I’m not rating places often (or at all), but this place just got me. I’ve been in quite a few Michelin & equivalent; and with no doubts, this place just compete with them !! We had the all restaurant for us, which is quite amazing for a starter. Very nice ambient music. Service was TOP (no other words), I’ve rarely seen a waiter paying so much attention to details. Food was just FANTASTIC (and I weight my words), it it simple, but complex at the same time. Ingredients are fresh and prepared in a Mexican style. I highly & truly enjoyed this and believe it deserves more attention. And btw, the location is just fantastic. It’s in a small alley, hidden from the main street, surrounded by handcraft shops. Very cute. PS: I’m a big fan of French/Italian cuisine. My review may be bias by this ☺️

This is a gorgeous outdoor patio, peaceful & elegant with lovely service. We went on a Sunday for brunch & had the place to ourselves. My dish was like an eggs Benedict on sopas with avocado sauce & delicious. My husbands meal was heavy & not as enjoyable. The juices tasted fresh squeezed. We returned for dinner & had the same experience: beautiful setting, friendly -elegant service, but the food was uneven. The chef sent out little “bites” of many layers on a tiny sopa. We enjoyed it so much we asked to order a full order but were told it was unavailable. The yellowtail sashimi in coconut cream app was fresh & very good. Unfortunately the lamb was over-stewed, and a mess to eat. We’re all about using fresh tortillas to eat with, but the lamb juices? grease? dripped everywhere & made an unpleasant mess. The octopus / bone marrow “pizza” wasn’t a success either. Again, very heavy w/ the marrow overpowering all other flavors. The base was so hard that we could neither cut it with a knife or comfortably bite off apiece. We will return again for the beautiful setting & ambiance.

Breakfast was delicious. The Benito's huevos were my favorite but everything was great. We ordered three entres and shared for 2 people. It was the perfect amount and we are big eaters. Healthy, fresh food and perfectly cooked organic eggs. We returned for a late dinner. We had the tuna tartar, octopus, and lamb tacos. Shared everything (which I recommend if you enjoy exploring new and delicious foods). Again, all the dishes were perfect. The octopus was a real treat because it was unlike anything you could find in the U.S. The entres were impressive with vibrant colors. A truly beautiful meal. The ambiance was lovely too. Stunning art in the near-by gallery, warm lighting, and comfortable seating in the bar area.

Google
Lovely atmosphere and absolutely delicious food! I tried my first sope here, with a fried egg, avocado, pumpkin seeds, and coriander and it was just heavenly. With the breeze blowing through the outdoor eating area I’ve never felt so relaxed. The waitress was adorable and very attentive.

Google
The place is very nice, the food is really different, recipes are really creative. The flavour was something incredible. I give 4 stars because the portions are very small and the menu is very short, not a lot of options. Do try the octopus and the meat.

We just spent five weeks in Baja California and, being foodies, we spent a lot of that time searching for good food. We even forked out ridiculous money for a meal at Enrique Olvera's Manta Restaurant at the quite spectacular The Cape, A Thompson Hotel and it was a waste of money and such a disappointment. Only the location excelled. We found lots of "good food" but we only had one extraordinary meal and that was at Lugareño Cocina. Why don't more people know about this restaurant? Perhaps because of the location, which is rather betwixt and between, tucked against the main road, in the shadow of the Hyatt Place Los Cabos, but it is a beautiful restaurant set in the courtyard of a complex of artsy shops and galleries. The service was exceptional: the staff made you feel welcome and special without being cloying. They were vigilant and would quietly appear to assist, for example, if you started to get up; if they noticed you were a little cold, blankets would be offered or the propane heater would be quietly adjusted. Otherwise they were completely unobtrusive. The space felt private but if you needed them they would appear. Truly some of the classiest and most hospitable service I have ever had. The food: Really everything we tasted was delicious, interesting, carefully and creatively prepared and presented. I have never tasted such tender tasteful chicken. The only thing we weren't amazed by was the barbacoa de cordero, which was a fine traditional cazuela style stew but we didn't think it did justice to lamb. The flavour of the meat was lost in the stew style and flavouring. It was delicious but just didn't transcend the norm the way the rest of the food did. This is the only place we ate where we felt we were eating food created by artistic, talented and devoted chefs. I finally remembered to take pictures when they brought the two desserts, which the four of us shared. Both were great: my particular favourite was the Granizado de nopal - YUM! Our only regret is that we found this restaurant at the very end of the stay, otherwise we would have gone back to taste everything on the menu and then again and again for our favourites. Probecho!

