A small beach that touches both the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, although reportedly treacherously dangerous on the pacific side due to currents and waves. I saw this from the cruise ship level (90') down to water level (5'). If other excursions hadn't taken so much time it would have been nice to take a boat tour out to the beach.

Lover’s Beach in Cabo San Lucas is absolutely jaw dropping a true slice of paradise! Just a short boat ride from the Cabo marina, this stunning beach is tucked between dramatic rock formations and offers soft sand and crystal clear, calm waters perfect for relaxing or swimming. What makes it even more special is its unique location right across from the wild and rugged Divorce Beach, where the powerful waves crash with intensity. The contrast is surreal. Lover’s Beach feels like a dream peaceful, scenic, and unforgettable. A must visit when in Cabo!

Very nice, but for the first time in 45 years i almost drowned. The water became very powerful and i needed someone to help me get out of the current.

Google
Lovers beach is a nice spot but busy because of the swimming. But Divorce Beach is by far more spectacular. You have to take a water taxi from the marina . Cost about $5 .Waves crashing on the shore and mountains surrounding the beach. Incredible views. More private.

Google
Amazing and beautiful beach not far from Cabo San Lucas. At the local marina, you should be able to find a.boat for a tour and drop off and pick up here for around 200 pesos per person. As you get dropped off, just advise what time you want to be picked up. No restrooms here or services.

Google
The place is stunning! But be ready, to get there is a little adventure. The only way is through a resort: the guard brings you through the resort until a wonderful beach with big waves, then you have to walk along the beach until a rock formation and do a bit of rock climbing to get in the other side where a paradise beach is waiting. Gym shoes are mandatory for the rocks! don’t try with sandals, it’s slippery. Anyway I’m my point of view, the beauty of the place pay the effort to reach it.

I came here on 8/5/2025 around 2pm. I thought it'd be a good idea to ride a boat here, and bring my own snorkeling gear. Bad idea. Waves were too rough for snorkeling and I got tossed around. Another dude got pulled too far from shore, but luckily a boat nearby helped him. There was also a guy at the beach that sold me a coconut for $8, and they were sour. The beach itself is very pretty though.

Google
Very scenic and fun island. This beach is unique in that on its north side is the Gulf of California, with calm waters and great for swimming; and on the south side, is the Pacific, which despite its name, is anything but calm. I should know, because I climbed onto some of the rocks near the shore on the Pacific side, and while out there, a huge wave came in and knocked me down it, causing me to fall about a storey in height onto the beach below. Luckily I came away with only some minor scratches and moderate bruisings on both my feet, legs and knees, but I definitely wouldn't test my luck again there. Here are a few pictures I took of the beach and some cool rock formations on it.

Yelp
You really can't go to Cabo without at least checking out Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach) and also Divorce Beach. Most normal people get to the beach via water taxi or kayak, but seeing as how I'm not most people.. I decided to hike there! It's not the easiest hike but it is certainly do-able. The first step is to get past the security at The Grand Solmar, past their infinity pools and spa area, and down the steps to their private beach nearby. If you're staying there, it's much easier of course. I had actually just finished up at a private-brunch reception there so I didn't have to worry about that step. Worst comes to worse, casually walk through Playa Grande (their nearby sister resort), as if you're staying there. Act nonchalant, smile but don't make eye contact and you'll be fine. Once through the left, hand left and walk down the massive outdoor steps, then down past their two pools and direct to the sand. Going through Playa Grande adds maybe 7-10 minutes of a walk on the sand but it's quite a gorgeous and enjoyable stroll. Either way, once on the sand, head to the left and eventually you reach the big rock face. Remember that "left" is actually theme here. You'll want to traverse to the left, which is the less steep route, then through, up and the mini mountain, essentially. It should take about 7-20 minutes, depending how slow you go. I recommend taking your time and really enjoy the sites and the serenity. Just be careful, watch out for crabs and trust your instincts. There's no harm whatsoever in taking a pause, resetting your grips or even reassessing your route. I had one close call but the danger was quickly thwarted by following those steps. You'll encounter locals who will offer to guide you through the hike. If you don't know what you're doing, I'd recommend giving $10 or so, and they'll even wait for you to take you back. Be warned however, they move fast so you won't get much of a chance to enjoy the view. Hop on youtube and you'll see several videos showing you the way, such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW6Ghhgs9Ec

