Giving this place 3 stars only because the crab cake was made with thick real crab meat which was fresh and sweet. Other than that .. there's really nothing to scream about this place and I agree with the other reviewers that the music was uncomfortably loud and hard to hold conversations. Service IMO was efficient and professional so that's one small plus point.
The pizza was horrible .... You can refer to my photo for the charred bottom and overall it just tasted bitter and overly salty with the pepperoni. Pasta taste was fine but the prawns were totally not fresh as they had a powdery texture.
Given the inaccessible location... I'll probably not return...

Chanced upon the place today looking for something else in the same building, host was amazing, coolest dude ever. We didn’t look up their opening hours earlier and didn’t know they were closing in 10 minutes. Cooldude still sat us. We only found out because we were wondering how it was so empty when the food was so amazing. Some of the other reviewers thought the food was way overpriced but two people with larger appetites could share a dish, that’s how big their portions were. And it wasn’t just the quantity, pesto pasta special was amazing and so were the starter specials — fried oysters and artichoke dip. We left so full we couldn’t walk. You’re paying Cichetti prices for IMO better food. Local food bloggers did what the local food bloggers do best, unfairly butchering an establishment.

Let's cut to the chase: Lugali BYGB delivers a killer food experience but drops the ball big-time on service. Walking in, I was immediately struck by the vibes—amazing and downright beautiful. It's the kind of place you want to love, and with food like this, it's hard not to.
The Deluxe Pie was a knockout—so good that I'm already planning my next visit just to get another slice. And the Cacio e Pepe? Chef's kiss, seriously. I could eat that every day and die happy. Don't even get me started on the Salad; it was fresh as morning dew and simply goated.
But here's where things get tricky. The service? Major letdown. I don't know if they were understaffed or just inattentive, but getting someone's attention felt like participating in a flag semaphore competition. Had to stand up to get my own cheque, no joke.
Bottom line: If Lugali BYGB can sort out their service issues, they've got the potential to be a top-tier spot. Until then, be prepared for an amazing meal but bring along some extra patience—you're gonna need it.

2nd visit for lunch on a Sunday....waited almost an hour for our pizza (with 3 additional toppings)...in between we were offered complimentary biscuit & ham dish without explaining the reason behind it...when questioned about when our pizza will be served especially after seeing the tables around us seated later than us getting their pizzas already, waitress told us our additional 3 toppings would take longer to bake than the plain pizzas ordered by the other tables!!!???
When pizza was eventually served, waiter couldn’t be bothered to explain why our pizza took a full hour to prepare and just brushed us off with a curt “your pizza’s here!”...so just be silent and eat it...unbelievable!!!
Please give your customers some credit and not treat them like some kids/idiots whom you can run circles around with distractions and half-baked explanations...if you have messed up the order, just explain, apologize and promise to do better next time....
Thankfully the hour-long baked 3-added-toppings pizza still tasted very good...which helped to make up for the unbelievably bad service.
Unpleasant dining experience regardless...certainly not the Lucali way...

The food is not special and the place is pretentious and overpriced. We tried the burrata salad (good but way too much balsamic vinegar), fried chicken “wings”, and the classic pizza ($50). The pizza tasted quite bland and I was put off by the chef keeping his mask under his chin for the whole time I was there. Desserts were good but overpriced - I had a soft serve cone for 10$ - the actual cone seemed like the one you get from McDonald’s (though the ice cream was definitely superior). Music is loud and you can barely hear people at your table - I won’t return.

Made a reservation on Chope for my anniversary dinner after hearing from my friends that their Cacio e Pepe is one of the best they’ve ever had.
And it sure is! The pasta dish was one of the best I’ve had. The long fusilli complimented the creamy sauce, and when it gets “jelat” the black pepper grounds it all. We also had the 18” pizza with pepperoni topping with roasted garlic. It was ginormous, but every bite was so good. Love the cheese!
They have a good selection of wine too; ranging from $80 to $1400. We got the $80 Pinot Grigio and loved it!
To end it all, we had the soft serve cone. A simple dessert done well. Extremely creamy! It’s almost as if the cream was freshly whipped for the soft serve.
Service was incredible, and super attentive. We felt very welcomed in the restaurant. They gave us a complimentary Rice Krispies dessert to celebrate our anniversary. The ambience was nice and romantic. Perfect for a date night - we went on a Thursday night.
One more shout out to the portion sizes - each main is definitely enough to feed 2. My partner and I are huge eaters, and this is the first restaurant that humbled us with 1 pizza and 1 pasta. Definitely worth the price!

Highly recommend: lunch and dinner would have totally different vibes and I love both. It's cozy (perfect for date night or evening with your squad) intimate in the evening and has a very chic casual flair during the day (friends and family) when the room is bright and offers great view of the river.
People come here for the pizza. Yeah it was great but I've had better! For me the best was their pasta dishes - pick any and you'll surely want more. My personal favorite is cacio e pepe! Brings me back to Rome! The staff were attentive, friendly and delightful! Coming back soon, for sure!
