The 27 Best Restaurants in Toronto

"The soaring walls and undulating ceiling mural which define this space on the St. Regis Toronto’s 31st floor are meant to emulate the experience of being inside a glass of whiskey, as a nod to Toronto’s Prohibition-era history as one of the world’s great distillery cities. In fact, there’s a whiskey list here that’s almost 700 bottles strong. There's nothing overly complex or offputtingly fancy about the menu here. It's French-inflected bistro fare, but where possible, the luxury dial is turned way, way up. Come here for a date night, to mark a special occasion, or to impress a colleague: the whole organic truffle chicken ($87) is a mouthwatering and satisfying classic, and the 13-layer, sky-scraping King’s Cake ($55) is unapologetically indulgent. If you're a fine dining glamor puss who thrives on a more-is-more aesthetic, add this one to your list. Especially if someone else is paying." - Todd Plummer

Had a friend come in to Toronto for the first time ever. I knew they loved hazelnut, so after a little searching, we decided to come here to get the King Cake. That being said, everything was worth coming for. The drinks were exceptional, the appies were had (tartare and oysters) were delicious. And the main courses…legitimately amazing. All four of us got different things, but we happily traded bites to allow us all to enjoy the flavours. The beef Wellington was perfect. The rack of lamb was worthy of praise. The lobster risotto was a creamy delicacy, and the steak frites were perfectly done. Our server went above and beyond to find the perfect wine from the cellar for us. And then, then the king cake…utterly incredible. Words simply fail. (They threw in some dark chocolate as well, that we didn’t have room for, but were enjoyed the next night at home with a Bacco noir. Overall, a huge highlight of the trip. Can’t believe I live here and have never been.

Amazing place to visit for a dinner! Cool and lovely design and delicious food. Finally found something new to taste. The food seems to be usual in terms of ingredients used but they cook it in a way that it opens new rich flavours. Service is great from the beginning to the very end. As we celebrated birthday we were complemented with a dessert at the end which made our visit even more remarkable. 100% recommended for visiting

Came for a birthday celebration has the birthday cake “king cake”. Was a luxurious experience. I did not pay for the bill however, with the cake it was expensive. Experience is luxury & service is great. The cake was exceptional! Father said it was the best cake he has ever had. Professionally brought out. Beer cold ! A nice thick rich chocolate was poured over the cake which enhanced the experience. Good for likely up to 8 people. Reservation was made prior, however it does look like they take walk ins.

I booked for my husbands birthday with 2 other guests. The hostess was great and we were seated at the best table in the restaurant with a beautiful view.. But our server was not the greatest, our 2 guests had not arrived yet because we were early. he began removing the other place settings without asking. Overall we felt rushed by our server, drinks took a long time because there was only one bartender working. The drinks and the ambiance are amazing, some of the food was outstanding like the steaks but the beef Wellington we found dry. I ordered the kings cake on recommendation from our server which was amazing but he brought out the cake while I was in the bathroom( I am pregnant so i couldn’t wait) with the happy birthday candles. So I missed that. Then shook his head when our table asked him bring another candle to do it again so I could be there. I literally Went to the bathroom right after I ordered the dessert. These little nuances should be picked up by a server at a restaurant of this level and price range. We would definitely come back but I would try a different dish and hope for better service. not for a special occasion. Also beware of the valet they charged one of our party $30 for parking and then myself and my Husband $70 for parking plus tip! And didn’t even bring the car to the door.

Google
A beautiful fine dining restaurant located on the 31st floor with a variety of high-end dishes to try! We tried the beef wellington and the truffle mafalda pasta. The beef wellington definitely stole the show — the flavours were so savoury and addicting. The truffle pasta was also great, but very very creamy (maybe a little too creamy). The restaurant interior is so beautiful — a perfect date spot to take great pictures! Service was also nice and attentive.

I brought my partner here for his birthday dinner and the staff was very friendly. The service was super speedy and the food was delicious. We did however feel a bit rushed out. After finishing our meals the server asked us if we wanted dessert. The only thing we were interested in was the king’s cake that we were way too stuffed for, so we politely declined. He immediately brought the bill even though I had every intention of ordering another drink and my partner wasn’t even halfway through his beer. I had also mentioned to the server prior that there was another drink that I wanted to order so him bringing the bill over immediately was extra strange. It was still very early in the night as well, so we decided to go get after dinner drinks elsewhere since it felt we were being rushed out. I should add that the restaurant was very empty and didn’t close for another two and a half hours. We also noticed that the tables around us were given complimentary chocolates after they finished their meals, we never received this. We both really enjoyed our meals and I just wanted my partner to have a great birthday. He loved his steak but it’s unfortunate the night was cut short due to a lack of customer service.

