This place is a must-try when in Boulder! The food, drinks, dog-friendly patio, and views were all perfection. Reasonably priced and the best part was our amazing server Sara - she made us feel so welcomed, was attuned to our every need, and had great recommendations! Will definitely be back 😊

Google
Really amazing brunch! Had the mountain trout dish and was very impressed. I would have liked the portions to be a little bit larger for a brunch place but the flavor and service made up for it. The best biscuits you can find in Boulder and maybe even in Denver. A boulder must try.

Google
I absolutely love this restaurant! I first tried the location in Denver, and this one is just as consistent and amazing. Their buttermilk biscuits are my favorite—so fluffy and delicious. They also serve fantastic preserves like blueberry, strawberry rhubarb, orange marmalade, and apple butter—all of them are incredibly tasty. I also highly recommend their Bloody Marys—so flavorful! That said, the restaurant itself is really small and gets very crowded. They have a waiting area upstairs, but the stairs aren’t ideal for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. It’s also a very tight squeeze when eating, which can make it feel a bit cramped.

Google
Lucile’s is a wonderful place for brunch! They have the best trout and eggs I've ever had, and I love the fresh, warm biscuits with homemade jams. Plus, fresh-squeezed OJ is always a nice way to start the day.

Google
Delicious crawfish pasta in a cozy little Creole spot with lots of historic charm. Tables are a bit tight, but the flavors make up for it! PSA: Don’t forget to pay the parking meter — we did, and yep… ticketed. 🎟️🙃

Google
Solid spot- the house is cute, but you are kind of squished in and feels a bit crowded. Food was pretty good, but nothing left me feeling like I had to go back right away. It was good just felt like it was missing a little something… portions are huge so keep that in mind when ordering. Server was friendly.

Google
Lucile’s Creole Cafe is an absolute gem with authentic creole selections made from scratch! We started off with an order of beignets - perfect little powder sugared puffy pillows of deliciousness. Husband ordered pain Perdue (French toast either praline sauce) and I chose the blueberry pancakes. Our food was hot, fresh & delicious. Our server, Nicki, was great; kept our coffee cups filled. Excellent choice while visiting Colorado. If you’re lucky enough to be near Lucile’s do yourself a favor and check them out! Highly recommend ❤️

Google
Absolutely fantastic breakfast at Lucile's! Everything was fresh and delicious. The orange juice is the best I have ever had! The biscuits were amazing. I suggest having part of your biscuit and saving some to enjoy later. The apple jam tasted like fall and the strawberry rhubarb jam was also divine.

Yelp
This is such a cute place. It is like a very large house with a patio for seating and front patio with seating. We had breakfast here. We of course had the Jalapeno grits.. To die for.... My husband had the catfish and I had pouched eggs. Everything was amazing. You get a little of New Orleans here. Great staff everyone is very kind. Place is so busy so come early on a weekend if you dont want to wait for hours.
google avatar

Yelp
This place would not survive in New Orleans or in the South in general. "Shrimp Creole" consisted of boiled shrimp with no seasoning / flavor and what tasted like canned marinara sauce over white rice. My friend's egg Benedict was a bit better but also plain and mediocre at best.

Yelp
I'm a bit picky, I guess, but this spot just didn't do it for me. It's cute, but it's also cramped--the fact that I had a very large buffoon (who was driving the servers crazy demanding extra hollandaise, then even more) seated right next to me didn't help. He was also complaining about the lack of wet wipes (!). Of note: service is kind here. Moving on. They have chicory coffee--score! It's strong, it's a little bitter, and even though it was a million degrees outside I chugged it. I ordered an eggs Pontchartrain. It was...meh. The potatoes were lightly seasoned with cajun spice, but half were raw and half were burnt (ew). I wasn't a fan of their ketchup, either. Though I will give them credit for properly poaching the eggs, the hollandaise (!) and trout both needed a ton of seasoning. I found myself pouring salt from a shaker to make it taste decent. Finally, if you're going to open at 7am the restaurant should have biscuits ready by 7:45am. As is, I just went without--it was fine, but not exactly a good showing by the kitchen. Practical notes: this place gets busy fast, it's small but they do offer outside/patio seating, I didn't do much looking but the restaurant (frankly) didn't seem overly clean. I'd skip unless I was just dying for chicory coffee.

