Where to Stay in Athens When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"This four-star option features spacious, airy rooms with hardwood floors, large TVs, upscale bath products and comfortable large beds; some rooms have balconies and views, there's a hot tub on the premises, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome." - Matthew Kepnes

I have been coming to the Lotus Inn for a few summers now and I'm impressed with this homey place more every year. Great staff. They are totally geared to making their guests happy. Rooms are clean and there are nice little additions that make the place feel like a cute B&B. Great location for families with kids with a splash park and bike rentals right across the street, and the beach waiting to greet you beyond that. The salt water pool is lovely too. So visit quiet Wildwood Crest with the family and stay at the Lotus. I'll be back next year to hang again with my grandchildren!

Google
Great family hotel, very clean, in a great location. Denise at the front desk is very accommodating. What I like is that even though check out is 10am, you can stay for the entire day using their pool, outdoor shower, pool bathroom and parking lot. So you can get another whole day of beach fun! Who does that?

Location is key to this hotel. Walking distance to beach, walking distance to restaurants and little cafes. The owner/manager was great. My parents booked a hotel a few blocks down and were very dissapointed so they wanted to come here with us. They had called Lotus inn a month prior and were told there was no availability. The manager said that wasn’t true so the gave them a discounted room. He was very nice and worked with my parents. Pool was convenient and decent. Rooms were okay, very outdated but served the purpose.

I have been coming to the Lotus Inn for many years and it never disappoints! We like that it's so close to a nice bike rental, we really enjoy biking to the boardwalk in Wildwood. We got there a few hours before checkin time and the office staff were so accommodating they went above and beyond to help us. The room was very clean, we had people in each room beside us but couldn't hear anything, the rooms seem sound proof. Looking forward to my next trip to the Lotus!!!

Google
I usually do not complain but this was not a good experience in this hotel. We stayed in a room with a kitchen and inside the cupboards was a very bad moldy smell. Also inside the dressers was a very moldy smell. It definitely needs to be remodeled and updated. The mattress in the 2 queen beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The whole hotel needs to be upgraded and updated. The girl at the desk had an attitude and did not care if the customers are happy she just wanted her money. Will not be back at this hotel again.

Google
Stayed here for a weekend in July. The room and pool were clean. The front desk staff were very nice. There is a park across the street for kids. Great location across the street from the beach. We would book again.

Google
Very comfortably clean. Updated furniture (not shabby), soft sofa bed mattress. Great location near the shore and restaurants. The package offered was more food than we could eat! Excellent value for families. We will definitely be back, and we can’t wait! Thank you, Lotus Inn! Wishing you every continued success.

Because of allergies, I have to seek out hotels that do not allow pets. I didn't know what to expect of the Lotus Inn but I pleased in every way. Location was great. View was fantastic. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was spotless. I thought it was an incredible value.i stayed two nights but would happily return.

Yelp
Would not recommend this hotel. Beds are very hard sheets and blankets are terrible, air conditioning does not remove the humidity, housekeeping staff very bad. They harass you and are always in your face. They wait outside your room on the day you are checking out. There is only one elevator. The housekeeping staff are in the stair well and elevator on the day of check out making it very difficult to load your car. They will also harass you to make up your room during your stay. The television keeps going down and they have to reset it. It's just not worth the aggravation and does not provide a nice experience.

Yelp
Stayed for an overnight the room was very clean and updated the staff were all friendly and the location was great with a nice view from the upper floor and a nice size clean salt water pool

Yelp
The entire staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating. They're the only place I've stayed in Wildwood that offers complimentary coffee in the lobby and that little courtesy meant so much! Housekeeper Shaniqua went above and beyond by giving us extra towels and blankets. The room was clean and spacious. The location is great - right across from the beach, bike rentals, and Sunrise Park and on the quiet side of Wildwood Crest. The reasons I gave this 3/5: -The shower was HORRIBLE. It had a mind of its own! Turn it in the middle temp and it would randomly go boiling or freezing - my husband burned himself and I was afraid of bathing the baby. The water also was very slow to drain, so we would have to shut off the shower mid-wash to have water go down. -The direction of the hotel leaves the whole pool and sun deck without sun by 1:30/2:00. -There is no game room or activities for children. -The air conditioner is only in the bedroom, so the bedroom gets FREEZING, while the rest of the suite is humid. Overall, a pleasant stay, a lovely place, and good for families.

