This was the best lunch we’ve had in Italy so far. There was a woman outside who helped us with the menu. She was very kind and patient. Inside, ordering was a bit more rushed, but we were still well assisted. In the end, we ate the sandwich outside since there’s limited space to eat on-site. All in all, it was a fantastic lunch!

Google
Most delicious sandwich I ever tried, in the heart of Pisa - very near to leaning tower. if you are passing by - I recommend you try Variations of choices, amazing bread and fresh products and very reasonable price

Google
This was the best sandwich we’ve ever eaten! Speciale 13 was excellent (salami, mozzarella, pesto and tomato) and the service was great. Will definitely be returning when we come back to Pisa!

Google
Good bread and very good ingredients. Photos show that they are normally more generous with the toppings, for us we didn’t get that lucky.

Google
Delicious sandwiches. Amazing size, really tasty. Difficult to choose because they have so many options!!!

Google
Had quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever had. Sublime taste and such a huge selection. Highly recommend the special 13, was so good bought a takeaway to bring back home.

Google
Best sandwich I’ve ever had, exactly what I dreamed about coming to Italy and soooo well reasonably priced! Staff were so lovely and gave recommendations, we got the special 9&13 and both were insane!

So it’s our first time in Pisa we were looking for a good sandwich place based on the reviews and photos online it seemed quite good but I guess looks can be deceiving… no smiles or friendly attitude I’m quite disappointed barely any meat in the sandwiches and bread was stale they add a lot of meat only at the beginning of the sandwich to make it look fuller very disappointed not going back here

Yelp
Cute sandwiches place in Pisa. Interior is so cute. They speak English very well. Wide variety of sandwiches and three are so many options to chose from. We got the pork and salmon and it was yummmyy. Sandwiches are general portions and filling. Wish we shared them but I managed to finish my own. They have many wine options as well. Chianti never disappoints so we opted for that. Inside seating is limited but there are seats outside. Restaurant is clean and service is awesome. If in Pisa, highly recommend this place.

Yelp
One of the best sandwiches I've ever had!! It's a very traditional Italian sandwich, salty cured meat, thick crunchy bread fresh local toppings. The meat to bread ratio at first sight might look to be off and on the bread heavy side (I wouldn't normally make a sandwich like this) but it totally works. Well-balanced sandwich, the meats are flavorful, bread is delicious, toppings and sauces were perfect, and the sandwich was easy to eat despite its large size and crusty bread Held together really well, the toppings stayed in place and didn't shoot out the back when chomping down. The fillings are on the lighter side but it totally works. Friendly staff that spoke English, highly recommend, grab on on the way to the leaning tower or after.

Yelp
The sandwich was mediocre at best. We went there at around 11:00 and the bread was very stale. The meat was also very dry and the truffle sauce could not compensate for the dryness. We ordered the special 9. The only reason I am not giving a 1 star is because the service was okay. The shop was located at a corner and the lighting was darker inside.

Yelp
Came here for salumi and was not disappointed. Ordered a maxi board, which came with interesting yummy meats such as wild boar mortadella and raw sausage. As an American, the raw sausage was intimidating but delicious and can confirm I am feeling just fine. We also tried a sandwich (#5). Everything was so good, bread was fresh as well. You can either eat in their small counter inside or outside. The guys here are hilarious and nice. Great little lunch spot to check out!

Yelp
Tasty Tuscan panini sandwiches built on fresh, crusty bread are on order at L'Ostellino, which specializes in Tuscan street food, including a dizzying selection of cold cuts, cheeses, and sauces. The Speciale #5 came with slices of porchetta (roast suckling pork), along with creamy stracchino cheese, turnip greens (friarielli), and a red pepper paste. The salty porchetta had a nice peppery flavor, and the spice of the meat was offset by the bitter greens, the creamy cheese, and the sweet/acidic flavor of the red pepper sauce! I also tried the Novita sandwich, made with slices of boar mortadella, pecorino cheese, mushrooms, and truffle sauce. The highlight of this sandwich was the earthy, umami black truffle sauce, a typical (but still luxurious) ingredient found in this region!

Yelp
Great place to grab a bite. Employees are friendly and the food is delicious. You won't regret it

Yelp
I came here for lunch after spending an hour at the Leaning Tower so you know I was hungry. It was a short walk and a perfect light lunch. I had prosciutto and brie. The sandwich was light and the bread was a tad crunchy. The place is very small and the line can stretch beyond the door. The wait is quick and they offer a discount to the Pisa University students.