Yelp
Lucile's is a chain of Cajun/Creole restaurants. I had breakfast/brunch here. I didn't have a reservation so there was a short wait on a Sunday morning. The restaurant is basically a large house. Indoor and outdoor seating. I got the tasso grits special. Came with a buttermilk biscuit and 2 poached eggs covered in hollandaise sauce. The food was great. A bug fell on my table 30 seconds before my food arrived. Near miss. I would try for an indoor table if I go back there.

Yelp
We absolutely loved coming here! This was my first time and it was a sweet first time. The restaurant is in a house and there are seating everywhere. There were also seats outside. If it were to be busy, it would be harder to be seated right away for I feel like it is a little limited. But overall, we did go on a Saturday morning and we did not have to wait to be seated for two. Our waitress to come to us right away and was very attentive. The tables does get cleared fast whenever dishes are being finished. Food: Gravy 4/5 -- this was great! The consistency was thick and chunky. The flavoring was really good, creamy, and a little spice to it! Shrimp and Grits 3/5 -- this wasn't a bad plate of food, I just wish there was more flavor and kick to this dish! I did enjoy this overall. Biscuit 5/5 -- the biggest and fluffiest biscuit I have had! Hands down the best biscuit. I'm very picky with my biscuits and I really enjoyed it. I had strawberry jam with mine and it was the perfect pair. The biscuits do come out fresh the oven as well! Beignets 5/5 -- these were so big, fluffy and wonderful!! Eggs Eisenhower 3.5/5 -- the potatoes seemed a little messy (but crispy and good), the eggs were great, and the sausage patty was pretty much meat smashed. Do appreciate the uniqueness Overall, I'd come here again for lunch! Food was great and homey.

Yelp
Yummy cafe in Boulder right off Pearl street. I had the cheese omelette and jalapeño grits. We also ordered the beignets. The beignets are huge and doused in powdered sugar. They're worth it though and so yummy. The omelette was super cheesy and delicious. It was pretty filling. I usually am not a fan of grits but these ones with jalapeños and cheese were yummy. Such a cute little cafe with great food.

Yelp
SO good for breakfast! We visited Lucile's Creole Cafe on a Saturday morning and got seated right away, although the restaurant was very busy. They had a small (dog friendly) outdoor seating area in the front, which was basically on the street. Our server came over with menus right away, and we ordered Iced Coffee to start with. For food, I chose the Eggs New Orleans with Cheesy Grits, and it also came with a biscuit. I could write a paragraph about the biscuit alone, which was absolutely massive - I shared it between the three of us and we still didn't finish it. The taste was great and the texture was fluffy, not dry at all. The rhubarb jam was also phenomenal with it. My Eggs New Orleans was equally impressive - tasty eggplant, great sauce, perfectly poached eggs. The cheesy grits were possibly the best I've ever had, and overall this meal was just amazing. My friends loved their food as well, including the Eggs Benedict and Carlin Country. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a while - would happily return!

Yelp
House converted to small chain cute Cajun cafe reminiscent of New Orleans. They make all their sauces and spreads in house. I got fried trout with 2 poached eggs, hollandaise, grits, and a gigantic biscuit ($16.85). The entree was very good, the biscuit was meh, but the homemade jam was incredible on the biscuit. We also shared 4 beignets ($7.25), and they were the best I've had outside New Orleans. The only thing they were missing was chocolate

Yelp
This little restaurant was recommended by a lady we met in Boulder. We decided to try it after looking at the menu and reviews. It was a cute place but not the best food. We ordered the biscuit which was excellent. I ordered The Jennifer Benedict and I t was alright, arrived to the table at room temperature. My husband ordered the Cajun Omelet which was good but not really bursting with flavors of real Creole food. We also ordered one beignet to try but does not compare to the New Orleans one's. In conclusion, this restaurant was good but not my favorite. Maybe we went with very high expectations and it wasn't up to par I guess.

Yelp
Great mom n pop place in downtown boulder. Felt like you were eating at grandmas home except with a lot of people. Not the most stroller friendly place but they helped make it work. Food was great as well.

