Our main complaint was the mattress, hard & lumpy like the springs were coming thru. Added to that we had a room overlooking the main road & river so it was quite noisy all night. In general the room was in a poor state of repair. The guy on the front desk didn't give any information about facilities in the hotel. The only good thing I have to say about the place is location.

Had a lovely, comfortable 3 nights stay here. Everything was in good working order and very clean, housekeeping came in and freshened up our towels, sheets, water and tea and coffee. The manager was very welcoming, open and honest about how best to plan our trips. Breakfast was cooked to order each morning and included a large plate of fruit. The location was perfect too, nicely on the riverfront and just 1 min walk to excellent night market and a few minutes walk to lots of other attractions, restaurants, cafes and shops. Also the complimentary lift from the airport was much appreciated, thank you

I know that I'm in Laos, and things run differently here, but I feel ripped off. I have travelled using Agoda all over Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand, but I have never been charged in USD before. As it was I thought this was a little over priced, but figured it was right on the banks of the Mekong river with aircon, wifi and a pool, but now that it's in US dollars not Aussie, it is WAY over priced. When I arrived there was nobody around, and eventually I found a young girl cleaning who gave me the key to my room. Rooms are nice enough, and the bum gun has great rinsing pressure! They ask you to leave your key with reception when you go out, but when you come back to get it, it's just sitting on the counter with nobody around watching out for it, so anybody could walk in off the street and help themselves to whatever is in your room.||Did I mention there is no pool?

I arrived on the 28th February was shown to my upgraded room to unpack. 2 mins later there was a knock at my door and the girl had cut up fruit and pineapple juice as a welcome. That was really nice. ||Breakfast was everything from banana pancakes to Pho Bo. Really nice. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive. The manager and his wife run the hotel very well. Anything I asked for was not a problem. They were very nice.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was comfortable with most of the facilities you expect. It was one of the few hotels we stayed at which provided a water cooler in reception so that you could refill your water bottles. A great idea given the scourge that plastic bottles are now everywhere.||There was a seating area outside the bedroom, but it was also open access to people coming into the hotel, without it being immediately clear that it belonged to a room. So a bit odd.|| For breakfast you have to cross the road ( not busy) to sit by the river. - a lovely view to start the day. Nice juice and fruit as well as egg / ham / sausage options. It was the same each day so would be wearing if stayed there for any length of time.||As it is not the main road ( which is parallel to it) it is much quieter than some of the hotels. Everything is within easy walking reach.

We went to the Luang Prabang River Lodge 2 for an extended weekend trip. We warmly can recommend this Lodge as the complete staff is very friendly and very care taking. We had been welcomed with a tasty fruit welcome drink and a local fruit plate which had been served at our room. The room (T6) is on the first floor and was clean and quiet. You will find a shower and a bathtub as well. The shower is a bit weak but if you are getting used to the shower absolutely ok. The bed and mattress are ok and comfortable. During our visit in the beginning of October there had been no mosquitoe net. We did not need one as the room had been completely mosquito and vermin free. There had been a scented candle against mosquitoes which had been lighted when we entered the room first. This candle had been working obviously very good :) For the breakfast you had the choice between 6 different dishes which are served together with a fruit plate (Omelette, banana pancake, toast aso.) but no muesli. Coming to the points which might be improved we only noticed smaller issues like the bath which will need to be renovated in the next time. It looks beside the bathtub a bit older. No problem for us as it was clean. One day we ordered Omelette and pancake. I get the pancake and it tastes a bit like the omelet which might be done in the same device. Please note that there are 2 lodges named "Luang Prabang river lodge" in the city. So you need to check in which river lodge you are booked. Having said this we are happy to be guests and would be very happy to come back. Thank you very much for your hospitality and see you again :)

Not wanting to gush but really this place exceeded expectations. Everything was well thought-out and planned from the airport pickup, to the thoughtful hotel and city introduction at reception, to the trip suggestions and arrangements and to every other detail eg restaurant recommendations - fancy or less so as required. |The staff are really well trained and accommodating, the service is attentive but not overly so as is sometimes the case in many places and thus annoying at times. Here it is balanced just right. |The rooms are lovely with comfortable beds that can be elevated as required, have large and effective showers and in the superior rooms the fabulous balconies make for a wonderful reading spot overlooking the river. |This hotel really has a perfect location at the junction of the Mekong and Kham Nam rivers . It is serene and truly relaxing and the quality of service, restaurant offering and room furnishings make this a "must return" place for me. |The owner (Mr Urban) also appears to be really hands-on with a true appreciation for customer care and service which reflects in the attitude of his staff and in the way he makes an effort to meet and greet every guest at a welcome-drink event during one of the nights of their stay. This is a simple and much appreciated gesture that yet few hotel owner / managers bother to make.||There are many competing places for accommodation in charming Luang Prabang and many have similar offering for similar rates. Tempting as it may be however for me to shop around, I think I will make a single-minded choice when I intend to return in October! |

We stumbled across this place after spending a night down a side alley. The views over the Mekong River were amazing.|We had a room with 2 queen beds which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. Bathroom is small but fine and room has a fridge and jug. Free breakfast was nice. The tour desk next door was very helpful.|$40US per night was a good deal. |Wifi average in room but ok in reception.
