Awesome experience. You definitely need more than a whole day here in order to immerse in the whole museum experience. So many people and the best way for entry is buying your tickets ahead of time. Have your must see as you may not have enough time. We ate in the cafe in the louvre and food there was terrific!

Google
The Louvre is an absolute must-visit when in Paris! From the stunning glass pyramid entrance to the opulent hallways filled with masterpieces, every step inside feels like stepping into history. The Mona Lisa, of course, is the highlight—but to truly enjoy it, I highly recommend booking the earliest access and heading straight to her first before the crowds arrive. That way, you can get some amazing pictures without being surrounded by a sea of people. Beyond the Mona Lisa, the museum is a treasure trove of incredible art, sculptures, and breathtaking architecture. The gilded ceilings, intricate details, and panoramic views of Paris from its windows make it an experience that goes beyond just an art museum—it's a journey through time and culture. If you're planning to visit, wear comfortable shoes, set aside plenty of time, and be ready to be amazed!

Google
Beautiful and iconic landmark. As so often in Paris you will see things you have seen before. For example in the Dan Brown film adaptations. It’s a great spot to be.

Google
Crowded place in the weekend The Louvre Pyramid is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Paris, serving as the main entrance to the Louvre Museum. Designed by I. M. Pei, it’s a striking contrast between modern and classical architecture. Whether you love or hate its style, it’s definitely a spot you’ll find yourself taking pictures of.

Chrissy G

Google
The Louvre is an awesome place to visit; chock-full of history not just the Mona Lisa. Spent 3 hours there and still didn't see everything. The lines are insane so it's best to get tickets in advance to save time.

Sujay Sreekumar

Google
The Louvre Pyramid is an iconic structure that is right in the centre of the huge Louvre museum area. One of the major photo spots for all tourists coming to this side. When you exit the metro and get out and reach the area, this is the first thing that you notice. Also, it serves as the main entry zone into the Louvre. Huge queues already can be seen even early in the morning

Dhruv Patel

Google
Experiencing the Louvre Pyramid from the outside was delightful. Its striking modern design stands out beautifully against the historic backdrop, making it a must-see landmark in Paris.

Kevin Dederick

Google
Buy tickets in advance!! There are two major entrances and one minor. You still have to wait in line for the major entrances. They are long but they move quickly! The museum is huge! It would take you forever to see everything. Definitely worth the visit!

Manda Bear B.

Yelp
The Louvre Museum is a dazzling labyrinth of art and history, where you'll find everything from the Mona Lisa's mysterious smirk to sculptures missing a few limbs (Venus de Milo, we're looking at you). The glass pyramid entrance is a modern marvel, but good luck navigating the crowds--it's like a classy art-themed mosh pit. Worth every minute, though--just wear comfy shoes and bring your patience!

Ricardo J.

Yelp
This is a beautiful addition to the Louvre grounds. A modern counter to the older architecture, it serves as a magnificent landmark.

Randy R.

Yelp
The Louvre is one of the world's largest and most iconic museums, and its vast art collection is spectacular. Located in the heart of Paris, France, along the banks of the Seine River, this magnificent campus was once a royal palace. It's lovely, for sure! But is the time commitment and logistical hassle of seeing the Louvre worth it? Like any decision, it depends upon many factors, including your family's interests. You also need to consider your travel schedule, when you are visiting, and your willingness to endure a little stress in order to lock eyes with the Mona Lisa. I believe it's worth it. The architecture, culture, attention to details, artifacts, fossils, paintings and history is something you can't pass up. Be sure to go early or on the later side because it gets really really busy. There's so much to see other than paintings. So take your time.

Mary N.

Yelp
The Louvre is everything you would expect it to be. Very crowded, vast and full of treasures. If you are in Paris, you have to do it. We paid for a private tour to see the highlights. It is so large that you can spend days there if you want to see everything.

Britney M.