Google
Good place for a date night overall. The hostess had such great energy and the place has that relaxing atmosphere. Food wise, we had the Crab Salad, Tartare de Bœuf, Grilled Octopus, Beef Wellington and Lobster Risotto. The Octopus was a bit over but the Wellington was so delightful, would highly recommend it! Cocktails wise, the Excellence & Legacy and the New York Sour were very tasty.

Perched on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Toronto, Louix Louis offers a dining experience that’s equal parts opulent and memorable. The ambiance is grand, with soaring ceilings, rich decor, and panoramic views that set the stage for a special night out. The menu is refined and delicious—every dish we tried was crafted with care and bursting with flavour. Yes, the prices are steep, but the overall experience justifies the splurge, making it worth trying at least once. The true showstopper? The famous 13-layer King’s Cake. At $55, it’s certainly a luxury dessert, but it lives up to the hype—rich, decadent, and beautifully presented, perfect for sharing (or not). Louix Louis is ideal for a celebration, a date night, or when you just want to treat yourself to something indulgent with a stunning view. Come for the cake, stay for the vibe.

Yelp
I was looking for a spot to hang out after dinner and continue catching up with a friend who was visiting from out of town, so we decided to head to Louix Louis for some drinks. Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, it is a fantastic spot for a drink if you're looking to splurge a little and enjoy a refined atmosphere. Louix Louis has an extensive drink menu, from beers, well-crafted cocktails, to fine wine, they are able to cater to a wide range of tastes. I was particularly impressed by the selection of mocktails available for those who aren't consuming alcohol. I tried a cocktail and mocktail, and enjoyed both. The high ceilings and dark wood furnishings with gold accents give the space a warm, cozy, yet sophisticated vibe. Finally, the service here was impeccable. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like royalty adding to the elevated experience.

Yelp
Let's be honest that cake just looks great, but doesn't taste that great! I'm speaking of the chocolate cake that everybody goes for! The King cake slice. It's huge, so you definitely want to share it with some people. Honestly, I've had much better cakes and I'm not even a cake person. I only like chocolate cake specifically. 5/10 The service was very cold and not very welcoming. The service fell flat.

Yelp
The service was impeccable! We booked dinner for our anniversary and my husband requested vegan gluten free items for me. Chef Luigi curated a wonderful menu with options for me and hubby ordered off the regular menu. He had oysters and steak. I had a beautifully dressed pear and walnut salad with a tempeh and vegetable entree. For dessert they made a fantastic vegan, gluten free brownie with sorbet and berries. I was totally stuffed! Hubby had a mocktail and we finished with tea and coffee. The servers (Salim and his partners) and the manager were kind and attentive. The rooftop patio is lovely and the view from our table was the lake peeking through various towers. The ambiance was nice and the bar/decor was classy.

Yelp
An upscale establishment at the Regis hotel. The interior is impressive, really high ceilings and really pretty on in the inside. The restaurant is on the 31st floor so you should have a nice south west facing view. The service was a rather disappointing for the price point of the restaurant. On a rainy day, there was nowhere to put my umbrella or my wet coat... Service was a bit inconsistent even for a not so busy day. Our water was constantly being refilled (perhaps since it was $9 a bottle). Our table was brushed off once between bread and appetizers but not before entrees? Bread + butter - Maybe we came by late, but bread was a bit underwhelming. Butter visibly had herbs in it, but did not have much flavouring. The interior of the bread was fluffy, but dry a bit disappointing... Burrata - My favourite cheese, a melange of textures and pairs well as a salad and a sweet fruity dressing. Lettuce was excellent, fresh and crunchy. Burrata was great and fresh! The addition of nuts added a crunchy texture as well. Would recommend. Foie gras - On its own the seared foie gras isn't for everyone, including myself. It had a nice buttery mouthfeel, but had an innards aftertaste. It was good after spreading it ontop of the brioche toast and strawberry jam. Not for everyone. King salmon - King salmon came sitting ontop of a lake of black lentils. The Lentils themselves were dry, but had a good texture. The tomato paste was excellent and saved the lentils from the lack of flavour. The salmon itself was cooked beautifully. crispy on the top and cooked just right on the inside. the top was overly salted, but the tomato paste once again saved the dish. cheese cake - The ratio between jam to cheese to crust was my favourite I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I did not like the jam as it was too tart for me. The white chocolate on the side did help with this. Nice to try, would not get again. In all, considering service, quality of food and cost, I cannot recommend this place.