Yelp
If you have the opportunity to go to this beach, take that opportunity because some people don't get to do it because of the weather or high waves. We were lucky enough to take a boat ride onto the beach and spend hours out there. We stayed at the Sante Fe Riu Resort which is right across from Playa del Amor. There are plenty of water taxi's that can take you and your party across to Playa del Amor. We were a party of 10. You can haggle for the cost if you're lucky and that includes the return trip back. You can stay up to 5 hours if you want, we stayed around 2 hours or so. I can't remember if we had to call the guy to come and pick us up or there was a guy on the other side coordinating pick up times, I was drunk at that point, haha!! Anywho, the beach is beautiful and the rock formations are stunning. There are people that rent umbrellas and sell beers there. Take advantage on spending some time here because the very next day, they closed the beach because of high waves.

Yelp
Along with the Arch, this beach is one of the most famous tourist sights in Los Cabos. As a beach, it is nothing special. It is fairly small and is inconvenient to reach. You must get a water taxi from the marina. You do not need to book one in advance - you can ask any of the water taxis and it will not be more than $10 round trip. However, it does offer amazing views. Imagine being on a beach that is surrounded only by rocks and water. This is a great spot to gets lots of photos and videos but is not a place I would spend more than an hour. At the same time, you can also walk over to the other side where Divorce Beach is. Unlike Lover's Beach, Divorce Beach is not swimmable.

Yelp
CABO is the place to be ! Truly love it and on our recent trip we did a sunset cruise that stopped at Playa del Amor- Lover's beach. It's only accessible by boat or water taxi and it's pretty lovely when the tides are calm compared to the other side which is the pacific side. You can swim, snorkel here but remember it closes at 3ish and there are no restrooms .. It's near the arc which is a bonus .. enjoy next time you're in Cabo

Yelp
Playa Del Amor also known as Lovers beach was so beautiful to see in person! I love learning history!! Two people come in three people come out while there's a totally different story just a few feet away on Divorce Beach
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
Super cool little beach and cove that shares the same strip of land as divorce beach. Playa del amor has swimmable áreas with decent snorkeling and shade, while divorce beach is majestic and beautiful but dangerous as well. The riptide and steep shelf creates some hazardous water on Divorce beach while Lovers beach is smooth, gentle and protected from swells, waves and riptides. There are a few vendors trying to make some money here. Beers are $5/ea, and they have snacks as well. Pro Tip: have some pesos on hand and tip the shore men who help you off the boat...plan ahead, bring food/drinks/snacks/alcohol and save the added hassle. Absolutely worth bringing a snorkel or two as well. Everybody we came in contact with were friendly and helpful (the local shoreman were kinda pushy but $omething is better than nothing).
google avatar

Yelp
You get dropped off a in a different area as the boats/water taxi are not allowed to take you here as the area is roped off. The trek is worth it because not make people make the dangerous trek to get here to see both Playa del Amor or Playa De Divorcio. The water is clear as day and so beautiful and you have the beach to yourself! The waves are not too extremely bad and it is safer to swim, just mind the ropes because that can get dangerous with the undercurrent. The waves are super strong. The beach they take you too is very packed and the waters are rough. But this area is great for photos and taking a swim or just wading in the water. Soaking up the sun and relaxing. Just be mindful of the tide when you need to start heading back to the main beach. When the tide comes in, the trek back is a bit dangerous. Highly recommend and so glad we were able to make the trek here to this area. We were able to see the area before making the trek as the boat took us to the Arc first and we pass by Playa Del Amor. In the boat, the trek didn't look too long or too dangerous. On the way we found a cave and was able to get some cool pictures. Just be careful and wear shoes and you will be fine. I have sandals with grip and the other girls had to take off their slippery sandals... just be mindful you are climbing over rocks that the waves splash up against and it is wet and slippery not to mention gaps where if you fall, it would not be painless. All in all, a definite must see and experience at least once!