Yelp
The coolest Pyramid around! (except for Egypt lol) The pyramid is beautiful! And it is huge. The architecture is just awesome to see. It is so pretty. Seeing the pyramid from the ground is cool, and it is also great to see it underneath the pyramid when you are inside. This structure was one of my favorites, aside from the L'Arc du Triomphe. The pyramid was my second favorite structural piece. You can see it right outside the Louvre. It is a masterpiece. Once you go underneath, where the entrance to the Louvre is, you can see the inside of the pyramid. It lets in lots of light and it sparkles in the reflection of the sun. Very pretty! It is a must see. I'm not sure if I liked seeing it from the outside more. Seeing it from the inside and looking up really made it look spectacular.

Thaovi T.

Yelp
Loved the Louvre during the day and lit up at night. Took obligatory Louvre photos on the pillar blocks. Such a beautiful area to explore.

Courtney O.

Yelp
Even the pyramid gets it's own Yelp page, oh la la! Not totally surprising. The pyramid gets almost as much love as Mona (almost!) But really. Before entering into the museum, it's a must to get a picture with this beautiful, marvelous wonder first! Why do you think they have all those blocks set up around the perimeter? So you can get your iconic holding the Louvre in your hand photo or touching the tip. Top or bottom of the pyramid- your choice! The real wonder is getting to actual travel through the pyramid to get under ground to see all the fabulous art stored below!

Marilu F.

Yelp
Despite being to Paris, and more so the Louvre, the pyramid really didn't catch my attention until my latest trip. My first time at the Louvre all I could focus on was actually going in. Now that I had my second time there, the pyramid was much more interesting to me. For one thing, the Louvre was having issues selling tickets online, so you had to go through the pyramid to purchase tickets. For another, this landmark is huge and made of glass and metal. When you're trying to kill time or are just waiting to enter, believe me you notice it. That and it was during winter, so there were less people. At any rate, this pyramid is a beauty and I, of course, got my photo with it.

Eddie R.

Yelp
Once you enter the museum, go below the pyramid. The site from below is unbelievable. What a great design. The huge atrium is breathtaking. I purchased a tour and had a fantastic guide. This person had a masters in art history, which really showed during our tour. This person showed us the most important things in the museum. He called it the 3 divas of the Louvre. Venus de Milo, Winged Victory, and the Mona Lisa. They explained many bits of information on each of these most impressive sites. Things that you cannot know from just any tour book or even some guides. Undoubtedly this was the best tour I've ever had, and this location calls for it. We were told that if you spent 1 minute at every exhibit in this museum, it would take you over one month to see everything. What a great place this is. A place where history has stopped and tells you a story. The art is unbelievable. The status are amazing. The atmosphere is awe-inspiring. I absolutely loved the experience of being at the Louvre. Even with a map, you will be surprised at what you find around the next corner. You could spend a whole day here and go around the world and so far back in time that it doesn't seem real. I recommend getting a tour from a reputable company. It will make a huge difference in your experience.

Francine L.

Yelp
Louvre is a beautiful place filled with artwork and collections from many different types of painters, sculptures, and much more to see if you are visiting here. This is one of the most iconic places that people all over the world would visit! This is my second time ever coming here and it still takes my breath away while I am walking all around the museum. Yes the line to get in is insane and they do make every single person go through security, so don't bring anything inside that could make you not get in! I would suggest coming here and spending a day walking around. I would say pick an early time slot but know you'll be having to wait a while to get in. Buy your tickets online and don't wait until you get there because they do sell out!

Rod S.

Yelp
I've never really thought of the pyramid as it's own separate thing. It was just an unusual entrance to the museum. However, on further thought I can see it. It was a totally separate project by a well known artist. As pretty as it is outside, and it's a great known location to meet people, it's looking up from inside that really makes it.

Brigitte L.

Yelp
The pyramid is definitely a MUST see when visiting Paris! Be aware that the area gets extremely crowded so I'd recommend heading out early. When we visited there was security check points coupled with the line to get in for tour times made it a bit frustrating. But overall just being in Paris and experiencing the Pyramide du Louvre was AMAZING. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience that you always dream of visiting. We spent hours here. And once inside there is also a mall and food court area. You can also get to the transit station.

Boon C.

Yelp
Icon for the Paris other than Eiffel Tower. This is one of the most photograph area. More importantly the pyramid is not jut the out side only, the museum below ground has an upside down pyramid. It touch a small concrete pyramid below. The person who created the pyramid is a Chinese American who designed this pyramid. If you saw this, you know it is Louvre museum. It is a city symbol. The pyramid lighted at night provide a good night view. The translucent glass also provided the sun light shine to the ground of inside museum.