Yelp
Be very careful when booking this hotel. Contracted covid before our trip. Had no choice but to cancel. They only offered a changed stay but needed to be with in 3 weeks out which was impossible with our schedule and illness spreading thru family. It was understood they would keep our deposit (sad but realized) and then they went and charged the full amount of stay after the fact! Who does that???? They blamed the situation on Expedia policy? (who tried to intermediate on our behalf but were unsuccessful. ) Wont be using them again. We are well traveled and have never been in this situation with a hotel before. Certainly not a very accommodating hotel. Sketchy business practice! BEWARE. Book elsewhere !

Yelp
We just had the pleasure of spending our annual week at the Lotus. As in past years the room was absolutely spotlessly clean, and wonderful. They were even taking extra measures and precautions due to CoVid. Are there rules? Yes, but with common sense and consideration of other guests in mind. We personally like their strict no smoking policy since we have very small kids. The reviewer below was disgruntled after the staff asked her very large party to turn down their loud music next to the pool (other families were also trying to use the pool but they had taken over the area). Unfortunately, they were also not watching their small children in the pool, which made other families visibly nervous. We witnessed it firsthand from our balcony. We will absolutely be back next year. We couldn't ask for a better location or a more courteous staff. They truly take care of the property, rooms, and guests!

Yelp
I think this is our 5th year in a row staying at the Lotus Inn. Such wonderful changes since the new owners took over. We booked a little late so couldn't get our usual room on the 2nd floor, so we stayed on the 3rd floor. They're making lots of upgrades to the rooms. In addition to the new flooring and carpet in the bedroom, we were delighted with the addition of the new closet and pantry in the living room! We usually piled our food stuff on top of the fridge so it was nice to have a place to store it. The bathroom was upgraded as well. New tiling, shower/tub insert, rack removed and replaced with a towel bar, new sink/vanity and shelving. We also noticed new bath towels. The staff couldn't be nicer and new GM John came out to greet us when we were checking in. He also greeted the next family that arrived for check in. Nice touch! The grounds are clean, three clean grills and utensils are available to use. The location is great! Close to Centennial Park for concerts, beach is across the street, bike rental across the street as well as the addition of a new splash pad for the kids (free!). It's not crazy crowded at this end of the island. It's nice and quiet, even at night. We look forward to our next visit to the Lotus Inn, hopefully this fall!

Yelp
Tiny space... both beds are up against the wall making it impossible for two people to sleep next to each other without being pinned against the wall. Very small. Loud kids playing out in front ... oceanfront is a formality only, it's got a road and a playground type park between the hotel and the beach. Very disappointed. The one bonus is the staff at check in... very sweet and thoughtful.

Susan G.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the townhouses on the 6th floor. Beautiful and spotlessly clean. Central air, 2 baths, full kitchen and 3 bedrooms. Perfect accommodations for a beach vacation. Staff is very helpful and friendly

Yelp
We recently stayed at the Lotus Inn during a family trip. The staff was very friendly, and were wearing masks. They scheduled our housekeeping days when we checked in due to COVID regulations, which worked out well. On the days the room wasn't being cleaned, they left fresh towels for us. The room was very clean. Even the space between the wall and the bed had clearly been vacuumed. The sheets were on the older side but very clean, as were the towels. The room decor is a bit dated, especially the bathroom, but as I said, it was clean. I actually enjoyed the decor because it reminded me of when I would go down the shore with my family back in the day. We had the two room efficiency with an ocean view. It was perfect for us with the COVID regulations because we had a place to eat when we did takeout (Lobster House!!) and could make breakfast in our room. I very much enjoyed having my morning tea on the balcony while I enjoyed the view. The location is awesome! There is a small park between the hotel and the beach, and a bicycle rental place at the park. There is a running/bicycle path right there, as well. My only complaint would be the pull out couch in the dining area. It looked old and very used. I was glad that we didn't need to use it. Oh, and it would have been nice if the windows had screens or something. We had the window open for a bit, but I wouldn't sleep with it open with no screen.