Yelp
I heard good things about Lucile's from my boss. This is the place to go for down-home cajun breakfast. I am happy to share that my food lasted three days. Lucile's is operated out of a historic house one block north of the main downtown oval. Look for the sign by a parking meter. Go early to beat the crowd. I got a sense that the staff know how to make good food. The portions are generous. As one who was bred in the South, I'm happy to see the "caring grandma" tradition carried on. The coffee, biscuit, and main course were delightful. The one thing I'm missing is my morning newspaper (or a tablet to read one on).

Yelp
Ambiance: This is not a place were you go for ambiance...it is a super casual restaurant. Service: The folks there were very courteous and our server (Shadia) was incredibly polite and helpful Food: The food was outstanding...but be careful, the portions are MASSIVE. Here is what we ordered: * Rice and Beans with Sausage: My 7 year old ordered this and it was very tasty and not spicy at all...highly recommend it * Gumbo (bowl): The Gumbo was VERY tasty and if you like spicy food , put in a little bit of Lucile's Hot Sauce and it would be delicious. I was not super hungry and ordered the Bowl portion and it was 2x of what I would usually eat (so we have left overs)...when ordering this just make sure you decide wisely between the cup and the bowl. * Hank's Eggs: My wife got this and she said it was very tasty...it was basically a scramble with veggies * Biscuit: These are ridiculous and super tasty and fresh...be aware that each order comes with one!!

Yelp
I love this place. We started with a plate of 4 beignets. I added the house made strawberry jelly on mine, it was so good, i wish i had one right now. Afterwards i opted for the andoiulle sausage po boy. It was similar to a panini with andoiulle sausage, peppers onions mustard and cheese and came with a side of cajun fries. The staff was very attentive and accommodating as we came with a baby and new born. Everyone at the table loved their food, we cant wait to come back.

Yelp
Alright, I have been to Lucille's 4 times now and allegedly it has truly gotten worse. This review is not written with sarcasm or jokes, this is genuine. First off, our server was great, the waiters/waitresses always have been awesome (they're great). We come with 8, showing 6 of our friends of how great Lucille's was, but we are told moving tables is taboo and we are to sit 5 and 3. Not entirely unique, but inconvenient
google avatar

Yelp
Quaint spot, good food, I had the mountain trout benedict, and a great coffee. The others in the group were equally impressed.
google avatar

Van V.

Yelp
The breakfasts here are truly delightful. I usually don't pair trout with eggs...but it works and is delicious. The gumbo is spot on, and the sizable square, fluffy biscuit with preserves completes the dining experience. Will definitely be back. Approved! :)

Yelp
Similar to how ethiopian food back is the east bay CA always hits, Creole food always seems to be on point in colorado. If there is history behind this then excuse my ignorance. The other spot I went was when I was coming back from garden of the gods. But this place had the portions. That biscuit is absolutely massive and there's various jams on the table you can coat that bad boy with. We shared a round of beignets which if you haven't had is essentially and awesome, fluffy square donut. Was very pleased to learn that you could do half/half on the potato and grits sides since i wanted to try both. There's a cream spinach at a steakhouse back home that still has my heart, but this one was by no means a bad iteration. The shrimp was there. Really glad i split the sides, both were good. Flavor, portion, awesome fruit jams puts this place at a 5 star for me.

Yelp
Two thumbs up!! This place was super cute and the food was delicious. As to be expected with creole food, there was not a wide range of 'healthy food' but it's healthy for the soul every now and then. The staff was friendly and helped each other to get the food out and get people seated. We had the beignets, eggs Benedict with grits, and a biscuit with gravy. Just this things could have fed 4 people so either order less than you think you'll need or expect to take things home. Pro tip: get the fresh squeezed OJ.

Kelly C.

Yelp
The employees were lovely. The food was extremely bland. My husband's sausage poboy sandwich was the best tasting, so if you find yourself at this restaurant, go for that. The beignets and biscuits are ok. Skip the breakfast plates with hollandaise/ eggs/ potatoes. It's crowded and noisy, as breakfast places usually are. I would want to sit in the front window room if I went again.
google avatar

Ainsley E.