Yelp
Celebrated a birthday dinner here and was blown away. The complimentary baked bread with truffle butter was a standout--perfectly soft, fluffy, and lightly salted. It was so good, we asked for seconds. We started with the burrata with tomatoes and basil, which was delicious and much bigger than expected. The filet mignon for the main course was expertly prepared and incredibly filling. We finished with their famous 13-layered cake, which lived up to its reputation--a massive slice, beautifully made, and the staff even added a birthday message and candle. The ambiance was amazing, especially in the lounge area. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return.

Yelp
The service was expected from this type of restaurant - the food was nice but disappointed with the dessert. We had a 1:30 pm reservation and by the time we got to dessert which was not even close to 3 pm it was mostly gone. I asked if they were bringing out some and I was told thats all they were bringing out. We had the Christmas Brunch and i have to say was disappointed. I actually sent an email to the restaurant and the funniest replied i received how can they make the dessert better next time - uhm my reply was maybe have some dessert next time?!

Yelp
Went for a work breakfast and the dining room (on the top floor) was somewhat lively already at 8am, which was nice. The service is very courteous, and the restaurant/atmosphere itself is beautiful. The food is good, but may be more than one expects to pay for breakfast, however this is to be expected if you choose the St. Regis for breakfast. The side of potatoes were surprisingly tasty (butter?) and the shakshuka was yummy as well.

Yelp
I would come back just for the chocolate cake alone. Truly worth all the hype and honestly quite well priced considering how large the portion is (can serve 6) As for the food, the oysters were very fresh and tasty! Bread was sweet and soft! Beef tartare was also very tasty! Of the 3 mains we ordered, the wagyu short rib was by far the best! So tender and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The truffle chicken was much better than expected Overall I think the appetizers were better than the mains but everything was delightful. As for the service, the staff was very nice and friendly but when it came time to ask for something it was difficult to find someone so it did feel as if we had to wait for somebody to walk by.

Yelp
Came here for dinner, and to celebrate my birthday. We had reservations in advance, and we were seated as promptly as soon as we arrived. I got the risotto my friends got the fish and the chicken dish. We were really happy at how quickly the food came out and the quality that it was cooked too as well. We love this establishment, because the cake is what they're known for and let's just say it's worth every single penny!

Ashkan O.

Yelp
The quality of the food was below average. We tried steak frites and the appetizer with fig.

Yelp
Great food, though it's a bit pricey for what you get. Very friendly and personable waitstaff and a wonderful view of the city. I'd come here again, but only on a special occasion due to the cost.

Yelp
We went to Louix Louis for the viral and famous 30 layer chocolate cake. It was absolutely incredible. It was chocolate cake with mouse filling in the layers and ganache on the outside with gold dust sprinkled on top. The service was nice and accommodating especially because we only wanted to order dessert. It was definitely loud but overall a great experience. It is located at the 31st floor of the St. Regis, which is a beautiful hotel.

High tea was amazing lot of variety of food but then. I didnt really like where we sat... The place was beautiful.

Yelp
**Review: Disappointing First Visit to Canada and Subpar Service at Louix Louis- St. Regis** (Originally written 6/30/24) Traveled to Canada from the US for the first time, and I was disappointed with the city as a whole, especially the treatment by the waiter/waitress staff at most of the establishments I visited. When we first arrived, there was a medical incident, so the staff's attention was understandably on that guest's needs. However, during the shuffle, we lost our male waiter, who ran off to assist, and we were assigned a young lady. The duo next to us (of European descent) and my guest and I were served by the same waitress all night as we were seated nearly simultaneously (we were first), but she was definitely more attentive and engaging with them. They ordered items from each category (drinks, appetizer, entrée, dessert) on the menu, while we only ordered two drinks and entrees since we had an early flight back to the US and didn't want leftovers in our hotel room. As a result, we were not checked on as frequently and service was slow. That seemed to be a trend in Toronto all weekend. Maybe this is a slower-paced area than the US. Additionally, we had noted in our reservation that we were both celebrating birthdays, yet no one wished us a happy birthday or brought out any surprise dessert. This is customary at most restaurants, and I saw on their tagged location on Instagram just 11 weeks ago that a young lady was presented with what looked like a strawberry shortcake with drizzle and chocolate spelling out 'Happy Birthday.' I'm left wondering if we were being discriminated against for a number of reasons. I had high hopes for this place because it's at the St. Regis and has a wonderful vibe and atmosphere upon entering, but we didn't leave with the same impression. Very disappointed. **Update**: As of 7/24/24, the restaurant has stopped responding to my emails. It's been nearly four weeks, and I still haven't received the promised refund. I have all the emails to prove our communication. Initially, they claimed they couldn't refund the money to my card, even though it is a nationally accepted cc and had no problem taking the money from my card. They said they would mail me a check, and I provided my mailing address 3.5 weeks ago, but I have yet to receive anything. They even asked me to remove my Google review, which I said I would consider if I got my money back. However, given the circumstances, I won't be removing the review. It will stay.