Brandi I.

Yelp
This is a stunning installation that is worth seeing! You technically don't even need to visit the rest of the museum in order to see these, unless you want to see the inverted one inside the museum.

Reena S.

Yelp
Must-see when in Paris. Beautiful architecture, the pyramid shape of the museum looks beautiful outside and when inside looking up. A lot of great art and the Mona Lisa to be seen here. There's long lines to see her and she's about 8x10 inches. Just like with any other tourist place, expect lots of people. There are blocks in random areas outside for tourists to stand on and capture photos.

James A.

Yelp
Beautiful modern glass pyramid, completely out-of-place in it's surroundings. It is accessible from below directly from the Metro line. It also serves as the starting point to get into the Louvre for your tour. One gets into one of two lines (one for reserved tickets, other for walk-up). the reserved ticket line is a lot longer, but as we found out, it goes faster since we were often able to skip in front of the walk-up folks. One needs a timed ticket to get inside the pyramid, which is just a holding area before you actually get inside the Louvre. There are shops and restaurants inside as well (but you can't get inside without a ticket).

Cat N.

Yelp
Every time I go to Paris, this place changes. Last time I was in Paris, there wasn't any bench around to sit. Now you can sit and people watch for whole day! Located near trains and food, it's convenient

Marlon T.

Yelp
Utter amazingness is the Pyramide du Louvre. A trip to Paris is not complete without visiting this beauty. I wonder what the average number of pictures people take here, just to get the perfect one to post online! Anyway, here are some facts about the pyramid: - Designed by the Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei - Completed in 1988 - Height of 21.6 metres (71 ft) - Square base has sides of 34 metres (112 ft) - Base surface area of 1,000 square metres (11,000 sq ft) - It consists of 603 rhombus-shaped and 70 triangular glass segments

Fox E.

Yelp
They tried to sign me up to promote the Louvre when I came to this pyramid. Said that they'd give me one Euro for every person I signed up to do the same. I was like, no thanks, you wily French people. I'm not falling for your Pyramide scheme. This beautiful pyramid here in Paris is one of the iconic and spectacular elements of this great city one of the world's greatest museums inside. We love it here and will probably visit many more times. It was made famous in the US in The DaVinci Code, but was infamous in Paris for many years before. I am one of the few people who actually parked right in front of it and slept here in my rental car without being disturbed, which is pretty amazing if you think about it. Not sure I'd get away with that now. I'm also one of the people that thinks it's amazing rather than one of the people like in The DaVinci Code who thinks it ruins Paris. This review is dedicated to the Swiss national team who delightfully knocked out Les Bleus last night.

Danielle G.

Yelp
The painting and statues are just breathtaking. And to see the Mona Lisa is exceptional but lots of lines and lots of people I would recommend coming really early in the morning to really soak In everything. To see the Mona lisa is great but the amount of people pushing and airing is not worth it we went on the side of the line to stare at the painting.

Saira K.

Yelp
The Pyramide du Louvre is a big pyramid sculpture designed by Chinese-American architect I M Pei. It's made of glass and metal. It's in the main courtyard of the Louvre. You're across from Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. There's 3 small pyramids around the big pyramid. There's a lot of stories about what's inside the pyramid. Look into the pyramid and you see that it's the main entrance to the Louvre. There's a lobby under it. Don't miss going there at night. It's very pretty with the lights!

Eric R.

Yelp
"In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, my poetry. You dance inside my heart, where no-one sees you, I do, and that's my inspiration..." Paris is known for it's historic architecture, timeless landmarks, and breathtaking art. And yet, there's one sight that's relatively new to the scene, nonetheless as synonymous to Paris as the Le Eiffel Tower, Napoleon's Tomb, or masterpieces from the French Renaissance. The Pyramide du Louvre is from the dreams of I. M. Pei and a cant miss if in the romantic City of Light! The artist, I. M. Pei, was a Chinese-American architect born in China, raised in Hong Kong, and moved to the United States before WWII. He became an American citizen. A journey in life that shows diversity, love, and beauty in his unforgettable Pyramide du Louvre. A gift to the diverse people of Paris... and for all the world to see. In the end, I highly recommend this public art that I promise will take your breath away. Make it one of your first stops when in Paris. Come during sunrise and come during sunset. Appreciate the life you have. I.M. Pei passed away in 2019 at the age of 102 years old. Yet he continues to live at the Pyramide du Louvre! A must see!