Google
Thoughtful food and probiotic beverages with excellent service and a wonderfully artistic patio setting. A real treat. The best resturant we've found in San José del Cabo.

Google
Beautiful outdoor restaurant in a a garden setting. Food is unique and flavorful. Dishes are small portions, we really enjoyed the Benitos and Grilled oysters, however the chilaquiles were uninspiring and got charged $2 for avocado. The total came out to $715 pesos which at the current conversion rate would be $36, however with their conversion came out to $42. A $7 conversion difference is ridiculous and requested to charge my card in pesos.

Yelp
Solid place for time with friends & great drinks! Service was good as well. You'll have a good time!

Yelp
The best fermented pineapple juice I have ever had. Well, actually, the only fermented pineapple juice I have ever had. Courtyard dining at its best, every direction you look is art. My girlfriends and I ordered four Mexican breakfast in different forms but they are just very clever ways of making tacos into breakfast items. I have recently remet up with my girlfriends who gushed about our breakfast expedition at this place. Everything was wonderful but the most pronounced characteristic about this breakfast menu is how something so simple can taste this good. The concept is easy to replicate - taco with bacon and eggs make is breakfast and not lunch but the execution is difficult to pull it off at home because you can't get the ingredients as good as here, plus the avocado is way better Mexico. I took lots of photos about the food but I could not take the ceviche or taco home. So I finally tried to replicate the breakfast taco recently at a friend's house and it was a total winner. Imitation is the best form of flattery. This restaurant is slightly out of the way but it is worth the short walk. On the way to the restaurant, we also found great massage place and a supermarket where I picked up some Kinder eggs for friends' children back in San Francisco. Four brunches, four drinks, several appetizers and two desserts set us back $75 for the four of us. What a steal! No wonder it took me weeks before I feel justified to eat out back at home again.

Yelp
First remember that we ate here in early August- low season for Cabo - and on a Monday night, it was a night where you could have a great conversation with the host, servers and even take a photo with one of their talented chefs. We ENJOYED ourselves. Let me get to the point, Lugareno's is one of those places you would wish to have two steps from your home. Yes, the decor reminds you of shopping in for antiquated trinkets at some hipster run Lowes, BUT you should simply sit down and order that de-stressed Frida Kahlo weather vein and READ the menu. The night we were there we feasted on a dish of pillow-soft maiz/corn dumplings called "Chochoyotas" - reminiscent of a great gnocchi - in a braised Huitlecoche and white corn reduction. They brought us a small bracer of pulpo and watermelon ceviche that they added shavings of a 10 year old farmer's cheese. The salt from the cheese balanced the tang of the citrus marinade. It was small and swift and I wanted more. Our main dishes began with a seared Grouper fillet with roasted cauliflower on a bed of this intensely seasoned mole named after the chef's mother. I had carnitas with handmade tortillas the meat was perfectly seared on the edges while remaining sweet and moist. We finished with a dollop of Pineapple "Tepache" ice cream in a bed of Nopales/Cactus granita with a drizzle of mint marmalade. Clean, sweet without clinging and just the touch to a wonderful meal. I even tried a Blue Corn Beer I had never heard of... These guys are trying make me feel special. I would Highly suggest heading to Lugareno. For those of you caught in the pergatory of Resort Row or Cabo "San" Culture, get a car or a taxi to this place, you won't be disappointed. The chefs are working hard to bring something exciting to San Jose Cabo, please make sure that they will be there when I return.

Yelp
Los Cabos might be considered lacking a bit compared to Cabo San Lucas in the culinary department, but there are some real gems if you seek them out, and Lugareno Cocina is one of those gems with a fantastic atmosphere, great service, and a well executed menu. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Both the service and atmosphere at Lugareno Cocina are excellent, with great service in a fantastically unique atmosphere that's just off of the main stretch in Los Cabos. The servers are quick and attentive, and English isn't a problem. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Prices at Lugareno Cocina are a bit high, and my small Tostada came in at 210 MXP, which translates to $11.00. The medium portioned French Toast was far more reasonably priced at $8.00 USD for a decent portion. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Both of the brunch dishes were good, and weren't dissimilar from what I could find back in Los Angeles. The tostada was a bit of an odd combo but would be rewarding for someone who likes a combination of carne, guac and tomatoes, and the french toast had everything that you could need. Single Star. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Great service, great atmosphere, good prices and a solid menu - I'd come daily. Star.

