Horrible Service and Shockingly Unprofessional Management
We came with a party of 12 to celebrate a birthday, but what should have been a fun evening turned into a complete disaster. We were seated at 7:30 PM, yet it took over 35 minutes just to receive a cold queso appetizer. We asked for a replacement, and while the second one was warm, it still wasn’t properly heated.
After placing our dinner orders, we waited until 9:15 PM—nearly two hours—for our meals to arrive, and every single dish was cold. Throughout this time, our server was inattentive, leaving dirty plates on the table and rarely checking in. The manager even had to help deliver food, suggesting the staff was either overwhelmed or unprepared.
When we voiced our concerns, the manager offered no apology or discount and instead brought out the owner. What followed was one of the most unprofessional encounters I've ever experienced. The owner was aggressive, condescending, and dismissive. His exact words were, “It’s a Saturday night in Asbury, what do you expect?”—a truly unacceptable response. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and refused to pay the full $540 bill for cold food and terrible service, he mockingly told me to “pay and leave,” even bobbing his head at me in a rude, taunting way.
Shockingly, the restaurant called the police. Even the responding officer commented that he wouldn’t want to wait two hours for cold food and asked if I wanted to file harassment charges—which says a lot about the situation.