Yelp
Long wait, mistakes in our order, was pretty expensive, and the food didn't impress. The "famous" bloody Marys were nothing special. The biscuits were huge and fluffy but kind of bland. My eggplant dish was underwhelming and kind of soggy. The beignets were pretty good ‍. I did enjoy my mimosa and having brunch outdoors -- that was the highlight. We just weren't blown away!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Exceptional...had the beignets and the trout and eggs... huge biscuits...homemade jams and amazing house made ketchup! The hot chocolate was excellent.... I'd definitely go back again and again to try everything.

Yelp
Wow. This place lives up to the hype. Nothing I had here was a let down, even the strawberry rhubarb jam condiment on the table. If you've been at their Denver location like I did and was disappointed, give them a second chance. It shouldn't be different but the food is significantly better at the Boulder location. I tried the exact same dishes at both locations. -Gumbo: Flavorful, medium brown roux, and perfect sausage, seafood and rice proportion. -Shrimp & grits: I've eaten a lot of grits growing up in Alabama - 10/10. Creamy. Cooked through. Not too watery and not a gritty muck chunk either. Generous with shrimp and sausage. The grits weren't covered in oil and oversalted like the Denver location. -Eggs New Orleans: Perfect eggs, crisp eggplant, and fluffy biscuit...Mm! Also, I hate hollandaise sauce because it's usually too heavy. But theirs is so light with a slight citrus undertone. I wished I had room for dessert but I'll definitely be back for more. Service: Warm and informative. Space: Bathroom is very clean. Dining area had limited seating but it still felt open. It felt like sitting on a porch even though we were indoors.

Yelp
Beignets were tasty, and both entrees were good. Service was great and the restaurant takes place inside an old home which was cool. Would recommend trying if you're looking for breakfast in boulder area!
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
Awesome venue with indoor and outdoor seating. Sat outside on large picnic tables. Very friendly waitress. the food was served in large portions and all delicious. Amazing biscuits, omelette, grits, fruit plate and more. Coffee, mimosas, and Bloody Marys for all. Reasonable prices. Overall I highly recommend coming here for brunch! It can get crowded so get here early. Street parking available right out front.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
Great breakfast, the biscuits are huge; recommend the trout and poached eggs, also the creamed spinach/shrimp and poached eggs.
google avatar

Kann A.

Yelp
I don't have a lot of experience with creole food (Not a fan of most seafood) but I do know biscuits and gravy. We got the biscuits and gravy with grits and red beans-it was absolutely delicious! I seriously could have licked the plate. The gravy wasn't traditional, but I don't know if I can go back to "regular" gravy now. The red beans were delicious, the grits basic. My only complaint is they only have house hot sauce (No Cholula, etc.) and it's garlicky. I don't want that on my breakfast. The bathrooms leave a bit to be desired as well. We will be back.
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
I don't know why anyone would give this anything less than five stars. It is perfect. Absolutely every single morsel was amazingly delicious. Very good coffee too!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by here for brunch after hiking the flatirons. The cafe itself is pretty cute; it's reminiscent of some cafes/houses in NOLA. Service is also really quick, which I appreciated. We sat outside on their covered patio; I loved that you get a lot of sunlight in the room, but it can definitely feel a little cramped and you can hear everyone's conversations in there clearly, which was a little awkward. We ordered the beignets, the seafood gumbo, and their eggs benedict on trout. Having been to NOLA a few times, the food here was just okay. I found the beignets to be not as crispy, the gumbo a little too thick and gravy-like. Probably the best thing here was the biscuit that the food came with. Also, the bathroom is a little small, and not as nice as I thought it would be. I think this is an okay spot to stop at if you're craving something a little southern creole, but overall, I felt that it doesn't quite hit the mark.
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
It's usually a short wait because this place is so good! I always get the Cajun breakfast with a side of gravy, which means I have a bit of everything. The jams and the apple butter are exceptional. The beignets are great, but unless I'm with several people, I can't order them. Portions are big Service is always great. Fresh squeezed OJ is amazing and so is the chicory coffee.
google avatar

debbie r.

