Lost Boyz Hideout

I really wanted to like this hostel but left pretty disappointed. I only stayed for one night - the bedsheet I was given smelled so bad before I even used it so I had to ask for a new one. I saw ants on the wall and on my bed and I was bitten all night making it nearly impossible to sleep. Also think I found a BED BUG DISGUSTING There’s no AC and the rooms get stuffy. The whole place feels pretty worn down which didn’t match the price. The Wi-Fi is called “Lost Boyz Perfect Wifi” but it very choppy and didn’t reach the room. Renting a towel is also $3 which is absurd for a hostel and feels exploitative (please do better!!) On the positive side the people around were friendly and it has a nice vibe in the common areas. Overall I left disappointed and wouldn’t stay again unless some updates are made especially with cleanliness, comfort, and Wi-Fi

The hostel had a really good vibe and easy to make friends. Good location in the proximity to the beach. A lot of Swedish books for some reason haha 🇸🇪 Minor enhancements could be made to make the hostel a lot more functional: - Provide more plugs in the rooms. 4 plugs for 6 people when most people these days have more than 1 device to charge? At minimum add some extension cords. - Add hooks to the showers so there‘d be some place to hang your clothes while taking a shower - More kitchen things. Especially knives are lacking.

Super laid back vibe, great location along the main strip, and the room was nice. Biggest reason for the review was to shout out the manager, Dennis. This guy was so helpful, so friendly, and deserves the praise. Thanks for a good stay Dennis!!

It's a cheap hostel don't expect much. Bring towels or pay $3. No locked place for your valuables. There was very bad lighting you have to use your flashlight even when the light is on in the room.They had tiny cubbies with no locks and 1 outlet in the room. There was an extender for the outlet but not all of them worked. Breakfast is a pancake with fruit, and 2 people who arrived after me were served before I was. There were even people who had already gotten breakfast who got a second breakfast before me. But it's a chill vibe if you don't mind any of that.

Booked 7 days there. Talked to them via email before hand. Had a slight hiccup where the room we booked; the previous people took the remote for ac so when we arrived the room didn’t have ac. They called Dennis who manages the whole place. He came within 15 min and looked all over for the remote. Couldn’t find it. He made sure to get us right on our first night by cleaning an empty private suite that had a working AC for us. Dennis made sure we were taken care of. This place is amazing for the price. You’re right in the middle of everything. Hit them up for a four wheeler to drive around on and a surfboard cause the waves here are killer all year around. We came in September which is supposed to be rainy season. My girl got burned the first day we were here. So it isn’t really rainy. When they say rainy season. Atleast for September that means it might rain for 20-45 min and then sunshine. Dennis makes things happen. This trip has been amazing. Get a fourwheeler. Go surfing. And check out all the amazing food

I stayed in a nomad dorm and it was great. Staff are fabulous. I truely became a lost girl here and would like to get lost again. Thanks. Also, woke up to howler monkeys most morning and you’ll most likely catch a glimpse of them whilst here. AND THE CUTE RED SQUIRRELS.

I spent a total of 6 weeks at Lost Boyz Hostel, specifically in the Nomads dorm with 6 beds, and I had an amazing time. What truly sets this hostel apart are the people, especially the staff on-site. They are not just friendly, helpful, and in good spirits; they genuinely care about the guests. Whether it was sharing meals together at the hostel table, giving a quick ride to the ATM, assisting with phone repairs, translating emails, or arranging spontaneous shuttles, Santiago, Jesus, Cesar, Ian, and Matteo are simply fantastic. They are undoubtedly the reason I ended up staying at this hostel for so long, and it felt like home. Apart from the exceptional staff, the hostel itself is well-maintained, boasts a great pool, and includes breakfast (which is quite significant, especially considering the prices in Santa Teresa). Matteo, the hostel manager, is always open to feedback and goes above and beyond to address any reasonable concerns or suggestions (missing spoons were back in stock in a matter of hours :-D ). The hostel's location is also excellent; it's close to the main beach entrance (next to eat streets) and conveniently near surf and ATV shops (like Extreme Surf Center), the "Ronnie's" supermarket, and a laundry service. Regarding the atmosphere, most of the rooms do not have AC, but the beds typically come with their own fans. The layout of the house is very open, almost like sharing a massive house with friends. During the weeks I was there (off-season), it was fantastic. I can't speak to the noise levels during the high season, but the security was quite strict after 11 PM :-D. In summary, Lost Boyz Hostel offers a welcoming and warm family-like atmosphere, thanks to its exceptional staff members, and I can highly recommend it. I already miss you guys!

Lost Boyz is a fantastic experience. The property has amazing spaces to relax, meet people, and party by the pool. The studio room provide a comfortable stay with AC so you can get away from the heat at night. The staff is friendly, kind, and offers great suggestions for places to visit during your stay. I would recommend Lost Boyz for anyone visiting Santa Teresa.
