Had a wonderful experience here! Ryan is an amazing bartender, and awesome person in general. (He was very kind to me when I was having a very bad day!) I ordered the fried cheese curds and filet, and both were excellent. Also really enjoyed the Tempranillo and espresso martini. Will definitely return next time we are in the area!!

I survived Costco on a Saturday and was looking for a spot in the area with a patio for a glass of wine when I stumbled upon Louie’s. The patio is small, but it’s right in the afternoon sun and it was empty on a weekend afternoon. As an added bonus, they have Happy Hour from 3-6 EVERY day (and all day Monday). We ordered a bottle of wine and chatted with our server, Ryan, who was a delight. Eventually we ordered a round of brussels sprouts and he brought us a round of beignets to pair with them, which was kind of him. I’m pretty picky with my desserts so I wasn’t a personal fan of the beignets though the couple we shared them with raved about them. The brussels sprouts were a 10/10 for me. The inside of this place was super cute and I plan to return for another round of wine and dinner soon!

Nice food with good options to dine in. Loved the wine. Lobster mac n cheese, spicy shrimp were good. Fish & chips were okay.

Everything about this place is top-notch. Every dish was delicious, and we left quite full!

Google
One of our favorite kitchens in Saint Louis ✨ The atmosphere is very cute and comfortable. The drink and food menu offers something for everyone - filled with remarkable taste! And if the weather is nice, can always take advantage of their outdoor patio.

Google
This is the first rating I’ve given to any restaurant but it’s well deserved. I felt bad not telling the world about their chicken piccata with how often I’ve been ordering it (and via delivery no less). I’ve also dined in and the staff is great at any time of day. This is a truly great restaurant and bar. Thank you for your devotion to quality!

Google
I was seated promptly and ordered Beignets and an Old Fashioned. My server, Daniel was friendly and checked on my satisfaction. The atmosphere was lively, though I was seated near the cash register corner next to a group of somewhat loud colleagues who got noisier after a few drinks. Despite the noise, it was an pleasant experience overall. ** UPDATE ** I returned again a month later in August and sat at the bar. Daniel made my Hot Toddy and remembered me as the lady with thw laptop, how awesome!

Google
OK, go see Kelly(manager), Alex(waiter), and Mariah(hostess)! They were amazing! Food was really good! They provided great service and had really great personalities! Oh, and the mimosas were on point! I felt good coming in but between them and the "Almost bottomless mimosas" I was feeling REALLY GOOD when we left. This place is a must try. Check them out when your in Clayton!

Yelp
Great food and service. They were out of a few menu items and the restaurant was freezing but i would go back.

Yelp
This is my second time at Louie's; I don't really remember what I ordered during my first encounter, but I know I sent something back and I think it was the brussel sprouts. ANYWAY, I do know I came here alone both times and both times the customer service was great. Rudd was my server this time; he was very pleasant, patient and helpful. He checked on me periodically and helped me decide on an entrée. I started with a glass of Prosecco. It was perfectly bubbly. I ended up getting Emily's harvest salad. It was SO good. I love goat cheese and it was perfect in the salad. The bacon bits were a perfect accompaniment! The only bad thing was that my chicken was not seasoned well at all, and it was overcooked. There was 1 or 2 pesky gnats flying around but it's gnat season unfortunately, not the restaurants fault. I will definitely be back. I want to come back and try dinner and brunch.

Yelp
Ryan was our server! Upon walking in , I had reservations and staff made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Seating was quick. Ryan was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Well lit building. Seating is close to the next party , that's the only con I have. No privacy. My friend and I both ordered an rose drink that was dry-fruity and once explained to Ryan that we didn't like it he immediately found a solution of ice and sprite and muah we were back smiling again, also ordered were beignets and they were yummy! Fresh and fluffy. It comes with rum sauce that is delicious! I will definitely come back for food and drinks for their happy hour.

Yelp
Came across this place looking up happy hours in Clayton for a meeting after work. One of the main reasons I'm giving them five stars is because even though they were booked with reservations, they still made it work with my Party as long as we agreed to be out within a two hour timeframe before the next large party came in. Any business owner knows this is risky because things can go over, but they accommodated us and we accommodated them so I commend them for that especially with it being so last minute. Now, as far as the ambience of the place, it was very wine cellar type of decor, which was great. It goes perfectly with the name of the restaurant. They had bar seating options, table options, as well as booth table combination, which I think it's always important to have multiple seating types. They served our party pretty fast and all the drinks and appetizers were enjoyed. We did not try regular menu items. We shared appetizers only but all the ones that we did share, we were impressed and everybody agreed that they would come back again. Not only were the appetizers different than typical stuff you could get around, they were also very flavorful so I was thankful for that.

