We booked for 2 on a Friday night and from arrival the service and atmosphere was great. We were seated and our drinks taken, with our meal out to us within 15 minutes!! We got the serve us platter and it is well worth it at $59pp. Honestly I was surprised at how good the whole experience was. I wouldn't bring my kids here, but for my wife and I, it was excellent! We took the leftovers back to the hotel for a late night feed! We were a 2 minute walk away at a nearby hotel.

An absolute home run for BBQ cooked meat in Adelaide, tucked away in the underrated port I've tried a lot of different meat throughout Adelaide and most places are good; however, few are great and even fewer are incredible. Low and Slow rightfully deserves the title as some of the best BBQ I've had in South Australia Port Adelaide is an under-explored area for me, and tucked away on the main strip is this beast of a restaurant. The decor is simple, but the atmosphere is powerfully welcoming. Pair this with some of the best front of house staff with the most water-melting food and you have a winning combination I cannot rate this place highly enough Skip breakfast, have a light lunch and come here to try everything - you won't leave disappointed

Meat falls off the bone, melts in your mouth, full of flavour and juicy. I love the mac n cheese, its very cheesy, almost painfully so, but thats what makes it delightful. The staff were delightful and charming. We got the feed me for 2, 10/10 would recommend

This place is a Port Adelaide institution and I’ve heard a lot about it, but only went for the first time this week! They’re very popular, make sure you book ahead - we came on a Tuesday night and we only had the option to book a table outside. Luckily they had nice outdoor heaters. TIP!! If it’s your first time just order the banquet option ($60 per person) because you get to a try a little bit of everything. It’s actually really good value for money. You can figure out what you like best and the next time you come you can order those specific meats! Out of the sides we got my favourite was the mac and cheese. We also paid extra to get the gravy, it’s a good texture and consistency which was perfect for dipping everything in. The service was really friendly, informative and patient. I can’t wait to come back. **photos feature the amount of food we received for a banquet of 4x people - very generous!

The food in this photo is $150 for 2 people. (Not worth the price for the portion size) The portion would have been more reasonable between $100-$120. $150 felt really steep. - . Brisket ends were nice. ✅ Pricey - ($14 for 100 grams). . Kransky was really plain, very disappointing. ❌ (Petrol station quality, maybe worse) . Pulled brisket and the cut are okay, a bit dry. ✅ . Mac and cheese was thick and dry. ❌ . Brisket chilly was nice. ✅ . Corn bread was good. ✅ . Chicken wings were average. ❌ (Three average wings shouldn’t have contributed much price to the $120 green plate in the photo.) . Sauces were good. ✅ - Definitely had its ups and downs, if i went another time, I would carefully select dishes from the menu rather than the (let us feed you) option on the menu.

This American BBQ restaurant is a cozy spot with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food is top-notch—perfectly smoked meats with rich flavors that hit the spot every time. For the quality you get, the prices are really reasonable, making it a great value. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall laid-back and welcoming vibe. Whether you're craving ribs, brisket, or pulled pork, this place delivers every time just remember to book in advance!

First time trying low and slow after wanting to try for so long. My husband and I got the feed me option with all 5 meats and a choice of 4 sides. Exceeded my expectations not going to lie. The pulled pork shoulder is definitely some of the best I’ve ever had along with the kransky, & Mac and cheese, they were by far the stand outs for me whilst my husband said he loved the brisket and the chicken wings.👌, the charcoal on the meats was amazing, just the way we like it and the potato salad was pleasant coolness after eating the chicken wings which had an awesome kick. That is just the food, the service is exceptional especially the guy who served us and I feel bad because I forgot his name. Will be back

The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We have a mustard allergy and they were very attentive and careful. I recommend it 100%.

Yelp
A fab find on our Sunday outing. The Young Henry's beer was fab as always. But the food was just to die for. Mine was pulled pork, kransky and Mac 'n Cheese. Just fab. I also tried some of the too beef brisket and it was fab too. If I lived near here this would be my local go to food place!

