If you know, you know.
Think of any characteristic that makes staying in a hostel a positive experience and Los Patios exemplifies it. Rooms are super clean and tidy, I've stayed in a 4 bed and 6 bed dorm and they were both great. Comfortable beds with everything you need within easy reach. The laundry service is convenient, fast, and priced really well. Lots of places to take a load off and relax, enjoy a beer, coffee, or company. As far as location goes, Los Patios is less of a close-but-adjacent type of place, and more of the central spot from which the rest of Manila branches out. For a hostel of its size, the staff are also remarkably friendly and warm. Stephanie and Andrea both did amazing jobs of simultaneously being super helpful with recommendations and answering questions, and just being awesome people to hang out with. I'm horrible with names but everyone here is the same way. Party busses or bar crawls with them is a guaranteed night to remember. Even if I'm not staying here during a visit to Medellin, it is still a place I will always visit just to see the view from the top, and catch up with the staff. There are a million hostels in El Poblado and if you're scratching your head and splitting hairs trying to pick the right one, this is it.
