Yummmmmy! We went for a girls night (7 of us), make reservations. They have a little private room on the left side of the bar tucked away. It was so nice and intimate! The drinks were awesome, highly recommend the coconut margarita, SO good. The rice bowl was the perfect amount of food. Windy our server was amazing and we will be back!!

Google
Mediocre Mexican food, and not very authentic. I can't say for certain but I don't think this place has Mexican roots. The salsa is bad, like bad enough that it should be scrapped and start over with a new recipe. The shrimp burrito looked like fast food and it contained mostly lettuce. Scrap it and start over with a better recipe as well (check out the baha shrimp tacos at monte alban for a reference). The rice bowl with chicken was Ok, The street corn was probably the best thing we ordered. All the food was luke warm. Unfortunately the prices are so high that I can't see myself going back.

Haven’t been here in a while but last night I was reminded why I need make this a regular stop again. The food was exceptional! Authentic, fresh, and filling. You definitely get what you pay for here… so many places in Rochester are charging high prices that are out of touch but I felt that our dinner for two with a cocktail, app, and dessert was perfectly priced and something like this is hard to find nowadays! I got the carnitas taco and pork belly tacos, I prefer them on flour tortillas. Fiancé got the rice bowl and we shared what was probably the best churros I’ve ever had. Will be back! The house margarita was fresh and perfectly balanced, I got it with mezcal.

Had an enjoyable experience at Lulu the other night with friends. We had a reservation for 8 pm, and despite being directed to arrive on time, we still had to wait a significant amount of time for water to be delivered and subsequently to have our orders taken. I didn't think it was a particularly busy night so I was surprised when no one came to check on us until the end of our meal to bring the check. The food was delicious though and I can see why the tacos and tequila are held in high regard. I would definitely go back to dine outside on their deck to enjoy the canal.

Enjoyed a lovely summer evening yesterday night with a group of friends at the outdoor patio overlooking the canal. This is a quaint spot that has fresh food, and good drinks. If you are looking for the perfect spot to go on date night, or just an excuse to get out during the week I highly recommend this place. It was my first time, and as a visitor from out of the area I couldn’t have been more impressed with what Fairport had to offer. Everything our group had was excellent, and the service was very good as well. I would happily come back, and look forward to the opportunity.

Lulu Taqueria is our favorite place!!! It's our "go to" when we need a night out and want to stay close to home. We love Jose (the owner) and Chef!! The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming. The food is delicious and if we ever do have an issue they are happy to fix it. My husband and I had one of our first dates at Lulus and so when we got married we asked Jose if we could do our wedding reception there. He agreed and we planned the most amazing event with him and his staff! Don't pass up Lulu Taqueria!!

Google
Modern American “Mexican” more like TexMex🤷🏻‍♀️ Whatever it was it was NOT Authentic Mexican. All the workers were American. Were there Mexican cooks in the kitchen, I don’t know but the food that was served was not cooked by a Mexican from Mexico! I’ve been to Mexico, I know their food. It’s not a smooshed potato stuffed inside a burned overfried taco shell, it’s not chicken that has no flavor and a corn tortilla that is so soggy. Tacos are horrible. The chips were stale. The atmosphere was modern American. No Mexican vibe at all. The only thing I enjoyed was seeing the bridge all lite up from my table inside the restaurant. The service was not hospitable. No experience, you can tell. Wish I would have taken a pic of my poor looking tacos but I think I was in shock by the poor presentation and look of the food I couldn’t think clear enough to do so. Won’t be back. There are real authentic Mexican restaurants around.

Google
Came with high expectations and a reserve. Had to wait 25 minutes to be seated even though there were seats available in and out. Discovered a very non-real-mexican menu and had to wait again 30 min to get a drink and an additional 30 min to get the food. The food was not real mexican. The owner should hire more people and have more menu options. Won’t come again.