Yelp
So, we went to this hotel for 10 years for a week vacation when it was owned by a very hardworking, elderly couple. This year, we booked a reservation for a week in late June, and gave an $1800 deposit. Right before our vacation, my wife's father got very sick and died. We asked for at least part of the money back. The new owners refused, and kept the entire $1800. This was extremely wrong, and very mean-spirited. We will not go there again. They are very poor business people to do this to steady customers.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Wish I could give it 0 stars. Terrible. One word, bed bugs, absolutely filthy and no remorse from the front staff.

Peter S.

Yelp
This place is a dump, cockroaches dead on the kitchen floor. longhairs found in the bathroom on towels, hair under the sheets of the bed linens. At $300 a night this place is unacceptable not to mention you have to leave a $20 deposit for a key.

Yelp
I'd give this place no star if I could. Truly disgusted by the rooms here. Found blonde hair on the towels and no one in my family has blonde hair. Found pubic hair too! Once we got in the room, I felt so itchy like bedbugs were present or some type of creepy crawlers. The miserable lady at the front desk named Lauren, Lori or something with an L is a nazi! I believe she discriminated my family as well because we are asian. YOU CANNOT HAVE VISITORS IN YOUR ROOM UNLESS THEY ARE REGISTERED TO STAY IN THAT HOTEL. I REPEAT YOU CANNOT HAVE VISITORS. My family members were coming from the other hotel across the street and the crippled old man that works there was PEAKING THROUGH OUR HOTEL WINDOW LIKE A CREEP! It was the most uncomfortable experience of any hotel service I ever got! We had another room for another night and miserable Lauren/Lori CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION TO THAT ROOM AFTER THE FACT WE HAD ALREADY CHECKED IN. My family members with two little kids were supposed to stay in that room and we ended up calling other hotels in the area to find them a place to stay. Hotel slogan should be "LOTUS INN THEY DON'T LET US IN" I really hope you find this review to be helpful because MISERABLE LAUREN/LORI WILL MAKE YOUR STAY UNCOMFORTABLE ALONG WITH THE CREEPY OLD MAN! I guess it was because MISERABLE LAUREN/LORI was really cranky because the evening before checking in, she wore the same clothes throughout the next day and looks like she napped in the office and believe me, you can tell she had no sleep! She also claimed her 2.5 star review is "NOT TRUE". Well she's not a customer, so how is her experience the same as the real customers?! There are plenty of vacancies and I assure you that it will stay vacant because places like this need to go out of business. There are a ton of hotels in Wildwood and I highly recommend NOT going here.

Yelp
Very typical of Jersey shore hotels. Dated and nothing special. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the rooms were reasonably clean. A huge turn-off was the attitude and distrust we experienced while booking the rooms over the phone. I booked two 4-person rooms, and my party included 7 adults and a 3 year old. The manager was very annoyed that we maxed our capacity and made it clear to us that she was doing us a favor by accommodating us. My wife and I had to go into great detail explaining who each person was, to include their relationship to us and where they would be sleeping. I never experienced anything like that in over 20+ years of travel. That said, she was sweet as pie when we arrived and we had a great time. P.S. Free Wi-Fi was provided, but I had better connectivity from a hotel I recently stayed at in Sarajevo!

Courtney M.

Yelp
This hotel is unaccommodating. They go against their written policy. My friends and I booked a room for a weekend in June 2020 which was then moved to 2021. We are no longer able to attend so we called/emailed to cancel (7 months in advance). They are telling us we are not able to get a refund, which goes against their policy of "If you wish to cancel a confirmed reservation, 75% of the deposit will be refunded if notified more than 2 weeks prior to arrival date." Very unprofessional.

Yelp
We just came back from a three night stay. Always a great time. This is my favorite motel at the shore. Always clean and nice. Rooms are great. Parking spaces are a little narrow if you have a big car. Can't wait to come back in September!

