Very strange experience. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benny. When the food came out, it was obviously cooked salmon. There was no acknowledgement from the server that the salmon will be cooked when I ordered, or when he brought out the food. When I asked about it, he told me the kitchen ordered the wrong kind of salmon, so smoked salmon is not available. I feel this would be good information to let the customer know before the order is placed. The server was pleasant but obviously there’s some lack of communication. Food was very bland, there was absolutely no seasoning in this cooked salmon. We were with our baby with limited time, so I just asked to get some tomato and avocado on the side to add myself

First off, the great soundtrack draws you in: T-Rex, Alice Cooper, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie. But definitely the highlight today was the chorizo poutine with fried eggs. The gravy was awesome and by using hand cut cubed fried potatoes they avoided the common poutine problem: soggy fries. Delicious. It's an old timey diner and seems to have a lot of repeat clientele. Highly recommended for a breakfast (or lunch! or brunch!)

A nice little diner off the main street in Vancouver. The food was good service was great and it takes you back to the 50s. parking is kind of hard to find but doable. I would eat breakfast here again.

our waitress was so nice i love her so much she’s so amazing!!!!!!!!! the food was also sooo yummy — i had the mac n cheese meatloaf hoagie which was okAy, the hoagie was super soft, but flavour of the meatloaf wasn’t very strong and was overpowered by the mac and cheese, even though the mac and cheese also kinda lacked flavour. everything tasted better eaten separately honestly?? the hoagie was also super loaded and a bit difficult to eat because everything kept falling out but that’s not really a big problem. the fries were surprisingly crispy though, and the aioli it came with was great. THE PANCAKES THOUGH WERE SOOO SOFT AND FLUFFY i was actually shocked, and the pulled pork was made really well — the bbq taste wasn’t too strong and sickening like it usually is, which i appreciate. the apple pie was also really warm and yummy, and i definitely recommend getting the ice cream with it because it goes so well.

Cool old school rustic diner. Hamburger was good with fresh ingredients. Fries were exceptionally crispy. Not a lot of beer selection but hard alcohol as well.

Google
Great old school place, little worn around the edges, but it adds charm. Great tasting burger, and the root beer milkshake was yummy! Great value, too...$25 for the combo, burger fries, and shake!!

Google
Good place on Main St for diner style food. The atmosphere is cool, with an old school diner aesthetic. The place is reasonably maintained, although some parts of the restaurant seemed a little worn down. There was an interesting food challenge, with a wall of shame for people who couldn't finish it. Service was fine, but we had to wait a while at times and it wasn't clear where we had to pay. The food was good! I got a grilled chicken and my friend ordered a BLT with avocado. The portions were large and the sandwiches were tasty, but my grilled chicken sandwich was a little dry. Definitely check this place out if you're in the mood for diner style food in a laid-back setting!

Lucy's Eastside Diner offers a cozy trip down memory lane with its homely retro atmosphere and delightful comfort food. Upon my recent visit with two friends, we indulged in a feast of classics, including the mouthwatering Mac and Cheese, savory Poutine, a Classic Burger, and a Clubhouse Sandwich. Each dish was visually appealing and flavorful. The Mac and Cheese was a little salty but i ended up liking it. The real stars of the show, however, were the milkshakes. Creamy, rich, and utterly delicious, they were the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Though we wished the regular size came in a traditional glass rather than a steel cup for aesthetic reasons, the taste more than made up for it. The atmosphere at Lucy's exudes warmth and nostalgia, transporting diners to a bygone era. The quick and excellent service only enhanced our experience, with the staff going above and beyond to accommodate modifications to our meals. Lucy's Eastside Diner offers a combination of great food, charming ambiance, and exceptional service. Whether you're craving comfort food classics or simply looking for a cozy spot to unwind, this diner comes highly recommended.

Yelp
I've only had breakfasts there but always good. Staff are excellent and patient; didn't rush us out as we dawdled over our coffee. Always looking for good diners and Lucy's is one.

