"The Lucky Goat Cafe, Fairmount Art Museum by Radlands. The Goat is tucked away in the far corner of Fairmount and pours some of the finer cups of fuel in the neighborhood. Caffeine up, cop a pastry and read a book. All black, all day, all pulled double ristoretto."

Nice location with good service and homey atmosphere. Coffee and tea offerings are good. Lack of food options/pastries. Been there twice around 10 am and only 3 options left in pastry case - meaning only three pastries. Need to up their food game. Love having them back in the neighborhood but…

Google
Very cute cafe and the coffee has a great flavor. I got a hot oat milk latte and it was soothing. They had Radiohead playing and the cute mug they gave me was bright red with a heart design in the milk. I will definitely be coming back.

Was so excited to see they were reopened this weekend! Went in and had an oat milk cap and my spouse had a whole milk cortado and they were both probably the best we've had in the neighborhood. Staff was nice and it is a lovely little cafe for chatting. I think they had extra seating back in another room too.

Stopped in while waiting for a bus. Great coffee, friendly staff, pleasant decor.

I feel very fortunate that this is the closest coffee shop to my house. I love the vibes of this place and, although they are closed for Covid, they have some nice outdoor seating and are still serving the same delicious coffee. I typically just get a black coffee (which is really good - better than Brown St nearby) but they also have a large menu of hot and cold coffee drinks. They also have a small case of various baked good, including amazing tarts and some other items. This is a great place to stop for breakfast or a quick afternoon meetup. Definitely check this place out if you have not yet. I assume they will get more busy when the new retail/residential building opens across the street. I just hope they can open up their indoor seating soon.

Google
Cute little spot with good outdoor seating. All the standard coffee drinks and a few specialty creations. I was disappointed because I thought they had snacks/pastries based on other reviews but there was only one bagel.

Google
Changing my relationship status to “In a relationship with” this Lucky Goat latte. The flavor of the chocolate and hazelnut (I think) is knee buckling perfection. I’m afraid to try the pastry. I may never leave this cute, bright, very chill, and wonderfully staffed place.

Clean. Casual atmosphere. The pastries are good. My fave so far is the almond croissant. The Apple Chai Latte is pretty good, strong and spicy.

Yelp
Very small cafe with indoor seating and WiFi. They have a small variety of coffee drink options, and some baked goods. Perfect for a meeting, or to get some work done with minimal distraction. My only suggestion would be to get an airfryer or something to heat up the pastries--My croissant would've been 10 times better. But overall good experience, just not sure this place excites me enough to come back... Gotta spunk up the place with some new drink recipes and warm snacks.

Yelp
Ordered the Autumn Sweater, loved it. Customer service was A1 and the vibe and ambience is very comfortable. I would come here often if I lived in the area. The area is small and a little cramp-ish but i wouldn't let that stop you from coming here.

Yelp
Save yourself the trouble and go up the street to Brown Street Coffee or The Monkey and The Elephant. This place is a mess for food - so disorganized and rude. If you order cold brew expect there to be more ice than coffee. I ordered 2 bagels and thought I watched the server give them to the wrong person, so I jumped up to ask what was in the bag since I think they were my order. When I asked, the server snapped back at me and said "I'm working on A LOT of bagels back here, I have yours and am still working on them!" Oh okay, I thought maybe I was wrong so I sat back down. Lo and behold I waited another 15 minutes when finally they confessed they gave away my bagels. Then they started loudly complaining to the other employees "oh well we aren't set up back here for a line of bagels and if you order the bagels then you need to pay attention" ... they also were out of bagels entirely by that point. They went in the basement and got me a frozen bagel that was rock solid, and didn't apologize when they handed me the bag (30 mins after I ordered). This isn't the first issue I've had here but it will be the last. Just terrible all around, this place isn't worth it. Frozen bagels, slow and rude service, mediocre coffee. Take your business elsewhere.

Yelp
Lucky Goat Coffeehouse is a quaint and cute local coffee shop. Their latte options are delicious and unique. I'm a big fan of floral lattes. Their signature Renewal Latte contains rose and vanilla flavors. Truly a delight when I'm in the area! The seating is decent - there's a few tables in the front of the shop, plenty of seating in the back, and some outdoor patio chairs as well.

