I have not seen a dim sum cart since COVID started. This place had a couple and the variety was really good. They only do the egg tarts on Saturday and Sunday, though.

Lucky House has the most delicious dim sum of anywhere we've found in our area, and all the staff are super nice. The only reason I gave four stars, instead of five, is the cost is a bit on the high side...though I suppose typical of dim sum these days...but enough it keeps us from being able to eat there more than once every couple of months. If you like dim sum though, this place delivers exceptionally tasty options. My personal favorites are the Shu Mai, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Footballs and Sesame Balls, but everything I've tried so far has been good. My picky eater son even loved the beef honeycomb, which is tripe, if that tells you anything!

I met a Facebook Marketplace buyer at this spot and decided to try out the dim sum. Surprisingly, it was delicious! Don't judge a book by its cover. The friendliness of the staff varied; some were nice, while others were not so much. They do offer spacious parking on-site. The atmosphere is pleasant, spacious, and tidy. I'd rate this place a solid 4.5 overall.

Google
*** we returned for Dim Sum this weekend and it was the first time we had had cart service in years. It was a fully enjoyable experience and we will be back. The Siu Mai Dumplings are excellent but my favorite is the sticky rice and steamed black bean spareribs. My husband really enjoyed the steamed bean curd roll and the deep fried shrimp dumpling. We tried a lot of items but there's so many more to come back for. We ordered take out from here tonight for the first time and I'm really glad we did. Excellent customer service from the gentleman that took our order over the phone and then helped us when we arrived. We'll definitely be coming back for Dim Sum service. We ordered the house special chow mein with crispy noodles, Bok choy with garlic sauce, sweet and sour pork, tofu stuffed with shrimp, Siu Mai dumplings and sesame balls. I really appreciate when a place knows how to pack their food for takeout and everything stays hot and crispy. The house Chow Mein was really good but the garlic sauce on the Bok Choy was amazing and we spooned some of the sauce on the noodles too. The sweet and sour pork had a lot of nice big pieces and the batter wasn't too thick or gooey inside. The S&S sauce has zip which I really enjoy. The dumplings are huge and really tasty, you can always tell good Dim Sum by the Siu Mai and these were pretty good. Sesame balls were ok but they're my favorite and I will eat them no matter what. Looking forward to dining in soon

We stopped by after picking up Megastar to go. We needed dumplings to pair with our roast pork and roast duck combo we had just ordered from Megastar. Thankfully they were across the street so we didn’t have to travel far. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot was almost full. I ordered the siu mai, steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed shrimp and chive dumplings, and the green beans with garlic. I paid $36 for everything. What a great price. The dumplings were all huge. The siu mai were a good three biter. The shrimp dumplings were smooth with chunks of shrimp. A simple yet delicious har gow. We also really enjoyed the shrimp and chive. These were made fresh , I had to wait a little longer for these to come out. Well worth it. The chive gave it a nice flavor. A good price for sizes. Also the green beans! A whole takeout container for $7 . The best garlic green beans I’ve had. You must try their chili oil as well! Not that spicy at all. I could finally douse my dumplings in a chili oil. Can’t wait to come back and try more dumplings.

Fast and friendly service. I appreciate the cart service dim sum, but I was a bit disappointed that the non-steamed dishes were somewhat cold and the dishes were pretty pricey.

Google
The atmosphere was fine, but one of the waitresses? We could not understand each other well, and while the tea, dim sum, and soup broth were good, the wontons and the noodles weren't. Would not recommend.

Cheyenne Marx

Google
Do not get their spicy chicken with garlic sauce. Ain’t nothing spicy about this dish and it’s full of vegetables with 4 pieces of thin chicken. Service is okay the waitress always seems annoyed and rushes you to order. Your food will also arrive within 5 minutes warm and not steaming hot so I’m not sure if they’re freshly making their food.