Luigi B.

Yelp
Love the happening vibe! Bus loads of school kids, car loads of couples & families running around after visiting the Louvre. So many fab shops from Maxim's to Jar-Din to a food court and a bathroom that has all manner and color of toilet paper which we did not quite understand and thus evaded. Woohoo!

Edwin R.

Yelp
What an amazing place. Great for an artist or if you enjoy beautiful architecture. Glad we came here off season as I was told by my relatives, the museum square especially around the Pyramid gets very packed. This is a landmark that is not to be missed. Cheers!

Sherry M.

Yelp
The most beautiful building in the world. I've seen this building in movies and books, but to see it in person it's incredible. It was awe inspiring! It was huge and a lot of people this day well maybe every day, but it was a lot of walking and a lot of stairs, but it was fun ! I came to see the Mona Lisa !! It was hard to find at first but if you fallow all the signs on the walls it's easy. I got to see her from the middle of the room with about 200 people in front of me. It was soooo well worth every steep to get to her. Once in a life time experience!!

Ginger L.

Yelp
Super iconic, definitely a must-see, and totally stunning. It's something you kind of dream about seeing and it's awesome that it 100 percent lives up to the fantasy from an installation/art perspective. I would suggest arriving early for your visit to the Louvre so you can take it all in. But I wouldn't make an excursion out of the pyramids alone. As a tourist attraction, it is not perfect. There were a few reasons to get a little flustered at this hot spot, mostly because of the crowds. There were more people taking pictures here than at any other sightseeing spot I visited during my trip to Paris. I recommend bringing water, as there is no water bottle fill station, nor opportunities to buy water around the Pyramids (you have to go into the mall or Louvre). You might see some people selling bottles. In addition, it is extremely dusty. I don't think I could have hung out for very long - fortunately, we only had a 10 - 15 minute wait until our time slot for the museum.

Denise W.

Yelp
This is the review for the Pyramid on the ground level. This is not a review about the Louvre Museum. The Louvre Museum entrance is inside the Louvre Pyramid. The pyramid is a spectacular architecture. People come here for picture taking. Definitely a beautiful artwork. This is a must visit. The Louvre pyramid is surrounded by three other smaller pyramids. The Louvre museum building surrounds the three pyramids and the Louvre Pyramids.

Lily H.

Yelp
You can literally spend the whole day here, so plan accordingly! There are plenty of famous works to see aside from the Mona Lisa! We've discovered the Louvre is ridiculously hot and stuffy during the summer so be prepared for that too. Go back at night, the pyramids lit up from the surface makes for a great experience and photos.

Ron B.

Yelp
Goes without saying. For the intrigued persons, we likely need a month here to feel satisfied with the visit. To be educated, could take a few lifetimes here. For those who are influencers, thank you for all the tips and tricks. Genuinely saved me from freezing by not waiting above ground for entry. No pictures because there's just too many to choose from.

Marianne W.

Yelp
Yes I've been to a lot of places in my 73 years on this planet. Pyramide du Louvre is a truly memorable experience. I don't need a photo because I won't forget! This large pyramid serves as the main entrance to the Louvre Museum. It was completed in 1989. It was renovated between 2014-2017. The entrance now accommodates more visitors. I can't wait to return some day. No visit to Paris is complete without a day spent at the Louvre. I'm sure I wrote a review of the museum also. The Pyramid is breathtaking. I remember standing with my head rotating like I was filming the Exorcist, my mouth hanging open in amazement. Make it a point to see it and the museum when you go to Paris. I'm sorry now I didn't get a photo of me standing outside!

Karla D.