Yelp
We brought a group of loyals two weekends ago after they closed (3:15) and were bummed so went out of our way to make a reservation and plan time accordingly to hang out this weekend. After making a 2:30 reservation on their website we were turned away saying reservations should have been closed

Yelp
Great spot for a drink and light bites with friends! I had a glass of Tempranillo that was delicious, good atmosphere- lively and loud. (May not be the best place if looking to have an intimate conversation) We had a great server behind the bar who was fun and attentive!

Yelp
Louies Wine Dive and Kitchen was a cute little spot located in Clayton, the host that greeted us upon entering was nice and friendly, my waiter Ryan was a ball of fun he was great at telling us what was a popular drink to order on such a hot day which was a Rose', it was a dry wine and I'm not a fan of dry wine and when Ryan asked how was it and i said its okay he recommended adding a splash of sprite which made the wine much better, I had other dinner plans so instead of ordering food I ordered a dessert of beignets with rum sauce and they did not disappoint. I've never had a beignet before but the host did tell me that they are very similar to the ones that you can get in New Orleans. If ever in the area again I would go back to this restaurant for a bite to eat and the beignets again.
google avatar

Erika C.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the Harvest Salad (it was huge!) and I was impressed with the service from the waiter and quickly the food came. Great brunch spot if you're in the area.

Kristi F.

Yelp
Disappointed with the food and how it was handled. My hash was served with burnt potatoes and missing the hollandaise that comes in the meal. Server brought over a side of hollandaise offered to bring new potatoes basically when I was done. For $20/hash I would appreciate a correctly prepared meal. Note, manager never came over.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Louie's Wine Dive. My friend and I sat at the bar, which was surprisingly not packed for a Saturday night. I started with a glass of sauvignon blanc (peary and bright and delicious) and Whit's Whips (3 dips with crackers and veggies). The dips rotate, which is a fun surprise. I had the burger and my friend got the fish and chips. We both couldn't stop raving about our food. The bartender was amazing, and made great drink recommendations!
google avatar

Erika L.

Yelp
Came here for dessert and loved the peach cobbler and the beignets, so so tasty! However, the best part about this place is the service and the friendliness of the staff- from the host to our server and other workers, everyone stopped to make small talk with us, which makes or breaks your experience here! The ambience is also warm and cozy which is so nice!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service on the lunch rush from Eric! My friend enjoyed her harvest salad, and I absolutely was impressed with the short rib sandwich. Busy place with a fun atmosphere- hope to be back soon

Yelp
I went here with a group of women on a Saturday at 11:30. We had made a reservation weeks in advance. The restaurant was completely empty, but we waited about an hour all-told... Although the waiter frequently stopped by, he didn't seem keen to actually take our orders and kept walking away! When we DID finally get to place drinks and then food orders, they took an inordinately long time to arrive. We all found this really odd because the place was a ghost town. I am giving it 3 stars, however, because everyone liked what they ordered and the ambience was nice.

Yelp
The food was great, the staff stayed present and was friendly. We went for Mother's Day and were expecting to wait and we were seated right away. The vibe was intimate and small. We will be back!

Yelp
I have been to this place a few times and it's been consistently good. They have a great ambiance and service. We tried the 4 pork gnocchi and the spicy shrimp diablo. Both the dishes were very good. We tried a few of their cocktails - a few different Mezcal cocktails and it was good. They have happy hour every day from 3-6 PM. For dessert, we had the beignets. It lived up to the expectations!
google avatar

Parker B.

Yelp
We had a reservation on a Saturday night. I went with larger group and our food came out quickly. I got a drink that had chili oil in it. I typically like spicy drinks but I couldn't even drink it. I got the chicken piccata for my entree. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. The chicken came with brussel sprouts and potato's.

Yelp
Gold star for Louie's Wine Dive! After an event with limited food options, Louie's stayed open to feed a group of 10 of us. The spinach and artichoke dip, crispy Brussel sprouts, chips & dip, and shrimp tacos were a delightful treat. Louie's is known for its great wine, locally sourced cuisine, and hang out spots for friends. Located in Clayton. Stop in and give them some love! Lunch and Dinner! Heather now thinks her lime squeeze is the best.