Yelp
Love CABO and of course had to visit-Baja's most famous beach: Playa del Amor-otherwise known as ( Lover's Beach). Perfectly mesmerizing water and sand and most importantly - sits adjacent to the famous El Arco! Impressive views. This beautiful beach is secluded-so no restrooms and or anything. Also-while this beach is a must see-take caution -tides can get rough and sketchy.
google avatar

Lee A.

Yelp
You will need to take a water taxi if you aren't up to a rather strenuous mountain hike. Don't pay more than $8 for a RT ticket. the beach can be pretty crowded since it's not very big, but the water is warm, very calm, and clear. it's definitely worth a visit. Snorkeling isn't very exciting here. it's also amazing to be able to cross over to divorce beach and see how crazy the Pacific Ocean slamming into divorce beach is. such a drastic change. bring food, snacks, or anything you might need. there are no services on the beach.
google avatar

Yelp
Very beautiful! Great experience! The only way to get to the beach is getting a boat ride there -- about $15 dollars round trip. (Our hotel had a partnership with glass bottom boats so we paid $9 per person) Make sure you remember the name of your boat when you get off on the island, because going back, they'll charge you again if you go on another boat. Keep in mind they close the island around 3:30pm because of the waves. So go there earlier if you want to spend more time on the island.
google avatar

Yelp
What a beautiful place!! This is actually my 2nd time here. My first time was with one of my girlfriends many years ago and we were both wasted on... tequila of course, and the whole visit was a blur. This time I was completely sober and traveling with my mother, so I had to behave! We talked to one of the guys selling boat tours along the pier and after checking out the different prices, we decided to go with one of the cheaper ones. Lover's beach was one out of 6 spots that the boat cruise covered. The beaches here are very beautiful, the water is very nice, it is however overcrowded with tourists and there's like 10 boats at the same spot at any given moment. The beach is also very small and doesn't have a lot of space and due to the crowded it's noisy and not really a good place to relax. The water can be rough depending on the day. Nice tourist spot to visit if you are in town!
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
Beautiful clear water, colorful fish, soft sand, and amazing rock formations make this a great place to explore. Just be safe and don't swim in the Pacific Ocean on the other side. It can be rough! Great for snorkeling and right next to the iconic El Arco (the arch). It's possible to hike over here, or even swim, but a boat ride will cost you only a few dollars. Be warned, there are no services here (no restrooms or shops), however there may be some local vendor selling items.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a sight to see. So much to do too! When visiting Cabo San Lucas you must stop by here. The beach is beautiful and rock formations look like something you'd see on a postcard. It's difficult to get a picture that looks like you're on a private beach as it is very popular for tourists. What you'll see are cruise ships passing by and smaller boats. There's tons of businesses around offering sight seeing, water sports, etc. well worth it if you're not pressed for time. The water when you get in is a bit murky though since there's just so much going on. I plan on visiting again soon. One popular spot is the hole in the rock formation. Expect to wait a few minutes to get your perfect picture. It'll be worth it. Either get here early or late for sunrise and sunset pics. Remember to dine nearby for an al Fresca experience for reasonable prices.

Yelp
Came to Cabo for a bachelorette party and coming to Lover's Beach was definitely the highlight of our trip. The only way to get here is by boat and I definitely recommend getting a boat with a glass bottom so you can see the fishes in the water.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Playa del Amor and Divorce beach are connected and only accessible by water. They are both absolutely beautiful. They are a must see, even more so than the arch in my opinion. We got a very cheap (I think we paid $7 round trip/person) glass bottom boat that showed us the arch and then dropped us at the beach, promising to pick us up two hours later (which they did). Honestly, the whole thing was a little hectic just because you worry about getting picked up, bargaining for the right price, having everything you need out there, etc. but it is so worth it. Definitely wear a swimming suit and bring whatever you need (nobody is out there selling anything so bring water, etc.). I thought it was gorgeous, and a really cool experience, being able to see two different bodies of water at once.
google avatar

Vincent C.