Yelp
Upon first arrival I realized they didn't have much seating outdoors or indoors, probably because of Covid. I've seen other Yelp pictures with all the seats and was excited to lounge, but that wasn't the case during my visit. Luckily there was a small table outside so my boyfriend and I sat there. When ordering I couldn't tell if they served food or not because I saw pastries in their glass case but I didn't see a menu anywhere. When we asked the cashier she just stated what foods they served so we just chose from there. If you have time to check out their website they actually have a nice infographics on their menu (but still nothing about their cute pastries :( ). I wish they also included prices on their menu. When choosing a baked good, I did notice was that there were little fruit flies flying around the pastries and I almost didn't want to get anything at all, but we ended up ordering a sesame bagel with strawberry cream cheese. For drinks we got an oat milk latte and an orange truffle mocha with whole milk. TBH they were all standard and good. The sesame bagel was really delicious and paired so well with the strawberry cream cheese. The oat milk latte was just alright, but the orange truffle mocha was the star of the morning. It tasted like those chocolate oranges with espresso. After seeing their menu online and how they have seasonal drinks, I think I'd try this café out every season and especially when they have indoor seating available! It's such a quaint little café in the neighborhood!

Yelp
I very desperately needed a power outlet for my laptop and a recharge for me, so I quickly Googled for the nearest non-Starbucks coffee shop with free wifi and headed to Lucky Goat. I was lucky to find nearby street parking and found a seat with a power outlet when I arrived. Free wifi! Excellent espresso! Abundant electricity! I was able to get the little bit of work done that I needed to do and my coffee left me powered up for my drive to Central PA. Thank you, Lucky Goat! [Review 10384 overall, 150 of 2019.]

Yelp
Ordered 3 lattes and 3 bagels to go. Look at the photos attached. They just refuse to put cream cheese. If you order bagels from them, make sure to ask to put cream cheese. I am so disappointed. Don't mind to support a local business. But, I do mind getting ripped off on cream cheese. I mean, this is Philadelphia

Yelp
Excellent in every way! Best coffee and pastries. Wonderful friendly staff and atmosphere.

Yelp
Nearly perfection. The coffee was amazing, the pastry was delicious. The leafy, sunny, shady seating area outside was pure delight. You could sit out there and listen to the birds and ponder over the world and offer small courtesies to your fellow customers and consider how rich and lovely and beautiful the world really is. My only complaint was the rap music playing at 7AM inside the shop, but I got out quickly to a far more tranquil, quiet environment.

Yelp
Cozy coffee shop that has good coffee, friendly baristas and good lighting. Only downside is there's not much space for seating so know that before going in. It also gets pretty loud if you're trying to have a conversation so don't come to spill secrets :) I'd definitely make this my go to spot if I lived in the area.

Yelp
Update: The service here has changed a bit since I first started coming to the shop in 2020 and I thought it significant enough to mention. There is some inconsistency in the quality of some of the coffee drinks which is to be expected with different baristas. However, it is annoying when you already have your expectations set. For example, my Dirty Chai Latte with Oat milk has a noticeable difference in taste across baristas. Sometimes the milk isn't steamed warm enough with some drinks as well/it gets cold quickly. I've also noticed some customers linger at the counter to chat with the baristas and the space is small. When it is busy and you have someone lingering in the counter space or blocking the stairwell to the back room it is annoying to feel like your drink isn't top priority. The same goes for having sugar, milks, and lids stocked on the self serve end of the counter. If the shop isn't super busy and baristas aren't occupied there's no reason to not replenish these things. I still recommend this as a great spot in the neighborhood. However, keep in mind this update!

Yelp
I was looking for a cute coffee shop to come by and meet a friend on the weekend, and this ended up being a nice spot. The seating area is SUPER small (like 3-4 tables), and it just so happened that I got there early enough to get a spot. However, the tables were pretty close together, so if you're looking for a quiet spot, this is probably not it. The drinks we ordered were both good, a hot chocolate and one of their seasonal chais. They are a little pricey for what they are, but it's a nice atmosphere to sit and have drinks in. I would probably come here again!