Yelp
What is it that you're looking for? If it's high-end atmosphere, polished service with exquisite plating.... then skip this place. If it's a mid-range Diner experience with a super-casual and laid back homey feel....then keep reading..... The space itself is actually quite tiny, so it might be full if it's on a busy weekend morning. We went on a Saturday for breakfast and it was quiet. The service was friendly, casual and attentive. Kind of like...you decided to go over to your buddy's place next door for some eggs and coffee cuz you were too hungover to cook yourself.....sort of vibe. The All Day Breakfast Special was decent. Everything tasted fresh and it hit the spot. The eggs were good. The Sourdough was crispy. The Potatoes were crazy good...probably the best item on that plate. Asked for the Stack of Pancakes but apparently the chef had other ideas and we got served the French Toast instead. That day I didn't feel like sending it back...so I didn't. The toast was a bit flat but strangely enough it also hit the spot. I loved how the cinnamon was cooked right into it. I think Cinnamon should be right up there next to Gold...moving on.... The Chocolate Chip Cookie. When I found out it was homemade I got one. How can you not try a homemade cookie? Don't. Not that good. This little Diner, I would say is an acquired taste. Give it a try...you never know..it might be yours.

Yelp
I love diners. Maybe it was my Archie Comics diet growing up. I wanted to hang out at Pop's Chocklit Shop when I was young. There's just something so nostalgia about diners, having burgers and milkshakes, sitting at the counter or booths. We came here as my friend had been wanting to try the Uncle Grant eating challenge and he wanted to do try the food first. We ate before coming here (he could do multiple meals) so I only had a milkshake. At $10+ for regular shake, it is quite pricey. I had the strawberry milkshake and saw it was made with flavored syrup. The soft serve machine had to rest between use, so if you order more than 1 milkshake , it will take some time for all to be ready. I'm just quite disappointed the milkshake is made with syrup. The plus side is you could actually mix the different flavors though they don't recommend more than 2. My friend said the food was good, typical diner fare. Inflation has also mean the challenge now cost around $70 if you can't finish it within 20 mins. Come here if you want to go back in time with diner food (not the prices).

Yelp
(More like 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up). My kid has mentioned Lucy's Diner many times when she was living here and in her last years of high school, saying her friends and her have gone here many times for milkshakes and fries, often super late at night. She's often mentioned how the food here is quite good and the place is open 24/7. So it's been on my radar for a while, to come here, as I love diner food. Today was the day. I was surprised by how tiny the diner interior was. Like, super tiny. But it was clean. And when I say it was authentically retro, I mean it; it's not pretending to be retro, it actually is. The linoleum, the table and booth finishes, the brushed aluminum, the counter and bar stools.... it's all real and all old. Worn, with character. The walls, painted a hospital green, with large photos depicting a family in the 1950's, as well as bicycle handles mounted on high. Cake stands covered by glass cloches on the counter bar, full of cookies and pies. All that was missing was a waitress named Flo. Reading the reviews here, I was surprised to read how low all the prices are, as I was taken aback by how high the prices were (for diner fare). $10+ for a milkshake, $19.99+ for a burger and most meals. I guess that's the going rate nowadays, but don't expect to come here and get meals for a steal. It ain't happening. So how is the food, you may ask. Damn good! I heard their breakfast foods were terrific, but we were there at lunch-time, so I ordered a classic BLT with fries on the side, and my friend ordered a Cobb salad. (See my photos). Traditional diner "comfort" food. Portions were very hearty, and all our food was fresh. My sandwich was great, with the sourdough bread perfectly toasted and lots of bacon, perfectly cooked. They sure aren't scrimping on bacon (which was nice to see!). And I don't usually eat fries, but these were TERRIFIC: not greasy in the least, crunchy outside, soft inside. My friend and I both loved the fries. And her salad was chock-full of bacon, too, with fresh produce and feta and hard-boiled eggs. We both loved our meals. Service was slow but there's only one lady serving everyone, and she was nice, too. We figured, there's probably only one cook in the back, too. So...not that speedy, but not the worst. My friend said the bathroom in the rear was clean and had "typical kitschy diner decor". (I didn't check it out so I've no photos). There was lots of metered street parking out front on Main Street. This place is a little rough around the edges, but the food is good, and if you need your diner "fix", especially late at night or in the wee hours of day, this is a great go-to place.

