TSA completely fabricated an issue with my wife’s Real ID, and nearly made us miss our flight. We waited through the long and disorganized security line, and when the TSA officer took my wife’s US Real ID, the agent said her ID information was “incorrect” without further information. So my wife showed her US passport. The agent said my wife needed to exit the line and go to the Frontier desk to get her ID fixed (which makes no sense) the Frontier desk said my wife, a U.S. citizen traveling from Puerto Rico to Virginia, could only fly if she had a passport, so she showed them the passport and they changed the information on her flight booking to be the passport.
My wife’s ID is a valid Real ID, in the past six months she has flown with it domestically at least 5 times without issue. There is nothing wrong with it. TSA completely fabricated an issue, and made us nearly 1+ hour late through security. She, a U.S. citizen, was forced to use a passport to travel domestically because “your real ID won’t work.” It worked on the way to Puerto Rico three days prior to this incident. If she hadn’t happened to have her passport as well, we would have been stuck and missed our flight and the money we spent on it. The TSA agents responsible should be suspended or fired.
And yes, all of the information on her Frontier booking was 100% correct and current. She’s never flown Frontier before, so they wouldn’t even have an older address on file.