Yelp
Never thought I'd be in Cabo, but I got roped in for the holidays. I usually try to eat at local places - a rough prospect in touristy havens - so it was a godsend to end up here. Easily the highlight of the trip. Local ingredients, cold wine and delicious food! Hope to be back some day.

Ston R.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful place, I would say a must see, not necessary to get any food though. The prices were so high, but the atmosphere is worth it I'm sure. Just had a drink and both were delicious, my boyfriend got a popsicle type ice cube in his that looked like a rose quartz! Awesome. Mine just a orange slice but it was still pretty

Yelp
Amazing restaurant in a boho chic space. Such delicious dishes and cocktails. Has their mezcal tasting, grilled oysters, and local fish of the day. A must visit!!

Sarah G.

Yelp
Man, their food is good! We went to the Ashley furniture store and needed to hang out for 30 min so we ate here. It is delish and served so beautifully. I highly recommend! Adding it to my list of favorite Cabo spots.

Kevin D.

Yelp
Delicious, everything was delicious. Extremely hospitable and attentive wait staff. Nice ambiance. Al fresco, under the stars yet patches of cover for sunny days. Very relaxed atmosphere (yet prompt service). Had some incredible lamb.....

Yelp
Lugareño is an extraordinary place to enjoy dinner in San José del Cabo. Don't allow the minimalist menu to deter you. The authentic cuisine was absolutely delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive, and you can't beat the aesthetics of the courtyard/garden. The was by far my favorite meal of the trip.

Melissa U.

Yelp
Great food and service. Delicious food. Must try. Great decor. Nice ambience. Worth the visit.

Kim N.

Yelp
Amazing!! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. The service and atmosphere are just as fantastic as the food. I recommend trying the octopus entree! This place is also great for pictures and a romantic dinner for two. Everything tasted great and they gave us moist towelettes before the appetizer arrived.

Celinna M.

Yelp
This place is absolutely wonderful! The ambiance, service, food, and drink were all perfect. I went during their brunch hour and they accommodated my request for black bean hummus, which wasn't on the brunch menu. Our server, who's name I Wish I could remember, was so attentive and friendly. The drinks I tasted were the Bloody Mary and the hibiscus mojito and they were perfectly made and beautifully presented. I definitely will come here again.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant in Los Cabos! My husband and I were visiting in Cabo for 5 days and we ate there each day, we could not get enough! The design of the restaurant makes you feel as though you have fallen into an old-time Mexican village. There is art work and furnishing on display from Mexican artist throughout the restaurant which offered a very unique vibe. The staff was extremely friendly and personable and also well verse with all the dishes and drinks. The food is authentic Mexican cuisine with artistic flare. My husband and I are pescatarian and we're very pleased with the array of options made available and our friends, who are vegetarian, were able to join us for meals as well because the menu offered vegetarian options too. My husband also uses a wheelchair and the restaurant was accessible, including the bathroom, with ramps all throughout. This was an excellent perk for us because it is not always easy to find wheel chair accessible businesses, particularly when visiting outside the United States. The first meal I had there were the shrimp and fish tacos which were superb! I loved how the tortillas that accompany the tacos are made from different vegetables such as carrot, beets, and poblano peppers. The various colors of the tortillas gave the dish a unique contrast and they were delicious as well. We also had ceviche tostada and the fish is so fresh! I love the citrus flavors used and you can tell that time and thought are put into the unique flavor combinations of each dish. The shrimp and fish ceviche with kiwi that we had on our second visit was a great representation of this artistic and delicious approach to the dishes at this restaurant. We also tried the black turtle bean hummus and my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Not only is the food AMAZING at Lugareño Cocina but the cocktails are out of this world too! The blackened Piña colada is an awesome take on the traditional Piña colada but the pineapple is smoked before being blended into the drink. It's delicious and it will be hard to go back to drinking a traditional Piña colada again. We also tried the 24 which is a cocktail made with fermented pineapple and again our minds were blown! I also was suffering with a sore throat and ordered a hot mint tea which was made with fresh mint and brewed in its purest form with local honey accompanied with it! We absolutely love this restaurant and can't wait to come back to Cabo to eat here again. We are definitely recommending it to all our friends and family who plan to come visit. If you are looking for authentic, flavorful, Mexican cuisine Lugareño Cocina is the place to go!