Yelp
One of only two dim sum restaurants I know in this state that still carry their dim sum goodies in carts being manually pushed between tables... very sad times we've come to. I came here with a group of ~15 around 11:30am on a Sunday, and my sis made a reservation for the place just in case. It actually wasn't busy at all, but for our group we had to be split into one large roung table and a separate 4-person table. We ordered mostly the usual stuff, but everything overall was better quality than I had remembered from when I went here with my family many years back after a trip to the Puyallup Fair (yes I still call it that because Washington State Fair doesn't roll off the tongue...). I get dim sum a lot so I'll only list the notable things here: - The shrimp with spinach dumpling was interestingly good. It was essentially a regular har gow with a strong spinach taste if you look past the color. - Egg tarts were probably my favorite; they had a flaky crust to theirs and the taste between the crust and the yolk was very balanced. - The siu mai was very fresh; I remember it was piping hot when servers brought it to us by cart. A pretty solid place for dim sum and I'll most likely come back here again after another special event for sure!

Yelp
My family and I have frequent this restaurant for many years but in the last couple of years the food has changed a bit. One of our favorite were the Salt & Pepper Chicken wings! Those were bomb! Recently they have become very battered. I don't recall them ever being batter before. Wish I took a picture but they literally looked like over stuff shrimp tempuras. I'm sure they still somewhat still taste the same but the batter is just heavy and soaks up a lot of oil. The Soy sauce noodles is basically tossed in sesame seed oil and called it a day :( they had the best. Service was still good! Get there early on a Sunday, the place is small.

Yelp
I've driven by this and the other Chinese bbq place nearby for years while working in the area and never tried either. Bbq joint was closed at lunch on a Friday!? So dim sum or a lunch special really sounded good so I tried to get Lucky. A very lovely sweet young hostess and two older servers were great to get me seated right away, choice between lunch combo or dim sum. Because reviews talked about cart service I chose that since there were other tables eating and my nostalgic memories of great dim sum cart options. After deciding to splurge on dim sum I realized that THE cart was mostly empty and instead of traditional small steel steam trays it was a glass enclosure cart with plated items. I started with the only thing I might eat from a few lousy choices in the cart, shrimp and chives dumplings, and ordered two other faves of mine from the kitchen. Those items never came and they let me think about how dried out and stiff the item I ordered was. Then I looked at their prices and realized it was going to be over $20 before tax and tip for food I didn't like that may or may not be coming. So I had to check out with the hostess since the servers weren't coming around. She was very kind and apologetic. It was over $10 before the standard tip I left for three small dried out pieces of which I only ate two. Wow I left out the fact it's dirty old Herfy's location with storage junk over the whole back wall of the restaurant and an equally filthy cook smoking a cig in front of the place. That usually doesn't keep me from eating at an Asian restaurant but my wife wouldn't think of eating here! She was excited to see the one item I couldn't stand to eat when I brought it home for her. We eat a lot of this type of food on weekends and know well. She says Trader Joe's frozen dim sum is better. I wouldn't know as I don't eat that stuff she brings home. If it was excellent and good service without giving me time to think about it I would have stayed but I was so disappointed I closed out and left. Left hungry!! Went to Taco Bell and enjoyed a bean burrito more than these Hockey pucks! So much better Chinese food elsewhere

Yelp
We ended up going here today and it was pretty good. The new thing we got was the honey walnut prawns which didn't feel like prawns, it was pretty thin. We got the soy sauce supreme chowmein which was pretty good. We also got the short ribs and we did not care for it at all. It was just straight up no taste and all pepper. The service was definitely great!

Yelp
It has been a while since coming here to enjoy some dim sum for lunch! I like coming here for the convenience and also their dim sum is good! As soon as we entered we were greeted by the very kind hostess and she was able to get us a seat right away, too. The restaurants interior is a bit crowded the way they have arranged their seatings, not sure how else they can possibly make more room because the place it self isn't that big. I'm pleased with the dim sum here. A few of my favorite things to order is the beef tripe, shui mai, and the fried shrimp balls! I love how they give you the honey walnut prawn sauce on the side, too! Yummy!

Yelp
Mediocre. The hot and sour soup is great. Mongolian beef is flavorful and a good spice to it but not the best cuts of meat. Sweet and sour pork is fine, classic overall. The chow mein and fried rice tastes like it was cooked with old oil, dirty smelling and was not good at all. Not ordering again .

