Lovund Hotell

Beautiful location, but the room was way below standard for any modern hotel. View in from the street, and the only way to block the view was with dark curtains that let no light through. Paint was missing from furniture, double bed was two singles pushed together. No aircondition or fan so got hot and humid. No extraction fan from bathroom which looked like something from a campsite. All in all it needs a renovation. |Food in the restaurant at dinner was good, breakfast average, but that doesn't fix the well overpriced accommodation.

We all make mistakes; how you deal with them is what separates the pros from the others!|When checking in with 3 other couples, not 4 as originally planned, the reception had misunderstood (or, to be honest, maybe we weren’t clear in the cancellation email) our cancellation of 1 room. So with a full hotel, they were basically short of one room. Rather than fussing, the reception staff offered us all free Prosecco, while sorting it out. No stress, just pure professionalism!|Add to that absolutely amazing food, a great , spacious, room, and a view from the rooftop terrace money cannot buy. And the best breakfast any of us has ever had!|My highest recommendation, and thank you all at the hotel!

The beautiful free ferry ride to Lovund took us to within a 15 minute walk to this lovely hotel. For such an out of the way place, the food and service were top rate! We had a lovely view of the water and birds from our balcony. The restaurant’s food was superb! Close to two hikes we chose to take… one to the clifftop golf tees to hit a few environmentally friendly fish food balls into the blue water below, and the other to see the puffins in the evening.

The best service My girlfriend and me could ever expect. Humble and patient staff, Which showed great patience and gave many solutions if any questions asked, such as dealing with out indecisive regarding which meals to order, even if we placed or received wrong order they clarified it at the dinner table and sorted it right away, and this with a full seated restaurant . ||We ate both lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant which delivered at a high score even as the Corona crisis was ongoing and outside of summer season. ||Lunch was fish-scale and cocos based soup with a recommended bottle of white vine, enjoyed in the beautiful sea view from the restaurant. It had plane basic tastes with just enough warm from spice and fresh bread to the side. Very good. However for dinner was a very step up with 3dish course. The Salmon starter with 4 different preparations took salmon to another level for us both and again complimented the materials Lovund has to offer. Espesially the Cevice stood out exceptionally with a perfect balance. Also found freshly smoked salmon, salmon tartar and sashimi on the plate . Both Main dishes of Calf and Halibut were prepared by the book. If I can recommend, go for the halibut 42, which also I have never tasted the likes of fish prepared with this texture, perfectly balanced side dishes with exciting touch by the chef. ||as we needed to reach the express craft from Lovund we did not get around for breakfast, however the desk clerk packed a breakfast bag for us with fresh productes during checkout, again, great service. Will definitively come back here. ||||Eventho we had prepaid out room a week in advance, they had a friday campaign for reduced room price and restaurant package, which they gladly included us into without requesting it our self.

Book in advance! When we arrived only one room was available so we had no choice but to cramp ourselves in a tiny accommodation (3 family members + a dog). Not sure what would have happened if the weather would have been bad. We asked for a baby bed, which was delivered, but not installed. However the evening staff were amazing and installed it upon our request. What save this experience? The hotel is in a beautiful location and the views are out of this world. The food available in the restaurant is just amazing. We have the 3 course meal and it was a culinary odyssey! The breakfast was nice as well.

Great hotel; central location, good service and nice opportunities for food (both breakfast and dinner were of great quality, although only the former was included), drinks and other activities. Room was great, but could have been excellent if the double bed had not been two single beds put togethers and they provided dressing gowns to wear for the sauna or a swim.

Very accommodating for our needs, putting extra beds in the rooms for the children. We stayed in the older part of the hotel. The rooms are recently refurbished although the bathrooms are of an older standard. No tea/ coffee making facilities, but we could have cups of tea from the machine in the restaurant at no extra cost. Amazing breakfast with beautifully prepared open sandwiches.

Lovund Hotel is perfect in all ways- the island is a wonderful setting;, the architecture is unique with excellent views from the hotel rooms; breakfast buffet was abundant, dinners were excellent; and above all the staff were helpful, thoughtful and very professional. We had a day outing to the island of Træna - everyone involved were superb!