Yelp
Visiting inside and out is just incredible. Getting to see artwork and paintings first hand that you wouldn't be able to do on a normal basis. I felt like it took a good couple of hours to get through but then again I am one to stop and observe every piece of art. I need to absorb all of it. The pyramid is fun and a great photo op. So cool it's also the entrance.

Ashley S.

Yelp
I've been to Paris a few times. The first time I didn't go inside the Louvre, but I did make a stop at the pyramid. You really cannot miss it. There is a secret to getting into the Louvre without the huge lines. Go through the underground! You can buy tickets at a little convenience store and skip the hour long line. The museum is HUGE so wear comfortable shoes for sure. After several hours, I was burnt out and we didn't even see the entire thing.

Stephen A.

Yelp
It's the Louvre. What more needs to be said. Tons of history, tons of art. Photo ops galore. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I ordered a burger at the cafe and before even paying I asked if I could have no cheese. I was told not possible. Maybe it's the American in me, asking for no cheese seems like an easy, reasonable request. And taking away the star isn't to be spiteful, it means having more flexibility on what you serve would make it a better experience. Cheese was easy enough to take off on my own. Not a big deal.

Emily L.

Yelp
11.12.19 After saying bye to London, we arrived at our second destination, Paris. We booked an Airbnb and it was like 5mins walk from the Louvre! It's just simply beautiful day or night. The crazy thing was we saw two couples shooting wedding photos here during night time! Them in fancy looking off shoulder and tube top dresses vs me wrapped up like a Chinese dumpling. It was very cold! I don't know how they do it. The crazier couple was still there after we were done with the museum. What?! I feel cold just thinking about it. xD

Tairyn A.

Yelp
Pyramide du Lourve is such an iconic monument at the center of the Lourve Museum. The glass pyramid is quite modern and in contrast to the amazing building that houses some of the most amazing pieces of art I have ever seen. Across the the street are several ideal spots to take pictures And on the inside, there is a humongous gold tone sculpture that is suspended by cables and look like it's floating. What an awesome contraption. I will not go on about the museum, that is another review that I am saving for a special milestone, but suffice to say that this pyramid gives the museum as a whole an eye catching and memorable look. Chances are you won't remember the amazing architecture of the building itself, but you will remember the pyramide!

Ted G.

Yelp
This museum is vast and amazing! The pyramid and the underground lobby beneath it were created because of a series of problems with the Louvre's original main entrance, which could no longer handle the enormous number of visitors on an everyday basis. The heat inside of the pyramid can get quite intense during the warmer months, lose your expectations on air conditioning in the museum, just as you would anywhere else across Europe. Again we paid a tour company to "skip the line" and give us as much of an educational visit as possible. The ticket prices are very reasonable, of course you will have to go through screening prior to entering the museum. They do have refreshments at the entrance, as well as restrooms, I would recommend visiting the restroom right away and finish up your refreshments since they are not allowed in the museum. They do have maps available, in many different languages, of course trying to use the map to navigate through this massive museum in the middle of all the people doing the same thing is still challenging. Do yourself a favor and just book a tour with a company like "city wonders". If you are set on seeing the Mona Lisa up close, put yourself into a "Black Friday" mode and push your way up, this is literally "Selfie Central" and many seem to be insistent on taking a few hundred at a time. Be aware of those pesky street hawkers, they can be very pushy and if they try to sell you tickets, say NO. I recommend not dealing with them at all, once you physically handle any of their merchandise they will NOT leave you alone. Cheers!

Tiffany D.

Yelp
One can spend days here on the inside and a moment to take a snapshot with the pyramid outside. I was roaming throughout the massive area since I only had a full day inside! Perusing through the many magnificent art history filled with different realms of cultures in the world, I left delighted! A grand and must experience kind of outing!

Rhiannon K.

Yelp
Oh, the Louvre.. It's hard to write a review for this place because I have very mixed feelings. I think listing out the pros and cons will be the best way for me to honestly review it. + It's not expensive to get in. It was around 15$ but not more than 20. There's a quicker line if you pre-buy your ticket, but the regular line isn't too long. Lots to see! It's historic, how can you not come here and see all these amazing artifacts and paintings. - It's ridiculously busy. All the time.. It's HOT if you're visiting in the summer. AC isn't the same as in the US. You have to go through a metal detector but that's not a huge deal. They sell beverages right before the exhibit entrance but don't tell you that you can't take them in. Good luck seeing the Mona Lisa up close. Overall, I think it's worth it to come here. If you come during the winter and find a time where it isn't busy then you'll be able to enjoy yourself. Give yourself the entire day to be here because there is a lot to see.