Yelp
It's definitely a spot you need to check out when you're in Cabo. You'll see a lot of tourist and a lot of locals there trying to help you get off the boat. The beach itself is pretty small but it would be great if you had it to yourself. The water is usually warm but isn't always so calm so be careful but it's not like Divorce Beach. There's no facilities around so bring your own food and drinks also you better go to the restroom before you get there. Getting there is pretty short if you're on a glass bottom boat which usually aren't all that fancy. You'll see people snorkeling and probably some scuba divers too. Being here has great views and it is a great experience.
google avatar

Yelp
There are several beaches in Cabo that are scary/dangerous to swim in due to strong undertow. Be aware of the warning signs folks! This is the reason it took a long while for my bestie and me to find safe Cabo waters. Thank goodness for Lover's Beach! This place is accessible by boat. The water is clear, beautifully blue, and perfectly cool, especially on a hot day. The beach is on the smaller side and a bit crowded since it's a touristy destination. Very little to see but it's a beautiful place to hang out! You can also walk to the opposite side of the peninsula to the appropriately named Divorce Beach where the water is rougher/scary. Make sure you go here on an empty bladder because there are no bathrooms. Water taxis frequently drop off and pick up passengers but be aware of the time that the last boat leaves so you don't get stranded.
google avatar

Yelp
Bar hopping at night and beach hopping during the day pretty much summed up our Cabo trip! Lover's beach is a must when you visit Cabo! Our hotel gave us a free water taxi tour to the Arch so we took advantage of our ride and got dropped off here! This is the more relaxing side since it is less windy and the sand is nicer! You can also swim, snorkel (small area, good for kids), and just tan to get some vitamin D! It's a plus that they let you bring drinks on this beach! We were able to enjoy a few beers and even got some snacks from some vendors selling chicharron and etc. There are plenty of boats and water taxis that will take you back to where the hotels are, but it can be a challenge getting in a boat since the waves can be strong from where they pick you up!
google avatar

Hannah C. R.

Yelp
If you're in Cabo, you have to come to Lover's Beach. It's just a short water taxi ride from the marina or one of the beachfront resorts. You just tell the water taxi man what time to come pick you up, and when he does, there is another nice man who stays on the beach and helps people back into their water taxis. If the water is choppy, it can be kind of scary to get on/off the boats as they pull up to the beach. This also makes for great entertainment watching other people try to get on/off boats. HILARIOUS. The water is crystal clear and the rock formations are beautiful. You can't swim on the Pacific side because the current is too strong, but swimming on the Sea of Cortez side is really fun! There are TONS of vendors here trying to sell you bracelets, mangos (Elli the mango man with $15 mangos -______- ), beers, etc. We brought our own beers which was definitely a good choice.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Lover's Beach what an appropriate name. This beach is breath taking beautiful turquoise waters with amazing rocks and caves. This is paradise. The water was perfect temperature not to warm not to cold just amazing. The only way to get here is by boat which can be rented for a minimal fee and you can be picked up at time you indicate. Once you are at the beach you can't rent umbrella and can buy refreshments as well. Great place this is a must when visiting Cabo.
google avatar

Heidi S.

