15 Florida Places to Be Nurtured By Nature

"The damp, temperate climate of coastal Florida inspires growth from a number of varieties of flora. So much so that the town of St. Augustine has a number of “love trees” where two separate species of tree grow in, on, and through one another. According to local tradition, if two lovers kiss beneath one of the rare, yet unmistakable arbors they will share an everlasting romance. While botanists from around the world have neither tried to, nor been able to verify this effect, many couples who have shared an intimate moment beneath the variegated branches still return on their anniversary to renew the romantic spell. As of this writing there are around seven of these love trees to be found around the city." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

The Love Tree is a must do when you're visiting St. Augustine. My sweetheart and I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Ms. Margaret. She is awesome! We chatted and shared like old friends. We decorated a heart for the arbor, and she added it to all the rest of the beautiful hearts. Then she took pics of us kissing in front of the tree. So now, as the story goes, we will love each other through eternity! ❤

Solidified our love at the famous love tree in old St Augustine for our 4 year anniversary! I would like to mention here that there doesn’t seem to be a vender to sell the copper hearts that you write your names on and hang on the gable. So, if you want to write your name on a copper heart I would bring the heart yourself and some wire to tie it on with.

my boyfriend and I took a ghost tour here. I loved the idea of the tree and it was a great place for a picture. Will be back in the future for an anniversary!

Nice to hear the story or stories behind this love tree. A sable palm (lady) whose trunk is wrapped by the trunk of a massive oak (man).
