Top late-night supper spots in Singapore - SilverKris

"A 24-hour, all-day eatery offering Indian, Thai and Western dishes that works well for groups with varied cravings; a typical order is sweet-and-sour chicken with sambal fried rice, and the kitchen will increase the spice level on request for heat seekers." - SilverKris

Google
My wife and I were looking for some Chinese food for dinner. We have been ordering from this restaurant for over ten years. We had not had the chance to order since the pandemic, so we decided this would be a good time. We called from the car and ordered General Tso’s chicken, extra spicey with four spring rolls. This dish had been our usual order, so we thought we would see if it had changed. Before, we always saw what we assumed to be the mother, the dad cooking, and her son taking orders. We watched him grow up. It will not surprise me if he is off to college. `We had to go to the Food Lion next door, so we did that before heading into the restaurant. From the outside, it looked like the sign was maybe broken. You could not read the Lucky part. This might be something the landlord needs to fix. They used to have a very small seating area inside. We had always assumed that most of their business was takeout. I would imagine the pandemic made it, so they just went 100 percent takeout orders.. I do not fault them for that choice. Our order was ready when we arrived. One this I have always appreciated about this location was its sanitation score. I have never seen anything lower than a 99, and usually, it’s a 100. It was the same this visit. Our food was what we remembers from the last time. The chicken was cooked well. The sauce was spiced to our liking. We spent $15 odd dollars and would do so again. We would, and do recommend this to other peopl.

I recommend the family meals. GREAT VALUE! Best crab ragoons in all the land . Customer service is top tier. 10 out of 10 🏆

Google
Definitely recommend checking this restaurant out. I’d say the prices are slightly higher than Chinese restaurants in Charlotte, but the food quality and taste is way better. Crab Rangoons are the best I’ve ever had. Pictured is the lunch beef & broccoli (few bites already taken there is way more beef than what it looks like).

The best Chinese place in town fresh delicious food at a amazing price

Google
I got here by accident … thought I was going to the other restaurant by Food Lion on new Hope. This is definitely our new go … it was excellent.

Google
Tasty food and friendly service. Mainly takeout spot.

Google
Best Chinese food I've had in the continental US, this spot is a family favorite. Great steamed dumplings, hot & sour soup, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, fried rice, gen. Tso's chicken, garlic shrimp or chicken, sweet & sour chicken... we've tried a lot of their dishes it's always hard to decide.

Birdie R.

Google
Best crab Rangoon in these parts. Excellent quick service.

Yelp
I am new to the Gastonia area been here a few months and I have been looking for a reputable, Chinese fast food restaurant. Per usual I always go to yelp to read the reviews and the ones that were listed for this restaurant called Lucky Café. We're all very good. The star is rating was great so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. I don't live close to this restaurant, but I will come back across town to patronize them again. The customer service was great. The ambience inside of the restaurant was clean and their sanitation score was 100. Very nice young man working the register. I can only assume this is a family run restaurant.

Yelp
The food and service are always great. Everything on the menu is delicious! Our favorites are roast pork lo Mein, general tso chicken, chicken on a stick, all of their soups are our favorites and the crab rangoons.
google avatar

Cyndi S.

Yelp
One of the better strip mall Chinese food restaurants in the area. Always consistently good, the meat is cooked well in all the dishes we have tried.
google avatar

Yelp
Great takeout Chinese! Consistently good no matter what we order and usually ready within 20 minutes.

Robin R.

Yelp
Very fresh, large portions, great price and they take pride in their restaurant. Always consistent! My kitchen has been under construction for over a month and we have literally eaten here everday, except Tuesday when they are closed. The food is that clean and delicious. We have always eaten at Lucky Chinese. No one around can compare!

Gary K.

Yelp
This is our go to for Chinese. Like that it isn't as highly seasoned as other places, lets you season to taste especially with salt. Good flavor in items we have ordered.

Martha D.

Yelp
I absolutely love their food! I could eat it every week. Their egg drop soup is to die for! Service is quick and easy too. I would certainly recommend this cafe to anyone who wants a good meal.