Yelp
The food, service, and atmosphere were top notch. My wife and I started with the abalone appetizer which was very tasty however the portion was just a bit small for two people. My wife had the catch of the day fish with mole, and I had the slow-cooked lamb. Both were excellent. I particularly liked the habanero chili sauce which had some heat and a wonderful smokey flavor. Portions were adequate but not huge. The service was attentive and very helpful with suggestions. Also, we had two small children, and they accommodated us by allowing them to eat pizza we brought with us. The location is very unique. The dining area is in one part of a large courtyard with interesting furniture and artwork all around. We went on a Friday night and it was busy but not crowded. Our bill was around $80 US for two with drinks, one appetizer, two entrees, and dessert. Would have cost a lot more in the states for this type of quality. We are visiting from the states, but we would definitely eat here again.

Brendan F.

Yelp
If you were trying to plan the perfect day in Cabo you would start here for an amazing Mexican Brunch. We have been here 3 times now with each time better than the last. Pour over coffee killer cocktails, oysters, chilequiles, pulpo and more. Super relaxed artisan courtyard and plenty of shade

A D.

Yelp
Impeccable dinner. Great outdoor seating area. Black bean hummus was great. I had the carne Asada which was super tender and delicious (I only wish it were a bigger portion ). Also tried the lamb tacos which were delicious. Everything we tried was good. Table next to us had some good looking salads too. Service was excellent.

S F.

Yelp
Delisioso, absolutely delicious, found this place for breakfast on our way to the airport out of Cabo. Great find beautiful setting, authentic Mexican food, was not expecting this good of food and coffee. Don't take pictures of my food but did take a snap of the fresh pressed coffee I received, probably exceptional place for dinner. Will be back for it

Marta M.

Yelp
WOW. Just wow. This place is amazing!!!!!!! We came to Cabo on vacation and ran across this place on our morning bike ride. The AM menu is amazing!!! We had shrimp tacos, grilled oysters, brioche French toast, benito's poached egg (Benedict) and shredded pork confit. Also cold brews with cream, orange juice, green juice. Everything we had was absolutely incredible!! We were so blown away by the food and service that we came back for the PM menu... and again WOW!! For dinner we have corn kernels "esquites", organic tomato salad, recado negro tempura veggies, slow cooked lamb barbocoa, mussels in salsa verde, 2 beef filets and a couple brownie desserts. Again, the food is incredible!! If any restaurant/chef deserves a Michelin Star, it's this place!

Annie W.

Yelp
My rating is based off the drinks, incredible ambiance, stellar service and nice appetizer they gave us. Although we didn't have dinner, Roberto and Norberto and Preceda were SOoooo sweet and knowledgeable. I learned so much about Mezcal. The space itself is dreamy!

fiona b.

Yelp
This beautiful courtyard restaurant is a hidden gem! We came for brunch on a Monday morning and had the whole place to ourselves. We tried the pulled pork benito's, apple cinnamon and almonds french toast, and pulled pork avocado torta, with a coffee and a pineapple kale juice, all of which were delicious. Our server was spectacular and though his English was not fluent, he made every effort to provide excellent service in English for us. The ambiance was so peaceful and the decor so colorful, it really added to the experience. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Laila S.

Yelp
The place itself is so cute. The food was very good, but sadly they had very little vegetarian options; they did improvise for us though (even though it says in the menu that they wouldn't)

C S.

Yelp
We came here for brunch, and it was so good we came back for dinner! This place was the best part of Cabo. The service is amazing, drinks are good, and food is delicious. My friend got a dish she didn't like and they replaced it at no cost and extremely kindly. Get the tuna picadita!!! Tastiest dinner ever!

Grace V.

