Lucille's Roadhouse - A Route 66 Gem I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lucille's Roadhouse in Oklahoma, and it was a fantastic experience! I ordered the BBQ Mac and Cheese Sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is a standout feature, celebrating the iconic Route 66 culture with a retro vibe that's both nostalgic and welcoming. It's the perfect place to soak in some Americana while enjoying a great meal. Service was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated the cleanliness throughout, especially in the bathrooms. If you're traveling through or just looking for a unique dining experience, Lucille's Roadhouse is definitely worth a stop!

We were greeted and served by a friendly staff. Sadly, the food did not live up to our expectations. The chips were light and crispy, queso was creamy but lacked flavor, and the salsa was sweet and smoky. My son ordered the Nachos with Chicken. At first, he couldn't tell if there was any chicken because it was hidden underneath the melted cheese. The nachos were dark brown in spots, the chicken was dry and flavorless, and the cheese had no flavor at all. My wife's BLT was okay, but she couldn't get past the burnt toast. The onion rings were golden and crunchy but lacked any flavor whatsoever. I ordered the Caktus Jack burger and did not like it at all. The fried egg had black edges, and the shredded hash browns were overcooked because it was very crunchy, and the burger was very dry. The Hush Puppies were greasy and flavorless. This is a point of interest to take pictures of Route 66 roadside relics, but not a restaurant I would recommend to anyone.

The food was really good. The atmosphere was really good, kinda retro and the service was amazing. Our server was really helpful, attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend this place and come back again.

The food was great It's an old gas station. The exposed brick and the Route 66 theme was fabulous as it is on Historic Route 66! I had the classic Route 66 burger and the hubby had the pulled pork. The pickles were amazing and we took home 2 jars!

We had such a great experience at Lucille’s! We stopped to charge our car at the charging station behind the restaurant, and fortunately had an appetite for some fried chicken. The entire staff at the bar welcomed us in, and our server was very nice too. Hubby had the chicken fried steak with fried okra and side salad, and I had the chicken fried chicken with side salad and hush puppies. We both had the white jalapeño gravy which was light, not gloppy like many gravies, and so delicious!!! I could have eaten it as a soup! Both entrees came out piping hot, and the light breading on the chicken and steak was so crispy! Hush puppies were amazing, and the coffee was really good too. Wish we had room for dessert!

Really cute place!! I think we may have ordered the wrong dinner for our taste. Skip the Friday fish fry- fish was a miss but it looked like many were pleased with other menu items. We’d stop here again but order something different. Prices were great & service was very quick & friendly

Usually my experience here is amazing, great food and great staff. However recently especially today ruined all of that. I came in, after working a 12 hour shift outside in the heat, looking for cold drink ant hot food. I came in at 6:10 pm today. Sat down in the bar area and waited about 10 minutes before I even had a menu. Then told my waitress what I wanted. An old fashioned with crown royal green apple. This 1 drink took 25 minutes to get to me.... 15 minutes later she decides to ask me what I'd like to order... 35 minutes to ask me what I'd like?!?! I ordered 2 sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and 2 sides of Mac n cheese. The portions are un even and the amount of gravy I got to the tiny portion of mashed potatoes I got is absolutely ridiculous. Thanks to the manager sitting down and talking to patrons across from me completely ignoring my sub par service. I would love to continue coming here, but I'm unsure of spending my money to keep receiving worse service every time I come in. Thank you

Google
I’m a trucker, my first time here. Ordered the beef tips over rice with gravy & French fries to go for $20. Felt light when they handed me the bag so I opened it at the counter. Was almost empty. Looked like something someone finished on the restaurant. Smh. They kept asking if I wanted them to remake it. There’s nothing here to remake…

Yelp
This is a nice, large, clean diner in Weatherford. We'd been on the road all day, and wanted comfort food. Service was friendly. I had the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes, she had a chicken fried steak with tots, and we shared some fried okra. Both meals were hearty and tasty, and the mashed potatoes were really excellent. The okra was OK, not too great. Overall, a very satisfying meal. Glad we stopped in.

