Quick guide to what's good & bad: I was going to check out & move to another hostel, not because it was bad here, but it just wasn't my vibe (sometimes it just depends on who you meet) & it's expensive relative to other hostels. The mixed dorms are also quite small. Obviously this often depends on who you meet, which is random. But I changed my mind. And wanted to re-book and extend for a few more days, but it was booked out :(. Why? The staff they employ here are really amazing, accommodating, cheerful, happy to help - really everyone at the front desk I interacted with. Then there was this guy running the cooking classes they have, called Chris. He was incredible. So passionate about cooking & teaching us, with great English. I signed up to this class just 'meh' because, but glad I did because I got so much out of it and after this I really wanted to extend my booking for a few more days. They really seem to get the staff part of the business equation right here, and I think that makes it worth paying up for this hostel.

I had a great week solo stay here. It was social, and had so many activities (fruit tasting, dance, soccer, rooftop events, etc!) which were amazing. You can book tours via this hostel as well which was so convenient. A wonderful place to spend a solo trip and meet others / have lots to do! Good location in Poblado. I had a private room with balcony which was great. There is noise around, so be mindful of that if you’re a light sleeper. The WiFi in my room on the 5th floor was not reliable, but the wifi worked well on the main floor. There are coworking spaces and a common kitchen as well as a cafe downstairs. Staff is so incredibly nice and helpful. It was mainly a European crowd when I stayed! I did the coffee tour, guatape tour, comuna 13 tour, soccer match trip, and downtown walking tour. All were fantastic!

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The staff were incredibly friendly and always made me feel right at home. Huge shoutout to Juliana, Sara, Sofia, Don Cesar, Carlos, Fernando, and many others whose names I’m forgetting—everyone was wonderful. Trust me, if you stay here, you’re guaranteed to have a great time.

I stayed at Los Patios for 4 nights and 5 days. The staff were definitely super friendly, which I appreciated. However, my room was very noisy — I could hear everything from outside and the bar area, which made it hard to rest properly. They did change me to a less noisy room thou. I mentioned this to the staff, but was surprised by their reaction. They acted as if they weren’t aware of the noise issue in some rooms. After reading other reviews, it seems I was *gaslit* — it’s clearly a known problem. Pros: Top location in Manila, El Poblado — lots of restaurants and cafés around. A wide selection of tours available (I did few of them) Tours I Took -suggested and arranged by the hotel-: -La Comuna 13 – 85,000 COP -Free Walking Tour – Downtown– 75,000 COP-Tip -Free Walking Tour – Laureles – 35,000 COP Uber / 43,000 COP Tip -El Peñol (Guatapé) – 200,000 COP -Soccer Match at the Stadium – 220,000 COP -Bike Tour – 136,000 COP -ClubHopping to Provenza - 30,000 COP (avoid it if you don't like clubbing, loud music, crowdedness) My Favorite Tours (Ranked): 1. Free Walking Tour – Downtown (75,000 COP) (amazing tour guide--follow him: yes.to.colombia (ig) 2. Bike Tour (136,000 COP) (Juan Jo tour guide, great guy too) 3. El Peñol (200,000 COP) (the tour itself is worth it) 4. Soccer Match (220,000 COP) (you could do it on your own if you want) Hidden Gem (Did on My Own): Arví Park– 54,000 COP- Highly underrated. Worth the visit!- Check the hiking path! Tip: Always ask how many people have signed up for a tour. If it’s less than two (including you), I recommend skipping it — the experience might not be as enjoyable. Will I come back? I'm not sure. There are definitely more hotels in Medellín I’d like to explore. Is the best hostel in Medellin? doubt it. But cheerss to the amazing staff, 10/10 to them! Guys you made this hotel a better experience <3 Gracias amigos!

We took the guided night tour of Comuna 13 and really enjoyed the experience with the music and the locals. Thanks to Felipe and Estefania for giving us this experience; I have never seen anything like it in any of the places I have visited on my travels. They organized everything, from the moment we got into the car with Andrés until we left the neighborhood at dawn. Thank you for taking care of us all, and thanks also to the Patios hostel for helping us during our stay by providing us with pleasant rooms and good meals.

Great location. Feels very safe. Staff are very friendly. Asked them to fix the shower and toilet seat so they fixed the shower. Maybe wobbly seats are cool. Other than that the big dorm room is a bit tight, every bed has a fan that may or may not work. Bit tight but you get what you pay for. The attached cafe - do not eat there. Pastries are teeth breakingly stale. Lots to do in the hostel so very social. The in house laundry and swimming pool are at their other building a quick walk around the corner. Which is not ideal.

My partner and I stayed 4 nights in a private room at the Los Patios hostel. The hostel has extensive services we (partially) made use of. The pool is nice and warm. The luggage locker at check in/out was great. Not one but two rooftop bars and plenty of activities if you're looking to socialise. Although it was maybe a little loud at times the music always stops around 23-00 and sleep was possible earlier as Medellín will have you tired enough!