Yelp
Drove 50 min and they just randomly closed today we had 3 parties on their way. You can't do that to customers

Yelp
Have lived in Kent for 21 years and this was our first stop at Lucky House. The building itself is not very welcoming to start, but able to make our way in and bring out the typical Chinese decor on the inside. Lots of smiles when we walked in and kindly showed us our table. We wanted dim sum, but they also have a full menu to order off of for those not into dim. Once greeted our server disappeared, took her a while to come back for the order but once we ordered the food came flying out of the kitchen. There were some pluses and there were some just ok. Everyone has a shumai and theirs was probably a 3-4, just not a lot of flavor. The green beans were awesome and a very close second to the you know who restaurant The best dish was the crispy shrimp balls. How can I explain, a large prawn stuffed into a ball of goodness the. Dipped and coated with crunchy won ton wrappers and fried to a golden perfection. This was served with a honey dressing. And was incredible. The value is there as we ordered large dishes and we ended up taking home left overs. Odd thing, is I noticed they brought tea out with your water whether ordered or not and then charged you 1.75. Another odd thing they had posted was 18% gratuity on 5 ppl. It didn't affect us, but the table next to us were confused even though it was posted clearly. Will come again.

Yelp
I thought it was little sketchy about this place so I have been avoiding to visit but it was wrong! Great place for quick dimsum anytime. My favorite is shumai (shrimp pork dimsum) it is giant in size and very chucky. Beef tendon has crazy the most chewy texture in the world and I love it! Shumai ***** Beef tendon ****( dont like the curry sauce as much as the texture lol) Pan fried radish cake **** Shrimp with Scallops **** Tofu shrimp **** Eggplant ** Chinese broccoli ***** Snap peas with garlic sauce **** Fried rice roll *** I havent had other Chinese dishes they have but dimsum tho. Can't wait to try out other dimsum menus and their dishes eventually.

Yelp
Mediocre food, lackluster service. $1.25/person for tea. No wait at 10:30AM on a Saturday. My favorite thing about Lucky House is the carts with food already available - one has steamed items and one has fried and baked stuff. However, none of the dishes I usually get at a dim sum restaurant (Siu Mai, Steamed Bean Curd Roll, BBQ Pork Bun, Custard Bun) stood out; all were just alright. We spent a little over $60 for 2 adults and 3 kids, which isn't cheap, especially for the food quality.

Yelp
This place had the best dim sum I've ever had! The best of the best! The golden shrimp and chive dumplings will knock your socks off! They are beautifully seared, juicy, and so flavorful! The short ribs are seasoned to the bone and so tender! Their shumai is off the chain! So flavorful and well cooked! Lucky house knows what they are doing!

Yelp
It's rare to find push carts dim sum to relive my youth. This place is located in Kent and there's ample of parking in the lot. The service was impeccable, the staff was really nice. We came here on Friday for lunch. I noticed a lot of people ordering to-go. It wasn't too busy when we came but there's a lot of tables, and I can see it filling up over the weekend. There's two carts; one for the fried food and the other for the steam food. There's a lot of selections, so you can pick as many as your heart desire. The dim sum was pretty good. The sui mai has a nice size to it. Chicken feet was okay. Couldn't go wrong with the radish cake. I would totally recommend coming here, as there isn't much of a wait on the food like other places. It's a typical dim sum restaurants, for a nice get together with friends and family.

Yelp
Not clean didn't smell good for a restaurant where you sit and eat. Being from California i see things different

Yelp
all dim sum menu are delicious. the only dim sum restaurant in WA state that has authentic menu and served using a cart... the best dim sum place. high recommended

Yelp
Yummy food, very sweet people. Thank you so much! Beautiful environment & family friendly. I ordered pea vines & they came with garlic. Portion was good for 1-3 people. Then I tried the pork soup dumpling which I loved. The hot tea is 1.25 per person so I enjoyed a full pot of tea for myself for only 1.25. Hospitality is good here.