Yelp
Lulu's Taqueria--favorite taco place in the suburbs. The shrimp tacos are out of this world--perfectly seasoned, tender shrimp nestled in warm corn tortillas, topped with just the right amount of tangy slaw and a drizzle of their house lime crema. Next up: the Nashville tacos. If you love heat and crunch, these are a must. The spicy fried chicken has the perfect kick, balanced by cooling pickles and a buttery tortilla that soaks up every bit of flavor. For a veggie twist, the cauliflower tacos are a revelation. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just enough to let the cauliflower shine. Even non-vegans at my table were raving. Don't skip the gordita, either. It's a glorious pocket of masa goodness--crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside--stuffed with your choice of filling. Friendly staff, bright, casual vibes, and prices that won't break the bank. Lulu's Taqueria is a neighborhood gem--I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I absolutely love Mexican food and wanted to try Lulus. The service was absolutely amazing- our waitress was so friendly. Here are some concerns after sitting on it for a few days. I love a good burrito. I couldn't get over the different temps in my burrito. The carnitas were warm and piping and the rice was refrigerator cold. It was an odd mix and even with traveling to Mexico, I haven't experienced two extreme differences in temp inside the burrito. We ordered chips and guacamole AND chips and salsa. Our order came out with 1 basket of chips and then when we asked about the chips for the guacamole, we were charged for the chips. It's odd. It literally says on the menu that chips come with both items. We were there with family so the intention was to split the appetizers. The house margarita was phenomenal and my son said his tacos were great. It's a miss this time for us. The location is gorgeous.

Yelp
Let's start off by saying- great location! Nestled in by the lift bridge and canal in beautiful Fairport, NY is a gem of a spot to have a restaurant! Downside, if it's a chilly evening and you aren't placed under one out of only two heaters outside you'll get cold fast- and when asking to move inside the waitress was less than accommodating. It was a busy evening, that being said, there were two adults and two children (both 2 years of age) in our party and it took over an hour to get our food. Food & Drinks: Fish tacos and carnitas were very good! Mocktail (mojitos)- don't do it, clearly not their specialty and was horrible, couldn't even drink it. Kids Rice & Beans- was ok...but not much flavor. Overall, beautiful location, easy & convenient parking. Will give it another try on a less crowded evening.

Yelp
Two weeks ago self and daughter got extremely ill for days after eating here. Both had similar ingredients Beans, pork carn. And lettuce. So sad! Never going back.

Yelp
We happened upon Lulu while shopping in Fairport and found it to be a great discovery. My H loved his enchilada, loaded nachos, and fried chocolate-chip cheesecake. There was a prix fixe menu for the holidays, so I tried it, and everything was double-yum! Squash soup (sopa verde), pumpkin-seed-encrusted red snapper over asparagus and grilled longaniza, flan/mousse combo with guava. The service was friendly and effective, though we had to wait for a few things. The restaurant shares restrooms with other businesses and does not seem to exert much control over their condition. However, the noisy bar scene is entertaining and the box factory interior can't be beat.

Yelp
I recently checked out Lulu in Fairport and it was a really cute restaurant! It's tucked away in a building on the canal, and I imagine they have a great view in warmer weather. The restaurant is actually very large, and has a very appealing bar. They have all the Mexican classic drinks, and a wide variety of tequila and mezcal options. The menu is on par with semi-upscale mexican cuisine, where you can order single tacos. They also have really creative items like a Caesar salad burrito! I will likely be back in the spring or summer to have a drink overlooking the canal!

Yelp
Tried Lulu's on a whim for the first time last night and am immediately in love! This spot gets BUSY and for good reason - gorgeous patio space that overlooks the canal, a great cocktail menu with specials, and a crowd pleasing menu of tacos, burritos and more. The staff here last night was clearly completely maxed out, but our server was great and we were in and out within an hour. I went with a tequila mockingbird cocktail on their specials menu - a reposado drink with limoncello. This was super tasty and refreshing! They have flavored margaritas, a great looking spicy marg, and some more classic options. The fish taco was great and the $5 carnitas taco is a MUST order. Fresh avocado combined with crema and and a rich, slow roasted pork. YUM! They take reservations, which I think would be wise if you want to sit outside or have a guaranteed experience. Make a plan to stop by this summer!