Yelp
Louie's is one of my favorites. I recently brought a friend on her visit to STL. We showed up early for our reservation and they were able to accommodate and get us a table right away. We split the Brussels sprouts and squeaky cheese to start (10/10!) and got chicken piccata and filet deburgo for entrees. Both were so good!! We were so full but can never pass on those beignets so we ordered them to go (best decision). This is a great spot for friends or dates. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Pooja V.

Yelp
Great service. Great drinks. All the cocktails are excellent. Food is great too. The spinach artichoke dip was so creamy and delicious. I got the spicy diablo for entree and it was actually spicy. I love that they post specials on the board and have different things all the time. The decor is nice and simple.
google avatar

Jane S.

Yelp
Really good food, the ambience was great. Took a bit to get the food because of a slight mishap, but the servers took care of an immediately great tacos at the bar.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
I will have to come back to try all the wonderful menu items I didn't get to this time! Louie's hosted a group of 8 colleagues of mine for our work lunch and it was perfect. The service was incredible, attentive and our server never forgot something. The food was great, though a colleague did not enjoy her Mac and cheese as much as her salad. The Squeaky Cheese was a hit with some fantastic aioli. When I come again, I want to try a sandwich since those looked delicious. My ravioli was good but rich. Definitely a heavier meal than I intended for lunch. Come here for date night or drinks and lunch with friends!
google avatar

Jennifer U.

Yelp
We came 45 minutes before the dinner menu was available so we settled for some appetizers. It's was clean, cute and we had good service. I'll have to come again for dinner before I solidify my rating. The artichoke dip and the mozzarella cheese balls were amazing!
google avatar

Lexi M.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for years! And I got to go with my best gals for a great night out! They had a very nice cocktail menu and a food menu to swoon over! Of course they had some great wines and wines by the glass that I was fairly impressed with, but I was very pleased with my cocktail for the night. I ordered the herb crusted fish and was so pleased with my order. It was perfectly cooked and the asparagus was so tasty. We then asked our waitress her recommendation for dessert and she said hands down, the tiramisu. I will say I have to agree with her. It was such a delectable dessert and I was wowed by the flavor. It was a great meal, with great company and amazing service. Our waitress had us smiling from ear to ear all night!

Yelp
Omg this place is phenomenal. We literally came here for a glass of wine and cheese and ended up staying for dinner. It's not super big, but we were able to snag the patio table which was perfect. Service was great for our whole meal. We split a couple bottles which was perfect. We started out with the cheese board which had some fantastic options and tasted great. I had a hard time deciding what to get for dinner because everything looked so good! I ended up with the ravioli and was not disappointed. It was AMAZING and so flavorful. I will absolutely be back, they blew me out of the park.

Yelp
We order lunch for pick up or dine in for lunch/dinner a few times a year. We have consistently had good service and the food is always good, fresh and tasty! I definitely recommend their salmon salad!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is awesome! The staff is always so friendly and helpful with making selection. The appetizer and entrees were amazing. It's the perfect atmosphere for date night or just a girls night out. I love supporting this establishment.

Yelp
The service and ambience were great. Parking was easy to figure out (street parking). I had the breakfast skillet.

Yelp
Louie's Wine Dive is a great place to grab some food, great drinks and wine! Louie's has a great selection of wines and cocktails! It is easy to make reservations and once you arrive staff are very friendly and welcoming. They quickly pull up your reservation and take you to your table. Both times that I have been there, service has been excellent! Staff greet you as you enter and the server comes to the table a few minutes after you are seated. The food is delicious! I have had the 4 pork gnocchi and shrimp tacos and both were very good! The shrimp tacos are on the starters menu, but definitely enough for a meal. On one of our visits we had a show to see and the server was very helpful and did a great job of being attentive and quick to make sure we were in and out in enough time to head to the show. Make sure you make reservations as it does get crowded! There is bar seating and both booth and table seating in the dining area. They have a great wine selection for a glass or a bottle to share. Check out Louie's Wine Dive for a fun atmosphere with great food, cocktails, service and wine!

Cathy R.

Yelp
We really liked our dishes. I had a breakfast burrito that was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful. We were able to park on the street right outside.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
Ordered the shrimp tacos and they were small but surprisingly filling. I wish there was more avocado or slaw in them. They were very heavy on the shrimp but still pretty good. Service was nice as well!

Mark E.

