Lovund Hotell

A professional staff offering great service. A beautiful location and beautiful views from our room. Nice and well thought-through interior. And a great breakfast with high-quality ingredients. However there are a few things that could have been better: - The new building looks like a soul-less office building from the outside. Not very cozy and not having an architecture fitting into the environment. But at least a nice inside. - No AC in our room in the newest building. Would have expected that from a modern hotel, especially when our room temperature was just below 30 degrees upon checking in. However, the staff was service-mineded and helpful in assisting us in getting a fan and to fully open the windows. - The 5 set menu was below what I would have expected from a hotel like this. 4/5 dishes were sub-par in my opinion (with only the lamb main dish living up to any expectations. That was a good one). And, saying "the seafood are provided from local fishermen" and then serving farmed salmon as the main course, well, that is quite a stretch in my opinion. We were hoping for something else. All in all, a nice hotel at a spectacular place, worthy a visit.

Beautiful views from the cozy cabin, an excellent dinner and breakfast, and lovely walks on the island to see the puffins. Staff went above and beyond when we left behind a small backpack with sentimental items in it, and they found a way to deliver it to us en route before we left the country - amazing!

We were excited about our stay in Lovund and this hotel made it easy and thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, there was an art gallery that looked out over part of the island and the water and the dinner at the hotel was the best meal my partner and I have ever had in our life! The staff were very friendly and attentive. Super close to the puffins and an extremely enjoyable part of our holiday from Australia.

Beautiful location, but the room was way below standard for any modern hotel. View in from the street, and the only way to block the view was with dark curtains that let no light through. Paint was missing from furniture, double bed was two singles pushed together. No aircondition or fan so got hot and humid. No extraction fan from bathroom which looked like something from a campsite. All in all it needs a renovation. |Food in the restaurant at dinner was good, breakfast average, but that doesn't fix the well overpriced accommodation.

We all make mistakes; how you deal with them is what separates the pros from the others!|When checking in with 3 other couples, not 4 as originally planned, the reception had misunderstood (or, to be honest, maybe we weren’t clear in the cancellation email) our cancellation of 1 room. So with a full hotel, they were basically short of one room. Rather than fussing, the reception staff offered us all free Prosecco, while sorting it out. No stress, just pure professionalism!|Add to that absolutely amazing food, a great , spacious, room, and a view from the rooftop terrace money cannot buy. And the best breakfast any of us has ever had!|My highest recommendation, and thank you all at the hotel!

Book in advance! When we arrived only one room was available so we had no choice but to cramp ourselves in a tiny accommodation (3 family members + a dog). Not sure what would have happened if the weather would have been bad. We asked for a baby bed, which was delivered, but not installed. However the evening staff were amazing and installed it upon our request. What save this experience? The hotel is in a beautiful location and the views are out of this world. The food available in the restaurant is just amazing. We have the 3 course meal and it was a culinary odyssey! The breakfast was nice as well.

Great hotel; central location, good service and nice opportunities for food (both breakfast and dinner were of great quality, although only the former was included), drinks and other activities. Room was great, but could have been excellent if the double bed had not been two single beds put togethers and they provided dressing gowns to wear for the sauna or a swim.

The beautiful free ferry ride to Lovund took us to within a 15 minute walk to this lovely hotel. For such an out of the way place, the food and service were top rate! We had a lovely view of the water and birds from our balcony. The restaurant’s food was superb! Close to two hikes we chose to take… one to the clifftop golf tees to hit a few environmentally friendly fish food balls into the blue water below, and the other to see the puffins in the evening.
