Superbly presented Roman town currently being excavated. The signage and staff were first class.

A very interesting old Roman town, well laid out, lots of good information boards that give you an idea of how things would have been. A couple of nice touches like where they found human and animal footprints, seeing the wheel ruts on the gates, and part of an old metal statue they found. Keep an eye on the closing times, we visited on a Sunday and it closes at 2. The employees were so friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend. It's not huge so you could go around quite quickly if you wanted, or spend maybe up to a couple of hours. Metro close by

Super interesting spot if you are into history and archeology. I really enjoyed informative plaques, although would love to see more of them. I was there on an overcast day, so was fine, but keep in mind this place has next to no shade - bring an umbrella or schedule visit on a cooler day.

Get to knoe the origins of modern day Alicante through this early Iberian settlement, taken over by the Punics, Romans, Muslims then abandonned and almost entirely devoured by modern buildings Well worth taking the guided tour to get the full picture.

Hidden away arqueology site near Colonia Romana where Lucentum, the open air museum, is the centre-piece. Away from the crowds and not well publicised. The site has recently been refurbished, and only 50 % of excavations have been revealed. Well worth the visit.

This was one of the highlights in my Alicante vacation. Love how organized it was. The different stones color to identify what every house/room was is genius! Don't visit Alicante without spending some time here. Definitely a must see in the city

Amazing opportunity to visualize how Alicante was setup century upon century ago. The ruins give a perspective of the growth of Lucentum safely situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean. It seems a ways out from the location of Santa Barbara Castle but there are centuries of time between the two locations. Amazing self-guided historical experience; walk among the ruins and picture what life would have been like.

Nice area to visit. Guided tours do seem to be available but we missed one. Entry fee was very cheap. Signage is in Spanish and English. It is easily accessible with a nice 5km walk along the coast road from Alicante or you can get bus or tram to within a 5 minute walk