Yelp
love this place, neighbourhood staple. Food is great, usually pretty fast too, highlights for us, the guy who works days, think his name is Simon, never a bad thing to say about anyone, he's everywhere all the time. An asset to a busy diner. Great Bennies and sandwiches!

karen s.

Yelp
Had the meatloaf. Salad is no longer included. The fries were lukewarm and the meatloaf flavorless. It is very very hard to mess up meatloaf. Way too expensive for the really bad food.

Yelp
Just your average diner on Main Street. Has a cute nostalgic feel. Went on a Sunday afternoon, no lineup. Had to leave a name and number and take a pump of hand sanitizer. Got seated promptly and scanned QR code for menu. I ordered a coffee (which was refilled without asking, so that was great) and the double Benny's with chorizo sausage ($15). Served on English muffins with hash browns. Quite basic and simple - the hollandaise was a little too thick and the eggs were a tad overdone. Still tasted yummy and did the job.

Abran B.

Yelp
Food was incredible. Simon was an absolute gem and helped out myself and my friends visiting the area and Squamish. He gave us a full breakdown of the great spots to hit complete with a written list of attractions and instructions. Can't recommend this diner enough!

Yelp
I went to Lucy's Diner for a late night fare. 8 hours later, I'm still thinking about the sad, dry chicken in my sandwich. If you're looking to travel back in time and feel the 1950s nostalgia - Lucy's Diner is great. If you're looking to travel back in time, feel the 1950s nostalgia and eat good food - please continue searching. I really love vintage diners, and I held my expectations high. Perhaps a little too high. I ordered the Club Sandwich ($14.50) and although I'd like to say I enjoyed it, I'd be lying to myself and the $14.50 I paid. The sandwich was a triple decker. It had layers of bacon (not crispy) stacked on chicken (very dry), topped with lettuce and tomato. The best thing on my plate was the fry sauce. And yes, you will be full. My final verdict: you can find better food for a better price elsewhere. My diner adventures continue and I shall keep everyone updated. Here's to one less person trying dry chicken because I've already done that for you. xx Ren

Yelp
I have probably driven or transited past Lucy's Eastside Diner many hundreds of times and I can not believe I have never been here previously. Read a few recent reviews and as had a craving for a burger, off to Lucy's we headed. Love the space and the music...50's style diner with 50's music. And we came for the burger combo which included fries and a mikshake for $15...yeah crazy price. Plenty of options for the 'shakes and I opted for the chocolate. The shakes were before us in minutes and the burger and fries shortly after...great service. I enjoy the burger, fries and the milkshake....I was soooo full after finishing the 'shake. I commented on this to our server who mentioned Uncle Grants Eating Challenge: 6 burger patties, 6 slices of cheese, 12 pieces of bacon with pulled pork built on two grilled cheese sandwiches served with mac'n cheese and milkshake. Finish in 20 minutes and its free. And our server stated each day someone attempts this feat....crazy. Glad I was not there to witness but would want to see the final product. It was a very positive food experience and happy to recommend Lucy's Eastside Diner. PS. And its open 24 hrs a day.

Yelp
I've driven by the place on my way to work many times and it always looked like a great place to try. We decided to head there for a quick lunch. Checked out the menu and the Grant Marshall burger looked like the one for me... I'm a sucker for a fried egg (on anything but especially a burger) as well as bacon. Overall, a very solid burger with fresh crisp veg. Not mind-blowing but a solid burger that I enjoyed. Had the poutine which was quite typical and great to be able to get a shake as a combo. We also had the Philly cheesesteak and it was good. Nothing to write home (except it is online) but overall a solid dining experience. I'd come back but there are better places in the neighbourhood to try.

Yelp
Eclectic, retro, divey, you get the idea! The interior is fantastic and probably the original, which I hope never changes. I came here with my mom for brunch and we ordered the All day breakfast. Your choice of two eggs, bacon, ham or sausage, toast and hash browns, the square ones that are crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside! The coffee was good, not watery like most diners, the food was made fresh and you get service with a big grin! Nothing out of the ordinary but a fun place to visit and enjoy the interior spaces! The tables are tiny but the stools by the counter is such a novelty, I'll try lunch for a burger sitting there next time.

