Lucas Hotel

5-6 Jan. Loved this little pub so much we came back a second night for dinner. Large meals, nightly specials, cheap drinks (compared to Cradle!), all the staff were great.

We had lunch with 11 family members & 2 had a birthday which they got for free. All 11 dishes were really good & the service was fantastic. I haven't had a bad dish yet & I've been there a few times recently. I also like that it's spaciousl so you're not squashed together. I'll be back. Thanks for a great experience.

Went to Lucas Hotel for a Christmas work function. Food was amazing but unfortunately the service and attitude of staff was terrible. Ordered all meals at the same time but everyone got their meals on the table apart from one which didn't come out for a further 8 minutes. Had to ask for some service from a staff member to order deserts and once again one person had to wait an extra 10 minutes after everyone else's deserts arrived (same deserts as 2 other people on the table). Would be a good idea to get more training for staff and attitudes that actually feel like they want to be there. Would love to come back but won't be unless the staff improve on service.

We got a tip from a local, and aren't we glad we did. Food was fantastic, staff were excellent and the service from the time we arrived to the time we left was outstanding. Busy place for a Monday night. Special mention to Janeva, she was wonderful. We will be back another time when we are in Tassie.

From the moment you walk into the Lucas Hotel, you’re greeted with such a welcoming vibe. You never wait long to be seated, and the atmosphere in the dining area is warm, relaxed, and inviting — perfect for a meal out. The food is absolutely fantastic, and the staff are all so lovely and attentive. A special mention must go to Ysabella — what an incredible young woman! Her service is truly exceptional. She goes above and beyond to make sure you feel valued, not just like another patron passing through. Always cheerful, friendly, and professional, Ysabella’s approach to customer service is something you don’t often experience anymore. She really makes the dining experience extra special. Highly recommend the Lucas Hotel — great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service!

Great food, big meals, very reasonable prices, took quite some time to take our orders but couldn't fault the mains. Desserts were OK, very well priced. Would definitely return.

Absolutely love all the improvements, much nicer and love that I could read the specials while still seated. Staff were so friendly, and made me feel comfortable for my allergy requirements. Even when a change of meal was required, they were super understanding and thoughtful.

5+ stars. We shared the seafood for one. OMG there was so much!. Tasty salmon, very lightly battered juicy white fish, great garlic prawns, oysters kilpatrick, s&p calamari. I cant eat scallops so the waitress happily arranged they be replaced. All cooked to absolute perfection. Only dissapointment - we could not fit in dessert. I guess we will have to come back tomorrow. 😃

One of 2 of the best places to eat in Latrobe. Never had a bad meal yet. Some of the waitresses are just lovely and I wish I had their names. Sticky Date Pudding is to die for as is Chicken Snitzel with chips, salad and a jug of your sauce choice. I love the pepper sauce and pour it over the chicken and chips. So yummy