Yelp
If you are looking for an authentic experience with a beautiful atmosphere, passion from its staff and owners, marvelous food ,and a meal you will never forget then I would highly recommend a meal at Lugareno Cocina. Atmosphere and Decor 5/5 - The simple architecture of this open air facility is captivating. Pair it with the small details - Lugareno cocina wall mural, hardware pieces, hand crafted flatware and dishes, and unique art -- you feel the Mexican culture bleed from these walls! Food 5/5 - While dining I learned that Luis, the chef, had left Las Ventanas, one of the top resorts in Los Cabos, to continue his passion here. You can clearly taste the passion in his food. His creations are such an amazing mixture of presentation and taste in every bite, and they will be like nothing you've had before, but everything you want more of! Service - 5/5, more than just excellent service, its personalized service. They will take care of you at Lugareno. Drinks - Try the palometa!!!! I have been traveling to cabo for 17+ years now and seen many places come and go. I would tell you if you are looking for a sub-par experience, then keep walking. But if you are looking for an authentic Mexican experience for the family, or a romantic way to celebrate an anniversary, or simply a meal you are looking to remember, take a visit to Lugareno. This is the type of place you are always searching for on Yelp or Trip Advisor, but can rarely find because it is overpowered by the large chains and tourist traps! In one word: Unique!!!

Valerie A.

Yelp
Each dish was expertly prepared. From the appetizer to the dessert EXCELLENT! The Service was intimate and flawless. Alexander our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about every dish and attentive. Each entree was served with such grace and warmth. Rudy the owner was kind enough to share his time and share the exquisite menu ideas and recipes from around the world . My only regret is I didn't meet Thee Chief. My pallet was screaming I was so overwhelmed with each dish I forgot pictures. But the menu changes monthly.

Francisco A.

Yelp
Apparently this place just reopened about a month or so ago and they have done an amazing job... the decor is marvelous! The outside patio was very quiet and romantic. The service was great and very attentive. Everyone we met was very nice and friendly! Now for the food... AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! We ordered the pig head pozole, don't let the name deter you... it was the best pozole I have ever had... the broth was excellent. We also ordered the catch of the day with mole, the fish was tasty! Finally, we ordered the tuna piccadito and we have no regrets... the tuna was full of flavor and the mini tostadas were the best! I recommend that everyone go here for dinner... We're from LA, so the prices were very reasonable! I can't wait to return and try their brunch! I hope that this place stays delicious and I wish them the best of success! PS- try the Minerva pale ale.. an excellent beer!

Diane N.

Yelp
Ambience - AMAZING ! Lanterns, candles, decor and music was on point Food - excellent. Recommend the yellowtail. The portions are smaller so we ended up getting a bunch of dishes and sharing which worked well. I personally liked the lamb tacos too. Dessert was different but good! It your traditional chocolate cakes or flan. One was a sweet potatoes marinaded in mezclan topped with coffee crumble and seeds with a side of yogurt ice cream. Different but good! Note - you can bring your own wine for a $12.50 corking fee but on thursdays it's free! Service - excellent. Very attentive. They even had our large bottle of beers in champagne buckets. I am so glad I did not partake in an all inclusive or else I would have missed this! I'm considering doing my wedding here now.

Ryno J.

Yelp
Brunch, lunch and dinner, you won't be disappointed here. Fresh local ingredients and owners that are working hard to establish themselves. The fresh juices at breakfast are amazing and the cocktails are equally as good later in the day. The berry mojito is super refreshing, and the margs are perfect. The brunch menu hilights for me were the benny and the tamales, but you won't be disappointed with any pick. At dinners it's more tappas/family style dining and again we tried almost everything and there were no losers. The wine list is priced well, and the owner told me he did so to encourage a fun environment, but corkage can also be done for 250 pesos, but on Thursday corkage of one bottle is free!

Chris H.

Yelp
We really wanted to like this place. The 1 star is for the lovely courtyard and good service. The food was, unfortunately, bland, tasteless and very disappointing. The Carne asada was tough and grisly. It was just a piece of tough meat with beef broth poured over it. Literally nothing else on the plate. Although the menu comes across as a "foodie" menu the actual food falls far short.

Bethany F.