Irene E.

Yelp
The architect I. M. Pei 貝聿銘 had just passed away the day we departed - yesterday, at age of 102. RIP. I didn't go in - too many visitors, making it a bazaar and hard to enjoy. A little vending carte has little art decoration. I guess, the husband is busy selling while his wife is take a break? Selfies takers, musicians, chestnuts vendor ... A chestnuts seller!!! Oh boy.

Whimzically M.

Yelp
Missed our tour & was told to pay for a new set of tickets. So we didn't see the inside of the museum. Maybe next visit to Paris.. But the outside was still nice. There were THOUSANDS of people outside & in the mall.

Nate M.

Yelp
Take a picture it will last longer! No seriously this is a great and common spot for picture taking before you head into the museum. A FEW TIPS: - Take the pic before you head inside the louvre. Because you'll be exhausted after six hours or museum walking. - This is a great place to just sit back and take it all in. - Do your research. Did you know parts of National Treasure and The DaVinci Code were filmed here. #Merica! - Assess your snack situation. It's going to be a long day! - Have fun and party on.

Justine S.

Yelp
I was so excited to see the Pyramid that I forgot to take a picture of it. I only have a video..... It is glorious up front, it's so cool and fancy. I couldn't get close enough to see if you are allowed to touch it but if you can I will definitely but that in my bucket list and go back. Technically, this is the main entrance but since it fills up so fast we entered from another area. But I kinda wished we had entered from the pyramid.

Amber H.

Yelp
Really great experience walking around here. There's always lines up except in the rain so expect to wait like anything else. I will be back summer 2018

Connie M.

Yelp
It's impossible to be in Paris and not visit the Lourve. It was simply too easy to spend many hours here as it is full of history and beautiful art. The line outside can be insane if you're trying to buy tickets to enter, so a pro tip is to buy your tickets online and show your phone to the agent so you can bypass the line and save tons of time.

Nola G.

Yelp
The pyramides are stunning at night. The best night captures are in the fall and winter because it stays light until very late in the summer. Enjoy!

Ben Y.

Yelp
Honestly, this outside area was more interesting than the actual museum. I'm not into art so YMMV. The outside area is huge and there are plenty of spots to take some nice pictures. There are a ton of people selling souvenirs/trinkets which was really annoying since they keep hounding you even after you said you are not interested.

Sue S.

Yelp
Even though I've seen the pyramid on TV, in photos, in movies, etc., there is really nothing like seeing it in person. I know that some people don't like it. But whatever your opinion, it is still really something to see. If you are going into the Louvre (which I would also recommend of course), you want to build some time into the front or end of your visit to take some photos in the courtyard and check out the pyramid(s). They really are fascinating and you want to photograph them from like every angle. It's also a fun place for those stupid perspective photos like "here I am holding the whole Louvre pyramid in just two fingers!" I would also recommend going by this area at night if you get a clear evening. The pictures of the pyramid all lit up in the evening are really striking and beautiful.

Schuyler K.

Yelp
You could spend hours outside enjoying the scenic views of the pyramid and extensive gardens. You could also spend hours inside. It depends which kind of day you would like to have. To go in, it gets very crowded so I'd suggest arriving early. I posted a tip that includes days of free admission. I suggest checking out the website in advance. Suggest a beautiful place!

Alan C.

Yelp
Upon entering the grounds of the Louvre your first visual attraction is the glass pyramid ..it's like right in front of your face. Yes it was beautiful and yes I was in awe..but I felt it was kinda outta place. Located in the center of the grounds outside the Louvre the larger pyramid is surrounded by three small pyramids. Designed by the late I.M. Pei the metal and glass structure is something to behold. Looking at it at different angels will result in a completely concept to how it was designed. It's a great place to take photos and in the evening the pyramid lights up..something to behold. So what I first thought was a distraction actually turned into a stunningly beautiful work of art!