Yelp
Butter my biscuit, Baby! Butter and the best, freshest jams. See picture. Licking fingers covered in berry jam and orange marmalade that oozes off the hot biscuit is totally okay. Forget what Miss Manners says. She hasn't been to Lucille's Boulder. I love this place more every time I visit. The food is exceptional and consistent. It transports you to New Orleans. I waited 35 minutes, exactly as the kind host predicted. I planned for that and just sat upstairs and read my book. My table was on the enclosed porch and had the pleasure of Ella's hospitality and service. She's kind and efficient without making you feel rushed. I highly recommend the Cajun breakfast with the jalapeño and cheese grits. Insert chef's kiss. So dang good. The only disappointment was that I didn't have enough room to enjoy the crazy delicious beignets. Looks like I'll have to go back and start with them. See you there!

Yelp
A Creole restaurant in Denver initially seemed corny, but it is well-established and offers up quite the heart-warming brunch. The cafe décor was themed endearingly after a homey dining room. Many often rave about their beignets. I ordered just that and opted for 4 for $4.95. Side note: they do allow you to order less. The powdered sugar dusting was more of an avalanche, in true Denver fashion. Perhaps the kitchen was yearning for snow in the area. The beignets were pillowy, warm, and provided the ultimate satisfaction. I also ordered a Chai Tea alongside and I had to comment to the waitress just how wonderfully frothy this was. The appropriate amount of spices were added to a drink that provided such comfort on a chilly afternoon. The boy also ordered an Eggs Benedict. While the hollandaise sauce was silky and rich and egg cooked perfect, the other ingredients -- specifically the ham and potatoes -- were a little bland. Overall, a wonderful meal and not a bad place to brunch it up in the Boulder area.

Yelp
It's nostalgic location converted into a nice cozy restaurant. Make sure to get a table by the front parlor and watch the world go by while sipping your favorite beverage. Outstanding service even though we are all stressed with Covid and shortage of workers. Our server was excellent and stopped by often to check on us. Don't forget to try the Bloody Mary and all their goodies. Definitely a memorable experience!

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
I went with a friend to enjoy some beignets. our meals were massive and we had so many leftovers! As a professional pastry chef, I can be very picky about pastry items but I really enjoyed the beignets. It's so cute and very New Orleans feel!
google avatar

Sara W.

Yelp
I don't get enough creole food, so when I came here for brunch with my family, it was a fun experience! The food was great. They have some picnic tables outside the patio area and they let us have my dog outside at the table. I had no idea how un-dog friendly Boulder is as a city (no dogs in patios) and it was a hot day so I couldn't leave him in the car! Thanks so much for being accommodating for my family and dog.
google avatar

Maila L.

Yelp
Gumbo tasted like it came from a can, and the shrimp poboy just looked sad, but the flies seemed to like it. This place has gone downhill!
google avatar

Sasha T.

Yelp
I've had everything vegetarian on the menu and it's all incredible. The standouts are simple eggs, the grits (jalapeño--yum), and the phenomenal biscuit. The chicory coffee is also a staple from the beginning to the end of the meal :) Love Lucile's!
google avatar

Lena A.

Yelp
This is our fave breakfast in Boulder. You will wait here and it could be a short wait or a pretty long one. I did deduct one start because we have eaten a few times where they forgot someone's order or special requests. Overall this is always more of a hit than a miss and cute location off Pearl St
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Wow, sooo good! Party of five started with the beignets which were delicious! Our server recommended the andouille po boy which was amazing and the eggs benedict and eggs New Orleans were all fantastic favorites. We will be back!
google avatar

Felicia P.

Yelp
Service is great. I got seated and attended to right away. I got the spiced tea which was not my cup of tea and asked to change to lemonade. I ordered the gumbo, biscuit, and beignets. Everything was delicious.

Mo J.

Yelp
Best beignets and Mimosas! Nice ambiance and service. A nice bday treat! Eggs Benedict pretty good too.

