Loteria in Asbury Park isn’t just serving tacos, it’s delivering tiny, tortilla-wrapped miracles. I came in hungry and left spiritually fulfilled. The flavors are complex, the textures are perfect, and the emotional connection I formed with two tacos? Honestly a little concerning. Oh, and their margs are refreshing and cooler than the other side of the pillow. The vibes are immaculate. The staff are cooler than me (not hard, but still). The food hits harder than a telenovela plot twist. And the guacamole? Absolutely delicious. Creamy, fresh, and the kind of thing that makes you question every other guac you’ve ever met. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I write a love song about their tacos? Already halfway done.

We can for Cinco de Mayo the food is very very good I don't drink so I'm not really sure about the cocktails but everyone seemed to be having a very good time the atmosphere is nice they hosted a wedding shower there it was very large space for them to have the party and overall I'd say the parking was the hardest part but totally worth it once you found a place to park everything that's great

Our meal here was an experience of cosmic proportions. The chimichanga (a Sunday special) was unbelievable. The meat was delicious, but somehow the star of the show was the rice and beans. This fried burrito was a religious experience! The queso dip is serious business. The cheese sauce itself had great texture and richness. With the addition of the chorizo.. an insane flavor! The tacos were simple but delicious. The margarita was refreshing, sweet, salty, and strong. The churros were the perfect end of an excellent meal. Absolutely would recommend!

Horrible Service and Shockingly Unprofessional Management We came with a party of 12 to celebrate a birthday, but what should have been a fun evening turned into a complete disaster. We were seated at 7:30 PM, yet it took over 35 minutes just to receive a cold queso appetizer. We asked for a replacement, and while the second one was warm, it still wasn’t properly heated. After placing our dinner orders, we waited until 9:15 PM—nearly two hours—for our meals to arrive, and every single dish was cold. Throughout this time, our server was inattentive, leaving dirty plates on the table and rarely checking in. The manager even had to help deliver food, suggesting the staff was either overwhelmed or unprepared. When we voiced our concerns, the manager offered no apology or discount and instead brought out the owner. What followed was one of the most unprofessional encounters I've ever experienced. The owner was aggressive, condescending, and dismissive. His exact words were, “It’s a Saturday night in Asbury, what do you expect?”—a truly unacceptable response. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and refused to pay the full $540 bill for cold food and terrible service, he mockingly told me to “pay and leave,” even bobbing his head at me in a rude, taunting way. Shockingly, the restaurant called the police. Even the responding officer commented that he wouldn’t want to wait two hours for cold food and asked if I wanted to file harassment charges—which says a lot about the situation.

Absolutely love the new and improved Lotería! The enhanced cocktail menu is great and has such reasonably priced drinks especially for Asbury. We had the patatas bravas, various tacos, chips + guac, and a steak quesadilla. They added crispy mushroom taco that was so delicious! Our server, Lauren was also incredibly attentive and sweet. Highly recommend!!

Food is good. However, service is very slow. We were seated to our table but had to wait 10 mins to get actual seats for our table. Food took 40 mins to arrive and water was only refilled once at the end of our dining experience. Make sure you have a lot of time left on your parking meter if you’re visiting this place