Yelp
Louix Louis is an experience that you and your friends can skip, but wouldn't recommend against. Though I had a lovely experience, it is just not worth the price tag. Service was incredible; our server was attentive and sweet (the reason I bumped up my rating up one star), but the food was mid, and the view just didn't cut it for me. The dinner came with a complimentary bread + truffle butter combo which was delish. Our table order the crab salad, 1/2 dozen oysters, beef tartare (too buttery) for appetizers. For mains, wagyu short rib, king salmon, and the Mediterranean Sea bass (RECOMMENDED -- love the caviar beurre blanc). The oysters were way overpriced. Drinks were ok. Had the midnight milk punch, and in cadenza. I will say, I see what the hype is for the cake. It's big, beautiful, and delicious too.

Yelp
Simply Irresistible! Last year, we were accommodated on a last minute reservation for a birthday. The owner, manager, chef and servers were unbelievably gracious and professional in their service and the food was delightful! Since then, we've been frequenting this establishment because of the wonderful overall atmosphere as the dining experience is one of class and dignity. The food is always prepared with poise and care. We had the charcuterie board in the lounge to start the festivities and we must say, this was a carefully crafted work of art! Everything from the truffle cheese to the prosciutto was scrumptious and complimented one another. After we ordered, we received a complimentary warm baked loaf with homemade salted butter and an amuse bouche. For our appetizers we selected the king crab salad, the lobster bisque which was the best we've ever had (made with real seafood stock and had pieces of lobster), the foie gras was buttery and the burrata was creamy and elegantly prepared with roasted tomatoes (no cheap buffalo mozzarella slices with sloppy tomatoes here). For our mains, we ordered the lobster risotto which was creamy with delectable pieces of lobster. The branzino was impeccably prepared with accommodations made without an attitude. I asked for French fries for example, and the chef went out of his way to prepare a specialty sauce (how thoughtful)! We also ordered the charred broccolini which was done to perfection. Later we had the white chocolate mousse, cheesecake and king cake! Everything as usual was absolutely divine! I wish other restaurants could aspire to provide service the way in which Louix Louis exudes effortlessly!

Yelp
Birthday celebration. We did appetizers and cake and it was the perfect amount of food. The Kings cakes is 13 layers of chocolate bliss. I'd been looking forward to it with anticipation all week. It did not disappoint. The appetizers were all delicious. They bring fresh brioche bread to start which melts in your mouth. An amuse bouche was so amazing. Why not 5 stars? Service was good not great and personally I don't really like tiny tables with sofa seating.

Yelp
First time here and I am still full from the meal next day. We knew we over ordered but we always love a variety and will take anything home if we have to. Let me share with you the rundown of what we had: Apps: - King Crab Salad - Foie Gras Crème Brûlée - Dozen Oysters - Lobster Bisque Mains: - Lobster Risotto - Duo of Duck - Filet Mignon Sides: - Champignon de Paris - Pecorino Mashed Potato Dessert: - Strawberry shortcake I absolutely have no complaints about any of the items we had shared among 3 people. It was surprisingly really tasty and perfectly paired with a glass of Riesling. The server started off slow with no knowledge of the wine list when we had asked for white wine recommendations of Riesling or comparable whites that suit our tastes. The server needs to school herself on the beverage list. However the rest of evening was wonderful and all the staff were very attentive and accommodating. The chef made our strawberry shortcake request come true. We loved it and will return for more! Thank you Louix Louis!

Yelp
I had lunch at this place recently. Behind the open concept bar, there were ceiling high of collection of the alcohol displayed. The food was quite pricy here (expect $40-60 for lunch) and service was average. Overall, a 3.5-star experience. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese sandwich with Caesar salad, my friend ordered the halibut. The lobster tasted very fresh and was cooked perfectly. The salad was also tasty, although missing some wowing factor. According to my friend, her halibut was overcooked. There wasn't much service provided throught the meal, and the server kinda rushed us to pay the check. Overall, it was a okay place but not somewhere I would have strong intention to keep revisiting, giving there are so many choices in the area.