Yelp
We like to stop at local places whenever possible and skip the chain restaurants so this fit the bill. Menu had a wide variety of tastes to please anyone. We didn't have a lot of time since we were here for a tournament and only had an hour or so between games. Service was fine. A little on the slow side so like I said, we had to rush it along a bit. We ordered the strawberry and the taco salads, quesadillas that they happily adjusted to make vegetarian for us, and 2 chicken dishes. Generous portions. Some were leftover but that's fine. No one left hungry. The decor was cute, and even had some history of the restaurant and the namesake on the wall. It wasn't noisy or crowded during our visit. Couple flies were buzzing around which was icky but that happens in the warm weather sometimes. Overall not spectacular but for a diner in the middle of nowhere, you could do a lot worse.

Yelp
Food cold, over priced and bad service!!! 35 minutes to get a chicken fried steak. Had no flavor and super tough their knives couldn't even cut it into pieces. $3.69 for a dr.pepper. Great lookin restaurant though.

Kaylee W.

Yelp
Received a steak that tasted and smelled funny. Couldn't even finish it and the manager didn't even come out to speak to us nor tried to make it right.

Yelp
On a Route 66 road trip, we stayed in Weatherford, OK for the night & the reviews raved that this was the place to go for the evening. I don't have many pics bc we all jumped in & devoured our meals, it was excellent! My husband & I both had the chicken fried steak - him with jalapeño gravy and me with plain gravy. It was cooked to perfection, not greasy and not too much breading. I had the okra & mashed potatoes, both were delicious. He had Mac n chz and mashed potatoes, that Mac n chz was excellent, so cheesy and creamy! My son had the Router 66 6oz hamburger with fries, he said it was one of the best burgers he's had. He's 11 & ate every bite, all his fries & ate as much as he could of the spicy pickle spear that comes with it. My daughter, 7, knocked out the kid's mini Corndogs with fries, green beans & Mac n chz. She also said the Mac was her fave! She wasn't a fan of the green beans but ate all her mini corndogs! In the pics is my hubby's beer, he really enjoyed it. Overall it was an excellent dining experience! The decor was also epic! Old Route 66 signs from Texas to Kansas, a small tourist shop in the front of the diner, vintage signs, antique gas pumps out front. Oh, & our waitress was nice, she seemed very busy, but made a point to keep stopping by to check on us. It was like a meal & Route 66 tourist stop all in one. We'd stop here again, that was unanimous!

Yelp
Great place to hangout with friends!! Yummy appetizers and cool atmosphere that shows off Route 66!!

Yelp
Let me just start by saying that if nothing else this place is a cool place to stop and see! BUT, not only is it a cool pit stop but it's a great place to eat! First off, you have two restaurant choices the steakhouse/roadhouse side and the classic diner side. On our motorcycle stop we opted for the casual diner side and boy we were not disappointed! It's a spacious fun environment with a giant map on the wall showing Route 66 spanning the US highlighting prominent landmarks (including lucille's) I had the patty melt with hush puppies and to my surprise the hush puppies were more of hush fries but were just as good in that form as there typical make. The most impressive moment was definitely the fact our waitress could keep up with me and my dad chugging our drinks as we always do (see the pictures). This is a classic feel that takes you back to the pre interstate days where families followed the winding way of Route 66 as it crosses the country. If you find yourself in weatherford, or maybe you're looking for some fun sight seeing spots with history, either way Lucille's is a great answer to your search.

Yelp
We're in the area and found this place on Yelp, the reviews were good so we stopped in. I'm glad we did. When you walk in there's two different places to sit. One to your right is a '50's diner and to your left is more of a modern restaurant. We chose the more modern side, the booths were very roomy and the place is clean. The staff is very polite and cheery, good sign. We ordered the fried corn as an appetizer, it's a sweet corn that's been battered fried. I got the chicken fried chicken, 7 oz serving- more than enough to fill you up! I chose mashed potatoes and steamed veggies, delicious! My husband got the chicken bites, buffalo style, with okra, mashed potatoes and gravy. We left full and happy! There's a gift shop in the front, this if a Route 66 attraction. I would definitely recommend this place. I've got a sensitive stomach so I've got to be extra careful on road trips, no problems at all!! Also: take your smart phone in, their menu is accessed via QR reader.