Yelp
Mac n cheese, pulled pork and apple slaw... oh my! Went there with friends and had the banquet ($35 per person and they bring out trays of food) and left a very happy lady. I absolutely loved the pulled pork, thought it was the winner out of the meats, and it went so well with the apple slaw. The mac n cheese was great, but serving sizes for the sides were a bit small (I ate 4 'serves' of mac n cheese and could easily have eaten more). The potato tots were salty and crispy and tasted great with the blue cheese dipping sauce. I absolutely hate blue cheese, but this sauce was great. The only disappointment for me was the beef brisket. It tasted nice but hadn't been cooked long enough so the fat hadn't broken down properly. Not a huge deal though as I was happy to keep going back to that delicious pulled pork. The staff were really great and the store itself had a really good vibe. If you're thinking of going I have two pieces of advice for you: 1. Book a table! They are really busy so you'll probably miss out if you don't book 2. Go as soon as they open! They only cook a certain amount of each item and sell out quite regularly. My husband went there once at 7pm and they'd already sold out of the beef brisket (they have a count on the wall that tells you how many of each are still available that night).

Yelp
Places like this force me to over eat and roll outta there one happy woman! We had a group of 8 and opted for the banquet menu option - all the meats and 4 sides. This was a huuuuuuge amount of food. What we didn't eat we got to take home with us too! My picks were the ribs, chicken wings with blue cheese sauce, mac and cheese and the fried donut dessert. Like I said over eating is required in order to sample everything! Ill be back for sure!!

Yelp
I FINALLY made it into Low and Slow, and man oh man I was not disappointed. They were booked out for two seatings, so I highly, HIGHLY recommend booking in advance. We were greeted by Angus who ran through the menu with us and got our drinks. The store is decorated with lots of cool bits and pieces hanging on the walls. We were taken care of the whole time we were there, with different staff checking in on us. Despite being busy our food came out on time and was so.damn.tasty. Being in a group is ideal as you can swap and taste each others meals, but the pulled pork and smoked kranksy are especially winners. Get some blue cheese sauce for the side and some potato salad (probably the best potato salad i've had since Berlin) I'll be back here very soon, not only is the food tasty and a good serving to price ratio, but Low and Slow has the tastiest barbecue in Adelaide -- a food truck success story, and they really deserve all the business their getting.

Yelp
Low and Slow have got meat worked out. The ribs were the best I've ever eaten. Meat just fell off the bone. Not dry. Succulent. Delicious. Had the 3 sliders to taste. All were good. But the kransky was amazing. Next time i go back in just going to get link upon link of that smoked kransky. I never knew a sausage could be so fricken good. Apple slaw was light. Tots were yum. Had some of the burbon. Drinks on offer were crafty but nice. Want to go back and try Young Henry's cider. Will be going back. Inside if busy (which ìt mostly is) is loud. Would recommend sitting outside.

Yelp
Carnivore and Hopps lovers unite! The name might be Low and Slow, but the food came out Fast and on tables (appropriately!). I went here with my housemate for her birthday dinner, and can i just say, this was a huge treat! Very naughty meals, but who eats like this everyday?? If you did, you might have some artery problems with the cholesterol and fats ----excuse my nursing brain, but who needs to talk about those in this review? We found making a decision on what to eat remarkably hard --- so many options of what to eat. But there is a saving grace: pay $75 in total, get a selection of all the best bits like the ribs and pulled pork, but you also get to choose 3 sides to accompany this. And 2-3 people could do this comfortably (the two of us took up about a meal worth of left over). Good old fashioned Americana food that has been deliciously cooked in all the bad-goodness that makes this food warm the belly and sedate the soul! Theres also a count down board that shows how many ribs are left in the place - so you know if they are still available or not... excellent! We paired our two plattered meals with a Young Henry's Large Ale - again, we generously shared this between the two of us. What more can you want? An additional fun feature - when mentioned that this was for my housemates birthday (get birthday goodies when you can I say!), they brought out a complimentary shot of bourbon with sweet pickle juice chaser. She did the whole lot!!!! I was so impressed. A great special treat or a blokes weekly feast!

Yelp
Great Southern American BBQ style food, it's definitely worth trying the sides. The service is alway friendly and quick and they do take away. I always book, especially for a weekend because it gets packed. The earlier the better because first in best dressed and sometimes they get eaten out of the best stuff like the ribs and hot wings. They have a pretty good website where you can check out the menu and make a reservation.

Yelp
Simply put, the best brisket out there. I have toured texas to eat BBQ and I thought nothing would come close but this place does. Great brisket with a fantastic smoke ring and bark. The sides are a good compliment to the food. The BBQ sauce they have is home made and to be honest I would happily drink the sauce straight and feel no shame. Its AMAZING good work to the team there always A class service.