Yelp
We had over $150 stolen from our backpack on this beach. I'm pretty sure it was the guys who helped us off the boat...they are sketchy dudes and make you tip them to do easy things you could do yourself...dont give them a big tip on our behalf since they stole all our cash!! it is a beautiful beach tho and our boat guide, Carlos (on the Wendy boat) was incredibly nice and took amazing pictures for us! All in all a good experience. Just be wary of your things if you land on the beach for a break.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
This is the small strip of beach and cove next to the Arch. It's not much of a beach, tiny little area. The waves are much calmer on this side, you can actually swim. I was expecting a little bit more. Whatever, you do, keep your swimming to this side, DO NOT SWIM on the Divorce Beach side.
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
Beautiful. Sand is hot but we rented snorkel gear from the shore and took it over with us. ALWAYS MAKE DEALS WITH PEOPLE. Never take the first amount they throw out. It's a must see.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
All right. This beach is a liiiiittttle overrated but as you can see I'm still a fan. I don't know if I would consider this the best beach in the area but certainly one that you should visit if you're in the area. The only way to get here is by boat or by kayak and there will be plenty of companies willing to take you out here to explore what it has to offer. The sand is medium grained so it's actually quite easy and nice to walk on. If you come in the morning, the sun will be on your side plus you get to skip the crowds that will inevitably come around the noon time. Walk over to the other side which I'm told is Lawyer's beach (ha!) and look towards the horizon where you will see the humpbacks blowing their spouts and breaching. Bring your camera because you won't want to miss that picturesque moment. Right around the corner from Lover's Beach is a great snorkeling site but you'll need to get out of that little cove there to get there. Swimming is probably a little far. All in all, it's a nice place to visit right by El Arco so if you're already in the area, drop on by and see what the fuss is all about!
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
A major tourist spot in Cabo. I could see the arch from our hotel and I wasn't sure whether it was worth going over to check out. I am so glad we did. The beach itself feels very isolated from everything else except that there are lots of of tourism taking pictures or taking in the sight of the waves as I did. But sitting on the sand watching the waves crash into the rocks, it was mesmerizing. The waves on the divorce beach is bigger, more ferocious than the other side since it is on the pacific ocean side. You can pack a lunch/snack and drinks and have a little picnic or there are vendors who will sell you beer/drinks and chips on the spot if you forget to pack one. One thing to be aware is the people who come rushing over when the boat comes in to help you get off or get on. They are looking for tips. I didn't like how they were being aggressive with our kid, picking him up and placing him on the boat.
google avatar

Andy _.

Yelp
Beautiful beach and view. Not a lot of tourists which was a pleasant surprise! Easy to access from downtown, and the views are great for enjoying or taking photos
google avatar

Sophia H.

Yelp
Lover's Beach is located near the famous El Arch that can be seen from land or on a water taxi (PANGA aka Glass Bottom Boat/Water Taxi). We've paid $13.00 for a round trip from Medona Beach to Lover's Beach and on our way to El Arch, the taxi driver gave us a really nice tour to show us the Arch and rock myth stories which were quite interesting. I really love the scenery during the boat ride even tho it could get a little rocky since the Pacific Ocean is right on the other side with it's big currents. Pretty cliche how Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach are connected... a must visit on your first visit to Cabo Lover's Beach and Pelican Beach are located on the same side. Pelican Beach is where everyone is rock jumping or snorkelling so it can get a little crowded. The beach sells umbrellas and little goodies for eats. Make sure you bring your own snacks and drinks since there's no stores or restaurants there.
google avatar

Julianne E.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous! We could only get here by water taxi, which is an experience in itself. Take a taxi with the glass bottom boat, the fish are awesome. The rock formations on this beach were amazing, there small were caves, not the kind you can go into an explore though. The water was warm, and the waves were a little strong at times but still refreshing. It's not a big beach, and there will be folks trying to sell you beer, mangos, jewelry, even pictures with an iguana. You can walk to the Pacific side of the beach, which they call divorce beach, you just can't swim there. Would recommend adding this location to a must see in Cabo!
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
This is a beautiful little trip out when you visit Cabo. I recommend taking a boat tour to get out here. Here is a tip, don't book the tour at the hotel or you'll pay 3x the amount. Go to the marina and negotiate with the operators. If you have kids, make sure the life vests are in good condition and make sure you put them on properly.
google avatar

Elaine K.

Yelp
Play del Amor holds a special place to my heart because it's where my fiance proposed to me. Despite being a beach destination, Cabo San Lucas has choppy waters and many beaches are not swimmable, expect Lover's Beach. We rented a car during our all-inclusive trip so we could visit this place. There are several companies that you can pay for a glass-bottom boat trip out to this destination. all of which you should bargain with. Our captain was funny and spoke English. My fiance is a native Spanish speaker though so no problems there. They take you around to the Land's End Arch and he told us which beaches were better for snorkeling, etc. You'll get to see a lot of fish on the way and it's really neat for the kids to see. This beach is perfect for a daytime swim and even our 2-year-old was loving it! Just on the other side is Divorced Beach (name?) where the waves are extremely large. There are people selling handmade items and beers on the beach but they leave you alone if you seem uninterested. All in all, cute little beach and I'm glad we came bc I was dying for some time in the ocean!
google avatar

Aimee L.