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
The good: Service was stellar from start to finish. Very polite and smart. We indicated we were splitting apps, and they pre-emptively split both into separate servings for us. The bread and butter were also tasty. The french fries were the tastiest thing of the evening and cooked perfectly. The good is why they don't have 1*. This place also looks absolutely stunning. The ok: the caesar salad had good flavours but the croutons were not as crispy and fresh as they should be (the in between stage of crisp and stale, which is unacceptable for the supposed caliber of this restaurant). The duck dumpling in the duck dish was also well seasoned. the meh: I cannot believe we got that green wakame salad from Costco in the lobster bisque. The bisque itself was good though a bit too spicy. The duck leg was dry, but the flavour was okay. the bad: dry, over-salted burger. Gritty, yet runny mac and cheese (very impressive -- one of the two alone would already be a failed mac, and they managed to do both).

Yelp
The customer service at this bar is BEYOND. Me and my boyfriend went for a few drinks and they were delightful There wasn't a food menu as they were just doing drinks at that time but the cocktails were excellent and it was a very fun ambiance, very New York in the 20s! Loved it! Also, if you're sitting at the bar take a look at the gargoyle statues at the base of the stools, the details are so intricate and interesting!

Yelp
We came here for drinks and dessert and had a very nice experience. The cake was delicious and attractively plated. Our drinks were very good. I got something from the specialty cocktail menu, which was as pretty as it was enjoyable! This place is high enough to get a nice view, and the bar itself is quite pretty with lighting, glass finishes, and mirrored panels. The crowd got a little sceney with people taking tons of pictures of themselves later on, but otherwise very fun!

Yelp
A fancier and bougie vibe. Food was very well-presented. Great and strong flavors. The wonton sides to the duck were great. Was here for a friend's birthday and she definitely enjoyed it.

Yelp
I stayed at the St Regis recently and stopped by to grab a drink. Beautiful aesthetic. Drinks were very good and refreshing. It was not busy at all so our server was attentive.

Yelp
FOOD: 6/10 DRINKS: 8/10 VIBE: 10/10 SERVICE: 9/10 For such a high-end place, I was disappointed in the quality of food and the cleanliness in bathrooms. The sinks have water spills everywhere and the garbage cans are not emptied leaving a pile of used tissues up to customer's display. The mirrors were not clean either. The food was not worth the price - you'd expect skilled chefs preparing dishes that would satisfy your tastebuds, but sadly it wasn't the case for my visit. It was pretty basic, nothing special. However, despite my disappointment in food and cleanliness of the bathrooms, I appreciated the service. The staff members were very welcoming and accommodating. They wrote a card with 'Congratulations!' as I went there for a special occasion, which made the visit feel somewhat special, and I appreciated that.

Yelp
Louix Louis is my must go to dining if I celebrate special events. Their service and food are always top notch. However, one down side is they don't change their menu often. This time finally they update their menu. We tried the waygu short ribs and king salmon. Waygu short rib is about 6-7oz, braised over many hours to make it tender. King salmon with lentil is another delicious entrée. Finally we ended up something different for the dessert as well! They have the cheesecake. Louix Louis is definitely worth a try, price point is reasonable since it is located in St Regis hotel. Expect $50-65 per entrée, $25-40 per appetizer.

Yelp
Oh my, this place is all over social media! I was very excited to try this place, especially since it is Drake approved. Reservations were pretty easy to make online. My friend and I decided to check out this place for a late lunch. This place is located in the fancy shmancy St. Regis hotel. I expected nothing but perfection and class. Not surprised, we were easily the youngest people there. The hostess & server were very nice and seated us in the middle of their dining area. The interior is absolutely stunning! My chair was basically a couch which was a little difficult to move but super comfortable. The menu: the lunch menu is pretty dry. There aren't many options that jump out. There is the basic fish, burger and steak. I was a little disappointed at the lack of options. I settled for branzino and my friend got a wagyu burger. The food: the food was small portions compared to the hefty price we paid. Again, there was nothing extra ordinary in what we ate. The drinks: expect to pay around $20+ per cocktail. This menu was pretty exciting and my drink tasted fabulous. My friend unfortunately did not share the same experience as the beer he had selected wasn't available. Turns out they only carry mass produced basic beers. Shocking for a fine dining place like this. The dessert: we didn't get any! The famous cake is priced at $37 and we decided it was not worth it. But hey, do it up for the gram, there is no judgement here. I'll likely be back just for the cake! Looked like a meal in itself. Our total came down to $70-$80/person after tax and tip. For lunch, that is a lot. Especially for the food we ate. I wouldn't recommend this for food, definitely come here for a drink, or two. Maybe even get that cake.

Tomoko T.