Yelp
We have always stayed here for as long as I have been coming to Wildwood with my boyfriend's family who turned fiancé who turned husband. Since we started dating in 2008 until now, I've stayed at the Lotus on three great occasions for a week to ten days at a time and we are greatly looking forward to another vacation this summer. It's always clean, staff are friendly, it wouldn't feel like a Wildwood vacation without the Lotus. We love the fast continental breakfast and the hot dog roast once a week. Great ocean view, perfect distance to the boardwalk...quiet and calm. Love it. I'm excited to see the updates this year I have heard about.

Maryanna A.

Yelp
This was our first time staying here, and our last! I constantly felt like we were being watched!! To many rules! From barbecuing to spraying suntan lotion by the pool or in your room. Room set up was odd with adjoining rooms opening up in the back bedrooms instead of in the front living area? Air conditioning only in the back bedrooms, and a ceiling fan that never went to high speed. Disappointed with the kitchen area(only stove top)! The pool was never heated, even when you asked them to turn it on! We made the best of our week there, but I really wish I would've believed half the reviews I had read!
google avatar

Jameson B.

Yelp
I am giving one star because the front desk person was nice. Otherwise, our room was FILTHY! We could not sit on the couch because it was covered with stains and hairs, so they gave us sheets to put over it. The sheets had paint and stains all over them as well! The carpets were not vacuumed & they were heavily stained. They offered to come and clean the carpets that same day. But then we had a commercial fan blowing on the carpets for days and that made a such bad smell I couldn't wait to leave. Our bathroom was old and dirty. Hairs on the toilet and mold on curtain. We had to spray bleach to clean it ourselves. We did not use any dirty utensils, the inside drawer was covered in dirt, and someone left their dried up herbs in the cabinet. There is only one a/c unit in the bedroom so you cannot close the door to other area of the room and it gets very hot. The a/c also leaked water onto our heads one night. The breakfast is hardly a breakfast and we ate every morning at the hotel across the street. This place needs to be torn down. If you have allergies or asthma stay away for your health.

Yelp
It seems that there are hundreds of motels to choose from in Wildwood Crest. We stumbled, unhappily, through a few before finding the Lotus Inn and have always gone back! The staff is there year after year. Once I called, and they answered the phone greeting me by name (they had caller ID obviously) as if I had called 5 minutes ago. They've been great to work with and even offered suggestions to their packages or worked with us on some details that most places would say, 'take it or leave it'. The place is clean and NO SMOKING! We'll ALWAYS go back to the Lotus Inn!

Yelp
Clean, Great Customer Service, Excellent Family Hotel! My family and I have made an annual tradition of coming to the Lotus Inn for the last 15 years. I have stayed in every type of room they have over that period of time, and have always been met with a friendly clean environment. The rooms are clean and spacious, the view is beautiful, they offer continental breakfast, the grounds are clean and well kept. There is a sun deck where you can enjoy the view if you do not have an ocean front room, BBQ grills for cooking, the beach is right out front, along with the bike path, and a lovely little playground for the kids. The convention center and boardwalk are a few blocks away. My family and I just love it here, and will continue to make the Lotus an annual family trip. We also take advantage of off-peak getaways, and long weekends on and off-peak. The wonderful thing about life is that we have the ability to make choices. Making choices is how we determine what makes us happy. If we make a choice and we are not happy with any aspect of the outcome, we get to make a different choice. Every young adult, every family, every dating couple, etc, have different expectations of what is right for them and what makes them happy when they stay away from home. We have the ability to choose places when we stay away from home that meet our needs, and make us happy. When we find places that do not meet our needs, it does not make those places bad, it just makes them not good for us. So, if you need to smoke, you choose a place that allows that, or that has a policy that is acceptable to you. If you need to hang your towels out on the railing to dry, you choose a place that allows that. If you want a luxury hotel with the latest and most expensive decor, you choose that. I you need a young adult party environment, you choose that. The layouts of the rooms, the grounds and the rules are clearly spelled on the website. It is all about choices. In all of the years I have been coming here, I have always been treated with kindness and respect by Lori and Tom. I have seen some statements made in the reviews about being spoken to rudely. I will say this about that. Some people feel that because they are patronizing a business, that they can talk to people in any manner they see fit in the name of being the recipient of good customer service. However, there is a limit to what someone should have to be subjected to in the name of providing good customer service. If we are rude and unkind to others because we are "customers" we might not like the way we are spoken to in return. Some people expect unconditional patience, even when they are being abusive and disrespectful to another. With that being said, I will continue to visit the Lotus Inn every Spring for Mother's Day Weekend, at least twice during off-peak times for a getaway, at least once a year for vacation, and sometimes more than once for spontaneous family getaways! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g46932-d121479-r314460691-Lotus_Inn-Wildwood_Crest_Cape_May_County_New_Jersey.html#