Yelp
7/18 Update: They have a fantastic process to protect their staff during COVID! They have installed a wall between the counter and dinning area. Yum! This was my first time here and I picked it mostly based on the health score, proximity, and the fact it was open on Christmas. The place was slammed but they were cranking out food quickly. I ordered a general tso's combo (friend rice and an egg roll), orange chicken with white rice, and crab rangoon. I ended up wIth most of my order.... the general tso ended up and maybe a honey chicken or something. The honey chicken was good but it was super similar to the orange chicken I already ordered so that was a bit of a bummer. The orange chicken was awesome and had just a hint of heat. I LOVED the fried rice, loved. The egg roll was kinda lame to be honest. The crab rangoons were pretty good but got steamed up in the container on the way home so the wonton was a bit wet. Overall a win for cheap Chinese takeout. I only give a 4 because I ended up with the wrong dish (granted they were busy but I really wanted to try tow different tasting dis

Yelp
I think it's pretty good. I don't do Chinese a lot, but all I've gotten has been delicious. It's also conveniently located within ample parking.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was good I just felt like it was pretty over priced for what we got. Not sure if we will be back.

Yelp
I was really craving Chinese food and found this place on yelp. It's not much of a dine in place since we were the only ones eating there on a Friday night. I had the Mongolian beef with fried rice and hubby had the dragon and Phoenix. The Mongolian beef was good, not spicy though. Would have like it actually spicy! Dragon and Phoenix which is general Tso's chicken and Szechuan shrimp. I thought the chicken was extra sweet but the shrimp was good. The helpings are huge especially for how much you pay! Definitely coming again!!

Yelp
Just bought lunch at Lucky Cafe. This was my first time ordering from here. I don't know what the four and five star reviews were basing their reviews on. The food was only okay. Quite bland actually! I ordered Chicken Kung Pao and Chicken and broccoli. The Kung Pao had no spice kick at all. Bland! I had to add my own heat at home! The Chicken and broccoli was bland as well, but at least the broccoli was still fairly crisp, as were the veggies in the Kung Pao. Good veggies got them the third star, otherwise I'd give them two stars. I'll only stop here again if I'm desperate for mediocre Chinese food.

Yelp
One of the best Asian restaurants that we've tried in the area. It's a bit of a drive out for us so we'd have to be okay with the travel distance or in the area on other business to return. It's a great choice though in terms of quality and quantity so we're likely to return.

Yelp
My wife and I had all but given up looking for decent Chinese food. We mostly just make our own at home now. But we were craving it recently and decided to give this a shot. It's a small place in a strip mall. The ambience isn't even casual dining--most fast-food-ish. We ordered the orange chicken and beef lo-mein. The food was HOT off the wok and delicious. Was surprised to find broccoli with the orange chicken--had never seen that before. The broccoli was cooked perfectly al dente not total mush like you see at other places. While we were dining in, we saw a steady stream of take out customers which makes up most of their business I'd guess. Honestly I can't say enough good about this place. Best we've had in a very, very long time. We will be back. Thank you, Lucky Cafe, for doing Chinese food right.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
I feel lucky in finding Lucky Cafe. The food was plentiful and delicious. The 30 cents I paid for extra broccoli was the BEST money I've spent. So much delectable broccoli. Heaven! The chicken on a stick was piping hot. And, for less than 15 bucks I had a lovely dinner with plenty for the next day.

James J.

Yelp
Some of the best Chinese food I've had. Great egg rolls, crab Rangoon, steamed dumplings, soup, garlic shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, general two's chicken, cashew chicken, mushroom chicken, and fried rice. Only thing that could be better (and not worth a star) is eggs in the fried rice. The only egg rolls I've ever had that were better were rolled fresh right in front of me. This place stays BUSY thanks to their awesome food.
google avatar

Sarah W. F.

Yelp
Tried Lucky Cafe for the first time and I thought it was pretty good! Flavoring slightly different than other Chinese cuisine I've had but in a good way. Seemed very light and I appreciated the portions. The shrimp were good sized and juicy, not tiny little shrimp like you get at other restaurants. Would try again!
google avatar

Chad F.

Yelp
This is our second go to fast food Chinese. I won't post our first place here as I do not feel it's fair but Lucky is great. They are definitely above grade and are quick with the order. You cannot go wrong here for sure!
google avatar

Marq David W.

