We hosted our wedding at Lost Fox Inn - we committed to the venue before they were even open for business because it is just so special. Lost Fox Inn has a way of making your experience so personalized and warm. Hand-written notes in each of the rooms to welcome us and our guests, curated menus, and the most warm and welcoming team. Our intimate wedding (under 40 people) was the best weekend of our lives, and our guests raved about the food, the spacious rooms, and the staff. Our tasting experience was a highlight, chef CJ was so impressive, and the entire bar & restaurant team are top-knotch. The lighting is so beautiful around the property, and each room is unique. Breakfast is incredible. We can't wait to return for future visits.

One of the more beautiful places I’ve seen harkening back to early days of the American landscape. We met our friends in a toasty warm bar room fireplace aglow illuminating the wooden patina throughout the room. This wonderful experience ended quickly when we were seated in a dining room with a fireplace minus the fire and minus any form of heat where everyone was wearing their jackets. Our server was unfriendly giving off the vibe she was doing us a favor by doing her job unwilling to engage us an inch. We asked to turn the heat on which they agreed but never did and chose to defend the age of the building and admonishing us for not knowing better that windows weren’t insulated back in the day. Service was rushed and curt throughout. After the second or third ask if “we’re ready”, we ordered some appetizers and in all fairness the potato chips and French onion dip along with the dates stuffed with blue cheese wrapped in bacon were very good. Trying to extract information about the pasta dishes was laborious so we ordered the orecchiette and the tagliatelle bolognese. The orecchiette was good, the bolognese was served warm but not hot and was dry. With all the excellent places in Litchfield County, The Lost Fox could improve greatly by training their servers to make people feel welcome and at home, maybe add some more selection to their menu, be more generous with the bolognese and for heavens sake serve your food hot. Guess that’s not so easy in an ice cold room.

I had the pleasure of attending a harvest dinner at Lost Fox Inn and was absolutely enchanted by the entire experience. The property is stunning — full of warmth, charm, and rich historical character, yet designed with a refined, modern eye that feels both thoughtful and elevated. From fireside dining to live fiddle music from the upstairs balcony, every detail was curated with such care. I loved being seated family-style with new faces, sharing an incredible four-course meal (I’m still dreaming about the passionfruit vinaigrette!) paired with beautiful wines. The tavern, the cozy lighting, the textures of the space — it all created a feeling of intimacy and nostalgia that’s hard to come by. As someone who works in events, I couldn’t help but imagine how perfectly this venue lends itself to intimate weddings and retreats. Each space offers something unique and inspiring, making it easy to envision a beautiful event flowing throughout the property. Can’t wait for another opportunity to return to Lost Fox Inn — whether for another dinner, a retreat, or to help bring a celebration to life here someday. Photos can’t quite capture the magic, but I’ve included a few to try!

We recently reserved the Lost Fox Inn for our wedding weekend, and it became one of the most memorable parts of the entire celebration. While we did not host our wedding on-site, we used the Inn for our guests’ accommodations and for our First Look photos — and it could not have been a more perfect choice. The grounds created an absolutely stunning backdrop for those photos, capturing the spirit and intimacy of the day beautifully.||From the moment we booked to the moment we checked out, the team at the Lost Fox was exceptional. Thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely warm, they anticipated our needs before we had to ask and treated our guests with the utmost care. My husband stayed on property and got ready there, and we returned together after the festivities to spend our first night as a married couple — an experience made even more special by the comfort and charm of the Inn.||The Lost Fox Inn will always hold a meaningful place in our story. We are deeply grateful for the team’s kindness and for such a lovely setting to share with our loved ones. Highly recommend to any couple looking for a beautiful, welcoming space during their wedding weekend.

Our daughter was married at the Lost Fox Inn, and we could not have been happier. The staff at the LFI was uniformly friendly, professional and always went the extra mile. The food is outstanding, the rooms are luxurious and spacious and the grounds are lush and well maintained. We felt that the level of service, the quality of the food and the setting all exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail, from the service, to the menus, to the decor, to the personal touches was most impressive. The NYT #1 Litchfield boutique hotel rating was well deserved. Worth a trip.

We visited a few months ago for dinner and had such a great time that we had to return and spend a weekend. We are happy that we did. Breakfast was always fresh and offered a unique twist on traditional favorites. Dinner on the first night was amazing. In fact, we left another restaurant early on our second night to return for drinks and dessert. Even though it was getting late, the staff members were happy to accommodate us and made us feel welcome. The room was equally amazing. It was spacious, clean, yet cozy. Above all, it's hard to put into words how kind the staff were and how much it meant to us. We are so glad that we chose to celebrate a birthday here and look forward to returning after event season. Our thanks to all of the staff at the Lost Fox Inn!

We stayed at the Lost Fox Inn in Litchfield, CT for a family wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms were amazing—my husband didn’t want to leave! The food was spectacular, and the setting was beautiful both indoors and out. Every detail was so well thought out, and the service anticipated our every need. This place truly sets the bar high for future family weddings!

We thought this restaurant was good. There were quite the interesting flavors in all of the dishes we got. The service was lacking a bit when I had to get the waitresses attention and she seemed very annoyed. Also, the 2 tables next to us got champagne sent to their table as well as glasses of wine. We were celebrating my birthday and we did not receive wine, only champagne. Seems like certain parties were favored here. Not sure we’ll be back.

