I had a dissapointing visit to your cafe recently. After placing my order with a staff member named Evac (who was wearing a pink blazer and I believe is the manager), I set up a small tripod to take a personal photo (not a video) in a corner against a neutral background—just a wall and a vase, with no interior logos, no people, or sensitive areas in view and I was told it wasn't allowed.
She only backed down when I clarified it was for my personal picture.
The whole experience feel unnecessarily restrictive and created an environment of unwelcome surveillance rather than relaxing cafe experience that I was hoping for.
As a paying customer, I believe it's reasonable to expect to be able to take personal photos in a public-facing establishment like a cafe, especially when it's done without disrupting others.
This incident, which seemed to be based on an employee's personal discretion rather than a clear policy, significantly marred an otherwise pleasant outing. I hope you can provide clarity on your official policy and ensure consistent training for your staff.
I insert the picture that I set for my tripod to take my picture 👇🏻. I mean can you see that? 🐸
Replied to the comment: I choose a solid wall as the background to protect customer privacy. Before making assessment, please take a look again at background images that I inserted. As you can see, it was impossible to capture anyone in this setting.
