Honestly somewhat disappointing. It’s a fascinating factory and the velvet is beautiful, but it really isn’t worth 60 Euros for one person. I took the tour because I’m very interested in textile history, and frankly for that price I would have expected something a little more in-depth? Instead the guide gave very cursory information and seemed to want me out of there as fast as possible. I was rushed past the information plaques at the front before I could even read them, & she pushed me through everything quickly, while looking impatient. If I hadn’t ignored the hints and stopped several times to watch the weavers actually working, ask questions (when she was actually in ear-shot), and linger to look/take photos while the guide deliberately kept passive-aggressively moving on ahead, the entire thing would have been over in less than 15 minutes, most of which was dedicated to the showroom.

Amazing tour, one of the best unusual experiences to have in Venice. It’s our second time here, we brought some friends and it has been incredible. Really worth it.

I am in Venice for the second time, especially to take my friend for USA here. The tour is very personalized, and the guide an actual weaver. The weaving process is fascinating as is the ancient loom and the history. But THE FABRIC is the most gorgeous and exquisite I have ever seen, and I have spent my life in the fashion business.

The visit to this jacquard velvet workshop is one of the very few experiences you can enjoy in Venice well away from tourists. Your guide is an actual weaver that will explain all the enormous complexity of the manufacturing process, unchanged for centuries. No wonder they produce no more than a couple of velvet feet each day. Reservation required.

Don’t bother going here unless you book a tour. They won’t let you in. The store is listed as a store in google but really it is a wholesale business that runs tours on the side after which you are probably allowed into the shop.

Come to see a workshop and potentially shop for a project but they were so rude and didn’t even let us in!!!! Worse experience ever in italy.. the doorman yelled at us in Italian! Why because I don’t look like a buyer and look like a middle eastern!!! Racist