Yelp
A place that brings you back to 50s when you open the door Not even love their burger with 4oz beef patty but also their interior design Love their customer service as well!! Super friendly and humour~ :)

Yelp
We tried to come here a couple of weeks ago but it was super busy so we tried again this past weekend. I had the pulled pork on kaiser. I can taste the alcohol in the sauce initially but it dissipates after a few bites. Ordered onion rings on the side mainly because my companion was 'pressuring' me to. It was good. I haven't tried enough items on their menu to decide if I love this place or not but what I had wasn't bad.

Yelp
Decent pancake. Simple American pancake nothing crazy special but it's tasty and super soft (great for your sweet cravings or a late night snack). Was 24hrs but due to Covid it's usually only opened till 3AM (but that's good enough in Canada, right? Haha) some staffs are more polite and some are cold and semi rude. Some are overworked so it's understandable, it's a small place with quite a bit of takeout orders sometimes. Some street parkings and walkable to bus stops as well. The portion isn't big and the price is alright. I do wish the friend chicken was less or no bones. There wasn't much meat at all. Basically a big bite of two medium bites of chicken and that's it. The other half is basically bones

Nepewisk G.

Yelp
They'll charge you 18% gratuity and won't tell you, which is illegal :) Was here with 3 friends and ran into a couple more while waiting for a table. We ended up sitting NEXT to eachother and in the end, our server put an 18% gratuity on all of our bills and DID NOT TELL US. I'm a server myself, you need to tell the party when you charge gratuity. We all ended up tipping on top of the gratuity because we didnt realize it was added in the first place. (we all had a few drinks that night and just didn't realize because we didnt expect it) The service wasn't good nor bad, it was basic and could have been better considering the fact that she finessed a ton of money that wasn't necessarily deserved. I've only been to Lucy's a couple times but I don't think I'll be returning any time soon, due to the greedy and lazy nature of my last experience.

Guerric H.

Yelp
Pretty good as far as diner food goes! Not the best I've had in town (the pulled pork could do with a bit more flavour and a less mushy texture, for instance), but overall you get a hearty meal at a good price, and the vibe is on point. Overall the menu is quite varied, and you can add all kinds of sides to just about anything. I do want to come back and try a few more items, particularly their chorizo poutine. Worth mentioning that the boozy milkshakes shakes are simply huge, and they taste great, so if you're into that sort of thing, definitely try one when you're here! The staff are really nice too, and the 24-hour opening is a big plus for being reliably accessible; they seem to generally be open on holidays as well. So if you're looking for some simple but good diner fare that you know is going to be open no matter when you're stopping by, this is a solid place to go.

Yelp
Open 24/7 and has a retro vibe. This place is great to shit down with friends and have an average meal. The meals are simple and basic, but at 2am it's something better than drive through. They have a selection of retro themed drinks. It's looks are if you took retro and put some grunge on it from wear and tear. Would recommend if a friend was in the area for a light bite.

Yelp
Normally I am quite happy to dine at Lucy's as it's consistent and quick. It's a good place to go when you're craving some comfort food or something deep fried, and the boozy shakes are great. Today I visited here with a friend and was very shocked by the server we had. When I went in, he did not greet me, but instead yelled "For here or to go?" He did not seat us but rather said I can sit wherever. He seemed very disinterested in serving us and threw things on the table rather than place them (cutlery and straw). He did not make small talk or act polite, instead spoke with a monotonous voice and left our table before I could ask him for some coffee. He did not ask to take our drink order nor did he check in on us during our meal. When I was able to order my coffee, he placed the cup on our table in such a way that it spilled and he just walked away. I want to be clear it was not overly busy at the restaurant. I was disappointed and surprised by this occurrence as typically the service there is quite good. I was very off put by his demeanour. It is things like this that truly hurt my opinion of a restaurant and make me second guess returning in the future.

Yelp
Ordered late night takeout from here and it was really good! I got their chicken strips and fries and when it came it was still hot and the fries were still so so crispy! Very straight to the point, good chicken strips. They gave me a hamburger sauce (I think) but it tasted AMAZING with the chicken and fries, I absolutely loved that.