Yelp
OH MY is this place a gem. Very unassuming off of the main street, but the courtyard the restaurant is in is so beautiful and tranquil. Staff is sweet, quite and attentive. But the food.....goodness is it amazing. Elevated mexican that so many places try to achieve but never do. We live in San Diego and are no strangers to everything from taco shops to the fancy fair. We were wowed by the flavors and subtleness of this food. We came for breakfast and had the huveo escondido, sope sikil pak and potatoes. All were amazing. The portions are quite modest so if you are hungry order a few things. We can't wait to go back manana.

Erika K.

Yelp
So great we went back a second time! Love the al fresco dining. Food is excellent, presentation is fabulous, portions are small but so delicious it doesn't matter. Feature many Mexican wines. Chef is from Michoacán and does a superb job of combining different textures and flavors.

Brad K.

Yelp
Lugareño was my introduction to the hospitality and the artful design of San Jose. I visited for brunch the first time and was completely blown away buy the quality and presentation of the menu items. The fish and shrimp tacos were delightful. Even the fruit bowl was a work of art! I also had the privilege of meeting the owner who provided some incredible recommendations for my time in San Jose. The food, the atmosphere, the people were so lovely here. I can't wait to return!

Suren M.

Yelp
This has to be the best restaurant in Cabo. The only food I've had in Cabo that was very enjoyable and the ambiance just adds to it. Coming from a food city like LA you become spoiled with great food and service, but this place surpasses a lot of the places in LA. Been here 3 times in 2 days already. When in Cabo, it's a must try!

Alex P.

Yelp
GREAT FOOD. GREAT SERVICE. Felt like a superstar. Their team is well trained and their food was refreshing and delightful. I cannot wait to come back to Los Cabos for a meal at Lugareño!

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Every bite was incredible. This chef is masterful and inspired. Wonderful service in a very cool setting and food "to live for". Hard to pick a favorite but the fresh fish with Mole was SUBLIME!!

Aileen B.

Yelp
Decided to stop in because wanted to get breakfast before grocery shopping. Didn't expect to have the most delicious breakfast ever! This is definitely a place you don't want to miss. The Benito huevos and french toast are fantastic. Will visit again when we come back to SJ del Cabo.

Cat G.

Yelp
What a beautiful hidden gem! It feels like live stumbled across a hidden little village. The wine is local and excellent and the food is delicious. Try the turtle bean hummus for sure! I've dined at a lot of local places here but this is now one of my favorites.

Diane F.

Yelp
Searching for some real food here in San Jose Del Cabo and we found this wonderful gem! The setting is so beautiful and relaxing and our waiter Leo was very attentive. We had a delicious meal of fresh hummus, a vegetarian specialty and the fresh fish- everything was seasonal, made with a creative sense of flavors and combinations. The dessert was outstanding-

Kevin S.

Yelp
WOW wow wow. Gets five stars even though they need hi chairs and booster seats. Your meal will combine the perfect flavors together. Been here twice now and literally two of the best meals I've ever had.

Jenny C.

Yelp
Great food and service. Came here on a monday morning with bachelorette party. Bloody marys is awesome.

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Great place with great views! Definitely get the paella (which is only available on Sundays). The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. It's inside a giant courtyard, a building or two down from the Hyatt. There's only a little temporary sign outside the courtyard entrance so it took us a minute to find. If you need help, call them as the owner speaks perfect English.

Scott R.

Yelp
FIRST VISIT 5 stars! This place is remarkable. Beautiful terrace with seaside breeze and an informal vibe with hip music tracks. The food is focused on local sources, we enjoyed brunch with the chilaquiles, French toast, tortilla soup and mushroom tamales. Delicious every bite. Sweet people, great food, unhurried, a mile walk from our resort, ideal. I totally understand the rave reviews. Keep it up, wow! Thank you! SECOND VISIT 2 stars... :-( My initial review was all excitement and happy-breakfast. My second trip here was for dinner. Candidly, if you're veggie-they do not care about us AT ALL. I had a sad salad, one of just two choices, asked for a side of a veggie from a meat entree, cauliflower purée with truffle oil, they brought about a pathetic two tablespoons to me. As I ordered, I suspected I'd be hungry and asked if they had bread, a potato, something so I'd get full. The waiter returned telling me that I should have called ahead with a special meal request. REALLY, I'm just vegetarian, it's pretty pedestrian. VEGETARIAN. SAD. ABUSIVE REALLY. Left hungry and angry. We came here for our last dinner of this vacation due to the lovely brunch.

