Lowthwaite B&B

We had a wonderful stay at Lowthwaite. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The home cooked breakfasts were fabulous, cooked by Tine, we tried most things on the breakfast menu including homemade Granola, muesli and bread. We were offered homemade muffins everyday to take out with us or enjoy when we got back from a day out. Jim’s knowledge of walks in the area was invaluable, for every walk we did including a hike up Helvellyn, we took Jim’s advice as to the best routes to take and where to park. Lowthwaite B&B is the perfect spot for a Lakes getaway. The property is beautiful, immaculate with lots of tasteful, thoughtful touches which make you feel at home. There is a great history to many pieces of furniture. |Jim and Tine are wonderful hosts, their attention to detail is evident. Local knowledge of walks and attractions are invaluable. Everything was explained very clearly. Jim also struck that tricky balance of being available and attentive without being intrusive. |Lastly, the food was delicious. Fabulous variety with plenty of home made goodies, plus daily muffins to eat or take for the day.|The property itself is tucked nicely away on its own, enough to feel some peace and separation though without being overly remote.|Thanks for a lovely stay Jim and Tine, we hope to see you again in the future.|Richard & Kasia

Super location. Quiet but close to Ullswater. Lovely rooms and the hosts Jim and Tine couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was excellent and extensive with fresh baked muffins in our room each day. Highly recommended. We walked from the B&B so could give the car a rest.

Great B&B. Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Lovely, clean room with good amenities. Loved our breakfast. Tine was very accommodating for one of us who is vegan. Enjoyed the peaceful location but also many restaurant options within a 10-15 min drive.

The warmest welcome, gorgeous food, and a lovely newly renovated room with its own private garden space full of birds. What an amazing location, off the beaten track but easy access to Ullswater and the main roads. I would live there if I could! Thanks so much Jim and Tine for a lovely stay.

The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Tine makes the majority of what’s on offer herself. Jim and Tine run a well run beautifully presented b&b. They are both warm and friendly and highly skilled individuals! I felt relaxed like I was at home and nothing seemed too much bother. Thank you for another wonderful memory! I like the fact that Jim went into the detail of their home and gave a little knowledge about the furniture in the room. Nice little touch. And the muffins and home made bread was top notch!

Yet another stay in our favourite place in the Lake District. It great value for money, with delicious food, unparalleled service and fantastic rooms with views over the fells. Jim and Tine always go the extra mile to make everyone's stay memorable. We now consider them and their family friends. You will not find a better place to stay.
