"Luda Bistro, Ljubljana by Multipraktik. Luda means Crazy. And that stands for crazy good food by the crazy cute chefs - Urška and Luka. A self-taught couple, always curious and totally dedicated to making the best possible and inventive food for every pocket. There are two first courses, three main dishes and two deserts to choose from. The menu changes every two weeks and comes at a price range from 9 EUR up to 22 EUR. Not surprisingly, they also serve some fascinating local wines. Give them a call and reserve a table."

Portions super small, still hungry after appetizer and main course. Tries to be innovative, but fails with mediocre combinations. Fish, sour cream and strawberries aren't the best combinations. Service was attentive and good. Had to wait 40 minutes between appetizer and main course though. I would recommend the pistachio soup tough, was the best innovative dish they offered.

The meal was generally pretty good and quite reasonably priced. Food is quite traditional Slovenian and quite unique. For starters we had prawn ceviche with fennel salad and marinated hake. The hake was actually the stand out dish for me. For mains we had panfried mullet with grilled leek, this was a bit salty. We also had mussels gratin in a tomato based sauce, which was pretty good. Dessert was a kind of brownie with sour cream. It was average.

Blown away! From start to finish this was perfection! Starting with the food, you will find yourself discover flavours you‘ve never tasted before. The kitchen obviously does an exceptional job but also the service personnel is extremely professional, efficient and friendly! They also offer an amazing and local wine list including orange wine, which has a delicious earthy taste. High quality ingredients and an amazingly skilled staff makes me want to rate this restaurant with 10 instead of 5 stars. The prices are fair too, which makes me love them even more as they haven’t turned into a pretentious, overpriced restaurant. When in Ljubljana check this place out!

With a seasonal menu that adapts to the gastronomic region, a young, dedicated team of culinary professionals, and a welcoming atmosphere, Luda has everything going for it. A restaurant located in quiet part of Ljubljana, Luda emerges from the principle of serving organic, local food paired with an appropriate regional wine. Luda offers diners two options: either a three course or five course meal, both of which are a great value. My friend chose the five-course meal, while I went for the three, to taste a wide variety of the menu. While the menu is fixed and you are offered a choice between the two options, each dish is presented beautifully and creatively crafted. You can see the thought and care that goes into each item on the menu. We both chose blood pudding with caramelized apple, mozzarella and radicchio as a starter, and it got my taste buds jumping. The tart apples, the bite of the cheese, and the bitter radicchio were perfect accompaniments to the blood pudding. My friend also sampled the squid with carrots, onions, and chives, and found it to be superb. Her next course consisted of risotto with king prawns, pumpkin seeds, and feta cheese, which I will confess to stealing a bite (or 2) of. For the main course, I enjoyed a grass-fed angus beef, with porcini mushrooms, kale puree and buckwheat. I scraped the plate clean. My friend found comfort in pork neck with corn, sage, and grapefruit, the colors vibrant and rich. By the time we moved onto dessert, I didn’t know how either of us could eat another thing. Then the waiter placed a chocolate mousse with orange cake, orange foam, and crunch caramel in front of me and it all made sense again. Delectable. My companion finished with a baked pear with cream and rosemary ice cream, and had enjoyed it so much I didn’t even get a chance to sneak a taste! Luda is the gastronomic gem of Ljubljana!

I like the fancy and warm atmosphere. Food taste great. €22 for 3 courses dinner. Just the portion of each dish is pretty small.

Overrated. We ordered pate and a little bread and butter for starters. The pate was passable but came with these extremely buttery breadcrumbs. They didn't fit at all with the meal, not sure what the chef was going for. The butter and radishes were terrible! Plain radishes with cold butter in a bowl? Very disappointing. For the mains we ordered prawn pasta and octopus. They were both delicious. The octopus was perfectly prepared and the pasta was interesting with a range of creamy flavours. Service was ok. Atmosphere could be improved a bit too. Overall, I don't think I'd go back.

I came here a couple of years ago, and really enjoyed their modern take on the ingredients. It changes with the seasons, and has a relatively small menu. They used to have this cold cauliflower and fish soup, which was both refreshing, flavourful and not to heavy on the palate. Modern gourmet food with a very affordable price tag.

Cosy place which is located a bit out of the city centre. The dishes were refined and portions were moderate to small. We had a Slovenian red wine with our dishes which was the best we tasted during our visit in Slovenia.
