After five days in wonderful Oaxaca, we had a delicious final night dinner at Los Paco’s. Located in the Xochimilco neighbourhood. It is off the Zona Rosa beaten path but well worth the walk. The restaurant entrance is slightly hidden down a small alleyway. The restaurant itself is quite attractive with many tables under a large Palapa. What drew us to the restaurant was the opportunity to sample seven house made Moles. After being seated and ordering our delicious drinks (I had a tuna Mescalita which was my first), Laura, the owner, brought out a sample of the 7 moles and described each of them to us. She had a sample each mole, first with a piece of homemade tortilla, and then with a spoon to get the full flavours of the individual moles. The different flavour profiles of each mole were highlighted. They were all delicious. My wife and I then each chose to sample two of the moles on a plate with rice and delicious fried plantain. You can also sample three moles. My wife had the green and yellow mole, one with chicken and one with pork. I had the green mole and the capery stew mole with chicken. We both thoroughly enjoyed our choices. There are many other options on the menu, but the mole’s are the highlight. We had a fantastic meal and experience here and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Enjoyed an incredible evening at Los Pacos and highly recommend. A short walk from the historic district (25 minutes) and a new-to-us area of the City. Staff were very accommodating of our limited Spanish and the owner (a lovely lady) explained the 7 types of mole while we tasted each. Then we ordered and enjoyed a delicious meal. Mezcal cocktail with passion fruit too. Thank you to all !

This is a great place to try the different moles in Oaxaca and see which one you like best! If you get the tasting menu, the server brings samples of all 7 moles with warm tortillas, explains ingredients and pairing with each, and can then recommend a protein or dish to complement the mole of your choice. Excellent food and service!

Los Pacos has Excellent 7 moles! A wonderful explanation of the moles was done by Laura the owner and creator of the moles. Andres was our waiter. He was very professional, very friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. We will come back to Los Pacos. Thank you Laura and Andres!

We had a great time at Los Pacos! I particularly liked the free 7 moles sample at the beginning which then allowed you to pick your flavors for your meal. The ribs in the mole were very tasteful and tender. We had pork, beef, and chicken in different mole sauces. We also ordered some mezcalitas and they were soo good and smooth. Andres, our waiter was also very kind and attentive. Both him and another worker allowed us to wait for our taxi about 40 minutes after closing. Great experience and will definitely be back! They speak both English and Spanish.

This was wonderful. We recommend getting the mole sampler. The menu is built around their seven different moles and if you know which you prefer you can order a particular dish based on it. The ambience is top notch.