Yelp
I haven't been to Lucille's in 8 years.. came in today and nothing has changed. Great service, amazing food and fun atmosphere! Will definitely be coming back at least once a month for a little out of town bite.

Yelp
Lilly was a great waitress. The food was so so. We had SW burgers. It was ok. The salad was the best part. They have a decent house dressing (similar to tomato delight as I know it). Overall decent but on expensive side for the what it is. We did take neat pics with the old gas pumps out front. The. Took a neat modern version with the Tesla charger in the back.

Yelp
I had to wait 1 hr for nachos with no meat they didn't tell me I had to add meat the only good thing was. my sprite

Yelp
Brought a group of teen boys for a school trip. The food and service were amazing! Everyone was happy and plenty of options to satisfy many different tastes.

Colleene B.

Yelp
What a beautiful tribute to Lucille. The dinner has a modern half and a nostalgic half. We chose the nostalgic side and the food was excellent. I enjoyed salad and stew, the kids had corn dogs and tots, and my hubby had steak. It was all delicious. Service was friendly and attentive.

J B.

Yelp
We ate there today in Clinton great food, service and atmosphere I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger with onion rings and it was more than I could eat!

Glenna C.

Yelp
Service was great -- our waitress Ellie--was very nice and smiled all the time. We asked for description of how big chicken strips were and she undersized them so we were quite surprised that they were quite a bit bigger than expected. Hush puppies, onions rings, steamed veggies, & ultimate BLT (never before had so many strips of bacon on one sandwich) were the rest of our awesome lunch. It was really nice to get souvenir cups to go also. They have a great little store to buy gifts etc as you enter/exit. Great value for an awesome meal.

Yelp
We originally stopped just to get our Oklahoma Route 66 passport books stamped. Then we walked inside and the delicious aroma hit us and we decided we should get lunch to go. For the menu you scan the QR code and we could look on our phone. Everything sounded good, we decided on Patty Melts and a cheeseburger with onion rings. We were maybe there 15 min and the food was done and we were on the road again. We ate half and we were already full. Prices are great for what you get. Would definitely stop again on our next trip.

Yelp
We had supper here and liked it so much skipped free breakfast at our hotel and had breakfast here also Ralph and Pat

Yelp
We got to the restaurant around 830am and it was the place with a group of older men sit eating and talking so we knew the food had to be good. The waitress was not overly friendly but attentive. There were no social distancing measures in place. No masks or gloves were worn by anyone but it was a "seat yourself" so we picked a place away from the other tables. Coffee was delicious and the take home cups were a treat (we are suckers for those plastic cups). Food was good. I had the Lucille's breakfast and my hubby had the breakfast scrambler. All the food was delicious and priced very reasonably.

Christine M.

Yelp
Not sure if this place is paying people to leave good reviews but trust me don't believe them. I'm sure the food is great if you get it when it's warm but that wasn't our experience. Cold food and a waitress who didn't check on us once in the hour it took to get our cold food. If you are looking for clean restrooms might as well forget about this place. It hasn't been cleaned in a long while.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from Lucilles tonight. Here's the down low: I had the Paradise salad. A whole bunch of nummy with chicken, lettuce, pears and a superb dressing. My SSo had a chicken Caesar. Another great salad except she said it was too salty. We shared the southwestern egg rolls. They come with a kicked up mango dressing that hits the spot!

Yelp
Last night my wife and I went to Lucille's for the second time in a month. They are 5 stars two times in a row! Last month we had the fried pickles and shared a stir fry. Excellent. Last night we got some kind of deep fried corn ball thingies and shared the beef tips on rice. Delicious! A craft beer with both meals. I am embarrassed to say that I forgot our server's name from our first visit (maybe Jessica?). She was great, as was Hannah last night. In fact everyone working there made us feel welcome. If we lived anywhere near Weatherford we would go there weekly. We'll just have to look forward to our next travel through Weatherford.
google avatar

Susie R.