Yelp
Love coming here! Plenty of shade, beautiful deck to dine on. Delicious margaritas. Good food! Prices are nice! $6-$9 per tacos but the entries are priced reasonably. Definitely a spot I like to revisit and take out of towners to.

Yelp
This is the premier place for chips and salsa in the Fairport area. For a low price you can get virtually unlimited chips and salsas. The salsa always comes in a different size/shape bowl which adds an element of excitement as you are never quite sure the quantity of salsa, but you can count on the quality. Whether you're looking to do some Tuesday trivia during the cold, harsh winter months or looking for a few margaritas and a crisp pint of Modelo, this is the place for you.

Yelp
Lulu's is delicious! We did take out - the servings were perfectly sized and filling. I would say 2-3 tacos is a good sized order - The prices seemed a little high. The guacamole is delicious and SO fresh! I could drink the butternut squash salsa by the gallon. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Canal side seating, friendly service and genuinely tasty food with authentic flair. The vegetarian burrito was tasty and not the formulaic "burrito minus meat" that one finds everywhere else. Similarly, their chips and guacamole were great, not an afterthought. However, if you want heat, remember to request hot sauce when you order - the food is well seasoned, but not spicy.

John C W.

Yelp
Very good restaurant, highly recommend the food and service. I really enjoyed their outside deck in the summer and enjoyed having dinner adjacent to the canal.
google avatar

Tony L.

Yelp
Very impressed by a few things that unfortunately few restaurants have. First, the knowledge of tequila, mezcal and how they work in cocktails. I'm not a mezcal fan, but our server recommended a cocktail with a unique mezcal that was delicious. We had some suggestions and recommended dishes, which we tried and everything was flavorful and well balanced with spice and heat. We will be back and try the outdoor dining which looks like a lot of fun.

Yelp
Great location & very nice staff! The prices are also very reasonable. Went to dinner with my BF- he got the chicken and carnita tacos. I got the fish & shrimp tacos. I like my food with a lot of flavor and for me the tacos missed the mark. But my BF loved his tacos - so I will def be back to try some different tacos!

Yelp
Guacamole and margaritas were good. Service was so slow and the entrees were alright, nothing special unfortunately.

Yelp
I frequent Clementine a lot so I knew I'd like lulus! The burrito was massive and delicious. Fun and laid back atmosphere, looking forward to sitting outside next time!

Yelp
We waited 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, then waited another 15 minutes for water and a drink order to be taken. Finally, almost an hour into being at the restaurant, we asked the waitress if we could place our food orders (yes, we had to ask). Food arrived fairly quickly in comparison to everything else. The food was okay, but not the best Mexican food I've had. They sold tacos for $8-$9 a piece and nothing comes with it. Seems over priced. The shrimp tacos had 0 seasoning on the shrimp, but the fish taco was good. Other people at the table enjoyed the burritos and enchiladas.

Yelp
Had dinner at Lulu's last night. We were all so very disappointed with the food. The one bright spot was the nachos. We got the chorizo and potato and it was a great start. The rest of the food was bland and underwhelming. We got a a couple of the tacos that were on the Special menu, chicken quesadilla, rice bowl, and a shrimp taco. Another bright spot was the dipping sauce that came with the quesadilla. We also got a side of refried beans which was the smallest portion of mushed black beans. Again zero flavor and $4!!! Lulu's has a great outdoor space with plenty of seating. Inside was just ok. Small, uncomfortable seating. There are too many great Mexican restaurants in Rochester. The only reason I would return to Lulu's would be for a nacho snack on their outdoor patio.

Yelp
Service sucks... we waited at our table for 20 minutes before we met our server... my gf is hangry... food is banging tho

Yelp
Drinks were great (coconut margarita-yum!) but the food was sub par. Service was also not wonderful. Very nice people but slow and distracted.