Scott M.

Yelp
A beautiful, open-air view of the Sea of Cortez with fantastic food and attentive staff make this a must-do destination for breakfast or lunch when in San Jose. The cafe is situated in the back and upstairs portion of the courtyard at the beautiful and artistic Villa Valentina, just south of Mega on the frontage road. I had a perfect Crab Benedict on gluten-free corn torta and an Americano. Lovely jazz, a nice breeze, and plenty of shade had us lounging longer than planned. I'm looking forward to coming back for their Paella, which is served on Sundays. Prices are very reasonable. Did I mention the view?!

Jason K.

Yelp
Wonderful meal in a beautiful courtyard setting. We were staying at the Hyatt place next door and saw this spot on yelp. So glad we went. You walk down this nicely decorated walkway with benches and chandeliers into a really peaceful patio area with tables and a small bar area. Service was fantastic, helpful and unobtrusive. Menu was contemporary, well thought out and written in both Spanish and English. They brought out an amuse bouche of hummus on a cracker topped with crispy pork. We started with oysters from local waters, some with a classic mignonette and some with a strawberry shaved ice. Both were fantastic but I enjoyed the brightness of the strawberry. We also had a shrimp and scallop aquachile with cilantro, lime and Persian cucumber. Served with crispy chips it was a fresh, bright ceviche type dish with grassy green flavors. My brother and I shared a flank steak dish with cornbread dumplings and bean puree and a braised lamb dish with fresh tortillas. Both were delicious and wonderfully executed. For dessert we had a Cactus granita with pineapple sorbet and fermented pineapple. We also enjoyed some French press coffee. The whole meal was absolutely wonderful from the warm setting and great service to the delicious food and drinks. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Came for breakfast @ 845a before heading to the airport. Seating is an outdoor courtyard that makes you feel like you are truly at someone's garden villa in Tuscany or the countryside of Spain. Decorated so beautifully. I had the waffles with blueberries and creme freche which was good. It comes with really good honey instead of maple syrup. My friend had the avocado toast with poached egg and whole spinach leaves on top. She loved it and said they were generous with the avocado. Wish we didn't have to leave so I could sample more of their menu. Service was excellent.

Yelp
Beautiful place. Outside patio decorated with art. Very, very pleasant. Had dinner tonight. Food was OK. After reading the reviews was expecting more. Had the fish- well done, good mole, very little cauliflower.OK not outstanding. Rather small dish. Husband had the Lamb barbacoa. Again, OK. Not to die for- At 370 Pesos, I was expecting more. The tortillas were outstanding. On the expensive side price wise.

Yelp
We went on a Friday night and had reservations, which were needed. We started with a couple of Pacificos. The waiter suggested that we start with 2-3 items. We ordered the tuna and lobster dishes. The tuna was to die for! So tender and melt in your mouth delicious. It was a hearty serving to share and came with homemade chips to eat it on. They gave us extra chips when needed. Next came the lobster dish. It was a smaller portion of lobster with a tomato sauce on side to pour over the top. Eaten with a spoon and a little harder to share. It had very little flavor and I was a bit disappointed. I tried an imperial stout and was pleased with the flavor. Through another recommendation from our waiter, we ordered the shrimp dish. The mix of lime, cilantro and cucumber was fantastic and so fresh! I definitely would be back for the shrimp or tuna dishes. After another round of Pacificos, they served us these tasty little guava candies. They were so sweet and the texture of fruit roll ups, but square in shape. Very nice casual romantic atmosphere for dinner.

Yelp
We stumbled into this place by accident, looking to escape from our all inclusive for dinner. It turned out to be a happy accident. The setting is perfect - a charming hidden courtyard with tables set among plants and under strands of string lights. The service was top notch - our server Alex was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. My veinticuatro cocktail was refreshing. The food - from the amuse bouche of beet ravioli with mushroom leek cream to tuna picadito prepared table side, the carne asada, the local snook with mole, and culminating with a deconstructed sweet potato pie - was spectacular and far more than I could have expected from this little unassuming place. Prices were very reasonable, $75 for dinner for two in Los Cabos with drinks, appetizer and dessert! Well done, I look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
The place is amazing! Best in the city! We tried almost everything from the menu and it was always 5 stars! I would come back to Cabo only because of the food in this restaurant)