Yelp
Seated under an air conditioner vent. Damn near froze to death. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

Yelp
Tucked into downtown Clayton, this wine bar has something for everyone! Louie's has lots of GF options (if that's your thing) and their fryer is also gluten free, so you can enjoy the fries & cheese curds without worry! They are open for lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Their lunch menu has some great specials, which include a $15/pick two, with soup of the day, tortellini, or a salad, it's a great way to try a few things for a steal of a price. They have wine and cocktails, which change every so often, and feature wine and cocktail specials on the chalkboard wall. They accept reservations online and walk-ins! I'd suggest making a reservation if you're going during HH or dinner so you have no trouble getting a seat. A few of my favs: Emily's Apple Harvest Salad with grilled chicken, Honey Butter Chicken Sammy, Squeaky Cheese Curds, and Brussels!
google avatar

Cristina S.

Yelp
I am sure the drinks are great but the food is meh at best. My butternut squash salad had very old iceberg lettuce, no pepitas, and very dry feta. My husband was ok with his egg Benedict but to me the side potatoes tasted recycled. The drinks were fine, hard to mess up mimosa and Bloody Mary. Mia the waitress was great but stretch too thin. It looks like the food is just to support the drinks. Most patrons wet eating burger and fries. Not my thing for brunch. Disappointed.
google avatar

Mary Z.

Yelp
Louie's Wine Dive & Clayton Kitchen is a must-try. The atmosphere was packed and bursting with energy on a Saturday night. Not my top choice if you're looking to have close conversations, but a perfect upscale casual spot to share good food and drinks with friends. There wasn't an empty table in sight, so be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! They have an extensive selection of wine and drinks. The dinner menu didn't have quite as many choices, but a lot of the options had a unique little twist and caught my interest. I was happy and full by the end of dinner with all my yummy food and wine. Can't wait to come back and take advantage of their happy hour!
google avatar

Richie H.

Yelp
I've been here two times. I like the fact that you can get a lot of happy hour specials. They have really good guacamole, brussels sprouts, and cheese curds. You could also get potato chips with some dips. Atmosphere is pretty nice inside. It does get pretty loud around the bar. We made reservations, but they couldn't find it right next to the bar, which made it really loud to hear the conversation throughout the night. I ordered the four pork gnocchi. It was OK. It was overcooked on one side and they did have extra portions of the meat and better than the sauce. I would not get this again. Previously, I got the filet deburgo. That was pretty good. My only complaint about that was the portion was a bit small. Good thing we had enough appetizers to settle my appetite. Overall good experience and pretty affordable place, especially during happy hour.
google avatar

Güneş Ö.

Yelp
Tried to call them to make a reservation but got no respond. So me and my friend just walked-in and they were busy on a thursday night around 8pm. We got lucky to get the last table. Small, nice chill wine bar in Clayton. First time here and the Côtes du Rhône wine wasn't too bad. Opening a bottle is the best deal! Our waitress was friendly and she even took our order 2 minutes before kitchen closing time and served fast! This place is a great idea for after work. I'd like to come back for happy hour and try their food!
google avatar

Renee I.

Yelp
Met a group of friends here for dinner one night. We all concluded that it was an excellent choice for our dinner. Food was great. I got the fig and whipped ricotta salad, but the waitress wisely advised me that I could add salmon on. It was delicious. I love figs and salmon so I was super happy. The white sangria was pretty good as well.

Yelp
Inconsistent and Poor Customer Service I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Louie's Wine Dive. I came in for brunch with a valid, legal paper ID, one that could be scanned to verify my age but they flat-out refused to serve me. Missouri law allows businesses to accept and scan temporary IDs, so this was a choice they made, not a legal issue. (I also had my id that had been void because im waiting for my new drivers license with the last name changed as I just got married - but they refused to take that as well) What makes this even more frustrating? My friend and I are 30 years old, and just last Friday, we sat at the bar, spent $200, and were never even ID'd. Yet today, with a legally verifiable ID in hand, they refused to serve me. The inconsistency in their policies and the lack of common sense from the staff ruined what should have been a nice brunch. To top it off, the restaurant was completely empty, and instead of accommodating paying customers, they chose to turn us away. So, we left and took our business elsewhere. Given their attitude and lack of consistency, it's not surprising that no one else was there.

Yelp
Great food and service every time. I can't say I've ever said that about anywhere in stl:)
google avatar

Shawn J.

