Arrived early, no queue, no crowd, dressed well, polite at the door… and promptly told “not tonight, mate.”
Turned up with a female friend, and shock horror, the bouncers only wanted to let her in. Apparently I was “too drunk.” Now, their expert assessment was based on a single question: “Have you had a drink tonight?” I said yes (because, I don’t know, it’s a night out?), and that was apparently grounds for exile. Truly groundbreaking door policy.
My friend asked if it was because I was “too manly” or “too gay” – and they fumbled to assure us that of course not, heavens no! Nothing like a bit of vague discrimination mixed with zero accountability.
No crowd, no chaos, no reason – just a good old-fashioned brush-off. If you’re a guy thinking of going, maybe bring a disguise… or just don’t bother. Hard pass.