Yelp
Really great quality food. I didn't call ahead to order but the food I ordered was ready in less than 20 minutes. The sanitation rating is one of the highest I've ever seen. The clerk was really nice and friendly and helped me decide on some items I was unfamiliar with. The crab Rangoon's...oooo...make you wanna slap yo momma. Oh yea and the portions are pretty good too. All in all, I got a family platter that fed 3 people til we were full and satisfied for about $31.00. Side Note: People who complain about vegetable really should get a life this place is bomb.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Food - 4 Service - 5 Value - 5 I came here after working a 12.5 hour shift based on the Yelp reviews and came away overall happy. I ordered the fried dumplings and the lunch portion of chicken lo mein. I liked the dumplings, but felt the photo they have displayed was misleading -- the photo seems to suggest thicker skinned larger dumplings. The chicken lo mein was also quite tasty, but I wish it would have had just a little more vegetable in it. If I find myself in Gastonia again, I'd probably come back.

Yelp
Food always good here. Although we try the same thing each time. Biggie rolls and fries rice with broccoli.

Neil O.

Yelp
Wow! This is now my new Chinese Food hangout!! Usually head to JIA or Golden Palace but I think Golden Palace has permanently closed. I usually don't like the smaller shopping center Chinese food as although it's very reasonably priced, the quality suffers. However I decided to try it and it was awesome. The Combo has lots of food and the quality was excellent. Even the fried rice was excellent. I also ordered hot n sour soup and again it was wonderful. I will definitely order from here again soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Very typical! Not terrible but not delicious- smelly but edible. Not very friendly people either.

Jayme C.

Yelp
Yummy! My family loves Lucky Café. Great food & friendly service. We don't dine in but it's always clean well maintained.
google avatar

Bonnie H.

Yelp
I've been eating Mongolian chicken and beef all my adult life and it's never had anything but meat and onions. This had green peppers and other vegetables in it and it was so nasty and just a big let down after the reviews I read. The egg drop soup was like dish water. We ordered an extra noodle dish and it was so greasy and really substandard! I waited a week before I posted because I rarely post bad reviews because I understand that we all have an off day, but it was so very bad especially for the price. I'll stick with authentic Golden Palace!
google avatar

Yelp
Great Chinese takeout. Low prices, large portions, fast and excellent quality! Everything is good. Whatever you order, be sure to get some Crab Rangoon.

Yelp
Love this place. Best Chinese in Gastonia. I make the trip from Bessemer City because it's so great! My personal favorites are the House Lo Mein and Sesame Chicken. Also, their steamed dumplings are made with thin dough which I prefer to thick dough. Not too spicy either. Late hours are a plus, definitely give them your patronage- I know they've got mine!

Yelp
Lucky Cafe is one of the cleanest fast-casual restaurants I've ever been in. It's a small storefront in the Food Lion Plaza. We typically go to Jia, but I wanted to expand our horizons a little bit-YELP to the rescue! Their menu is fairly large which is really nice. They have small or large portions plus combination options. From the looks of our containers, we got the same amount of food (I got the small, husband got the combination-only difference was his came with fried rice and an eggroll.) I ordered the chicken with snow peas-it was delicious. In addition to snow peas it had carrots and something else water chesnut-ish. We got an order of Lo Mein to split, it also came with snow peas, carrots and broccoli. No onion anywhere which made me really sad! The eggrolls were great and their homemade duck and hot mustard sauce were worth the upcharge of $.30. The staff was not terribly friendly and there were no onions or bell pepper so I give them 4 stars and my husband who likes Chinese food but never gravitates toward it on his own said he'd like to go back this weekend.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The food is excellent, great service. Always fresh and fast, prices are great too. The restaurant and cooking area is immaculately clean. Sanitation grade off 99 or higher consistently.
google avatar

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised. I found this gem from Yelp. The reviews were accurate. This is the best Chinese place in Gastonia. It is a carry out spot. The sanitary score was a 100, you could tell by the condiments and the bagging of our food that is what a clean place. The prices are great. We opted for the family meal which was $15 for enough to feed 3-4 people. I feed one adult and two children. The next size meal with $8 more and that would easily feed four adults. Sesame chicken was just the way I liked it. Chopped in small enough pieces to eat and the sauce tastes great. The egg rolls were the best I've ever had.

Yelp
This was the best Chinese food I've had in a long time! Everything was fresh and hot! So glad I found this jewel so close to my home!

Jacob M.

Yelp
I used to live near there but moved an hour away, and anytime I'm back in the area this is my first stop. There General Tso chicken is incredible. I've been going there for well over a decade and I have been unable to find anything as good.

Yelp
This place has the best crab Rangoon's! Not much to look at but the food is AMAZING! The quality of food is amazing and the flavor is even better! Best Chinese in Gaston county! Keep up the good work

Rajah F.