Yelp
What a beautiful location right on the canal to enjoy tacos and margaritas! I came with a big group on a Thursday night and this place was packed, so I highly recommend making a reservation. We started off with loaded fries and nachos with carnitas. They are very large portions, enough for 6 people to get a decent amount of both. Both had lots of different flavors and were devoured pretty quickly. Fries were a little soggy though. The fish taco was my favorite of the night and it came with a huge hunk of fried fish. The carnitas taco had good flavor but a little on the salty side and very soggy. Service was a tiny bit slow but I cant complain due to how packed it was. I would definitely come back for the fish taco and spicy marg, yum!
google avatar

Che L.

Yelp
This was ok. The soup that I ordered was borderline ok. Not too much flavor or seasoning. I don't know if it was from this place, but my husband liked his pork tacos from here but then had many visits to the bathroom the next morning. So I don't know if we would come back to this place again. The decor of the restaurants was really nice though. Very festive!

Yelp
A major step up from the old Blue Cactus Mexican Restaurant, Lulu is a welcomed addition to Fairport for your Cali-Mexican needs. Located at the Box Factor, they have indoor seating at (which I prefer for working lunches), our outdoor seating by the canal that boasts their own bar service. I haven't taken advantage of it, but I plan to shortly. The service inside has been on point for myself and my friends, plus I've yet to experience a disappointing cocktail. Since it's newer, the bartenders are welcoming feedback and making tweaks to their menu as they go. Food-wise I enjoy their various tacos and small plates. I usually gravitate to the Smoked Salmon Tostadas, as well as the Carnitas Tacos with their juicy pork shoulder. I highly appreciate how they include avocado in almost everything. GIVE ME ALL THE AVOCADOOOOOO!

Yelp
Walked in on a Friday night at almost 7pm and got seats at the bar. We didn't have reservations, so we were very lucky. We checked at a close by restaurant and the wait was 45 min. We quickly ordered drinks and 3 apps. I had the Blood orange margarita and my bf had the Paloma made with tequila, lime, grapefruit soda and fresh grapefruit. We ordered the Lulu Gordita, Marinated shrimp and fish tacos. And then the food came! Oh boy was it good. Unbelievable, every taco was delish! Our bartender was an absolute sweetheart, thank you Natasha for the wonderful service and great conversation. Loved our experience here. By the canal and family oriented.

Michael P.

Yelp
Ordered the LULU Burrito, Beef Protein and made it enchilada style. This thing right here is probably the best thing I eaten in the last 5 years! There's just something about their enchilada sauce and crema, it's the perfect combination ever. My immediate feeling after eating the burrito was that if I died, I could rest in peace knowing that I've experienced everything I needed to in life. Call up Guy Fieri, the food network, and whoever, this will be the best burrito of your life. PS: I've been to and tried burritos at mostly every restaurant in Rochester and not only is it the best, it's also reasonably priced. Oh, and the margaritas amazing too!

Yelp
A little Gringo, but nevertheless a great Mexican option. Lulu's got the premier patio in Fairport. It's a great place to soak up the sun on a nice Spring or Summer day, people watch, while enjoying Mexican food and drink. The guacamole was just okay. My girlfriend's homemade guacamole is better, but the addition of pomegranate seeds was a refreshing addition. My girlfriend's shrimp rice bowl was good, albeit Chipotle-esque (not necessarily a bad thing). I loved the Elote (corn on the cob) appetizer. It was served with a crema dressing, fine cotija cheese as well as some hot sauce. I was also pleasantly surprised by the tacos. I was impressed by Lulu's wide variety of protein choices. Any taco place that serves lengua, gets some respect in my book. I ended up ordering the Carnitas (pork shoulder), Pescado (fried cod with pineapple jicama salad) and Pork Belly. All 3 were yummy and quite sizable (not your average small taco truck size) and for ~ $4-5 each, I felt the cost to portion ratio was acceptable. The toppings were generous, which made for good but messy eating. Drink-wise. My girlfriend's spicy margarita started out tasty on first sip, but quickly developed into heartburn (a little too spicy imo). However, I really enjoyed my gin-based "Spring Affair", which had hints of cucumber, citrus and herbs. Overall, Lulu's exceeded my expectations. It might not be the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the world, but the food is still very much enjoyable and the atmosphere is lively. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the Fairport area.

