Don't come if you like to sleep. 16 beds in a room of 40m2? And most of those beds double beds. We shared the room with about 20 people, it was constantly noisy, the door didn't shut/ open properly which was a big noise source. No mosquito nets. Lockers were out of order. 3 toilets and shower combinations of which only one room worked! For 20 people! The commun area was under construction, so not useful, the balcony's furniture you better don't want to touch, the WiFi was not working either. No kitchen area. Very overpriced for the service. They made 200$ that night on that one room, without ANY added value. No working facilities at all. The location is good, but there are so many places in the heart of town who actually offer a little more than a bed in a noisy place.

The location is fantastic but that's the only good thing I can say about this place. My wife and I stayed in a private room. The ceilings were only six feet high, so I could not stand up straight and the bed was tiny so I had to bend my legs to fit in. The place was always loud, even though there were very few guests. The lady at the front desk was friendly but not helpful at all. She recommended a local restaurant where the food was bland and we were gouged for at least double what locals would pay. She put us in contact with a tour company that didn't provide all the necessary equipment for our dolphin tour and used a driver who didn't stay with us for the agreed upon time. When we were leaving, she hailed a tuktuk to take us to the ferry terminal but the driver quoted an incredibly inflated price, so we just walked. If you can afford to, it's worth paying a little more to stay elsewhere.

The vile lady who runs this hostel physically assaulted me. I had given my laundry in the morning, and was told it would take 24 hours. It still wasn’t ready 24 hours later, so I was waiting in my room. When it did come back, it wasn’t properly clean, and it was also wet and smelled mouldy (like it had been sitting in a wet pile since the wash). I therefore said to the lady I didn’t think the full price was fair, and she immediately was extremely extremely rude and aggressive. There was no opportunity to have a constructive conversation with her, even when I explained it wasn’t really fair to pay full price as I’d need to have my washing done elsewhere. Her best offer was a 5000 discount, but given the state of the problem I still didn’t feel paying 25000 for a small laundry load was fair and so walked back to my room to pack up my things and resolve it hopefully with another member of staff. When I came back down stairs with my bag, this lady ran up to me and physically grabbed me screaming at me. The situation was so bad that strangers were coming in from the street telling her to let go of me and trying to intervene. I’ve never ever in my life experienced something like this and will file police report when I return to stone town. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend enough that nobody ever ever stays here.

The staff is unbelievably friendly and kind. The room’s AC is perfect and the concept, of the bunkbeds “in the wall” is super, the curtain gives plenty of privacy and the shower is big and clean. The bed in the dormitory is quite expensive, because of the tax, but the hostel is directly in the centre of stone town, 2mins from beach and 2mins from town. The owner is super nice and showed a lot of kindness. For backpackers, totally appropriate and with a sofa in the hall to meet other people.

I recently stayed at this amazing hostel and it exceeded all my expectations! The meals were not only delicious but also diverse, catering to various tastes. The location was ideal, providing easy access to key attractions. The hostel's friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere make it a definite 5-star choice for any traveler.

My husband and I absolutely loved this hostel. It is in a brilliant central location and the staff are super friendly. The showers are hot and everywhere is cleaned regularly. Best of all for us where the very comfy double beds in the mixed dorm. The decor is basic but that doesn’t matter much to us. Would definitely recommend to travellers on a budget.

Beautiful, clean place in a great location. Almost left happy. But Do not make the mistake of ordering laundry service with them. Myself and a travel mate turned in a bit of cloths, my bag weighting 1kg, hers 1.5. They told us this after the dropped the laundry off. The price was 10 k shillings. per kg. So imagine on our check out my surprise when the lady at the front desk decided to 1)charge us together, despite giving two separate bags And 2) charge us 35$ The math aint mathing. She could not produce a receipt and admited she forgot how much each bag weighed. So they are thirsty for 10 extra shilling. How petty and desperate. You lost a customer over a small amount of money. I will tell my friends coming in December to stay elsewhere. Hope it's worth it

Best hostel I’ve stayed at in East Africa! This is an extremely clean, well kept, modern and lively hostel with great facilities and a perfect location. There are really nice private (but shared) bathrooms and showers, with strong water pressure and hot water. The common areas are super nice and the entire place has great wifi and international wall plugs for foreign travellers. The rooms are also equipped with great air conditioning which is a must in this area. Hostel provided nice linens and towels too! As a solo female backpacker, I always try to find the best and safest female dorms, and these ones were amazing! The staff was also super friendly and accommodating when it came to organizing little trips via their affiliated tour company, and getting me rather cheap airport transport. Would highly recommend this hostel to all and maybe even come again in the future!