Yelp
Let me just caveat this review with the fact that: 1. I'm American 2. I like hot food 3. I didn't do my research before coming here That being said, here's my two cents. What I liked: -It's cheap. Like really cheap. We got two paninis for a little over 10 Euros. -It's close the to the leaning tower...so you know, if you're hungry, it's a quick stop. -It's open slightly later than normal italian places (a little past the 3:00pm cutoff) What steered me away: -the bread didn't meet my Italian bread standards. Pretty dry and crunchy (you know, the kind that tears the roof of your mouth after the meal) -it's cold: this is the American in me where I expected a toasted panini and then I was really disappointed -meat: prosciutto was really heard to chew. Definitely not the best quality.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Nothing to write home about, sammies as they look, kinda dry, kinda salty, get you in and out ... it's the kinda dry that leaves the roof of your mouth all shredded up! Tried the horse meat special 1 - looked like Saffron or meat noodles ... if I come here again it's McDonald's at the gate to Pisa for me ...

Yelp
Perfect place to pick up a cheap, quick and delicious sandwich on the way to the Torre di Pisa. You can either stop in and eat here (though it may be a bit crowded) or you can grab a sandwich to go and sit on the grass by the tower and entertain yourself while people are posing for pics. Got the porchetta and the spicy salami which were both solid picks. The spicy salami was on par with the famed All'antico Vinaio and their porchetta was something out of this world. Not too fatty, but not dry either. The bread was crisp and fresh. They are very tourist friendly and are in a prime location if you're just stopping by Pisa for the day and coming by train. Be warned, you may end up going back for seconds. And thirds.

Jessica C.

Yelp
perfect place for a cheap and filling meal. We didn't realize how large the sandwiches were and decided to get three sandwiches for two people. I don't know what we were thinking but we only finished a sandwich and a half! Buy some sandwiches and then have a picnic by the leaning tower! The porchetta was okay. I felt like we got drier parts of the meat making it more difficult to eat. The raw sausage was out of this world. I know that may sound kinda gross like can we really eat that? will i get sick? but I had a bite of my friend's sandwich and I didn't really want to give it back. It was so delicious and not something I've seen in other places. The bread was kind of too hard for my taste. It was the kind where after a few bite you feel like the top of your gums start hurting. But that may just be personal preference.

Yelp
Found this amazing sandwich shop wandering the streets on a rainy day in Pisa (actually my wife found it on trip advisor but saying we found it wandering the streets sounds a lot cooler lol). So far the best sandwich I've had during my time in Italy. It was a simple sandwich made with a few slices of salami, cheese, olive oil and pesto spread. The bread is baked fresh daily and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life. The place is tiny and more like a deli than a restaurant (4-5 tables and maybe 10-12 people max) but if you are looking for a amazing sandwich this is the spot. If you are lucky enough to grab a table, the sandwich is served on a cutting board and there is self serve wine bottles all along the walls (i.e. you serve yourself a glass and pay later). You can also grab a sandwich to go and have a picnic at the leaning tower. They also have a English menu which is a big plus.

Mac R.

Yelp
Kind dudes. Wonderful food. A pleasant surprise. A bustling happy hour on the beach before the restaurants open for dinner.

Helena T.

Yelp
LOVE IT!!! Best breakfast ever! Tiny place, but you don t have to sit there to eat, just ask for a sandwich/panini to go. They also got self service on the wine :p This is a must when staying in Pisa.

Oskar W.

Yelp
The place is small, but that is part of the charm. This place rocks. Both in terms of concept, service and food. Choose between a well-curated list of different Italian sandwiches (panini) filled with different meats and vegetables or go with one of their plates. The plates consists of different Italian charcuteries and cheeses. It really is heaven.

Ashleigh C.

Yelp
I really wanted to try this place based on the reviews, but they only accept cash. They mentioned an ATM down the street, but we were in a rush and only had card, so we could not eat here. Also, they seemed to struggle with communicating in English. Such a bummer because the sandwiches look delicious!

Chen Z.

Yelp
This is by far the best sandwich shop I ever eaten at. This is pork and everything else pork! I ordered a sample platter. My favorite was the raw cured pork something I never thought of having. It was delicious! It was the best bite of pork I ever had. The owners are very welcoming, they have 1 english menu. They do not take credit card.

Fabian L.

Yelp
We came here after seeing all the great reviews on yelp and trip advisor and where left highly disappointed. The service the Italian-speakers got was noticeably friendlier than the service the tourists got. The bread of our sandwich was stale and hard, the meat was plain disgusting. After a few bites both my wife and I threw the sandwich out and went to one of the places around the corner, which was much better. Will certainly never come back.

Yelp
This place is always packed and for good reason. I went in here based on a friend's recommendation. It's a very quaint shop, there are only a few seating areas on the inside. Perfect spot to take grab a quick lunch, walk over to the piazza and enjoy the view. FYI, there is a store next door where you can purchase snacks and drinks, alcohol too (12 oz bottle of water for 50 euros). There are two menus, one in Italian and the other in English (located inside and in front of the shop). There are a few menus on the outside, plenty of choices if you have someone picky in the group, so you can decide then and there without causing any traffic inside. Now onto the food, although I'm not fond of cured meats I was very pleased with their selection. The sandwiches/paninis are made with fresh ingredients. They prepare everything right in front of you. They don't toast the bread here, fyi and not particularly fond of the bread because it is heavy. The sandwiches are huge and one is enough to feed two people. The sandwiches and paninis are around 5 euros. Pro tip: Because I was eating every few hours, being that I wanted to enjoy as much food as possible on vacation I would cut the sandwich in half and transfer the rest of the meat/cheese on the half I was about to consume. The meat to bread ratio was 40/60 and I'm not about to go over my carb intake on one meal.