Yelp
Very nice family hotel. The rooms could use some updating but they are very clean! Staff are great. Only suggestion would be maybe play some music outside at the pool area!!!! Definitely nice place to stay.

John F.

Yelp
Very nice, family run hotel. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Beds are comfortable, rooms are well equipped, pool area is clean and spacious. It's not a luxury hotel but their prices aren't luxury prices either. If you're looking for a well priced, no frills, nice place to stay you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Dmitriy P.

Yelp
Too many rules.. Guests are treated with suspicion and are spied on. Unwelcome place. Owner, Lori, takes personal dislikes to families with lots of kids, obviously preferring older quieter crowd. Our reservation was almost canceled when owners saw us spraying kids with a sun block spray. There were no signs posted prohibiting the use of sun block spray and lots of other guests were using it with no one reprimanding them. Meanwhile, the place is old and shabby and in a desperate need of major repairs. The smell of mold permeates all the rooms especially in the kitchen areas. Carpets are old and moldy, sheets and pillow cases have blood stains and bathroom locks are permanently broken. You're better off finding a better, newer and friendlier place for a little more money! Shape up and change your attitude Lotus Inn, you're a Disgrace!
google avatar

Iz L.

Yelp
Don't be fooled. It's all smoke and mirrors. Can't use grills. Wifi doesn't work. Continental breakfast non existent. Cable doesn't have Disney as stated in their advertisements. Never coming back here regardless of the promotions.

Robin Z.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the g townhouses and was very glad we did ..there was lots of room and when you first walk in you have the it's not plush but it's nice (only because it's quite high per day) but then after a few days it grows on you and you feel at home. Very clean !! We cooked our breakfasts and made great coffee, though the water was bottled I didn't like the tap water ..So close to the beach made it all worthwhile .. very friendly staff but no free water .. 1.50 after spending a ton when I asked if they had a water bottle was a little like ok but I get it though you have a business to run .. the ladies in the office were so nice & very accommodating ..the kids didn't mind it was a mile walk to the action at the boardwalk .. the stars would've been 5 if the elevator was better but the bedrooms were very spacious and the ac was exceptional so I'd say worth all stars !!

Yelp
My mom is rather picky when it comes to staying in a hotel. The Lotus Inn is impeccably clean hotel with updated rooms with lots of amenities. Rooms are pretty large. Our family of six adults stayed in the type "F" two headroom efficiency and never felt like we were on top of one another. The staff is very accommodating. My only suggestion is bring your pillow if you enjoy sleeping with two pillows. We will be back, Mom approves!!

Cynthia Y.

Yelp
The customer service at this Inn is superb. I am a very light sleeper, and requested a fan so the air would circulate better into the 2nd room of the suite, and they happily brought a fan to the room within the next hour. They have a lending library for books, too, on the honor system which thrilled my husband and I, who love, love love beach reading and are always on the look out for another great read. The place was very clean and the view of the ocean was full (not a side-angle view) and beautiful. Our trip was last-minute & so we reserved our room super late in the season, and even though our room was right by the elevator, there was no noise from that. The other guests in the place seemed very nice...everyone there to have a vacation like us (no loud partying, etc). Even tho there were a few quirks -- flat bedsheets instead of fitted -- and a layout of the room that could have been designed better for air flow, we'd go back again for a reasonably-priced stay at a great beach. I'd never been to Wildwood Crest before, and enjoyed exploring. Doo Wop Coffee Shop is a fun must (nearby) if you go. And ten minutes to Cape May...