Yelp
Two polar opposite experiences here. Clear illustration why wait staff experience / attitude is so important and kinda the theme of the other reviews here and on Facebook. First time fantastic! The dark haired girl serving later on at night was attentive, funny and welcoming. The food was great too and an awesome boozy shake. 5 stars for the first time Why we came for a second time. However second time VERY different. Awful! Guy with bleached white bob hair this time, seemed disgruntled and couldn't be bothered in general. Immediately felt an unwelcome vibe as soon as we walked in at 5.10pm. Just had very pissed off attitude and had music up loud. With his initial greeting nearly turned right around and walk out. Didn't go through order options, barely spoke when taking orders, delivering food basically threw food and cutlery on table. Food was ok but maybe the customer service experience tainted it this time around. He really shouldn't be in a customer service role. First time in Canada I didn't leave a tip. 1 star for second time. 5pm on a Thursday we were only ones in the place too Averaging out at 3 stars ‍

Yelp
Ok so i ordered a Philly cheesesteak from the place last night and I got to say it was by far the most distasteful , boring , 0 flavour in the sandwich where you have to literally rely on the garlic mayo (which makes no sense) to add any sort of flavour . I grew up in new jersey and I have had some of the best cheesesteaks money can by . This place i don't care how far north ya are or how far west you are its all about the ingredients and how you cook it all. The bread was soggy not toasted the meat looked like something from dog food . Rib Eye is the cut for it . if it was prime rib it was deff some fake stuff they got from a back of a truck or rat meat . It was also bland . Add some salt and pepper to it . The cheese .... There was barely any . Add more go nuts it's a Philly cheesesteak for a reason . Onions? where were they ? I didn't see much to add any sort of flavour on a 6 inch sandwich ... A cheesesteak is a long, crusty roll filled with thinly sliced sautéed rib-eye beef and melted cheese. the general definition of a cheesesteak ... come on now do the Philly cheesesteak right or don't do it at all.

Yelp
Dropped in to Lucy's to try the burger and shake special, with fries. The shake arrived quickly, filled to the brim of the silver container - a generous dollop of whipped cream on top of a mass of ice cream and general deliciousness. The burger arrived. Fries super crispy and tantalizingly delicious. Nice touch serving the goopy stuff on the side. Good taste in the burger, bun nicely toasted. So, I finished the shake and fries and took the burger home. The shake was too darn good! Returned the next morning with a pal - for cherry pie with an enormous serving of ice cream for me. Chicken strips and fries for my pal. Lots of fresh, fragrant coffee for each of us. My first visit I did notice a lot of cleaning happening. All hard surfaces were being wiped down, tables were clean, floor swept. Bonus points for reading the reviews that commented negatively on general cleanliness - Lucy's seems to have taken note. I will return to sample more of the menu. I am strictly a day time customer. Noticed lots of folks from the 'hood enjoying mac'n'cheese and meat loaf. Situated in the heart of Mount Pleasant, on Main Street. Lots of paid street parking, good transit. Check out the murals!

Yelp
It's a small restaurant with 50-60's decor on Main Street. It's diner style with some comfort foods they served. I wasn't plan to go there for brunch, however, we're a bit in rush and saw no one line up at Lucy's. That's why we gave it a try. The service was slow, coffee was cold and awful! The breakfast just like defrosted instant food. May be they open 24 hours, that's why they don't need to sever better food?

Yelp
4 reasons why I love Lucy's: 1. It's open 24 hours. It's one of the very few spots in Vancouver that is open 24/7 and I have yet to take full advantage of that. 2. Just the entire diner overall. It's a classic old school diner with big booths, a vibrant bar that takes up pretty much the entire diner, and an eating challenge. On the wall there is a "Wall of Fame" for those who have completed the challenge and a "Wall of Shame" who have unfortunately been defeated by the challenge. Unsurprisingly, the Wall of Shame is much larger than the Wall of Fame. I don't think I could ever do it, but I'd love to see someone have a go at it! 3. Holy moly, the food. I got the guacamole grilled cheese with bacon (as per our server, Matt's recommendation), upgraded my side to a poutine, and a strawberry milkshake. The full on diner experience. And oh man was this meal an experience. It's a good thing that I didn't eat at all beforehand, because this meal filled me up till 8 PM that evening. The poutine was some of my favourite I've tried in a while - the fries perfectly crispy and the gravy made just right. And the guacamole grilled cheese was absolutely delicious. No other words need to be said. 4. The service is prompt and very relaxed, which is what I'd expect from a diner. Our server, Matt took great care of us and made sure to check on us every so often. It wasn't that busy, but he was the only front of house staff member working. I'm pretty surprised with some of the negative reviews on here. My expectation was fairly lowered when I walked in here, but I left with a full belly and an awesome experience.

