Outstanding Experience – highly recommended! It is hard to put into words how truly special a Primitive Trail is. I’ve just completed my second with Lowveld Trails – the first in Big 5 territory on Timbavati, and now the spectacular Makuya Gorge in northern Kruger. The sublime pleasure and simple privilege to (re)connect with nature in this way - a complete digital detox, sleeping under the stars, your hour’s contemplation on night watch – it gets you back to basics with time to think about life and what you do (or rather don’t) need to be content and fulfilled. The guiding is exceptional – not just in the typical way of identifying nature’s tracks and calls – but in their connection and time spent with the guests. Supremely professional, unimaginable expertise, and such a gentle, profound way of connecting with you. Thank you Brenden and Lori. Just do it!

We did the primitive trail in the Kalahari and it was truly life changing. The scenary, wildlife and wilderness feeling was on another level. But even more importantly was the quality of the guides Brenden and Johan. They took the experience to another level. I cannot recommed a primitive trail with Lowveld Trails enough, especially in this day and age. It is the perfect way to disconnect from modern life and reconnect with the wild.

My 4th trail in Makuya with Lowveld Trails and I still can’t recommend it enough - Breathtaking scenery; a total digital detox; and a chance to reconnect to nature, friends and yourself. Thank you to Lori and Brendan for facilitating yet again an incredible few days… literally life changing and so special! Your small touches throughout are what made it the incredible experience it was. I will be back next year!

I had another thrilling experience while joining Lowveld Trails for another Mentorship Trail! It's hard to put into words just how fulfilling it was to be back out there with them. What an unforgettable trip again with Wayne and Leighton in Makuya. The beauty of the gorge is epic, hearing the sound of the fish eagle is magical, crossing the river, and hoping there is no crocodile close by, is energizing and the quietness at night, doing the night watch under the stars, is soothing the soul. So much fun with our group. I loved every moment and will definitely be back again next year!