Yelp
Have been going to the Lotus Inn for our family vacations for years. Never had any problems. Very clean hotel..they are updating the rooms which are looking good..just got new flat screen TVs and new quilts for the bed. Brand new pool was installed with a waterfall 2-3 years ago. Great location as well. There is no hotel in front of the Lotus so we get great views of the ocean. The continental breakfast they give their guests is great..bagels, cereal, toast, oatmeal, etc. My family and I usually go in late June and late September and never had problems with the cleanliness of the rooms. Every Thursday in the summer they BBQ hotdogs for their guests. Very family friendly and smoke free facility. The whole staff at the Lotus Inn is very nice. We will continue to go back for our family vacations every year.

Harriet S.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to go down for the weekend to Wildwood Crest and stayed at The Lotus Inn. What a gem of a place. It was right across the street from the beach and the view was so inviting. The staff was so friendly and helpful, from suggesting places to eat and things to do. Definitely will come back!!!

Sean D.

Yelp
Needs a closet in the bedroom NOT in the living room. Needs an AC unit in family room as well because AC unit in bedroom isn't strong enough And most of all, the INTERNET CONNECTION SUCKS. Can't connect and if it does, it's only for a minute or 2 at a time. Definitely gotta fix that these days

Yelp
My family has been vacationing in Wildwood for the past 16 years and have stayed at the Lotus Inn several times each year the service, cleanliness and friendliness of management has declined dramatically. First they advertised the suite we stayed in sleeps up to 10 people but only permitted 6 people (2 of which were a 1 year old and 6 year old - who counted as adults) therefore my daughter had to reserve her own room leaving 2 double beds and pull out couch totally empty in our room. Nothing like taking the consumer any way they can, right? Costing us an extra $700. Next we did not want room service one day but was told we had to have room service every day it was their policy - okay but then why did they skip a couple of days when we actually wanted it?? The policy is probably in place because of the bugs (which looked very similar if not identical to cockroaches) that were found in my daughter's room. Next we got a phone call at 9pm at night for my daughter to move her truck immediately because it was on the one parking line. Okay we complied but what about the other 5+ vehicles that we counted the next morning that were parked on lines or over the lines, were they called? If so why weren't they made to get out of bed to move their vehicles? Bathroom vent did not work, TV kept shutting off, wifi that did not work etc. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the picture. This was the worst hotel stay we have ever had and will never be returning. I would not recommend the Lotus to anyone who actually wants to enjoy their stay. Stayed June 2016

Amy B.

Yelp
Cleanliness wise, it wasn't that bad. Sure the carpet is dingy but it's not like I spend much time on the floor/barefoot anyway. What really got under my skin was their horrendous wifi. Just as a heads up, don't connect your phone to it. It will constantly be straining itself to find a strong connection and completely drain your battery. I honestly do not know why they claim to offer wifi when it takes 15-20 minutes to load a page. Another turn of was their narrow, five and a half foot pool which is filled with little kids most of the day. If it was a bit wider and deeper, I wouldn't mind; 'cause you know, I'd be able to put some space between me and the little ones. The position of the hotel is also very unfortunate for those who like to tan. The hotel property is entirely in the shade by about 1 o'clock. Luckily, it's a short walk to the beach but it's a real bummer on the days you want to stay near your room or around the pool. Be prepared for a lot of rules. The owners are very strict. I'm not to fond of having to sign up for a half hour slot to use the grill. But all the other rules are pretty standard.

