Yelp
This is a great place to visit for all the family, there are nature walks around both the gardens, woods, and even a set walk around the perimeter, there is the house to look in (for a small fee), but more importantly there are the bird gardens, which are a popular attraction, and are free to visit.
In fact we often visit as it is very inexpensive, you can take your own picnic, walk the grounds, visit the bird gardens, and then play football, or whatever on the huge grass area. There is plenty parking, which is pay and display, but i think its only a couple of pound for the whole day.
There is a cafe, if you want to buy food there, which is reasonably priced for such a place, or get a drink. There is also a separate ice-cream shop, a cold drinks vending machine outside the cafe and throughout the summer there is an ice-cream van too.
For an inexpensive day out, this is a place you really should visit.