Yelp
After working Downtown, and constantly passing this cute petite house, my husband and I finally decided to try it! First off, five stars for the overall review; service, food, and everything in between. Our server, Helena (at least that is what our receipt said) notified us that it was her first week; applaud. She was sweet as ever and for our first time; first impressions matter and we will be back! Food: 1. Buttermilk Biscuits: these big boys came alongside our entrees and holy cow were they delicious. These biscuits have a great bite, along with a fluffy and buttery interior. You can eat it alongside their jam, or get a side of sausage gravy. (We did BOTH!) Jams: - Orange Marmalade is very strong in orange and is bright and delicious. - Blueberry: actual blueberries and it was perfectly sweet. - Strawberry Rhubarb- OMG, best jam hands down, ever. Perfect tart, perfect sweet. Sausage Gravy: if you don't get the biscuits and gravy- get a side because it is worth the $4.50. It has great chunks of sausage and delicious creaminess. 2. Gumbo: Like our server said; don't let the Lunch menu scare you- they serve it ALL DAY. The gumbo- was delicious and super hearty. We only got a cup, and it was the perfect amount. The chicken and sausage shine, and it was perfectly seasoned. 3. Eggs Eisenhower: my husband got eggs over easy, with a side of grits. The grits lack flavor so we paired it with some sausage gravy and the side of potatoes! So good. 4. Creole Omelet: this was filled with delicious sausage and it was paired nicely with the hot sauce (on the table). So good and would get again. However the potatoes were over seasoned so definitely do not eat it by themselves; we paired it with the grits! Overall; this experience was amazing. Shout out to the team at Luciles :) We will be back soon with our friends and family! *We were too full to get benigets; so I guess that just means we will have to come back :) Also our lil pup got the necklace in the end, thanks to our server!

Yelp
Went here for brunch with my dad. First impression, the inside is so cute and I loved design of the house, looked straight out of New Orleans. I ordered a side of trout alongside my breakfast and was delightfully surprised, it ended up being the highlight of my meal, very delicious. Beignets were also incredible of course, and I highly recommend the Eggs New Orleans. Coming from the south, it felt very close to home and I'm glad there's a place that serves good Creole food in Boulder.
google avatar

Natalie W.

Yelp
Came here for the beignets and they didn't disappoint. They were fresh, warm and quickly arrived on the table. The biscuits came with homemade blueberry and strawberry rhubarb jam. Their house made spiced tea was packed with a strong cinnamon flavor so I added some milk and it was phenomenal. The indoor dining was a bit tight but still comfortable.
google avatar

Jean-Charles N.

Yelp
We went there on a Sunday morning for brunch. There was a 45 minutes wait. We took a walk on Pearl st close by. It was definitely worth it. A little piece of New Orleans right in downtown Boulder. The food was great
google avatar

Alex J.

Yelp
Service was great, biscuit and jam was good. Rest of the breakfast was just OK. The hollandaise/bearnaise was just a little too vinegary for my taste.
google avatar

Brandon F.

Yelp
Cozy breakfast spot off Pearl Street Came here before a tee time at flatirons golf course on a Saturday morning at 10am. No line at 10am quite yet, but the inside and outside were quite busy. The wait staff were attentive and we were seated quickly for a party of 6 The restaurant is a crowded, narrow old home so you are cozying up against other customers but it's all a part of the experience. My table ordered the Irish coffees, regular coffee and OJ. For food I ordered the beignets and the Eisenhower breakfast plate. The beignets come in 4 pieces per order. They were hot, but definitely not my favorite beignets. The dough was hollow inside, the bread tasted a bit bland instead of buttery and light, and the powdered sugar was also not that sweet. I did enjoy the Eisenhower meal which also came with a large biscuit on the side Definitely recommend stopping by on your visit to boulder
google avatar

Kimberly Y.

Yelp
Food was pretty good - small but cute for brunch. Staff was super friendly. Bloody Mary needed more horseradish!
google avatar

Simone R.

Yelp
We have the most wonderful breakfast here the other day... I am always looking for good soul food with authentic flavors. My husband and I were both really impressed. We ordered beignet's to start, a delicious Bloody Mary with shrimp, gumbo with their large biscuit (both of which were delicious), and the Louisiana breakfast. I honestly was so hungry and so excited by the smells of our food that we started eating before I could snap pictures. Our waitress Shana was amazing and we can't wait for our next visit. It's so refreshing to find a restaurant that has great service and outstanding food. There was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it!

Yelp
This place is just so dang cute. A little cute older house where they have made it into a restaurant. Beignets served warm with jam and marmalade. So good! PO boy shrimp sandwich. The cucumbers and sauce gave it an extra kick. Eggs Sardou- Creamed spinach, Gulf shrimp, poached eggs, and hollandaise. Cheese & jalapeño grits with potatoes. Delicious!