Yelp
A must do in Cabo. If you have time, grab some cervezas, a swimsuit, and spend some time on Lover's Beach. The snorkeling is not great since there are a lot of people but it's still fun to do. Then jump on the glass bottom boat and take a ride over to the Office.
google avatar

Gwendolyn P.

Yelp
If you want to go here there is no reason to book in advance. Just walk down to the marina and ask one of the men to take you over in a panga. They will try to sell you a 45 minute tour but hold your ground and insist on just going to Lover's beach. The water is good for swimming and bring climbing shoes if you like to climb. Make sure you negotiate for a panga to take you back so that you don't get stuck over there or end up overpaying. Apparently the going rate is about $6 per person each way. With that said I was told by one person I overpaid. You will be able to see Los Arcos on the other side of Lover's beach on the way back as well as the rock where all the sea lions sit. The panga will get you much closer than the party boats will.
google avatar

Margie A.

Yelp
This is a great secluded beach to enjoy. Calm waters & soft sand. There are many water taxis in Cabo San Lucas who will gladly give you a ride over.
google avatar

Anne R.

Yelp
This beach is like your own little private beach to get away from it all. To get here you take a water taxi to and to get back you take a water taxi back. There are employees on the beach when you need to catch a ride on the water taxi but they come frequently. This beach is great for swimming in and there are some small cliffs you can dive into the water from. This is also a great place to go snorkeling and scuba diving. It is close to the arch which is really nice. The water is really clear here and the sand is ever so clear and clean looking. There are also some fish that occasionally come up here. Very cute little beach on the side/near the arch. If you take the boat tours they will usually stop by here to let you see it but I would definitely recommend that you drop off and relax here for awhile.

FL R.

Yelp
Don't go if the sea is rough or it's windy! Dangerous boat unloading and loading, as only Mexico could possibly allow. Yikes!!
google avatar

Reena P.

Yelp
Beautiful beautiful place to just add to your list of attractions in Cabo. We came to the beach on a water taxi (easily accessible from the marina) and frolicked around as many others came to do. Lover's beach is literally adjacent to El Arco, so you are able to get a great view of it as the boats came in. The water taxis drop you off relatively far from the beach itself, so be prepared to jump into the water for a little splashy splash. The beach can get crowded with people from all walks of life... there were some people selling cervezas but they looked questionable, so we refrained. People often brought their own coolers and food with them as well. On the opposite side is Divorce Beach (which is a cool experience but be super careful of those Pacific Ocean waves because you will get swept away!) and it's much less crowded. Really clean, beautiful, and worth visiting.

Yelp
BEAUTIFUL BEACH! Its just amazing views and you must take a trip out here for sure if your in CABO. They offer bottomless glass boat rides here depending who you purchase it from, they have water taxi's you can catch on the Marina or you can purchase trips from your hotel or even local vacation agencies. You get some pretty good history also from the locals and its just amazing. The water is choppy so if you tend to get sea sick this might not be for you. Life Vests are mandatory!! Don't be silly and choose to be cool, not worth it. When you get on the beach you can swim in certain parts and they offer snorkeling, scuba and other little water sports here. Theres plenty of vendors offering there hand made jewelry, clothing, hats, even pictures with lizards and iguanas! You have to come and just experience it yourself and trust me you will not be one less satisfied and happy you took the trip out here. ** NEGOTIATE & be stern with these locals cause trust me you be surprised how much they will drop there cost when they see you won't just settle for there prices and want to make business.
google avatar

Rene B.

Yelp
Beautiful beach! We got a water taxi from the marina and it was only $3 (dollars) each way. Be sure to take a small ice chest with drinks and snacks because it is isolated. Use a water taxi with life preserves, don't worry, you can see fish in glass bottom boat or just by looking over side. Don't miss it

Yelp
Beautiful! A must stop while in cabo. Had a great time in the water and on the beach, and was able to buy a couple beers from some locals.

Yelp
Super gorgeous beach! You can hire a water taxi (which is cheapest) to get here, or you can take a tour (not as cheap). It's worth checking out....even if you just pass by in a water taxi the scene of it all is breathtaking.