Yelp
We visited Lulu last week for the first time and were not disappointed. It was a Tuesday afternoon around 4-4:30 and we basically had the place to ourselves before the dinner rush. We opted to sit at the bar because we were asked if we had reservations (we didn't) and didn't want to hog a table. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The deck seating was not set up for the season so I'm sure they are tight on space. We started out with a blood orange margarita and a spicy margarita. Both were excellent. We ordered the loaded tots for an appetizer which honestly could have been a full meal. They were absolutely delicious. We really wanted to try the tacos so we reluctantly boxed up the tots and ordered a Nashville hot chicken taco and a gordita. I am not going to lie. I love me some hot chicken. I've tried a few places around here and nothing compares to what I've had out of state. This hot chicken has been the best I've tried in the area. Would definitely recommend! My husband loved his gordita and the bite I tried was fantastic. We will definitely be returning to try more items on the menu and can't wait to be able to sit outside on the deck in the summer sipping some great margaritas! I would definitely suggest reservations if you plan on going, and they do ask that you limit your dining time to no more than an hour and 15 minutes right now so they are able to accommodate more patrons. Totally understandable. We had no issues with service as I've read in other reviews. The bar tender and waitress that were working were both great and attentive. All said and done our bill was $70 after tax and tip. I'd said it was definitely worth it!

Yelp
I have been to Lulu's several times and each time it seems that the whole place is on the verge of a service meltdown. It's barely clean. The tables are always sticky including the one we were seated in the bar the last time we were there. We were ignored so we moved to the bar and sat with with dirty dishes in front of us for a good twenty minutes and the bartender never wiped down the bar. It was a very busy weekend and even though there is a bar outside it seems like the bartender was making drinks for the outside too. It took a long time to get our drinks. We had several people stand next to us for over 15 minutes waiting to put in a drink order but the gave up and left . We finally got the bartender to take our food order. Lucky for them their food was decent and we were famished. It just seems that everyone working there is doing the bare minimum. There is no enthusiasm or welcoming feeling from everyone there. There aren't enough staff to handle the volume. Don't know if it's an owner problem or they can't find enough people to work. Not high on my list anymore.

Yelp
Maybe I should have gotten tacos. I ordered flautas. They were burnt. So we're the chips. Service was slow. And the host acted as if she hated her entire existence.

John F.

Yelp
This owner is the worst human i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with - he was argumentative and refused to let us be seated out side (even with a 7 top reservation and no one seated outside on a 60/sunny day) his reasoning was he couldn't book outside because of the "possibility of bad weather" but we could have drinks outside but no food. He then came back and said we could sit outside because "out party was late and we would be threatening the next reservation" then was aggressive in telling me how nice of a guy he was when i said it was great that he let us outside "now that it was convenient for him". I feel bad for the staff - he is the worst owner i have come across in the industry. He has been curt and rude the few other times i've been here - wont be going back. This was on cinco de mayo btw.

