Yelp
Yesssss. On so many levels.
I am a HUGE bagel fan, and my dining partner is happy to obliged my obsession. Since our first visit, this is one of my all-time favourite breakfast places.
My go-to breakfast is poached eggs with a wholemeal bagel, a side of lox and avocado, with the house-made lemonade. Everything on that plate is delectable. The bagels are flawless - the 'everything' seeded bagel is heavenly, but in winter, the wholemeal is deliciously filling. I could eat the chutney that is served on the side with a spoon, and I need to check to see if they sell it in a jar - or a bucket. The salmon is cured in-house (or it was when we first started eating here) and is the best salmon ever. It will make the packets at the supermarket look like pale, stringy disappointment. The avocado is perfect, even with a shortage.
I can also wax lyrical about the Lox Bagel, which is piled with salmon and wonderfully fresh. I've honestly never eaten anything here that was tasty and fresh. The only things I'm not a fan of are the huge lines if you arrive around 10am, some less than pleasant staff members, and the bland hot chocolate.
Bagels and bread are for sale on a rack, too, which means whilst I might not be able to recreate my poached egg plate at home, I can certainly live vicariously with one of their bagels.
Now I'm craving one. Damnit.
