11 Best Vermont Breweries: Where to Drink Craft Beer - AFAR

"Tucked into the back of an industrial park, this unassuming brewpub delivers warm hospitality alongside a varied lineup of IPAs, pilsners, black ales, and seasonal specialties. It’s particularly recommended for drinkers seeking alternatives to standard lagers and pale ales, with a notably flavorful gose and a taproom and restaurant that make it a worthwhile stop despite the modest exterior." - Jessie Beck

I recently stopped in with a friend—she ordered the beef burger, and I went with the chicken burger. While the presentation was visually appealing, the taste unfortunately didn’t live up to the look. My friend found her burger pretty underwhelming, and mine was more crispy batter than actual chicken. At first, the maple glaze added a nice touch, but it quickly became overwhelmingly sweet. By the end, I was peeling off the batter and left most of the bun untouched—it felt like eating maple-covered fried coating with very little chicken to balance it out. There were no traditional toppings like lettuce or tomato, just a few thin cucumber slices. That said, the potato wedges were fantastic—crispy, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. I’d gladly come back just for those. I also tried a local beer, which wasn’t to my taste, but thankfully Hill Farmstead was on the menu and never disappoints. The atmosphere inside was nice, with friendly service and live music adding a pleasant vibe. I had been here once before during the summer and much preferred the outdoor seating. Overall, while the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me, the service and setting made it a decent experience.

A fun quick stop. Lost Nation has been making some of the same beers for years, and it’s a fun bit of nostalgia to swing by. There’s live music, the food looks excellent, and the prices of the beers are good. I was shocked to find they had some bottle saisons they make, and I really love the biergarten next to a trail. A great place to stop for a pint.

Camping locally so like to try new, nearby places. Got there around 4 on Friday (Memorial Day weekend) and was surprised to see plenty of open seats. We were welcomed at the door with big smiles and a positive vibe. Our servers were awesome, answered questions about the beer options and continued to be great the whole time we were there. Most beers are German varieties; lagers, ambers, hefeweizens. They do have other options, but you won't find a lot of DIPAs or super hoppy beers. We loved our 4 choices, one being an import from Belgium that my wife was bummed that she couldn't take a 4 pack home. For food we got the pulled pork sandwich and the Maple Hot Butter Chicken sandwich. Both were amazing with the pork having a great smoked flavor without being overpowering and the Chicken was sweet and hot with a slow burn that caught up to me after a few bites. It tasted delicious and the heat stayed with me for a little while. They both came with hand cut potato wedges and we would DEFINITELY get them both again. Great place you can tell is a 'locals' hangout and we can see why.

Pulled pork with Carolina sauce is an absolute banger. Greens are fresh as can be and the slaw slays. Beer is good too.

Rating : 4.5 Awesome brewery, friendly service, and even better food! Kid friendly too! Recommend getting: - Morrisville Hot Chicken Sandwich - Fried Fish Sandwich - Carnitas Tater Tots - Roasted Brussel Sprouts w/ arugula pesto Don’t get : - Los Tacos. It was too dry and needed a sauce to make the dish more cohesive. - Grilled cheese. The bread was not a focaccia bread as stated in the description. The bread used was too chewy and thick for a grilled cheese. Overall, would recommend this spot!

In town with for a wedding and wanted to try our luck at a local Vermont brewery with our Brood that included young kids. BINGO! This was the place. Great beer (loved the Blood Orange Radler), super good food (dreamt about the potato wedges), and amazing atmosphere 👌. These folks were attent ive with their service and made us feel at home. Kids had a blast playing games too. Big Thanks to the local lady I met Price Chopper's who made the suggestion 😉 while we were buying veggies!