Yelp
Cute coffee shop! I spent my morning at Lucky Goat and they had everything a girl could want: wifi, strong coffee, delicious pastries, and big windows to watch the world go by. I loved my ham and cheese croissant and the barista kindly offered to warm it up for me. The coffee was hella strong and I thought the Americano was a lot smoother than the plain coffee (#allthecaffeine). The fruit-infused water by the register was delicious! I'm not in this area too often but may need to go out of my way for Lucky Goat in the future!

Yelp
This is a cute little coffee shop with nice decor and great music. I ordered the Lucky Goat latte. It was delicious. And service was great.

Yelp
Super cute unassuming spot for coffee and a snack. It's an easy walk from Girard ave. It's got a decent amount of outside seating although inside is a bit cramped. There is another seating area also in the back (still inside) but I didn't really check that space out. Coffee is good I believe I saw they serve la Colombe. Or at least it's in those dispensers. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel as well. I love the way it's presented with the cream cheese but there weren't a lot of raisins in the bagel. Maybe just the bagel or maybe the brand that they buy. Who knows. I'll probably go back just because it's so cute and easy to get to. Also a major positive for me is that they had oat milk. Yes please.

Yelp
Great coffee with great indoor and outdoor seating options and friendly staff. When I ordered the "007", they were missing a minor ingredient and offered to make me an equivalent drink off menu that was fantastic.

Yelp
I just moved to the neighborhood and I heard such great things about the Lucky Goat. It's been temporarily closed since I moved due to COVID-19 but today when we passed by on our walk it was open. I got a vanilla latte that was easy to order online. I highly recommend this corner cafe and supporting your local coffee shop during this time. Thanks for the delicious coffee... I think we will be making this a Saturday routine.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here. From all the awesome reviews I was expecting big things and it just fell short for me. The place is small, but I loved the way it looked as soon as I came in. They have a small menu at the register, but the specials are on the wall to the left as you walk in. My disappointment and 2 stars comes from my actual drink... I asked for almond milk and was definitely given soy (which I didn't realize until I was already gone from the coffee house- ordered my drink to go). Also, I want to be able to taste the espresso in my drink. I got a triple shot latte and really couldn't taste anything except for the soy milk. Again, disappointed. I really liked the place itself so will definitely try again the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
The last day of our visit in Philly wouldn't be complete without going to a local coffee shop. Located by a corner of the neighborhood, this place has a comfortable atmosphere. The area looks small at first when you walk in, because there are several small tables and some tall chairs by the window. There is a small hallway on the right side of the bar and there are more available seating in the back. When we approached this coffeehouse, this place is surrounded by other apartments. I don't usually do much reviews on this, but I'll go ahead and mention it. When I went to the bathroom, I realized the bathroom had a shower. This dawned on me that this place was an apartment before? Or it feels like it is, that's for sure. Their inventory is downstairs behind the bar and there has to be an upstairs somewhere. But I never looked around to find the upstairs. On with the drinks! Shall we? We ordered a Vanilla Latte ($4), Chai Latte ($3.50), and Hot Chocolate ($3.25).Total came out to be over $13. Lucky Goat Coffeehouse uses Square, so if you are already used Square before, the receipt will be emailed to you. The barista was very friendly and he made awesome drinks. The Vanilla Latte tasted great and it wasn't too hot. They also make seasonal drinks as well. So for those seasonal drink lovers, check this place out!

Yelp
Very cozy and homey environment. Its located in a residential area so there is plenty of free parking nearby. Definitely great if you want to hang out in a coffee shop without having to pay for city parking. This is a relatively smaller coffee shop, but they do have a few more seating areas in the back. I didn't have an issue coming here on a weekday, but I can see how this place could easily be overcrowded and unreliable to do work at. The other disadvantage is the lack of water/sparkling water. I call it the Holy Trinity of coffee shops: sparkling water, wifi, and outlets. They have 2 out of the 3. As for drinks, very tasty mocha. I will definitely come by and check out their more unique drinks in the future.
google avatar

Vivienne L.