Yelp
In South King County, the options for Chinese Dim Sum begin to dwindle due to the restaurants available to make these tasty little dishes. All of these dishes are known worldwide, and all are favorites. But again, where would you go? Look no further than Lucky House in Kent, WA! This restaurant is a blessing as it has dim sum every day until 9pm! Most restaurants close up their dim sum service at 3pm, if you're lucky. Being in Kent makes this restaurant a gem. Lucky House does serve a broader traditional family-style Chinese menu for lunch and dinner. However, if you are like me and looking for specific dim creations that hit the spot, this is your place. The dim sum classics are here: shiu mei, har gown, and honey walnut prawns. However, if you want seasoned chicken feet, banana leaf wrapped sticky rice, or stramed gai lan (Chinese broccoli) topped with oyster sauce... they got you! Steamed desserts are also available. So, make room steamed rice cakes and tea! Now be advised, if you're looking for fancy or impressive Chinese decor, this is not the place. This is Chinese casual dining. But the food is good. The selections are hearty, and this is a place you definitely don't mind coming back to! Thanks Lucky House!

Yelp
Great food. Terrible service. Haven't felt that unwelcome in a place in a long time. Great for a first date I was on. From the moment we sat down the woman serving us acted like we were putting her out and it was close to closing time. They were going to be open for a few more hours. Getting our leftovers boxed was clearly a task that was looked down upon based on the woman's reaction. The man that welcomed us when we came in was fine. But, yeah, my date felt very disrespected. Which is too bad, as she really liked the food, too. Won't be back.

Yelp
Hidden little yum cha restaurant in Kent. Near Kent station/ Kent downtown. The restaurant has its own parking lot (free of course) We got there right at 10am on Saturday when they opened. There was no cars in the parking lot so we were nervous. The windows from the outside is dark so we can't see inside We were the first customers to arrive. They sat us right to away, asked us what tea we wanted. The ladies with the dim sum cart came over right away asking us what we wanted to get Steaming hot food came off the steam cart for us. Everything was delicious and generous size. As we were finishing up around 10:35am, more and more customers started filling up the place (but still have empty tables) The food here is good and minimal weight. Since the food is on the cart you can get what you want right away. No need to order from iPad and wait like the "modern" dim sum/ yum cha places Staff seemed cold at first, but I think that's just the Chinese way, we don't show a lot of affection LOL. But they were really kind. One of the lady was complimenting our kids and it made our kids so happy Must come check it out! Highly recommended. They have high chairs and boosters.

Yelp
Extremely clean bathrooms! The service is decent. I was looking to try dimsum in Washington for the first time but was disappointed in the food quality and presentation. Lots of the food was lukewarm and had little resemblance to authentic dimsum that I have had in other parts of the country and world. Specific mentions: The seafood tofu soup was extremely disappointing -- no egg white, crab, etc that you would typically find at other places. The cha siu bao was decent, a bit too sweet and the insides were unevenly filled. It had been sitting on a cart so it was cold. The xiao long bao was also cold, not much soup and thick skin. The lo mai gai was decent but didn't have much meat in it. The shrimp dumplings and chiu chow dumplings were ok. The skin tore too easily and the taste was mediocre.

Yelp
We came in on Saturday afternoon for some lunch! We were able to be seated right away, and we loved the decorations in the restaurant. When we were seated, there was food that was immediately available and pushed to us on a trolley. It was awesome to not only be able to see the food up close before ordering it, but choosing which one specifically. We ordered a bunch of food! The Garlic Green Beans- these were incredible. They were fresh, bright and went with everything. We couldn't stop eating these. Golden Shrimp and Chive-these were really fresh. More shrimpy than chive, but nice. Deep Fried Shrimp Ball-this was okay, although I prefer my shrimp fresh versus fried. I wouldn't get this again. Shanghai Dumpling-very satisfying. I love a good soup dumpling. Pan Fried Rice Noodle Roll- these noodles were rolled up to make thick little noodles. These were a chewy delight, and the flavor was solid. Salt and pepper squid-these were okay. They came with green onions and peppers, and the squid was fresh. I think these could have had a little bit more zing though, and they were a little too oily. I would pass on these unless they changed their recipe. BBQ buns- these were too sweet for me and not enough filling. Not for me at all. Sesame balls-these were excellent! Chewy and not too sweet. They nailed these. We enjoyed our food with their house tea, but heads up they do charge you for the tea-it is not free with the food. We would come back! We found that with their dishes, we either absolutely loved them, or didn't like them at all. They have room to grow, but the favorites of the day (green beans, soup dumplings, sesame balls, noodle rolls) were five star dishes.