Brian M.

Yelp
Don't go here, period. Prices raised 4 dollars since last week, but quality has stayed the same. Only thing that explain that much inflation is either a child's 5th birthday party or the Soviet Union invading the west. All jokes aside I'm speechless. 4 dollars for drip coffee at a diner? What's next? 2 dollars per refill? Spend your money and time across the street at kafkas for a better deal.

Yelp
Very limited on space inside. There aren't any tables for a family of four, you could sit at the counter on the bars tools. When we went there was only one server. The place got very busy while we were there and with only one server it took forever to get her attention for something as small as a water refill. My boyfriend wanted to do the challenge but we were told they were too low on burger patties and couldn't make it. But yet we saw plenty of people order burgers. Maybe more people have completed the challenge than they expected and they didn't wanted to give the meal for free? As the substitute the server recommended he order the Ian burger. He thought it was very good. Loaded with a lot... sausage, egg, and chili. For the kids we ordered pancakes and the grilled cheese sandwich. Kids really loved their food. I ordered broccoli and cheese soup and poutine. Poutine was excellent. Soup was ok, I wouldn't order it again though. Overall I think the food here is 5 star worthy. But I took off a star for the slow service and lack of space to sit as a family.

Yelp
5 years ago I'd have given Lucy's 5 stars. I'm not sure what's changed there but my recent late night experience was so sad I feel I have to write about it. Before the other day I would have recommended this place to anyone, anytime of day. I popped in for a late night milkshake and some pancakes. 2 Pancakes were a cold dense flattened pile of disappointment. The milk shake was just that. Shaken milk. No ice cream. For $10 that's a slap in the face. I hope this was just a one off night. But until I know for sure, it's one star from me.

Polina T.

Yelp
Ordered a delivery from Lucy's! I got a Lola's fav burger with a special request "no cream cheese" as I am very lactose intolerant. When I opened the box, first of all I saw the burger ingredients spread all over the box, and guess what, a huge portion of cream cheese. The burger looked like I got a bunch of ingeredients and have to assemble it myself. I removed most of the creamcheese however this was still upsetting because even a little bit of dairy is not okay for my body. The patty came in small pieces so it was difficult to put it back together and eat it as a whole. The taste was okay considering all other ingredients included. I don't know if that it a usual thing for this place or is it because it is not worth it to provide a good quality customer service as it was an Uber delivery. But hopefully, this message gets the needed attention and they would be more attentive to their customers.

Jeff D.

Yelp
Came here the other day to give it a shot because of all the reviews I've heard of the place but was disappointed in the service along with the food. I ordered the uncle Momo burger and it lacked any flavour. The beef patty was bland and the only thing that gave it any hope was the lack of bbq sauce that they put on it. Overall it wasn't the greatest and for the value, there are other places in the area that can get you a better burger. As for our server, he was all over the place. He took my order, and when it came to my wife placing her order, he left for another table before she could get her order in. Very rude if you ask me......if I could give this place zero stars I would, but I'll settle for 1.

Yelp
My go to spot for satisfying cheap late night comfort food. The variety of breakfasts is great (I usually grab the pulled pork pancakes) and the staple of any diner, the milkshakes, are top notch. Staff is very pleasant and it's a really laid back atmosphere. I've never seen it to busy, usually a few people at the bar studying and a couple people sharing a late night milkshake. What more do you need from a diner? I miss it already. Burger + shake combo is a good deal, sub for Mac and cheese for the ultimate experience.