Yelp
We needed a room in September during Roar to the Shore 2015 at the last minute - there were very few hotel choices as area hotels were booked. Friends with whom we were traveling found this place, so we booked a room. He warned us that there would be 50 questions upon booking over the phone - and there were - it was almost comical. We were asked if we were smokers. Hmm. The hotel can state that smoking is not allowed on the premises, but to ask if you are a smoker? That is blatant discrimination. We booked a "suite" because it was all that was available. Sounds luxurious - it was not - nor did we expect it to be - just provided extra space. We realize that oceanfront hotels in any popular area are pricey, and this was not expensive at $145 (approx) w/taxes, etc. Positives: given that the furniture and everything in the room were most probably from the 1950's, the room was as clean as it could be as were the linens. The negatives: Elevator was inoperable when our friends checked in leaving them hauling their luggage up 4 flights of stairs. American Express isn't accepted. We had to leave a cash $20 room key deposit - they still used metal keys which can be copied. There was only one AC unit to cool this "suite" and it was located in the bedroom. It was loud and didn't effectively cool living room area. Wi-Fi did not work on any of our devices - not just Apple - so my check mark below designates"NO" to the Wi-Fi question. Pillows are uncomfortable - bring your own. If you plan to swim in the pool - bring your own towels - they aren't provided. The included breakfast was nasty - coffee was stale. The parking spaces are designed for small cars. The questions upon booking and checking in left us with this creepy feeling that we were being watched, and any infraction of their lengthy list of rules would leave us ejected. In short, there are many many other places to stay - avoid this hotel.

It was the last weekend that they were open. The person on the phone made a very big deal about booking their big 3-bedroom condo for one night. Made the place sound like the taj mahal....NOT. We found head hair on pillows and pubic hair on blankets. The lock on the balcony was broken....real safe! When we complained to the manager, she didn't know how to handle it. We had to make the suggestion to give us half our money back. She should have offered to give us a full refund! They also have this policy about smoking. Guests have to sign something to adhere to their non-smoking policy. We have to follow their rules. What about the Lotus Inn taking care of their rooms for their guests? Won't be going there anymore.

Yelp
This has been our inn of choice for the last times we came to wildwood. The larger suite style rooms show a creative reuse of an old motel. The pool is on the small side and non-chlorinated not sure if it was saltwater or a chlorine substitute. There are many rules here but it makes for an enjoyable peaceful stay. They even have an option to reserve time on a grill and cook at the motel. There is a free continental breakfast each morning and beach carts for rent in the lobby. Like most of the motels in the area it is dated on the inside but that's part of the charm of this beach town. The staff was non-intrusive and accomodated our late arrival. The parking for suites is in a walled in parking area. Wifi is a bit slow and spotty but 4g works here for my carrier so I was ok. The office staff does keep notes on you and will comment on observations from your last stay. Like they remembered the last time we came down was for my birthday and we came later this year.

Yelp
I was introduced to the Lotus by my boyfriend and his family which have been going there for many years. I would not want to stay anywhere else but the Lotus. It is a nice and quiet atmosphere in the middle of everything to do. The staff is always warm and welcoming and I am looking forward to booking my next stay with them as well. The only recommendation I have is that they swap the flat screen televisions from the kitchens to the bedrooms since that is where most of the tv watching takes place. Otherwise, two thumbs up Lotus! Keep up the great work!

Yelp
Been staying here on and off since '99. No complaints. Staff/owners are very nice and accommodating. Rooms are always clean. Read some reviews which were funny. Take care of things as if they were your own and you won't have a problem. Don't invite people over when they are not paying guests. Common sense no? Pool was great. In season continental breakfast. Hot dog cook outs. Family friendly. Beach is across the street. I'll be back again!

Yelp
My family has been staying at the Lotus on and off for quite a few summers. Great spot at the Jersey shore. Ocean front with great views, reasonably priced. Judy at the front desk is a pleasure to work with- she helped us book our reservation and she was there to check us in when we arrived. The owners do have quite a few rules in place - no spray sun screen (understandable - that stuff can do some damage to carpets, walls, etc.) if you reserve the grill, they keep a strict 30 minute schedule. Be prepared for the the owner to stop by to remind you that your time is almost up! That said, I can only imagine the amount of work it takes to run a hotel, and they run a tight ship and do a good job. Rooms are clean- a bit outdated, but so are most of the hotels/ hotel rooms in the area. Another great family vacation in the books for us. We will be back!!

Yelp
Have been staying at the Lotus in for at least seven years or more. My family loves the close range to the beach and boardwalk. I like how it fits into the budget. Breakfast is quick and easy, and the kitchenettes are helpful for lunches. Saving up to stay longer if possible for next year.
