What's your favorite type of music 🎶? I pretty much listen to any type of music but as of today I'd probably say my fave is jazz 🎷... When I was younger, it was rap 🧢. Some would say I stopped listening to rap that much cause I grew up. I think I stopped listening to rap cause modern rap is just bad. 👎 Sorry, I don't like it. I still love old-school rap but I just can't with what's made nowadays, especially in France 🇫🇷. In Amsterdam 🇳🇱, we went to a bakery called Louf for breakfast. And you know what I liked the most about the place? The music of course! Old-school US rap from the 90s and 00s. 🤩 Thanks to that, and because the decor was nice, I thought the place really had a cool vibe. 👍 But, isn't the food the most important?, you'll ask. Well, everything is important but, yeah, if the food is not good... And I must say I was kinda disappointed by the pastries 🥐 , even though they looked perfect. The almond croissant was surprisingly good but the cinnamon swirl was terrible: super dry yet greasy; from the 1st bite I knew I would feel sick afterwards. I guess it was fried. Definitely not what I expected. And I did feel bad afterwards. 🤢 The staff was nice but they just mixed all the food on the same plate, no matter if it was sweet or savory: kinda weird. And can anybody tell me what happened with the foam on my espresso ☕? 🤔 The prices were reasonable for Amsterdam: €23 for 5 pastries / sandos and 3 hot drinks. 👍 . . . Quality & taste: 6/10 Quantities: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 7/10 Service: 7/10 How I felt afterwards: 6/10

I absolutely love this place. It’s the only place where there is always a huge selection of baked goods — both sweet and savory. You can also buy bread to take home. All of their products are made entirely with sourdough, which is very beneficial for gut health. I have irritable bowel syndrome and intolerances to certain foods, but I can eat this bread calmly without worrying about cramps or pain. That’s truly wonderful. I’m also very grateful to the staff for treating their work with such love and joy. To bake good bread, you need to be a kind and compassionate person, because only such people are truly meant to work with bread. When dough is handled with care, the result is delicious. Thank you.

Excellent pastries and coffees! Honestly we couldn’t get a photo of the full pastry as we dived right in 🤣 Note, they don’t offer matcha lattes if that’s your thing.

Nice bakery! - The reason why I don’t give 5 stars is that I don’t go crazy for their options, like the type of pastries they propose. I do recognise they’re tasty and good quality but I tend to like slightly different options in a bakery - Prices are okay! - Location is in oud west close to busy areas of the city and its well connected - the atmosphere inside is 10/10 because the aesthetic and interiors are absolutely great, really loved the vibe there. There are some seats and it was great to be reading there - staff was friendly! Maybe for my taste it’s not my cup of tea as a bakery but I know it’s still very popular and of high quality

Inspired by a Sourdough starter bakkerij louf began in 2022, the first location opened by friends soon yielding two more with each retaining its focus on careful craftsmanship plus good Ingredients served in a comfortable space. Open from 08h00 to 15h00, the oud-west storefront an ideal place to sit outside during summer, choices come both sweet and savory though personal predilections lean into items such as a beautiful spiral Cardamom Roll with butter bolstering the aromatics. Connecting with local farmers for Meats and Produce, the toppings to Sandwiches on Sourdough, louf’s “Honey Bun” takes that starter and sweetens it slightly beneath a crust with good chew in stark contrast to the shattering Pain au Chocolat. Not ignoring more interesting items, a Cookie with big chunks of Chocolate finding new heights thanks to Sesame Seeds, fans of Shortbread will fall head over heels for Gateau Breton made just as it is in Brittany.

What an amazing place! If you in oud west then louf is a MUST. You will probably read other reviews dedicated to the amazing pastries they offer but I would like to point out the atmosphere in this place: an amazing service and people enjoying themselves inside, by the street and even in the park a few steps away.

This is a vibrant bakery with limited seating for dining in, they offer some outdoor benches which will be nice if it is not raining. They have a huge crowd coming for their pastries but cashier is efficient so wait is short. Their baked goods are excellent. I enjoyed my special cheese and cranberry sauce sandwich; they complement each other perfectly. This bakery is definitely worth another visit for their pastries!

A local bakery that gets crowded in the morning. Very nice service, and the pastries were also great.