Yelp
Charming and intimate, the tavern restaurant at Lost Fox is a welcomed dining experience here in Litchfield. Newly opened, the atmosphere is cozy and restrained with plenty of charm. Downstairs has an intimate eat-in bar and charming back dining room with banquets. We loved our dinner and the very attentive service. Cocktails and wine list are great. Ordered several first courses, all were delicious including the harvest board pâtés and the mushroom tart. Main course was incredible- the halibut hands down was the best cooked piece of fish I have had since I can remember... fresh ginger, green curry and spiced to perfection. Hats off to the very talented chef CJ Barroso. Do yourself a favor and dine here!

Yelp
ORIGIN: With the opening of Lost Fox Inn on Friday, July 26th, there is a new destination hotel AND restaurant in the Litchfield Hills that is both steeped in local history and nestled in a quintessential New England woodland setting. The main building got its start as the Captain William Bull Tavern in 1745, and had already been rescued once before with a relocation from Bull's original farm to its present site along Torrington Road. The community has been following the recent efforts of its current owners, and were invited to preview the product of this undertaking during a Saturday afternoon open house. It takes an uncommon combination of vision, knowledge, time, and financial resources to take on such a challenge, and I am likely not alone in being grateful to the friendly couple-- Eliza Clark and Tim Trojian -- and their fellow investors for preserving and highlighting Litchfield's past, while contributing to its future. LOCATION: The inn is nestled in a wooded landscape along the side of a road that connects the town of Litchfield with the city of Torrington. In this way it is an ideal location to both experience and explore Litchfield Hills/the "North West Corner", whether staying overnight or looking for a special dinner destination, as it is centrally located. LODGING EXPERIENCE: Beautifully decorated and unusually large rooms make for a restful overnight stay. DINING EXPERIENCE: Started with warm house made bread paired with saucers of slices of radish, and churned butter and ground rosemary mixed with salt flakes. Amazing how elevated this experience was thanks to the thoughtfully selected and prepared components and plating. The Potato Gnocchi with lemon ricotta, broccoli rabe, and pine nut pesto was one of those rare dishes that makes you reluctant to try anything else on the menu -- just how could it be matched?

Yelp
Talk about a 10/10 experience! We really enjoyed our meal at Lost Fox Inn. For a new restaurant, the staff really has it together, from the incredible service to the talented chef. My husband and I had a wonderful date night here - the dining room is small, but dimly lit, so it still felt private. The vibe is perfect for Litchfield, and the owners did a fantastic job of keeping the colonial charm in the renovations they did to this 1740s home. So many creative dishes to choose from on the menu, with some of our favorites being the lamb kofta appetizer and sticky toffee pudding dessert special. I'll definitely be keeping Lost Fox Inn in mind for another date night or special occasion!

Yelp
We recently stayed and dined at Lost Fox and can honestly say nothing but great things! The check in process was easy and the owner is so passionate about making sure the guest is accommodated. Dining at the tavern, the food was exceptional, the chef even came out to our table to ask us how our food was! If you just are dining at the tavern, it is a great date night spot!

Yelp
My fiance and I had a wonderful meal at Lost Fox Inn tonight for our anniversary. We enjoyed our evening from the moment we drove on property and pulled around driveway. Walking in, you are immediately absorbed in the ambience of a 1700's inn. We were sat upstairs, so we got to look through several rooms before getting to our table, located in a large open room with a large gas fireplace. The voices from other tables definitely carry in the room but it was as expected in such an environment. The cocktails were well mixed and the steak tartare, pork belly, and lobster bisque were all top notch. My fiance loved the Cornish game hen, particularly the polenta and brussels set it was served on. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and the watercress and carrots set was perfectly paired. We finished up with a chocolate and pear "candy bar" and a sticky toffee cake. While the chocolate and pear dessert was delicious, the cardamom sauce on the toffee cake was amazing. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Vanessa and support staff provided great service and covered everything we needed, while the manager Mike made sure everything was as memorable as could be for our anniversary celebration. I have a few people at work waiting for feedback after showing pictures of the location and I'll certainly be recommending they try it for themselves. It's a little out of our home area but we'll certainly be back.

Yelp
Great all-around experience for a 70th birthday dinner with 3 people. Staff was extremely attentive. Food was amazing. We split the harvest board and we all ordered the halibut - everyone was impressed, and I felt it was the best-cooked piece of halibut I'd in a long time. We had the sticky toffee pudding and the almond ginger cake for dessert - both were superb and the stick toffee was my best bite of the night. Nice wine list and nice, cozy atmosphere. We'll be back.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Spanish octopus, lamb, mussels and dessert. Ambiance is nice but a bit dark.

Yelp
Loved all of this newly added restaurant EXCEPT for the 80's elevator MUSAK that was in the way of conversation. Would have loved classical, jazz, soft rock or most ANYTHING else. The food and staff were superb!!!!!!

Yelp
Hey guys tonight my dad brought me back the lobster and crab salad. I ate the lobster but only if he broke it up into smaller bites for me. As for the crab well I whacked that shit under the couch! Then my dad surprised me with his left over halibut idk what it is about fish but it makes my hairs stand up on my back and I love it 10/10!