Yelp
We ordered moo shu, pot stickers, siu mai, and crab Rangoon, cakes. No matter how many times we keep coming back for a delivery they forget half of our order then want to argue with you about it. So if you have other options find another this was close to our house don't was convenience that keeps turning into frustration

Yelp
Great place for dim sum all day long. One of the few places still serving it by push cart. Often use them for takeout.

Frank B.

Yelp
Good food friendly service. I have been eat;ing here for years and the food is consistent.
google avatar

Yelp
TOO EXPENSIVE I've been eating here for year but after today it was my last visit. 70 plus tip for dim sum lunch for 2 people And we didn't eat a ton it was 5 dim sum plates and one broccoli, and one peppered squid. So out the door was 82.00 it just too much for lunch. When shrimp and chive 3 pc dim sum is 9.95 that crazy. I can have nice dinner out for 100.00 And it not like it's a fancy dinning experience.
google avatar

Kristine A.

Yelp
Love this place. The Eggsauce with Shrimp over Rice is probably their most underrated item on the menu. I used to have to go to Chinatown for it but found out they serve it here too! The dimsum was all great too.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible eats, and matching prices, you won't leave disappointed. A favorite of mine is the shrimp and green peppers, but everything I've had has been stellar.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place! Been going here since I was a kid. It's a mom and pops spot. Best Dim Sum around!! Service is always speedy and the employees are friendly. The food is delicious, hot and fresh. Always busy when I come here. They have lazy Susan turn tables, which is very convenient and can accommodate big groups. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We came in as a group of 7. A service charge of 15% was included in the bill. There were 6 tables of 1 to 4 customer per table plus us. There were three waitresses plus the host. We placed orders of chow fun and Chinese broccoli. They never came. We signaled to the waitresses for dim sum. We were totally ignored. We got up to the carts and brought the dim sums to our table. In addition, the food was warm and the egg tart tasted old liked leftover from the prior day. We will never go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Just great dim sum. We took our friend from Taiwan there and she gave it two thumbs up. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but done be put off by it. The inside is clean and delicious.

Yelp
This is east Coast Style (NYC) Chinese American food. Finally--after living in seattle for many years we have found a place that serves similar style of Chinese food that is served in NyC.
google avatar

Tuan N.

Yelp
Was craving some dim sum and my normal spot was packed as usually so went to try this place out. Parking was easy and was able to get seated pretty quick even though they had a good flow of customers. One do the few dim sum places that still have the push carts which has some nostalgia factor. The food itself while pretty tasty, was just too greasy. It just shouldn't pool up in the plates. In a pinch this place will do, but with time I rather wait for the other dim sum place.
google avatar

Addison T.

Yelp
I have been eating at this restaurant for over 10 years since the last owners' management but after today, I am searching for a better option. I took my mom here for their dim sum lunch and they served us spoiled shrimp balls. I assumed that it was leftover from the previous day because I could taste how sour the filling inside was. Their shu mai was also old as well. One of the waitresses came up to me at the end and asked me why I wasn't leaving a tip and I was dumbfounded since my mom was at the front settling the check. I made it a point to ask my mom if she left a tip on her credit card and she confirmed that she did. We just walked out and that left a sour taste in my mouth, just as their spoiled old foods did.

Yelp
Everything from dim sum to all of the Chinese menu potsticker was a giant piece shrimp ball was huge too

Yelp
YUM DIM SUM!!! If you love Dim sum and don't want to drive to Seattle this is the place! It's awesome!!! Fast efficient service, carts running all the time with a full menu also. If it's not on the cart it will be made to order quickly. It's probably an old taco place converted but it's clean and comfortable enough. The Dim sum is the true goodness here, consistently delicious!!
google avatar

Melia R.

Yelp
Love this place! They do the cart style dim sum if you're looking for that specific type. Staff is so kind, very quick, and everything tastes so fresh.
google avatar

Dre W.

Yelp
I always order thru Uber Eats because I'm a flight attendant and don't drive in the Seattle area. I'm sick of this place! I order so much food from them and they NEVER give soy sauce! What Chinese restaurant does this!! I add notes for extras, they read the notes and charge me for anything extra but ignore the "please send soy sauce packets". It's written on the same note! And don't even select "Add Utensils " because they never send them. To me all they care about is the money and they won't get any more of mine. Period!