Yelp
The atmosphere and service were wonderful but for the price, the food was underwhelming. My entire group felt the same way. The wagyu eggs benedict looked and tasted like pulled pork, the smoke salmon was like a pate or paste and was not good. The waffle was dry and crepe tasted bad. 3/10 for all the food and we all left feeling depressed. Maybe it was the chefs day off.

Yelp
Just had the "Royal Breakfast for 2" and couldn't get any more disappointed than this! I visited this place before pandemic and had this breakfast which was amazing at the time. However, this time everything was so terrible , thanks to the new menu, new chef, and new management! Low quality food, poor service, and disappointing management. Food was so bad that we didn't even wait for the dessert! We complained to the manager, and he didn't even apologize. We paid $160 for a meal that I believe was one of the worst we had in a while.

Yelp
This is my second time dining at Louix Louis. The last review was less than stellar due to some difficulties with a particular server. The review made its rounds and landed in the inbox of the GM who, commendably, reached out personally to invite me back to show LL in the more positive light that had brought me there in the first place a month or so ago. The food, once again, is simply beautiful and it is almost too easy to leave absolutely stuffed and satisfied because what you get on your plate is edible art that's also not insultingly scant. The portions are just right and the flavour is spot on. So, on to the service: Full disclosure, I took the GM up on his offer to throw the best he had at us and, what was interesting was that our server apparently wasn't informed of it (or at least acted like it). Regardless, his service was impeccable and timely. He had an eye on our drinks and always seemed to appear at the right time to get us through our courses at a relaxed pace while also handling several other tables, one of which was a large party of 8. When LL is busy on a Saturday night, it seems servers rely on food runners to help with sending drinks and bringing out a course or two but our server was always attentive and didn't make us feel like he was just an order-bot. The chef joined us with the moustached Maitre D' table-side to shave some white truffles on to our first appetizer of foie gras and all seemed passionate about their vocations. Our server appeared to have once been kitchen staff so he seemed to really understand the subtlety of each dish and make great recommendations (i.e. Bourbon Short Rib), keep the table clean, and accommodate any allergies. I also noticed that the GM was attentive & handy behind the bar. Good teamwork. I mean, what more can one say other than service is what can make or break a restaurant. It builds loyalty because sometimes you just want to be looked after. This time, LL came through and lived up to its reputation.

Yelp
Beautiful bar located in St.Regis Hotel. I came here for drinks after dinner with my bf on a Saturday night, without a reservation and were lucky to get a seat at the bar right away. The vibes are really romantic and elegant, perfect for any date night. We ordered four different cocktails throughout the night and were all really tasty. We had a lovely night and will definitely be returning.

I had to update my review just to say - the old fashioned here is the best I've ever had, and it's made with gin! Pricy but I highly recommend it out of every cocktail on the list.

Yelp
Every time I come here I get great service and I really like interior design it is fantastic. Drinks are good, some of the cocktails are quite unique. It's never too loud, but it does close early.

Yelp
One of my fav places to visit! The food is always exceptional, but moreover the ambiance and service are incredible! Many thanks to our hostess Sylvia! The majestic work of art on the ceiling is worth a visit alone! This is one of my favourite places in the city for their unique lineup of cocktails and the extensive bar menu. If you're looking for the true experience, be sure to visit the lounge at 6 PM for their champagne sabrage ritual! We enjoyed live music which was lovely although a bit loud as we were seated right in front! Of course, I enjoyed my classic Paloma ! The lobster bisque poured table-side over shrimp dumplings is such a luscious and decadent delight! My octopus was seared to perfection! Not to be missed are the intricate and heavenly desserts, like this black forest chocolate dome with caramel ganache and whiskey chantilly! Their most epic dessert, although not pictured here is the 13 layer king's cake! Save that for a special occasion! Thank you for the hospitality ! I can't wait to come back soon! Yelp
Idiots trying to eat comically large chunks of cake.. Absurdly priced beverages. Absolutely stunning insta-worthy space. Interesting characters. Outstanding swank hotel breakfast. Come for the view, stay for the human zoo.