Yelp
Super cute place! I found this coffee shop while in the area and was attracted to its unique name. I decided to drop in and get an iced coffee (they had food there as well). The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. They have wifi that was initially slow at first but was fine after a few minutes. The coffee was good, not overly bitter and the cashier was very friendly. The back area to the shop is a bit small and there is a tiny bathroom attached pretty close so if you go be wearly people might be able to hear you. Just saying...

Yelp
I continue to enjoy their lattes and pastries! Plus, the ordering process is easy despite COVID restrictions.

Yelp
I come here when I want to get a little creative with my caffeinated beverages. I'm a big fan of their "El Diablo", a raspberry mocha with cayenne. Definitely try it if you're a fan of a little pep! Most recently I tried the "Wooly Mammoth" which contained dark chocolate, cardamom, cinnamon and blackberry. It was very delicious! They always have two menu posters on the wall noting the seasonal drinks, both teas and coffee which they are currently offering as well as one poster with their signature house favorites. They are all uber creative and it's really hard each time I've visited to choose just one of the options with quirky names such as "Walking Dead" & "007". Lucky Goat of course offers all of the standard coffee shop beverages, but honestly, that's not why you're going to want to come here. Stepping out of your comfort zone a bit here would be my advice. I love the feeling of coming in knowing I can try something new each and every time I visit, but can always go back to an old favorite if I so choose. There's a couch and some outdoor seating which I where you can usually find me. There are barstool seats by the side windows as well as two tops in the main room. There's also an upstairs which is a tad more spacious. There's games for adults and books for kiddos. I haven't tasted any of the food, but I do go a few blocks out of my way just for those unique drinks alone when in Fairmount/Brewery section of the city. I say try it! Oh, and they have almond and other non dairy milk varieties for the fellow veg-heads out there!

Yelp
Great pastries and coffee. I love the seasonal drink menus. My basic white girl ness loves all of their fall pumpkin coffee concoctions. The coffee is strong and the lattes are unique and delicious. I'm a huge fan of their blueberry tarts as well. Always fresh. However this place is a bit small and it can be hard to get a seat during busy morning hours.

Yelp
While the coffee and pastries are great quality, this low review is based on poor customer service. I have been 3 times, each met with negative customer experiences. While mistakes happen and can be forgiven, I have NEVER received friendly service. On the contrary, I have been met with entitlement and rudeness. See below for detailed accounts: The first time I ordered a large drip for my partner and a small drip for myself. The barista first poured the small and set it down on the counter. Next he poured the large , but realized that he under-poured. Rather than add coffee to the large cup, he took my small coffee and dumped a couple ounces into the large cup. I politely asked him to please fill back up my small coffee. He did so begrudgingly (i.e., he rolled his eyes). The second time, I ordered $36 worth of coffee and pastries for myself and visiting family. I had a $50 bill and the cashier said they didn't take 50s. This was hard to believe, since my bill was only $14 shy of $50. Part of my order included a bag of coffee beans. It was only after I paid (with a credit card instead of my preferred method of cash) that I was told they only had pre-ground beans. I needed whole beans, so we had to reverse the transaction. I'm not sure why they didn't inform me of this BEFORE they charged me. What is worse, in my opinion, is that no one apologized or provided a friendly experience. During this same visit, I ordered 3 pastries. When I got home, one of them was a savory cheese croissant, instead of the peach danish I had ordered. Most recently, I came back to place another large order for my visitors. After the original order was placed, I go back in line to order 1 more drink - an iced mocha. I sat down to wait, since there were 3 drink orders ahead of me. I watched as those 3 customers received their drinks, then watched another half dozen or so customers order and receive drinks (who came AFTER me). I politely went up to the counter to ask the barista if the iced-mocha was coming, and he gave a curt "yes". I then saw him quickly grab a cup and hurriedly make my drink. It was obvious he forgot. Again, this is ok - but the fact that there was no acknowledgment or apology is the epitome of poor customer service. In sum, I wanted to like this place because of the quality products and proximity to my house. I wish the owner was aware that his/her employees are making many mistakes and doing so without any sense of hospitality.