The Fortunate Chef O.

Yelp
The dim sum is great, with a very big selection and they do a great job with services for their customers. They respond to problems and correct them quickly and the food is always consistently good.
google avatar

Cynthia Erika S.

Yelp
So is this the best dim sum in Seattle? No. But hear me out on why I'm giving in 5 stars. We've been coming here for years. The location is convenient, there's always parking available in the lot, and the dim sum menu varied and the food is very delicious. They have lots of tables, therefore we never have to wait to be seated. Most of their tables have large floor to ceiling windows, so you can people watch if that's your thing. Also, I love that we can go in and let them know we don't eat meat. They always remember and give us fresh and hot veggie dim sum that we consistently go back for. Lastly their bathrooms are sparkling clean and beautiful, which tips them over the top as a mom of a potty training toddler
google avatar

Janice C.

Yelp
Excellent service. The food is some of the best Dim Sum around. Generous portions. A very clean and inviting atmosphere.

Jay G.

Yelp
I was craving dim sum since I wasn't able to get a table at Kirin in Canada. Mind you this isn't a comparison. The selection of dim sum is pretty standard. But I wouldn't say they have an extensive list. But you'll find everyone's favorites ie: har gow, siu mai, radish cakes, chicken feet, etc. Which all of them tasted as I would expect this place to taste like. I'm no dim sum connoisseur but I'd come back. It's decent. The location also played a factor into my rating, considering that there's not that much dim sum places in kent. Also they have carts! Most dim sum places don't do carts anymore but surprisingly they did which I enjoyed getting food almost immediately. Look this ain't no Kirin or Jade Garden. But for what it's worth I recommend coming here if you live nearby. If I wanted to get my dim sum fix I'd go here rather than driving 30+ mins.

Nhung T.

Yelp
I've known about this place for a while but was never really motivated to venture out from my usual dimsum places.. now I feel like I've wronged myself! This place is a gem. For Kent, it's a diamond. They have all the classics here, its large enough to sit your family comfortably and timely, but also small enough that the carts make its way to you every round they make. Yeah, no need to get out of your seat, flag down your dumplings, and stalk any cart ladies. The people working here are so friendly, it's almost jarring. No one yelling at you or making disapproving faces.. Probably the only non-authentic feeling thing about this place really-- the kindness and patience from the staff as opposed to many other dimsum places :) Everything was great. Too great actually.. The leftovers were also really great.. T____T time to break out the stretchy pants. 4

Stephen N.

Yelp
Food is average at best, kind of pricey in the neighborhood, so called tea is 1.25 per person, it's understandable for dim sum lunch, but dinner time? 2.5 small bowl of rice, 2 dishes (not seafood), walk out $57. For same items in Fairwood, 10$ cheaper likely, with free deserts. Kind of disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
The most expensive dim sum prices I've ever come across and I really don't know why because I didn't find any pearls inside the shumai.

Yelp
We usually come here for lunch, but it was our first time for dinner. We (4 adults & 2 kids) were the only ones there up until almost at the end. Anyway, we had our friends order what they wanted since we are celebrating their birthdays. Overall, our dinner was fine except we asked to have the egg drop soup reheated because it was served cold. We had no problem waiting whatsoever. At the end of our meal, I went to the cashier to pay for dinner because I wanted to treat them. After I paid, I returned to our table and checked with them if the receipt was correct. Well, it turned out we were charged extra for the steamed shrimp dumpling. So we asked the employee and told her what happened. She came back basically insisted and argued with us saying she gave two. I personally didn't ate any of the dumplings so I wasn't aware how many we had. But all other 3 adults on the table said we only received 1 steamed shrimp and 2 of the shumai. But the employee kept insisting and basically one of my friend was quite upset when he explained to her again. Long story short, she refunded us. But we're left disappointed because why would we even lie for an $8!? Think about it. Unsure if they have cameras inside but I hope they do so they can review our table and she will see what my friends were saying. It ended our dinner in a bad taste and will probably never return again.

Yelp
The owners are so friendly, service was good and the food was good. The crowd starts to pick up around noon on weekends. I'm glad there's still a push cart dim sum place around!