Yelp
Good food for the price. Good drinks and decent ambiance. Bartenders did not ask my name or really engage much for it being as slow as it was. I would emphasize the Dive part of the name. Will I return? Probably not due to service. Literally go next door to Napoli instead.
google avatar

Lucy Y.

Yelp
First time here. Street parking was easy to find, we were seated quickly (had a reservation), and the staff was friendly! Our server, Nathan, was great and attentive. The happy hour was nice for drinks! The ricotta salad was SO good! The Brussel sprouts were also very tasty! I got the creole salmon and it was delicious and flavorful. The halibut was also a good choice. The banana dessert was good but not my favorite. Overall I would recommend!
google avatar

Elena S.

Yelp
The two stars are for the service, drinks and appetizers. The pasta entree was horrendous, and the "beignets" tasted like raw dough with some powdered sugar melted on the outside. As someone born in cajun country these were an embarrassment to the beignet name. The gnocchi was described as a red wine cream sauce and came out with a tomato ragu. Will not be back.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were great, but what made the night for us was the service. We are brewery folks from Denver and wine is not our thing. The server was patient and took clues from our descriptions of what we enjoy and found the perfect wines for us. What a great night!
google avatar

Alina S.

Yelp
I loved this meal. I had a salad with some delicious salmon for protein and a side of Gouda Mac n cheese. Wow what an awesome and balanced meal. The service was awesome and we had a great time. My girl friends and I enjoyed the restaurant and had a nice evening chatting with our waiter!
google avatar

Joy A.

Yelp
So yummy, we got the Spinach Artichoke Dip for an app & it was easily one of the best I've had ever. My meal was the Creamy Garlic Tortellini & I added chicken, literally so good.
google avatar

Kelse S.

Yelp
Oh my gosh how had I never been here before? Louie's Wine and Dive was such a great experience. The drinks, food, and service were wonderful. I always wonder about parking on Clayton, but there is a public parking lot straight across from the restaurant, so that made it super convenient. The decor and aesthetic is so cool! It has an open and somewhat rustic feel but it is modern and has it's own special touch. The wine chandeliers were my favorite! I started out with an Aperol Spritz, but they have many house cocktails... and of course wine. Our apps were the crisp pecan Brussel sprouts: the sweet Serrano sauce mixed with the char of the Brussel sprouts was amazing! We also got an order of guacamole. It was super fresh and came with veggies (love when dips come with veggies) and these house made corn tortilla chips. It gave it a really authentic flavor. My entree was the tortellini and it was amazing- the sauce is what did it for me. It was a pesto cream with roasted peppers, kale, and Parm! The kale threw me at first from the menu, but don't knock it till you try it! I can't wait to go back for brunch on a weekend. It seems like a great spot!

Yelp
We came for dessert...@louieswinedive * And stayed for the wine, snacks, and cocktails! * The Chocolate Molten Cake was amazingly chocolatey, gooey, and so yum with the ice cream! The Beignets were just as fantastic with the rum butter sauce! Fingerlicking! * The spinach Artichoke Dip bubbling in the cask iron gave me the heart eyes and fried cheese I'll never say no to! * Bartender Mercedes hooked me up with a tasty rum old fashioned while @stlouispescatarians enjoyed a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and ice cold still for Firth! * The wine bottle wall was a dope touch, too! Real cute! * Louie's Wine is my kinda Dive! * Get you some

Yelp
Cute restaurant that was packed when I came for dinner. Glad I made a reservation on OpenTable. The volume from all the people talking was very loud. I'm not even sure if there was any music playing overhead. Lots of interesting options on the menu, like crisp pecan Brussels sprouts, Emily's apply harvest salad, Nashville hot sandwich, spicy shrimp diablo and beignets. Our waiter was welcoming and friendly. Cocktail specials $8-$10 - Refreshing, but my spicy drink wasn't spicy at all. Sinatra Burger + fries $15 - Delicious and the fries were perfectly crispy! Surf and Turf skewers $23 - Fun plating, shrimp were under cooked (gray color in the middle) but the steaks were great. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2022

Yelp
Louie's Wine Dive is such a fun spot for a happy hour. The vibes are cute, the drinks are great, and the food is delicious. We went during happy hour and I had a glass of the rotating red! It was delicious (and a great price). We also split the brussel sprouts (which were amazing, but disappeared before I could snap a picture). The filet I had was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were excellent. Service was a little slow, but overall the experience was great!