Yelp
Baaahaaaahaaaa!!!! Bababahahabaaaaaa! That's goat for, This place is pretty tight, metaphorically and literally speaking. It's a cute little shindig to get your caffeine on. The latte I ordered was good, strong, and boldly flavored. The place IS small, see my pics of the back room and front room, five small two seater tables in the front. In the back hosts one long six seater, a small two seater, and two couch like apparatus. Would I come back here to fire up my neurons? Yes.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Cute little spot with good outdoor seating. All the standard coffee drinks and a few specialty creations. I was disappointed because I thought they had snacks/pastries based on other reviews but there was only one bagel.

Eli R.

Yelp
Can't for the life of me understand the 4 and 5 star reviews. They're always out of something (cold cups, hot cups, lids, oat milk, almond milk, straws, bagels...), and the baristas are spectacularly unfriendly and sometimes outright hostile. Half of them make decent coffee; the other half are chaotic on the bar. Have also seen some questionable sanitary measures - wet rags being rested in random places like the top of the espresso machine or next to the cash register and then used to wipe off the steam wand. Big yikes.
google avatar

Gwendolyn P.

Yelp
I really wish lucky goat would carry skim milk. On several occasions they have either not had it, or worse handed it to me and then I realized that the expiry date had passed. I can imagine that I am not the only person that doesn't like whole milk or cream in my coffee. It just seems to me like skim milk should be a staple at a coffee house and it isn't here. Other than that, the service is always friendly and they have a nice assortment of fresh pastries. It is for sure a welcome addition to the neighborhood.....if management reads these reviews....please consider having fresh skim milk.
google avatar

Cassie A.

Yelp
I really love this little hidden gem. The coffee is fantastic. The staff is typically very friendly. It's a little small inside so I may not personally pick this as a place to go sit and work. There is only a few tables and they are very close together, however, it's a great place to grab a cup to go. A little on the pricey side.
google avatar

Josue A.

Yelp
Their Iced Red eye is incredible! Not super bitter and just the right amount of that caffeine "kick". The staff is very nice, quick and professional. They have been my go-to coffee spot in Fairmount.
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
Fantastic little spot. Love all their specialty drinks and how effort the baristas put into them. They have free WiFi and plenty of places to sit and get some work done. Place fills quickly on the weekends. Would definitely make this my regular spot if I lived closer.
google avatar

Min S.

Yelp
The place is unassuming, embedded onto the street corner of a neighborhood of rowhouses. Inside, the decor is inviting and cozy. The lucky goat hot drink is a well-crafted sweet latte. I usually find specialty drinks overly sweet or spiced, but the chocolate/hazelnut and the salt finish balance the sweetness. Espresso was pulled well, nice and round without the overly bitter aftertaste of overextracted grounds. Although I didn't get any pastries, they are all drool-worthy, especially the cheese splayed croissants.
google avatar

Peter B.

Yelp
I came here twice to have a latte and enjoy a little down time with the New York Times. The coffee is very good. They have some baked goods and bananas too but I didn't try either of those. The service is satisfactory and sometimes very good. The atmosphere is perfect - cozy, well lit, simple, clean, and fairly quiet. It can get a little crowded when busy because it's so small so just head to the back room. There's a unisex restroom back there too.
google avatar

Xander S.

Yelp
Goto Fairmount North neighborhood shop. Great service, fun offerings, clean, bright, charming, and artistic --one of 4 terrific independent coffee spots within 7 blocks of Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Goat has the best name, Monkey and Elephant is a close second tho' for cafe naming.

Kirsten B.

Yelp
Cashier was rude and not friendly at all. Barista was nice, but the coffee tasted old.

Josh G.

Yelp
This place don't know how to make cappuccino, if you can't compare then you would think it's good also the people that are working should be trained..

Kara O.