Yelp
Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis, this place seems to be quite bougie when you walk in. Unfortunately, I found both the food and service to be subpar... more on that to come. We were seated and a colleague of mine spent quite some time with the wine menu - so it was at least an hour later before we could order appetizers. We got a bunch of things to share, which came to the table after 30 minutes. In the interim, they gave us some buttery brioche with flakes of salt on the top and more butter for spreading - it smelled heavenly and was quite soft. The baby Caesar salad was quite good - a little saucy and the sun dried tomatoes were an interesting add, but nonetheless a classic. The escargot were rich and buttery, and they came with a cute flakey pastry perched on top of the cut up escargot pieces. The oysters were decently fresh, not super briny. I was a touch disappointed in the salmon tartare - it was interesting to have seaweed salad on the bottom, I didn't love the dressing (some mayo mixture) and found it to lack flavour, and I wish there were more taro chips to share. After another hour, the mains finally arrived. My colleagues got the $400 tomahawk steak to share and were a touch underwhelmed by the portion. The bone, as expected, made up the bulk of the 38oz size. I had a bite and it was cooked perfectly, medium rare, but there were chunks of fat and sinew all over. I ordered the Patagonia toothfish and was super satisfied, both by the flavour and the taste. It was buttery, rich, flakey (I'm sensing a theme here... time to pull out a thesaurus?) and melt in your mouth tender. It was served with a creamy purée, but the fish was too buttery for me already. We also ordered some garlic shrimp on the side - again, it was good and definitely for the garlic lovers, but you best not be lactose intolerant! Finally, we wrapped up with dessert. We ordered the iconic King's Cake, the 38 layer chocolate cake topped with ganache and gold flakes. It was... definitely for the eyes only! The flavour was mediocre and it was extremely dense. The waiter was so worried that we'd order two for the table (he assured me and emphasized that one would be sufficient for the eight of us) and I couldn't help but wonder how much food wastage he's seen... we literally saw a table of four order one portion, just to take a photo, then pack the whole thing home. Overall, the food was okay but the service was slow. They also made a critical mistake at the end when the bill was paid - they added an extra digit to our bill, causing our price to increase tenfold!! Fortunately, we caught the mistake (after paying the charge) and immediately rectified it.

Yelp
Popped into Louix Louis during the NHL All-Star weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Epic service from Alex our bartender and fantastic eats off the menu including beef tartare and the drinks were generous and well executed. The ambiance at the St Regis is 5-stars and rightly so. We will make it a point to return the next time we are in Toronto.

Yelp
Louix Louis was absolutely incredible! I went for dinner with my mom and had an amazing experience. The brioche complimentary bread with truffle butter melted in your mouth. I had the Salmon and my mom had the Burger. Both were delicious. For dessert, we had the King's Chocolate Cake, which was decadent yet light. The best part of our experience was our waiter, Jam. Jam was attentive, welcoming, and kind. As we were visiting from out of town, Jam took the time to write down recommendations for drinks and sites to visit during our stay. He also wrote a nice note on our delicious King's Cake. We will definitely return to Louix Louis!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my birthday with family and was so disappointed. It had pretty high ratings so our family had high expectations of this place. We ordered some oysters, escargot, crispy soft shell crab and a caesar salad to start. For main course we got the wagyu steak, cowboy steak, and sea bass. The wagyu steak was an utter disappointment. We order 2 of them, one was supposed to be medium and the other medium rare. However, both steaks came pretty much well done. We had to send it back and get it redone. For dessert, we got the signature 13 layer King's cake. Honestly, the cake itself was alright and wasn't really worth the $40. I do not recommend people coming here if you have high expectations.

Yelp
Had a little time in Toronto and heard about Louix Louis from @torontogirlsblog and immediately knew I wanted to go when I saw that slice of cake! This was a great restaurant and very lively for a Monday so make sure to make a reservation. It sits on the 31st floor of the St. Regis in downtown Toronto. I chose balcony seating which gave an exquisite view of the entire restaurant. You can also choose bar, standard table or city view seating. Loved everything about this restaurant and the service was awesome. You know it's going to be amazing when you can't get over how good the bread is lol. I had the Oysters, Waygu burger and 13 layer chocolate and enjoyed everything. Oysters with green apple are my fave so of course I was a fan. Waygu burger was delicious and so were the fries it came with. Calling all chocolate lovers! The 13 layer cake is massive and can probably serve a large group but I had my slice all to my self Definitely would love to come back. Great for dinner parties, anniversaries, professional celebrations, meeting for drinks etc. For more videos check out my IG @fashionablylatekc

Yelp
Review is purely based on ubereats order. Decided that I was $29 curious for the 13 layer chocolate cake. Despite all the pictures already posted I was still pleasantly surprised. Cake was well packaged and came with a scoop of ice cream and dark chocolate sauce. Cake was everything I'd want in a chocolate cake. Was the right amount of bittersweet and every layer was moist.