Yelp
Very sad to say that the management has bowed to the whining of the 'immediate gratification' crowd and tried (and failed miserably) to turn their great little restaurant into a McDonald's. Orders are now taken before you sit and you are given a number to put on your table so that a food runner can, eventually, find you. However, unlike the fast food establishments, only a partial menu is posted and you don't see the full menu until you get to the cashier... Which makes the line painfully slow. From that frustrating process everything goes down hill... After stalking tables to see who might be leaving we finally found a place to sit... Of course we had to bus our own table, get warm water from a big igloo cooler (when glasses were finally available,) and go wait at the bar to order drinks... Then go back to the bar for silverware and codiments because the container on the table was empty. We watched food runners gamble about trying to match orders with numbers on the tables... They looked frustrated and a little sad... Understandable as tips are likely sparse for someone who sets food on the table and runs off never to be seen again. We had three servers for the two dishes we received (the third was actually for another table) and only one server was even remotely pleasant. Our food (all on one order) came out about 8 minutes apart so mine was relatively cold by the time my companion's dinner had arrived... Oh, and we never received our appetizer and had to wait in line at the counter again to get it refunded... Which reminds me, if you want an appetizer before dinner you apparently have to order that then go back and order dinner later? Not really sure if that's correct but I don't see any other way to a accomplish it and there is certainly no guidance from the befuddled staff who don't appear to understand the unfortunate changes any more than the guests do. The beautiful deck by the canal is ruined by the chaotic service, random and incomplete orders and occasionally surly servers... So different from last year when there may have been a long wait but you could enjoy a walk along the canal or a drink at the bar until your table was ready... And the servers were fantastic. The manager explained that people had complained about the long waits for tables and service last year and that this was what they were doing to fix it. My take is that the waits were long because it was an awesome dining experience with good food, great atmosphere and awesome servers. If people want fast food then they should go to fast food restaurants, not try to turn nice, sit down restaurants into fast food... but the manager was right about one thing... Lines will not be long as there will be fewer and fewer customers... We certainly won't be back. One last note... Alli was the one staff member (out of five) who actually acknowledged us and she was absolutely delightful. I kind of hope she finds a job somewhere that is worthy of her.

Yelp
The food here is 5s. The margaritas here are the best ive had in the city. They taste great and get you wasted after only 2. The food is delicious but can be very spicy; although it's literally just the verde sauce and pickled cabbage, and they will remove them if you ask. I don't understand why their overall star rating is so low. I have an amazing time every day that i go and im in here at least once a week, or want to be. Since Covid you have to make reservations to get a seat and if you're trying to make them last minute there are no bookings. So thats the only downside; they are too small. If they've gotten any bad reviews, I imagine those people are just cranky people in general

Yelp
Nov 19, 2019 Update: They're back! The tacos are fantastic today, with two fresh corn tortillas and mounds of fresh and tasty toppings. The new Chicken Tinga Taco ($4) is delicious and I highly recommend it. Nothing is unavailable, everything is working, and the waitress Stacy is great. Nov 5, 2019 Update: They've gone back to table service and got rid of the water cooler which is nice. They've cut down the menu so it's mainly burritos and tacos. Fries are still an ingredient in the burrito. Enchiladas are still on the menu. Tacos now have 1 tortilla vs 2. I had a bad experience this time. The oven was broken so only half the menu was available. We weren't greeted for a few minutes and the only couple sat down was looking around so I peaked into the kitchen to see if anyone was there. I saw a cook and a waitress and said "hello!" They heard me but I was ignored by both. I stood there for about 30 seconds before heading for the exit. By that time there were two other couples behind us waiting to be greeted. The waitress popped up behind me with a huffy attitude and said "you can sit anywhere" in a snotty tone without making eye contact. Me and my friend sat down but the couples behind me must not have appreciated her attitude and didn't seat themselves. This makes me so sad. I love this place, I want to see it do well, but something's wrong every time I come. I'll continue to eat here but am less likely to suggest it To friends nowhope they fix their equipment, procurement, and staff attitude before the next time. Update: I'm pleased to say they updated the menu and added enchiladas! They did not disappoint. The red sauce is mild and delicious and the rice and beans taste authentic. They also changed their homemade salsa recipe to a really nice earthy spicy flavor. Other ato the menu include a chewy and crunchy Gordita, BLTA, quesadilla, loaded tots and different tacos. OG Review: I come here for lunch once a week because my office is above it. Mexican food is my favorite and I can confidently say that I feel they have the tastiest tacos and in Rochester. The corn tortillas are usually fresh, soft, and doubled up so theirs no tares. The ingredients are fresh and consistently made. The chicken sandwich is amazing and their special tacos of the day are always a nice addition. The service is very quick and the bartenders and servers are very friendly. My only issues are that you have to order at the bar, there's no table service anymore. My tortillas were a bit chewy and stale today, the chicken was cold and dry, they were out if my favorite Crispy Shrimp tacos and are out of other things often. Sometimes they skimp on the protein, sometime on the toppings - depending on which chef is working. And I wish they had enchiladas.