Yelp
I've eaten there twice in the last month and it's been great both times. The banquet is def the way to go, the highlights being the kranskys, ribs, pulled pork, man and cheese, apple slaw and tots. Book ahead and starve myself ourself during the day.

Yelp
From Food Van to Store, Low and Slow (with the help from Renewal SA) have opened an Eatery in Port Adelaide, Near the Light House. It's working well too. It's certainly pulling in the locals for a good feed. We ordered some Take Away to share from their selection, We ordered some of the Pulled Pork, Brisket, Cheese Kransky and some Hot Wings. along with sides of Beans, Mac 'n' Cheese and Tots, Other side options include apple slaw, potato salad and collard greens. It's all very tasty Southern American Food. No, we didn't have room for the Slow Cooked Pork Ribs. It all tastes all pretty good, like a nice slow cook BBQ, the meats were all juicy and tender with a nice flavour. If you are hanging out down "The Port" for the evening, you could do worse...

Yelp
Been looking forward to going here for sooooo long, and wasn't disappointed. The four in our group went for the $35 banquet-style feed each. To say it was delicious, melt in the mouth, fall off the bone heaven, would be an understatement! I have a son living in Texas, so I think I'm well qualified to speak about how well this food stacks up against the real thing. Go there. Eat - lots. And enjoy a gastronomic experience unrivalled in this style anywhere in Adelaide!!!

Yelp
Walking from a car service my boyfriend recognized a friend in a food truck, lucky for him it was a burger vendor. Having considered himself a seasoned burger veteran he grabbed a pulled pork burger. Being a vego I got pretty restless at the prospect of him eating his dumb burger in front of me but to my surprise it came with a a small side of coleslaw, potato salad and a pickle! It was a cheap price to pay for the lot (13 dollars from memory?) and it felt good supporting a small Adelaide business. Whilst the burger was just plain pulled pork, no lettuce or dressings besides a little sauce I'm sure it would have tasted even more amazing with the sides chucked in but unfortunately for him it was girlfriend taxed. Worth grabbing if you're on the run and a bit of a burger fiend!

Yelp
Amazing American style bbq. Their brisket is something else and they're not shy with the pickles if you ask for more - which I definitely do. We popped in about an hour before closing with a group of 8 and they made space for us and were super friendly - they didn't rush us or try to get us out the door, smiled and joked. The decor is unpretentious and simple - as it should be. The food is really excellent, and they also hooked me up with a very generous pour of 10yr Old Man R.I.P. Van Winkle which was delicious and a perfect way to end the evening. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Come here if your after great American comfort food. Sensational slow cooked brisket, pulled pork and mouthwatering racks of ribs all complemented by assorted sides. I've been here 4 times and don't plan on stopping. The service could be much better as I've had to wait for a drink a couple of times, but the beers are cold and the hard lemonade is delicious. Where the service may lack the food more than makes up for it. Try everything it's all wonderful.

Yelp
We saw the write up in the Weekend Paper - Ribs! Port Adelaide! - so tonight we decided to give them a try at short notice and were lucky to get a booking for two at the first sitting. I could sit here and write a long review, but I would just be repeating all the positive things said in every other review here. Read them all, roll them all together, and they give a fairly good assessment of just how awesome this experience was for us. We did the banquet for two as it was our first time and it was worth every mouthful. We even took a couple of the ribs home for lunch tomorrow as there was just to much for my lovely wife and I to finish. The apple slaw was refreshing light and very tasty. If they were selling the dipping sauce for the wings I'd have bought some to take home. The Dry Cider I personally found a but bland for my own taste, but then after discussing it with Angus(?) behind the bar, I added a wedge if fresh lime (squeezed and dropped into the glass) and 'wow' it just changed the cider from 'Errr, Ok' to 'Thank you Sir, May I have another . . .' While the food was awesome, the staff made the night. For a near full house, they seemed to have little trouble stopping and having a chat with everyone as they roamed the tables. We will definitely be back, and am already planning to drag family and friends there to sample the delights. Next time I will try something specific from the menu so I have some space to sample the desert menu. Must be time to think up some challenges for the boys - lamb? I think low and slow may well need to look for a larger venue.
