Los Olivos General Store

Great store for souvenirs. The staff was very kind and gave us great advice on the local restaurants.

I have loved shopping at the spot over the years. Everyone that works there is super kind and welcoming and I love popping in to see what new goodies they've found. Great people watching spot from the chairs out front too!

So sad to write this review but the attitude of the employee there was beyond ridiculous. If you don't like your job go get another one. This girl literally verbally was making statements out loud talking about customers! Like if no one could hear her! Ridiculous! She was saying all kinds of dumb stuff and complaining about working. I was going to buy all kinds of stuff and ended up walking out because I couldn't continue listening to her!

We were in Solvang for the weekend with girls traveling from CA, MO, AZ and TX and this was one of our first stops. The service and the wines were amazing! We can't wait to go back!

Racist and toxic. Update: the store had one of their own staff leave a review about “welcoming staff” after reading my review. How desperate 😆😆 Little do they know that I have thousands of business followers/customers that visit this town and they will steer clear of this store after this. It’s disturbing that the minimum waged employee racial profiles the customers, think she's better than others, and is hostile to any woman that is younger and thinner than her and not blonde and blue eyed. Apparently, if you’re one those and even dare enter the store, you are stared at and treated less than until you’re uncomfortable and leave. And if you bend down to look at the sales items on the floor, you are stared at as if you’re a criminal and a thief. And if you leave because of how you’re treated, you’re laughed at behind your back. I have shopped there for over 5 years and have never had that experience. But of course will not go back or accept that treatment. It must be horrible to be a person that is that miserable, ignorant, and jealous. I guess if you’re older and have blonde hair and blue eyes you’ll be left alone. As was the person I was there with 🙄 Racism, bullying, and jealousy is never ok….and if that employee tries to contact me(which they tried but I blocked them), it is further harassment. I only want to speak to the owner.I looked at past reviews and apparently there is a history of this behavior.

Been shopping here for years! The owners and the staff are kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Whenever I need a last minute gift General store is my go to! A must stop while in Los Olivos.

Love this store. This is my go-to store for gifts to take home when I visit wine country. They have an excellent selection of books/toys for children; unique jewelry from local artists; and candles/spices/chocolates.

The people there are kind & friendly. They always help me find those last minute & unusual gifts (plus the jewelry I sometimes gift to myself).

This place is for browsing only. Hipster dufusville. Not many places like this in the tasting room town of Los Olivos so unless you are looking for wine this is one of the few places to walk thru. Not sure how general store it is. It's more of a boutique than general store. Think of much smaller version of Rose Apothecary. Items are overpriced as you would expect but they are vacation impulse buys.

Los Olivos General Store is a very attractive little store, filled with all kinds of goodies, ranging from food to things. For the home, for yourself, for someone else. One-of-a-kind type gifts, all really fun and interesting. My back was kind of hurting me when we walked in, so I was (sadly) more interested in finding a chair than looking at every little thing they had displayed, which I normally would have done.... but I really liked everything I saw as we did a relatively quick walk-thru. As good a reason as any to make sure I get back there to give it a proper investigation.

The best store in the Valley!! Be aware you'll want to buy they whole store! All their merchandise make for great gifts as well as merchandise I myself want to buy. Their jewelry section is outstanding and everything for the most part is gold plated. Top quality merchandise, almost all of which is local! If you're lucky enough to go when Judith is work, even better!

Very cute shop with very cute things. I bought a keychain that says "Carpe F%#* Diem". There were so many other gifts that you can spend a lot of time picking through. Perfect stop in between all the wine tasting rooms that surround this shop. It's located right on the corner in a prime destination and definitely worth stopping in.

Nice store. Different unique items. Staff couldn't care less if you were there or not. Buy on line from someone else!!!

This is the greatest general store. They have the cutest unique gifts and lotions. Super friendly staff. So many unique items. Not just your average store. Perfect for gifts and house warming items. They have so many unique kitchen items. Some things are expensive but they have a wonderful selection. The wine tasting here is great too.

Cute store owned by Christina Larner of the Larner Vineyards. Great place to pick up decorative home items for use and entertainment, and even better place to pick up a housewarming gift! Good taste, reasonable prices, and friendly service exude from this quaint shop.

Stopped in to buy water for our road trip and left inspired enough to type a review with my thumbs . This is the cutest store ever . Located among the vineyards and farmland of Los Olivos in the Santa Ynez valley , this weathered red building is reminiscent of a farmhouse and offers all the fixin's for a lovely picnic among the old oak trees . Featuring an impressive selection of imported as well as organic items both packaged and fresh ,and a well procured selection of California wines and cheeses this is a one stop shop . You can order a hand crafted sandwich and sit down in the glass enclosed atrium with a glass of Chardonnay from a local vineyard or start your shopping early with the purchase of a lavender candle sourced from a local farm . Charming gift items for your urban garden will seduce your heart and your pocketbook . I love the small agricultural towns that grace the long road between Southern and Northern California . When you can find a sweet rest stop that offers Humboldt Fog blue cheese ,McConnell's ice cream and artisanal whimsy you've struck California gold .

The most incredible store with the most unique merchandise. This is a must see store in Los Olivos, there is nothing quite like it. The staff are so friendly, such an amazing environment.

BEWARE !!!! FREE SAMPLES ARE NOT ALWAYS FREE !! In the doorway, there were some free samples. There was an almost empty bowl of Pistachios with one bag right next to it. Thinking this was a refill bag, we opened it to fill the bowl. We were then rudely asked if we opened it because it was not for samples. How did we know that? There was no sign on the table. So we were forced to buy the bag of over priced Pistachios. Also we had to ask for the nuts, poured in the bowl, to be put back in the bag. She gave an eye roll and did. Don't waste your time and keep on waking.

This is the cutest shop in Los Olivos! If you're looking for gifts in the Santa Ynez Valley, the Los Olivos General Store is a must. They have a wide variety of locally made products and I am currently obsessing over the lotion I got last time I stopped in. The customer service is also excellent - the owner and the entire staff are so wonderful and friendly!

Love this quaint little shop! I bought the cutest unique ring for a very reasonable price! Salesgirl was very friendly which made it easier to shop there.

Love this place and all that they have ! I recently bought a hat and some jewelry from a designer who recently came and did a showing of her stuff. Love the scented soaps and the personalized cards they sell. Plus they're down the street from where I live and work. Total plus !

They carry a variety of lovely items and open earlier than the other shops in Los Olivos. Good prices too. This place is a gem!

I picked up the cutest gifts for my family at the store. They have darling jewelry, baby gifts, candles and yummy treats. I can't wait to go back and go shopping! Such sweet girls to help you in the store!
