Old charm hotel which I’m sure has seen its glorious days. I can imagine celebrities and dignitaries staying and enjoying this huge hotel with its glass ceiling where the sun rays brighten up the hotel lobby. The circular design feels classy where you can see everyone room from every floor right down to the lobby. The rooms are big and surprisingly everything in my room works including the bathtub. The carpets are clean and the traditional wood carving in the room brings out the charm of northern Thailand. I have planned my next vacation and have booked Lotus Hotel already. I will tell my friends and family about this old grand dame, The Lotus Hotel Pang Suan Kaew.

Quite an old fashioned hotel and looks a bit tired in places . Don't let that put you off though it's full of old fashioned fancy hotel charm . The lobby makes you think of the hotel from The Shining. Big rooms with excellent showers and a big bath tub. Huge swimming pool and a decent buffet breakfast. Staff were super friendly . Great location if you like bars and restaurants.

Apart from the check in process, this place was a beautiful hotel to spend some quiet time at. They are very strict about the check in time and I had to crash in the couch for around 5 hours before they could check me in at 2PM. The staff could be more polite but are helpful. Accepts card payments. The whole traditional aesthetic to this hotel is very appealing and the rooms are just beautifully maintained. It can get very quiet but it’s a peaceful quiet. I would suggest lighting up the outdoors a bit as it looks a bit dull during the night. The breakfast is also very luxurious and clean. Overall a very good experience.

For the price this was a great overnight stay. Service was okay, reception staff seemed a little stern. Rooms were dated, but still comfortable. Location is good for exploring both the old city and the hip nimman district.

The hotel boasts an expansive size and features a stunning lobby that immediately captures attention. The interior exudes a classy and vintage charm, creating a nostalgic atmosphere with its retro vibes. The carpeted floors and wooden decor throughout add to the old-world charm. Even the rooms transport you back in time, furnished with vintage elements like an old box television, classic furniture, and a retro phone. The cleanliness and tidiness of the place, along with ample space for relaxation and conversation, were commendable. However, a downside was the absence of a water hose in the toilet. The bathroom offered both a bathtub and a shower area. Moving on to breakfast, it was a delightful experience with a diverse array of options. The pool, though impressive, opens at 9 am. The staff, while generally satisfactory, faced a language barrier for some. One notable service offered was a late check-out option until 4 pm for an additional 300 Bhatt per room. The hotel's location, a convenient 5 to 7-minute walk from the main road, makes it ideal for couples or families. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to return, considering the positive aspects and the unique retro charm that sets this hotel apart.

Very happy to stay with this Hotel couple of days. It’s located in great area easy to be picked up by bus or taxi. Staffs are friendly. This is a large sized hotel corporates with many travel agencies. It also offers breakfast and dinner buffet with reasonable price.. I ordered food delivered to room in 15 minutes. My room was on 8th floor. Facility is a bit outdated but I will recommend it based on its price and location.

I stayed for 8 nights. Overall it was very nice, the rooms were spacious and the pool is massive. The cleanliness isn’t great, my room floor had some leftover food and the pool water needed cleaning desperately. I would still recommend it because I think it’s great value for money.

I came at the stated check-in time, 2 PM, they told me the room is not ready until 3 PM. So I decide to check out the ‘shopping mall’ attached to the hotel. Completely abandoned. Looked and felt like a mix of Titanic and The Shining. In the US this would be prime real estate for a homeless village. The aesthetics of the hotel reek of Chinese 80s cheapness. Everything is worn down. The bar, too, looks like something Jack Torrence sat down at. I have heard rumors the hotel is haunted, too. ||Pros:|- Massive rooms|- Best view in the city|- Good location |- Grand pool|- Makes you feel like an 80s used car salesman on vacation with LOTS of coke||Cons:|- Old wall sockets, two pronged, can’t charge electronics|- Inconsistent service, water bottles not always delivered|- Morning buffet was weak, very weak by Thai standards, outcompeted by America’s Motel 6|- Dinner Buffet (only on Thursday and Sunday) was even worse. 600 baht for mediocre food when world-class dining is a 5 minute walk away|- Serious need for renovation, most furniture is clearly from the 80s and hasn’t been maintained at all|- Too much fragrance in bedding, bad for sensitive individuals with allergies||It’s a great place if you want to feel like a King on the cheap. For the price of a homeless dude’s shack in Seattle, you can stay at this (formerly) luxurious hotel. Don’t forget to take a few pictures (not too close) to make your friends and family jealous :)