Yelp
Oh yum! Lucilles was mentioned in Jerry McClanahan's book as a historic stop for decades on Route 66, so we wanted to give it a try. Oh yeah! I ordered the Ultimate BLT on sourdough with an egg, tater tots as a side. Not holding back and this is worth all these calories! RRR had the Ultimate Cheeseburger with steamed broccoli on the side and said it was wonderful. He likes fresh lemon to squeeze on his broccoli. Our friendly waitress brought him 5 fat lemon slices, perfect! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Lucille's Roadhouse, 7/22 - Nice place, Route 66 venue, lots on the menu. Something for everyone. I had the salmon 8oz with corn. Two sides available but corn was all I wanted. Salmon was very good. Wifee had hamburger steak with gravy and rice pilaf but, the negative here, rice wasn't done and was hard. She just had the waitress bring corn which was good. Unique place with nice atmosphere and fair pricing. We will be back.

MissMelissa S.

Yelp
Service is decent. Food is hit or miss sometimes. Breakfast is most always good. Ambiance is ok, decor is cool to look at.
google avatar

Zoe W.

Yelp
This place was mediocre at best. Seemed like a tourist trap, the place was clean and the atmosphere was good. Our server was great despite her being new. The menu is ginormous, from past experiences isn't a good sign. The problem was the food and drinks. We ordered a Dos Equis and a coke, both were flat and watered down. The baby back ribs were tough and chewy. My baked potato only had sour cream, there was no cheese, butter, chives or bacon. We also ordered a side chicken which was just like the ribs, tough and chewy. The best thing we had was the side caesar salad. Overall for the money and time i wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Jack C.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a quick lunch and nabbed the chicken taco salad and it was pretty legit! Taco shell was good, chicken wasn't dry and all the add ons for this lunch were just right. Really enjoyed this and hope to come back for some Breakfast. Waitress was awesome too!

Yelp
"Lucille's Roadhouse" has lot going for it. It's OPEN is the big plus. Also, is located on Route 66, it's clean, it's new, the menu selections are enormous, the have a gift shop, they have plenty of parking and staff does know how to smile. On the other side, the menu is too vast and nothing is a clear reason to say "I gotta recommend this!". My salmon was nothing like the menu picture - smaller, less rice and not as pretty. It was a bit dry too - just saying for constructive vs just complaining. The BIG business feel is better than BIG franchise/corporate feel, but what is lost is the "local" feel you get when you find "where the locals hang" feel. I met two native locals and they shared such a local place. I am glad I stopped here and supported a local business. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS! "Run-A-Way Bill" was here! 01.24.21

Yelp
Good food. Lots of choices . Cool diner. Must see 2 sections: diner style and steakhouse style (but same food)

Yelp
Good food and service in a fun atmosphere. Try the beef tips with brown gravy chicken fried steak is also excellent

Yelp
Lucille's Roadhouse is a diner patterned off an old historic diner by the same name. There are several sections to the Roadhouse - one is designed to look like an old-school classic Route 66 diner, one is a Route 66 themed restaurant and the 3rd is the "grill" or bar area. The diner section is not open in the evening but the roadhouse section is open all day. The same menu is used for both. We were here for dinner and the service was excellent. We were greeted promptly and our waitress was at our table almost immediately to get our drink orders. The menu is a classic diner menu - heavy on burgers and sandwiches but also with a good selection of steaks, pork and fish. I ordered the patty melt - a diner favorite - with a side of cauliflower and broccoli. The patty melt was excellent and the veggies were cooked perfectly - not overcooked like in many restaurants. My wife ordered the steak quesadilla which she reports was excellent. Service was prompt and professional and our waitress was very pleasant. She checked in on us several times without being intrusive. Good food, good service and very reasonably priced. NOW - for the history buffs out there or for fans of old Route 66 stuff - here's directions to the original Lucille's location on Route 66 near Hydro, OK. When you leave Lucille's, turn right out of the parking lot onto Airport Road and then make an almost immediate left onto Route 66. Route 66 is the road just beyond the Chevy dealership and just before the I-40 exit ramp. Follow Route 66 for about 5-6 miles back along I-40 (the two roads, old Route 66 and new I-40, run side-by-side at this point). Approximately 5-6 miles up Route 66, you'll find the original Lucille's gas station that the new Lucille's Roadhouse is patterned after. The original Lucille's is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and you get to drive on some of the old, original part of Route 66.