Yelp
I went on a friday night about 6:15, it wasn't terribly busy, around 7-7:15 it amped up though! There was only maybe two waitresses so service was very very slow. Their food was very yummy, salsa/guac was delish; the quesadilla i order had far too much cheese and my friend was complaining his had the samething wrong regarding his gordita. They need to absolutely rethink their water cup situation, they gave us maybe 6oz of water and never asked if we wanted more, we had to ask them if they could bring us more which was very inconvenient since i was chocking on one of their chips. The seating area was nice though, the string lights were great, such a good tone of light.

Yelp
Oct 1st- no indoor seating, was not told when I made the reservation. Outdoor heaters not working, out of propane. Food was terrible! Will never come back. What a shame, great setting.

Yelp
Cool place, good food, fun atmosphere. Not gonna blow your mind, but you'll be happy and full. Don't overlook the fried chicken sandwich too. Fries were a little cold and too salty.

Yelp
Wow- I was surprised to have such delicious Mexican food in Fairport! The strawberry margaritas were to die for! I always get the shrimp burrito- it's like a caesar wrap but with delicious shrimp. Everything here is amazing! A little tip- if you can't get a reservation there is open seating at the bar!

Yelp
This place was a good surprise! Last time I was at this location it was something else, and I wasn't thrilled with it, but we were walking near the canal and needed food so we decided to check it out. I was able to try the burger and a few different tacos, along with the house margarita. Everything was delicious!! Also the service here went above and beyond for us. The only negative thing about this place was the size of the chairs. The seats were tiny!

Yelp
Great food and drinks here. I highly recommend this place. The patio out by the water and view of the bridge was a bonus.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and you can't beat the location and the outdoor seating. They now take reservations which I was happy about! I usually get their signature marg and it goes down too easily. We split the nachos which were great. The Chips seemed homemade and crispy, there were plenty of toppings with tomatoes, guacamole, meat and cheese. I mean who doesn't like nachos. I ordered the potato and chorizo taco which had a hint of spice but I was pleasantly surprised, since I wanted to go for a less classic taco. The pork belly taco stop the show though, because well I mean it's pork belly which was rich with a nice slaw of veggies. I love the atmosphere, especially in the summer!

Yelp
We were running errands and headed through Fairport and I remembered reading really good reviews when Lulu opened, I checked Yelp again just before and saw that the rating had dropped, and I took this as a challenge! I was ready to see what Lulu had to offer. The outside patio was fairly busy but it was a little cool so we went for a seat at the bar. Inside the restaurant is very cute, with a few small tables and a number of stools at the bar. The bartender took his time to greet us, but was very nice while he was taking care of us. The real difficulty for me here was the food. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't great either. We started off with the chips and salsa. The chips themselves were outstanding! The salsa was homemade and had a mild sweet taste with almost no spice, which was ok with me but didn't do much for my partner. For lunch we ordered a variety: cucumber salad, the veggie tostada and three tacos- the fish, the cauliflower and the special sweet potato (which the bartender offered as a special after we had ordered). The cucumber salad was bland with no real flavor and we only had a few bites, it was very pretty though. The tostada was equally forgettable. I can forgive a lot of sins when it comes to food, but the thing that made the least sense to me was the tacos. If you are a Taqueria, wouldn't it stand to reason that you would do tacos well? All three of the tacos we had were resting on doubled up tortillas that were paper thin and didn't stand up to the giant hunks of food that were resting on top. They ripped immediately and we had to attack the food with fork and knife. I didn't realize that the cauliflower was fried until it came out and it was topped with a think sweetish sauce and peanuts. I assumed that the peanuts would be chopped, they were not. When it was recommended, we were told the sweet potato taco was served the same way as the cauliflower taco- but instead of the inexplicable whole peanuts- it had Corn Nuts! Why? All that said, the filling in the fish taco was excellent, I would definitely love to see that on a hearty salty tortilla. I'm still searching for a go to spot when I'm in Fairport, but I'll keep looking.