Yelp
The best sandwich in Europe. Outside is a quaint park. A few minutes from the leaning tower here in Pisa, this place was a perfect stop. Back to the sandwich...perfect Italian hard crust roll. Just the right amount of salami and pecorino cheese. Plus I added some pesto and roasted peppers. Did I mention perfect? If you are able to come to Pisa, please strive for perfection. You won't be disappointed. Oh...you're still reading? The sandwich was only €5. Cheap! Still reading... I love sandwiches and know a good one when I find it. Trust me. Yummy. That's all for now!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch based on Yelp reviews and really glad I did! Sandwich was perfect for lunch and large enough to share. Definitely highly recommend it.

Todd M.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch today based on some of the previous reviews. I was very happy I did. Ordered the Lardo sandwich with the Figs (see picture added). It was perfect. The sandwich was perfect size and delicious. Secondly the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would totally recommend going here.

Dahokolomoki Z.

Yelp
Giving this 5 star is a bit of a stretch - the sandwiches here are good, but not excellent. It is definitely a great way to get local flavours - tuscan "raw" sausage, wild boar salami, pecorino cheese, etc that you won't find elsewhere.

Yelp
This is a gem of a place. Very authentic and was the highlight of our stop in Pisa. The panini with mushrooms and truffle oil was superb!

Yelp
Certainly a little spot of sunshine in Pisa and really close to the tower.. so convenient. We got there around lunch time and the place had several young people (who follow Tripadvisor and yelp). The location is amazing as it is in the complex where the leaning tower of Pisa is.. just not right in front. Usually the restaurants that are right in front of the tourist attraction are not that great as they get enough foot traffic without worrying about the taste or menu. This place is a about 3-4 mins walk towards the back. They don't have a restaurant license so they serve sandwiches like a shop and the drinks are self-serve. They clearly make fresh bread and slice fresh meat right in front of you. Being a vegetarian reviewing this place is a little unfair as an authentic Italian deli like this is all about the cold cuts and cured meats, none of which I tried. We ordered two vegetarian sandwiches. Service was pretty quick as its just assembly time for them. They serve in wax paper on a cutting board, looked so cool. The bread was clearly fresh ciabatta but too hard for me. I noticed that bread across Europe was pretty hard, but it was definitely easier to digest than softer bread. Perhaps that is the more traditional way to make bread. I am used to the ultra-soft over-processed bread made in United States (which is definitely bad for you). The veggies were fresh and they had a drizzle of olive oil inside the sandwich which tasted great. My main complaint is that there was no sauce or spread. With a hard bread and no sauce, the only way I could gulp it down was with some coke. The prices were amazing, really low (€3-4 pp) which is un-heard of in Europe especially in the popular tourist destinations in high season. If you like authentic Italian freshly sliced meats and ciabatta bread - don't miss this place while you are at the Tower!

Beatriz B.

Yelp
The sandwiches were good and also a good size (not like some of the ones in bars which are tiny and overpriced). The place really is TINY, but since we were there on a rainy day, we had no choice but to squeeze in there (with our husky, so not fun). However, this is really a good lunch for a veryyy good price and just a block away from the Leaning tower.

Brian H.

Yelp
Had some really tasty sandwiches from here. Not too expensive. It's pretty tight inside so I recommend takeaway unless you have enjoy eating on top of someone.

Lela T.

Yelp
This is a great sandwich shop. I would love to have something like this in my neighborhood. The sandwich was everything that a sandwich should be: good bread, delicious meats and cheese, lots of options, beer and wine available and all for a great price.

Danny D.

Yelp
Wow! This was great! It was about 10 euro for two sandwiches. Location of the map is not quite right. Go to the small square near where the map shows, not to the side street to the left. We ordered the "raw" sausage ( I know, I think it is translation) and it was fantastic!

Emily D.

Yelp
This little restaurant next to the tower of Pisa is great. Their bread and meat are fresh and tasty. Though if you don't have strong teeth, the bread can be a little bit hard

Scott T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and very authentic sandwiches in the heart of Pisa! We enjoyed all four of our sandwiches which are in very fresh bread and great tasting meat. This is so much better than getting food at the other knock off shops located by the leaning tower.

Prima Z.

Yelp
This was the best sandwich I had while in Italy. The flavors of the meat, cheese and sauce mashed together so perfectly. Only complaint was the bread was a bit hard making it hard to bite down on. We ordered G with Finocchiona. Absolutely delicious. One sandwich was enough for 2 people and not a small portion.