Yelp
Located in Downtown TorontoThis fine dining restaurant on the 31st of the St. Regis is inspired by Toronto's heritage as one of the largest distillery districts. The interior of this restaurant is grand and centred around their astonishing bar. We visited this restaurant for dinner and found their menu small. For appetizers, we ordered their Beef Tartare, Escargot, and Burrata Salad. The Beef Tartare was made of smoked chimichurri, wild rice, and citrus & mustard tapioca chips. We thought the dish was tasty and a good sharing appy. The escargot was bourgogne snails, pernod, and garlic & parsley butter. We didn't enjoy this as much as it didn't meet our expectations, and we found it lacking in flavour. The Burrata Salad was by far our favourite appy! It came with fresh tomatoes, red pepper jam, pomegranate syrup and spiced crumbs. We loved their platting and the added crumbs for an extra texture. For our mains, we ordered the Whole Organic Truffle Chicken, Wagyu Burger, Wagyu Striploon Steak and the Baked Cod. The chicken came half crispy and half classic, and with a side of broccoli. The Wagyu Burger came with a side of fries, and it was tasteful. The Wagyu steak was juicy and tender, one of the better menu items we ordered, and it came with a side of potatoes, beans and a green onion sauce. The baked cod was crispy, and it came with cooked greens and tomatoes. For dessert, we had to order their famous chocolate cake. Let us say... this piece of cake was huge! It came with a side of vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce poured on top. The cake was super delicious, rich in chocolate and soft. We would recommend this spot for special occasions as the items are quite pricey. But we will definitely need to return for that chocolate cake! 7/10

Yelp
We sat at the bar last night for drinks and their famous chocolate cake Our bartender Carlos was outstanding! He deserves a raise, the place was beyond packed and he was the only bartender, the manager was helping but Carlos was running the entire place and doing a fantastic job. Delicious drinks and delightful conversation with him all while he was running his tail off trying to accommodate the entire place!

Yelp
We had an incredible experience at Louix Louis - everything was spectacular. First and foremost the wait staff is incredible - so attentive, kind, prompt and friendly. Our water glasses were always filled, our plates were cleared and they always added a special touch to everything they did. The food was also great: Calamari - crispy, spicy and well seasoned Scallops - so tender, and perfectly cooked. Burratta - creamy, I wish it had some flaky salt or dressing atop. The steaks were both PERFECTLY cooked, the accompaniments were delicious and the sauces were perfect pairs. The kings cake was a show stopper in terms of looks but the taste was alright but honestly how could you not order this if you come?? Overall I'd return for a special occasion. We were also super full which rarely happens at these bougie places, we had leftovers.

Yelp
Came here for drinks for my anniversary and ended up staying for dinner! Now that tells you how amazing their service, drinks and food was! We received complimentary bread which was really soft with truffle butter which was amazing!!! My favourite drink was Four Play, it was sweet and had a pretty presentation. To start we got Oysters which were refreshing and yummy. For our main we enjoyed the sea bass, it was buttery and melted in our mouthes. We decided to get 1 main and add on grilled shrimp and the truffle Mac and cheese. All the dishes were flavourful, came out warm and on time. We also couldn't have left without trying their cake! Which came with ganache to drizzle over and it was really yummy. The customer service was exceptional! 10/10 Food 10/10 Drinks 10/10 Everything came out in a timely manner. Keep in mind that it is a pricy but worth it. Can't wait to go back for another celebration

Yelp
I went here for my birthday in the summer! The interior of the restaurant is stunning!! Too bad I didn't get to sit in the middle of the restaurant. They sat us away from the middle, towards the windows. Would've been nice to be right in the middle to really take in the ambiance. Food was good. We had the crispy soft shelled crabs and the wagyu burger. A bit on the greasy side but they were good. The highlight was definitely the King's cake. The cake itself was a slice out of a 13 layer cake. It was HUGE and looked like a condo building. It was drizzled in chocolate syrup and had gold flakes on top for that extra decadence. I wanted to go Bruce Boggtrotter on that cake. Alas, my bf and I could not finish the cake because of its size. If you ever visit LOUIX LOUIS definitely come in a group so you can actually finish the cake. The taste itself was amazing - it wasn't overly sweet and had enough dark chocolate to balance everything out. The ultimate dessert. It was beautiful to look at too with the gold flakes and the many layers. I would come back here for sure! Hopefully I get to sit in the middle of the restaurant next time. And I want

Yelp
This place is really good. The service and ambiance were amazing. Our server recommended the grilled shrimp instead of shrimp cocktail and it was superb. Their meat selection is also fantastic. The Beef cheeks were tender and juicy, totally recommend. For desserts we were a little shocked of how BIG their chocolate cake is. I would recommend getting it only if you have a party of 4 or more so you can split it. Not giving five stars only because some of the menu options were not available and we were looking forward to those. Overall a great place. St Regis never disappoints.