Yelp
Our first night eating in a restaurant in forever with our family of 3 and we were not disappointed! The margaritas were on point and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and all in all we had a wonderful meal and experience. The tacos are well worth the visit and so are the house margs!

Yelp
Came for lunch. Ordered chips & salsa which came out promptly. Staff was nice & gave recommendations. Potato taco is not a taco with diced potatoes but a deep fried taco with mashed potatoes. Good sized portions & delicious food. Great food, filling & decent price. Will be back! Can't forget it has a great view also.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great. The food is amazing. It's a little bit on the pricier side, but worth it for the quality and quantity of food. I had been turned off for a while to the new influx of "hip" Mexican restaurants, but Lulu has changed my opinion of that. Best food I've had in a long time. This will be a new regular spot for us! 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
We stopped in after walking along the canal. The location is great. Right by the bridge, on the canal with tons of outdoor seating. There is covered and uncovered outdoor seating. If you want to stop in for a drink, the place is great. if you want to go out to dinner, I would probably find someplace else. You order at the bar and your food is brought out to you. the bartenders man two bars, one outside and one inside. The place is kid friendly and has a kids menu. The cocktails are good. It seems like this is first and foremost a bar. Lots of tequila/mezcal on the menu for a small place. A lot of beers too. The food was just ok. I often visit taquerias in other states and the flavor isnt there on a lot of the tacos at LuLus. The fish was probably the best. We also had shrimp, carnitas, and crunchy beef, and pork. The meat is fine but just isn't seasoned enough. There needs to be some sort of sauce or flavored salsa on the tacos to add to the flavor. We had the guacamole and salsa. Salsa tasted fresh. Guac was good but was a little pricey ($9). The menu i found online had incorrect prices.

Yelp
We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon. It was a hot, humid day, but we sat outside in the patio area. It's shaded but right on the water so it wasn't too bad. Service: Honestly, it was sub-par. Right when we were seated, one daughter stayed at the table while my other daughter and I went to the restroom. You have to go inside, down the hall and around the corner to get to the ladies room. All in all it probably took us about 10 minutes and when we got back to the table, no one had even come over to acknowledge us. Waiter we had was so so. Not very talkative or friendly. Food: Took a while to get our food, but it was ok. The street corn was a small ear of corn cut in half ($5). It did taste good but was a small portion. Older daughter had a salad which was ok. I had carnitas tacos and they were pretty good. Overall, it's probably not a bad place but not sure I'd revisit.

Yelp
I went here when they first open. We were told it was a 45min wait. My friend and I decided to wait at the bar. The seats at the bar were very uncomfortable, like they're pushing you forward. I felt like I kept sliding off of them. The bartender was nice but she kept forgetting to make our drinks. I was lucky enough to get my first drink very quickly but my friend had to wait about 15min to get hers. I ended up ordering several drinks because the wait was so long to get a table. My last drink was a bit disappointing as it was only filled half way when served. (I'll post a picture) After realizing you can order food at the bar, we decided to order dinner. My friend got the nachos and I got the smoked salmon tostadas and lulu plate to go. The food probably took at least 30min to come out. The nacho came out first. I didn't understand why it took so long to come out since we didn't get any special protein on it. My lulu plate then came out next, before my smoked salmon tostadas. I asked the bartender if my tostadas was on its way out which I should of just canceled because it took another 20min. It was nothing special. I love smoked salmon but there was probably 2 small slices on it underneath a bed of lettuce. This is where I give them 2stars which I hate doing. I had a friend coming out of work at 9 to meet up for a bite. Mind you, I've been there since 7:15pm. We had ordered our food a while back and it was 8:30pm which we hadn't recieved our food so I told her to come eat. My friends show up at 9:10pm and they were turned away saying the kitchen is closed. It was upsetting since no where on the menu or the establishment did they post it. I also don't remember anything online that they will stop serving food after 9. I figure since it was their first week they were just frazzled. I've had other friends who have since gone there and the same problems still exist. I did enjoy the lulu plate but I probably will not return unless they work out all their kinks. The restaurant is very understaffed. Lulu, you guys need to get it together!
