Lower Barns

Just spent 2 days at Lower Barns and loved it. This place is magical, the accommodation and the surrounding gardens have been very thoughtfully put together and there are little touches that make you smile. Its very special as there is no light pollution at all at night and during the day its so peaceful with no noise of traffic, people or anything apart from wildlife , so restful and relaxing. If you are looking for total relaxation and rest this is the place. We stayed in the Hay Loft and marvelled at the high standards of decor and design. so many little touches like being left cotton buds and make up pads, a booklet of recommended things to do and places to go , so much choice of teas and coffee, local milk left in the fridge and replenished daily, home made fruit cake left in a tin with plates and napkins, i could go on and on. Janie and Mike are the perfect hosts who have built this place from scratch since 1992 and now how to cater and look after their guests whilst allowing privacy . Perfect place to totally unwind an d they do cater for very special weddings the grounds are amazing. Individually designed accommodation adds a great personal touch, review the website for yourself., There is an amazing hot tub on site and outdoor space to enjoy. With Cornwall all around you this is well worth a stay.

My husband and I got married at Lower Barnes during the summer. We stayed in ‘The Nook’ for two nights, along with our two dogs 🐶 Well what can I say, Lower Barns is set on such beautiful grounds, surrounded by nature and Cornish countryside. And there are lots of different animal guests on the ground, including a beautiful owl 🦉, chickens, and Freda 🐶. Our wedding was everything we could have asked for. Janie and Mike were fantastic hosts, and witnesses to our wedding. Mike took lots of photos on the day and even drove us to a nearby coastline to capture wedding photos. I loved the Mexican and quirky themes throughout the accommodation. We had our own sauna and hot tub. We are so grateful to Lower Barns, Janie, Mike, and Freda, that we had an incredible wedding and stay! Were looking forward to returning again in the future 😊💖

We had our wedding at lower barns this weekend and wow what can I say! Everything was beautiful the grounds were absolutely gorgeous, but the thing that made it great is Janie and Mike. Nothing was to much for them and come away feeling like you've been staying with friends, they truly made our wedding perfect, thank you! See you on our anniversary!

Just got back from a three night stay at lower barns. What a lovely friendly and homely place🥰 Made to feel very welcome with everything you could possibly want from a B&B and more. Lovely quirky decor and comfortable beds. I could go on and on about this place can’t wait to visit again next year… Oh and I just Loved the locally sourced produce for breakfast…Best scrambled eggs! 😋😍 Top marks guys from Jim and Jules xxx

Highly recommend this B&B, Lovely private room with outdoor area. We stayed an extra night as it was such a lovely place to stay, close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Megavissey. Hosts Mike and Janie were so welcoming, serving up delicious breakfasts and nothing was too much trouble..

Two months ago today we got married at Lower Barns. It was such a special, beautiful and relaxed day. ||Janie and Mike were incredible throughout the whole stay, they really went the extra mile to make sure that the whole stay was perfect! They were the best hosts! ||The accommodation is quirky and full of colour and life, all the rooms were decorated beautifully. The food throughout the whole stay was delicious especially our wedding meal cooked by Janie! An exceptional chef!! The food was exceptional for all of us and catering for myself being vegan with such ease and even made our wedding cake vegan! which was so pretty and delicious 😋 ||Mike was our photographer in lower barns he was super attentive taking photos from very early all the way through the whole day. He took us down to two gorgeous secluded beaches. The photos are so beautiful! ||Thank you so much and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to elope! We felt like we were on our own little bubble at Lower Barns and will definitely be looking to book again for our wedding anniversary! ||Mom and Dads Review:|We were absolutely delighted with the whole stay. The rooms are stunning and so many thoughtful little touches of in our rooms such as Vegan chocolates and cake. the attention to detail and care was second to none. It’s hard to put into words how beautiful they have made this venue. we will definitely be back.

Myself and my partner (or should I say husband) came here to have an intimate ceremony with only our children and our parents. Janie and Mike made us feel so welcome and our wedding went perfectly, it was exactly how we imagined it. Every part of lower barns is absolutely amazing and so unique. We stayed in nook, our bed was huge and so comfy and having our own hot tub and sauna really made our three night stay that bit more relaxing. Each morning we received a wonderful cooked breakfast with fruit, yoghurt and homemade granola to accompany it (which was amazing). We honestly could not have wished for a more perfect intimate wedding, they took all of the stress out of planning a wedding and it was just beautiful. we will definitely be booking in for a stay every year on our anniversary!