Yelp
Been frequenting Lucy's for sometime now. Wouldnt be going if the service, and food was up to snuff. Service? Thumbs up. Simon's shift is always +ve. Food? Well some constructive criticism for the cook. Your Benny's.... Soft means soft (ie. runny...not a hard yolk). Benny's have always been soft unless requested. I'm no red seal connoisseur but that's the general consensus. Last 2 times there for breakie, eggs have been near hard-boiled solid, meaning dry, no runny yolk at all. This last visit, I had to ask for soft......came out ok....much better than the previous 2 visits. Hollandaise sauce for the Benny's?: 1) why is this cook of theirs SO skimpy on this sauce. Hardly enough sauce to even cover the small egg on top, let alone the english muffin below....everytime..... This time I asked for an extra serving of hollandaise after being plated. No pics for this review because I dont need to embarrass them anymore for a simple fixable fault?? (Maybe next time??) As for the sauce itself, Mr cook, you need to work on it. Way too runny and needs more to it. (Again, skimping on the key ingredients?) Your benny's photo posted doesnt even represent what was plated in my last previous visits. (As an example. You display more hollandaise sauce that what was truly served.) Pancakes with pulled pork and scrambled eggs: Just enough scrambled eggs to fit a 2 1/2-3oz tea cup. (Looked like Mr. cook scrambled a batch of eggs and served what's left in the batch?) Maybe family run management takes a hint? 2 1/2 stars only because service is stellar. Until next time, we'll see improvement changes, if any.

Yelp
This place goes out of its way to be a retro diner in its decor and atmosphere and I respect it. They serve food that you could make yourself with a bit of effort but you didn't because you're hungover. I highly recommend the pulled pork pancakes if you can get over the fear of ordering them- They were delicious and a novel culinary experience for me.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of diners, and I won't lie, I saw this one on one of those "top 10 breakfast" lists that Vancity Buzz seems to repeatedly post week after week. Also won't lie that I was originally hoping to try Jethro's, but damn...any line that goes out the door is a huge turn off for me, so I decided to try here instead. I ordered the Three Egg Carnivore Omelet (10.00). The omelet consists of three eggs, chorizo sausage, sweet fried onions, Monterey Jack Cheese, and mushrooms. I really like the use of the sweet onions here as the crunchiness and sweetness balanced out the saltiness from the cheese and egg. The potatoes were crispy, and lightly salted as well. One thing that stuck out to me was that nothing was greasy! Would definitely come back in the future to try their burgers and shakes!

Yelp
Ordered Cinnamon French Toast & the Benny's. Both are below average. Can't really taste cinnamon in the toast.

Yelp
We were in town for just a short time and Lucy's was within walking distance of our airbnb. We saw the 3 star rating on yelp and were a little skeptical, but the pictures of food looked great so we tried it out -- we are so glad we did! This place is tiny, and we'd seen on yelp that it wasn't good for groups, but we headed over 6 strong anyway, knowing we may be split up. We got lucky and ended up getting 6 seats at the bar. Simon was a lovely human and great waiter. The place was packed completely full and the only other waitress on shift was being trained by him. He was attentive, informative, friendly, and funny. We saw other customers being rude to him because of the wait time (not his fault) and the size of the restaurant (not his fault) and then overheard someone berate him with curses and insults when they tried to call in to make a huge to-go order and he told them they couldn't accommodate it at the time. I think it's obvious when they make it clear that a gratuity will be placed on to-go orders that are more than 10$ that they can't do large orders -- their kitchen is too small to keep up! He was calm, kind, & respectful in response, even when they called back again to complain more. The food was delicious, atmosphere was cute, & service was great.

Yelp
Over the years the quality of food here has slipped a bit. It does not mean the food is horrible, but just not what it once was. We wouldn't go out of our way anymore for Lucy's, but more of a place to go eat and wind down after a night of drinking. If it does get busy, be prepared to wait and the service can be slow.