Yelp
For starters, literally, we had the fried green beans and Shine Rock beer and a Yeti. Very good for both. The side salad was loaded with dried cranberry, and other items not typical of a side salad. Our steaks were fantastic, we had a ribeye and sirloin. I recommend the loaded mash potatoes. We're only in town for 36 hours and going back for dinner again tonight.

Yelp
In a hurry so sat at the bar- our service was friendly and attentive - we needed a rather bland meal so ordered a grilled chicken breast witH a side of a baked potato and baked sweet potato-- Just what we neeDed and thankful for that- we could see they had an extensive menu its just too bad we could explore it more-

Yelp
It's cute, it's different and the burgers are ok. Our server was great and the place was clean. We're glad we went and if in the area again we may give it another shot.

Yelp
Stopped here on a trip from Norman, Ok, to Amarillo this past April. Service was quick, and food was great! This was a great and very unique restaurant! Be sure to get your Passport port stamped!
google avatar

Yelp
It's what you'd expect for a diner. Food was decent but nothing that'll leave you wanting to come back for more. More of a nostalgic place than anything else. Service was great.

Rory N.

Yelp
Worst service I've had in a long time. Food was underwhelming. Very slow. Surrounded by dirty tables the entire time I was here.

Yelp
Great small town comfort food restaurant. Diverse menu, friendly service & excellent tasting food. Worth giving a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
A cute place to eat at and the service was excellent with our server Erica! We ate a burger, salad and French fries which were so good! Deserts looked delicious but could not eat one as we were full. Blackberry iced tea was super good!

Yelp
We were in Weatherford for the evening as we were travelling across the United States, and needed a place to eat. We like to go to places that are not national chains, and this time around Lucille's fit the bill. They specialize in roadside diner type food, and you can get everything from a steak to a patty melt without any issues. The place is laid out in multiple rooms, which helps break up the appearance of having a large barn of a building to serve food in, as well as cuts down on the noise made by lots of people. The food here was good, but some things need to be said about the wait staff. Our waitress was very curt in her manner, didn't really have any interest in what was going on, and really just had an attitude of wanting her shift to be over so that she could go home. Long before we were done with our food our bill was presented (I guess the possibility of making a dessert sale never crossed her mind), and vacuuming of the area we were in also started up. We checked the clock to be sure that we hadn't walked in five minutes before closing or something like that, but no... we weren't even close to that. I cannot say that this is an experience that everyone will receive. I actually doubt it is the experience most people will receive. But it is what we got. It can happen. I am not going to give a one or two star review for a place that does serve good food (and our food was good!) just because a waitress is having a lousy night. I do see that there are multiple reports of the service having issues here, so perhaps this can be a wake-up call for management to do something about it. Would I go back? Yes... I mean, for one thing there really isn't a whole lot in the Weatherford area, so your choices are limited in the first place. However, even if this place were in a more populated area where there are lots of other choices, I would still go back and try again. It might have been a bad night, hard to say. The food is good, even if the experience left something to be desired.

Kristin L.

Yelp
Food is ok, service is always good. Vegetarian options but I do feel the entire menu is a bit overpriced for what you get.

Betty W.

Yelp
Tasty food, clean venue, and great waitstaff! Definitely recommend stopping by! The menu has lots of options.

Yelp
Great food, great service, awesome atmosphere don't miss this jewel. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and the atmosphere was awesome

Yelp
Good local diner food with a decent selection of food. I got the pork stir fry and was satisfied with my selection.

Yelp
Lucille's Roadhouse was perfect for us! On a cross country move we needed a spot to take a quick break from the road and eat a more substantial meal. The food was phenomenal (Southwest salad, cheeseburger and fries) and the service was excellent! Our food was delivered SO quickly and our waitress was wonderful! This is a great stop - nourishing to the belly and the soul.
