Lower Barns

We had the most amazing little wedding and stay at Lower Barns. The rooms and gardens are beautiful and eclectic- unlike anywhere I've ever been! We stayed in the Hayloft Hangout with our children and we all felt at home right away, it is so confortable with beautiful things everywhere. Breakfast was amazing and the hosting from Janie and Mike was exceptional! Such a special place- cannot recommend highly enough!

We stayed for 4 nights and had a superb time. The decor is based around Mike and Janie's experiences of South America and the whole place is warm and colourful. Our room (Lawnside) has a very comfortable bed, a cosy sitting area and well-equipped shower room. Breakfast was served either on the terrace outside our room, weather permitting, or in the dining room. The food was wonderful. Everything was immaculate and Mike and Janie could not have been better hosts. We thoroughly recommend Lower Barns and will certainly to stay here again when we next visit Cornwall.

What an amazing find. Janie and her staff have a property of amazing loveliness. From our first contact till our arrival Janie was most accommodating as we required a few changes before our arrival. We were in the Hayloft. Ground floor was spacious and exceptionally clean. King size bed with nice mattress was super comfy. Fridge/freezer, tv, tea and coffee kettle, Shower wet room with toilet. Upstairs the same quality plus twin beds and Shower/wet room. Breakfast included was so good. Ingredients of the best possible products including Fresh Fruits yoghurt, Full English, Smoke Salmon, Smoked Fish and vegetarian options.|The gardens were extensive and immaculately kept. Also they had a hot tub, Free Parking.|Property was Approx 3/4 miles from Mevagissey. The single track road a little hair raising but no issues.|Thank you Janie for everything. We would definitely recommend this excellent B/B. Would give 10 stars for sure.

The hosts (Janie and Mark) were so friendly and welcoming, and the setting itself is just the perfect place to escape. We arrived quite late on bikes so were grateful for the hot tub, and large very comfy bed. I had one of the best nights sleep I had in ages, and then a lovely breakfast in the lovely breakfast room. Highly recommend :-)

We didn't know quite what to expect, it was stunning, quirky, & fabulous with friendly owners. Janie & Mike have created a place you don't want to leave. Breakfast on the terrace - so peaceful, along with lovely rooms. When we visit the area again it will be out first choice of accommodation.

All I can say is WOW what an amazing place we had our wedding at Lower Barns and it was perfect. The setting is beautiful, the rooms are luxurious with a quirky homely touch but what makes this place special is Janie and Mike the masterminds behind everything. They make you so welcome, you instantly relax and have the best time. They are so thoughtful and are running an amazing business we already can't wait to go back. Our only regret is not staying on after the wedding I highly recommend staying a few extra days!

This was an amazing find a really beautiful place full of love and happiness. Mike and Janie are perfect hosts. We had such a relaxing time there and it is so close to many exciting places to visit. The coast line is a drive away but stunning. Janie and Mike do not put a time limit on your day. You can go out and come back and just sit and enjoy the gardens. Have a relaxing dip in the hot tub! Nothing is too much trouble for them. Cleanliness is 100%. We had the joy of wonderful weather and ate breakfast in the garden. Everyone we met there was delightful. If you need somewhere to get married alone or with some friends this is the place.

Our wedding was held at Lower Barns on Friday 11th April. I stayed in Cranny Suite the night before with my daughter. |The venue could have not looked any prettier. I was completely blown away with the decor and layout for our wedding and blessing. It just looked truly magical. |The stay was delightful, the suite is amazing, quirky , colourful , bright , spotlessly clean and so many added extras. |Janie and Mike are the most wonderful hosts their hospitality experience is just amazing. |The wedding day was so much more than I could have ever dreamed off , it really felt like a fairy tale. ||Thank you so much Janie and Mike for making our Day so incredible.