Yelp
As Richmond Dennys is closed for renos, and the Dennys on SW Marine was gross, I drove into Vancouver and hit Lucy's. Good thing I did. It was great! I had a vanilla shake, which was full of vanilla-ey goodness. Not too thick. Not too thin. Juuuust right. For my meal, I had the Club sandwich. It had chicken, instead of turkey, and oh so much lovely chicken. The bacon was super crispy, which was fabulous, since I forgot to specify that. If I don't, bacon comes limp and sad. I'm tired of picking it out when people won't listen. This was wonderful in its crispy, salty, deliciousness. I subbed onion rings for fries, and what a blessing on a plate. Combined with their yummy fry sauce, I was in bad breath heaven. Since I wasn't promptly going to be macking on anyone, I was in a state of bliss. Even the pickle was sublime. I finished with a black cherry soda for dessert. So lovely. If it weren't for the tiny location, this would've been 5 stars. Even the music was on point. They really need to expand the space. If Richmond doesn't reopen soon, Craig will see my mug again. But even then, it will not be my first and last time attending. You will see me again, just hopefully at a more reasonable hour. 3am isn't a shining moment for anyone.

Yelp
I will preface that both times I have visited I have not been 100% sober, but regardless Lucy's is a great late night diner. Their plates are big, and the food is great. Their milkshakes are always delicious and solidify that classic diner vibe!

Yelp
I've ordered from this restaurant several times-one of my favourite to order take-out from. However, I recently ordered and one of the dishes -poutine was about 1/3 of the typical size it is. For $10 this size is absolutely ridiculously small. I've order the same dish about 5 times before. While saying that, the gravy did taste different and better so maybe they've made a change. Regardless I think the portion size should be increased a bit as the value is no longer good. Disappointed.

Yelp
I love Lucy's! Lucy's is my favourite diner in the city. It's no nonsense, with decent food and a great atmosphere. And it's 24 HOURS! This is the kind of place that you decide to go to when you're slightly buzzed off of two beers, with 4 of your friends and one who's vegan so McDonald's is out of the question. What else is close and yummy and open? Lucy's! Duh! Their shakes are incredible and they always play the best music. The inside decor is fifties-cool and the staff is always accommodating. They aren't over the top polite, and usually always visibly tired, but goddamn do I respect them. (They wouldn't be so tired if Vancouver's minimum wage would be heightened, but alas!) All in all, Lucy's is a gem. I will continue to search for something like Lucy's in every city I visit.

Yelp
Lucy's is a fine place to go when you're craving something else besides the typical fast food chain. It's unfortunate to see that they've cheapened out on one of their best features, which was their milkshakes. I used to see them pour this ice cream mix, which I can attest, is the best damn stuff ever (my old workplace used it too for our frappes) but now they've settled for soft serve which results in a generic McD's tasting shake. As well, I was really hoping for some nice panfried shredded hashbrowns, but their version of it is basically huge deep fried chunks, french fries...anyways. Again, it's a decent place, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
Lucy's Eastside Diner leaves me wanting and expecting more. Maybe it's cuz of it cool layout.. I guess walking in I was expecting more than Lucy's could deliver. I shared a think strawberry milk shake with my gf. It's really good and really rich! Thumbs up for the milk shake for sure. Sadly we got the last one. They ran out of shake ingredients... I had the Mac and cheese meatloaf hoagie. It was alright but nothing to write home about. To tell the truth it tasted kind of bland. I would rather have paid more if Lucy could have upped the meatloaf in my sandwich! Overall, Lucy's is ok. Maybe I'll come back and order something else and change my mind about this place!

Yelp
Early breakfast before a busy day in the summer heat. One breakfast burrito with bacon in the burrito and the other, a double Benny - soft as it should be, tomato and avocado and smoked salmon smothered in hollandaise. Great friendly service, good music to start the day.

Yelp
This place was great for breakfast. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They were so accommodating of dietary restrictions and made suggestions to make my choice even more enjoyable. The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon were very tasty. We were there on a winter morning and the room was quite chilly, inspire of the Palm Springs posters. Didn't try the milk shakes but there is another visit in the not to distant future.

Yelp
Friendly service, awesome smiles. Great diner food, I had the Ian Marshall burger.. Taste awesome. Only drawback was my bottom bun got soggy from the chili so I couldn't hold my burger but that was just luck of the draw. My fiance had the triple Benny, Hollandaise was tasty and the Benny great. I gotta try their milkshakes next time.

Yelp
They treat food delivery courrier's rudely, but if you are their customer, i guess you are okay then...