Yelp
This place is so adorable! If you can find parking on one of the side streets (free!) its absolutely worth it. I got the Lucky Goat because of course and it did not disappoint! The barista was really nice, the service was fast, and the dining space is well kept - lots of natural light as well. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Philly
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by on a weekday with some co-workers for a pick-me-up. We were lucky to find parking right outside. As we entered, we were greeted by the friendly barista who immediately took our order. They were happy to fill my travel mug (unfortunately not every coffee shop is happy to do so). We were served quickly, and were back on our way in less than 5 minutes. The coffee and teas order we perfect. And the Danish received rave reviews. Would definitely return if I find myself in the area again.

Zoe C.

Yelp
I feel very fortunate that this is my neighborhood cafe. An innovative drink menu, cozy space for studying (I like to sit at the bar or the big table in the back), and great baristas to boot. I also feel compelled to mention that as a regular, I was present when Michael S., who wrote a nasty 1 star review 11/24/19, came in. On this fateful day there were two people behind the counter: one person greeting people and taking orders and one person making drinks. After this dude put in his order with the appropriate person, he then makes several comments without provocation to the barista making drinks (again, not interacting with customers, merely making a lovely oat milk latte for me) to "lighten up." Then, egregiously, this FUCKING GUY in 20 FUCKING 19 tells the barista DOING HER JOB TO SMILE. Honestly, that the barista did not suckerpunch Michael S. in the face after such an incident deserves 5 stars in customer service. Oh and by the way Mike, it was me who said "that's fucking rude," because women are sick of that shit. My oat milk latte was amazing that day, though.

Yelp
I came here after seeing a couple of reviews on yelp for Lucky Goat Coffeehouse. Great menu, great people, great ambience and great times. Their menu has every thing I like and I'm so excited to try it all. Oh yes, and the crew is incredibly friendly. Lucky Goat Coffeehouse - Certainly a new spot of mine.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute place! Small and quaint, the coffee is delicious and they have every kind of alternative milk you could want. Oat, soy, almond, coconut and another I think.
google avatar

Jessie N.

Yelp
We love coming to Lucky Goat when we are in Philadelphia. Great coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Bagels are fresh and really good. It's less expensive than other coffee places in the area with much higher quality - if you're working it's nice to sit in the back room.
google avatar

Kara F.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in the whole neighborhood. I work from home, so I spend a lot of time in Fairmount's coffee shops. Lucky Goat is the best by far. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bagels and pastries are delicious. Most importantly, the drinks are great and made with precision and care. The Lucky Goat is my go to. The vibe here is also really great. Good music and a low key, non-fussy atmosphere.
google avatar

Bernice T.

Yelp
This is a cozy neighborhood coffee shop with reliable wi-if and friendly service! There's also a little area in the back for you to meet with a group and have more of a semi-private experience. You can order pastries, bagels and hand crafted beverages and catch good vibes. There is also a diverse and communal feel to their space. You can bring out of town visitors, philly locals and business affiliates. The tea selection is also quite pleasing.

Yelp
After a cycling race we took a jaunt over to the lucky goat. It was phenomenal! Lox cream cheese on an everything bagel and a large latte all for a steal... It was like $6.50!

Yelp
today i totally wiped out on my bike in front of Lucky Goat, but their amazing employee Tess came to my rescue with water and ice packs! I always loved my neighborhood coffee place for their drinks, but this service was next level

Yelp
Great little coffee shop. Cute, cozy atmosphere. It's easy to post up and get work done- a key to coffee shops that I love. There is lots of natural light and in the summer they have outside seating in the front as well as a smaller patio in the back. In the back there is a really large table so if there is room you can spread your wings and work! Staff is cool. There was one barista (woman) who was pretty unfriendly, thankfully she was only working 1 of the times I was there. The rest of my interactions with other staff have been great! Dranks: YUM! The "Lucky Goat" is a must try. Once I had it, I was hooked. The drip coffee is yummy too if you aren't into spending the absurd amount of $ on a fancy drink. There other specialty drinks and teas look great too. There is one with rose in it and it was nice because you could actually taste the rose, vs some places have 'cool' ingredients but you can't ever taste them- WHAT'S THE POINT PEOPLE?! Food: Pastries are a good treat. And they have a nice selection of bagels with cream cheese too. Parking: non-metered street, and have never had an issue finding a spot that is close