Yelp
Great Chinese restaurant. They are super clean and the health food score is always high. This is the only Chinese restaurant that I eat at. They have great prices, & excellent food that will keep you coming back when you are craving Chinese food.

Yelp
Simple inside but the food is anything but! Super fresh, super tasty. Very generous portions! What a hidden gem in sourthern Gastonia. We WILL be back!

Marcia B.

Yelp
I've always been a one dish kind of person when it comes to Chinese...well that's all changed. I have tried several dishes and they are all wonderful. They have homemade duck sauce that I love with my egg rolls. The fried items are crisp and if you have leftovers they heat up well. Call ahead, the line gets long. I go there about once a week.
google avatar

Joey M.

Yelp
Hands down this is the best place for Chinese food around! It's in a strip mall, right next to the Food Lion so you'd probably think it's just average but it's not. Combo plates are around $6-7 and come with a main course, vegetable, rice, egg roll, and a drink. So the value is pretty awesome, I've never been able to finish a meal I was so stuffed. The staff is always friendly and the service is very quick. My family and I usually eat in, the server will bring your food out to your table and the longest we've waited has been about 10mins max and that's for 3 full orders. So check this place out, would hate to see it fall because it really is the best around here.

Isa G.

Yelp
We loved the food.... very clean and exceptionally tasty!!! We were on our way home searched for Chinese restaurants with good reviews and ratings! Pleasantly surprised
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
My favorite place for Chinese in gastonia. The food is always great and tastes the same each time.
google avatar

Bogey W.

Yelp
There is nothing original about the food that is worth going for, and you can receive better customer service elsewhere. The woman running the desk was as friendly as a snake. Don't get in this business of pleasing customers when you are nasty and sour. Plenty of other options in the area. Never returning and regret giving my money to them.
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
The food was fresh! I ordered beef and broccoli with plain fried rice. It was hot and seemed like they cooked it to order. I also ordered one chicken wing. They actually give you a whole chicken wing like they do in NY. It was also fresh and delicious. I was surprised that the food was so good.

Christina C.

Yelp
I travel weekly and have to eat out a lot. Fast Chinese food is a staple of my diet and this establishment was one of my favorites. Very pleasant and helpful staff, fast service and the food was great. I especially enjoyed the crab rangoon!
google avatar

Carly S.

Yelp
Just moves to Gastonia and thought we'd give it a try. Ordered take out, Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, hot and sour soup and egg drop soup. I was running a bit late to pick it up and as I was pulling in I got a call letting me know our order was ready. Wow! Everyone in the family liked everything! Another Wow! The beef was tender and chicken was yummy. No yucky chicken parts you have to put to the side thinking, yuck that doesn't look right. Both soups were awesome and their fried noodles rock!My only small complaint was the sesame chicken was a little bland but still yummy but I'll probably opt to try the General Tso's next time. Also thank you for keeping your restaurant clean! I'm one who checks out inspection reports before going and theirs were all great!! Will be back!
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
First off- this place is CLEAN! Always has a sanitation grade of 99-100. Restaurant is immaculate, organized, and food is fresh. Chicken is good quality and always white pieces, never dark mystery pieces. I like a spicier lo mein than they serve, but that's just my personal preference. We have tried a LOT of their meals and everything has been great. We can feed our family of 4 for under $20. They are also fast- usually have our order ready in under 10-15 minutes. We love this place!
google avatar

Wilbert G.

Yelp
Great food dumpling crab Rangoon very fresh and it's not over cooked will be back for more

Yelp
Classic Chinese restaurant with very good food and service. Also the price is right! Quick and convenient.

Yelp
Best Chinese food eat in or take out since moving here last year! Very nice portions and excellent quality.

Yelp
My husband eat in & carry-out from often. The best food for the buck. I suggest you give it a try.

Yelp
I had a taste for Chinese food so I read the reviews and decided to call for a to go order. Haven't gotten my food yet but call in service is poor. Person that answered the phone just said "hello." I had to ask if this was the Lucky Café? When I gave my order he asked "sides?" Since I couldn't read the menu online because it was so small I asked what sides they had. He sounded upset that he had to tell me the sides. After I gave my order, he said it would be ready to pick up in 10 minutes and hung up. I realized he hadn't asked my name or gotten my phone number. I'm on my way to pick up my food now. I'll let you know if food is as poor as phone ordering service.
