LuLu's Gulf Shores

We had an all around wonderful experience! Our server Billy was great and quick with good recommendations. I loved the atmosphere with the live music and we were able to be right by the water. We all enjoyed our food. The shrimp and grits and shrimp salad were so good! My kids got the crab melt and fried 1/2 & 1/2 both enjoyed it and were stuffed. The picture is of the Shrimp Salad and Peach Sunset drink. We got lucky on timing. No wait at all shortly before noon but left around 1 and there was a line.

We came late on Sunday evening for family dinner. We were surprised about long wait list, it was said like 1.5 hour, however, like in 20 minutes we got our table. Sara who served us was very pleasant and attentive. There is menu for people with food allergy: eggs free, gluten free and some more. We were happy to order for our son here, as he is eggs, milk, wheat allergy person. His dish was served separately to be sure that it is out of all allergies ingredients. It was very nice atmosphere, live music was not loud, we still can talk each other. There are a lot of activities around for whole family. It is good place to spend family evening or even day.

This was our second trip to Lulu's but our first time to enjoy a meal and It was definitely worth it!!! Be sure you go a little earlier because it's guaranteed to be a wait!! We had an hour wait to be seated but, there was Lots to do while we were waiting!! Shopping, arcade, obstacle course, corn hole and many other fun memories can be made and shared!!

Quinton was excellent! I asked if the Gulf Shrimp and Blue Crab had okra in it and he went right away to seek the answer for me. As you can see, I ordered the Gumbo and the okra added to the flavour. We both ordered the shrimp salad, not what we expected but very good, the fried green tomatoes added a little crunch to it. We found everyone friendly and polite. The restaurant was clean and staff was on top of cleaning tables for the next customer. We would definitely eat here again.

We got to LuLu’s at 3pm, we asked to be seated near the sand where my daugher could play and there was no wait. Food was good and there was a nice breeze so it wasn’t too hot. They had free snow cones and the staff was very friendly. I loved that they have a bucket of sunscreen that can be used on kids (or anyone) incase you forgot yours. We had a great time.

This was our first visit to Lulus. It was such a fun, lively atmosphere. We did have a long wait to be seated but there was plenty to do while we waited. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The menu had a variety of items to please everyone. Food was great...how can cheeseburgers in paradise not be good!

The atmosphere was really nice. However the food was not very good. I had the blackened grouper which tasted OK, but for $30 the portion was extremely small. The rice side dish was undercooked and had absolutely no flavor. It was nearly inedible. We had a party of 9 and the food did not come out all at once. The last food to arrive was a full 15 minutes after the first plate’s arrival. Our server was very nice and helpful, but overall I could not recommend this place. It was our worst restaurant experience in Gulf Shores.

Service was great and fast. Food was hot. Appetizer was huge. No complaints. If your going later in the afternoon or night there will be a long wait for sure. Kid friendly with plenty of activities and play area for kids including climbing and sand activities.

I recently went there for lunch with a group of 12 women. We didn't have reservations and they said the wait would be 35 minutes. We headed to the bar and found out we could split into 3 tables, sit in the bar area, and order food. My table started off with onion rings and jumbo shrimp appetizers. The shrimp were large and good, but nothing notable. The onion rings were excellent and arrived at our table hot . The coating was light and flavorful, and the Remoulade sauce was wonderful. I also had a Hurricane which was very strong. I ordered the Grilled shrimp and fried okra. The shrimp was delicious. The fried okra was good but nothing special and was lukewarm when it got to the table.

It's been 6 years this month since I last reviewed Lulu's and after my last experience on Valentine's Day I knew it was time to update. While I know there's some locals that bash Lulu's I totally feel like it's unwarranted and think they do a great job with the food, service, amenities and more. Great service every time we've gone there. Good prices and e collect food. Perfect fun location on the inner coastal waterway. Special attention was given to one of our group who is celiac. The manager made sure he did that order to specifications for GF folks. Great lunch! We return every year and I would recommend this place.

First night in Gulf Shores this year. My parents shared seafood trio and I ordered fried shrimp and fried oysters combo with hushpuppies, fries and coleslaw. The hushpuppies had corn added yum. The shrimp, oysters and coleslaw were good. The fries were not even hot. Disappointing as they obviously were sitting on the paper tray awhile. They also has the wrong onion rings side for my parents and they were given fries. We sat outside and the Barge came through. This channel goes to Mobile. Lulus is owned by Lulu Buffett, Jimmy's sister. There were Jimmy photos on the wall. I bought a Silicone rubber pint glass on sale for $10 in the gift shop.

Great place! So many patio seats with a water view, more interior seats (open air so still outside), and full bar with bar top seating! Have kids? Lots of outdoor play areas- games, sand, play area, and more! Even if you have a wait they can be entertained with fun things to do Food and service was amazing! I'm not sure why they have a mid- range rating, as everything was so great! We had cocktails- loopy Lu, Bloody Mary's.. appetizers- fried green tomatoes and cup of gumbo... main courses of blackened snapper tacos and blackened grouper basket... Food was all so good! Fried green tomatoes are award winning and you can see why- crispy, great sauce topper. Tacos were great and piled high! Came with chips and salsa for sides! Blackened grouper was so flavorful. And i would come back just to have bowls of the gumbo- wow! They have live music in the evenings- check their website! Great service and fun atmosphere!

On our commute home from working 36 hours in the storm and scourchin heat from Hangout Fest ... haven't ate a decent meal in 3 days we had high expectations for Lulus. My friends have experienced this eatery however I had not . Lots of cute photo ops and a souvenir shop. We were a few minutes before open. Shortly after we were seated on the patio with a cool breeze . We were enthusiastically greeted by our waitor John. He was cheery and sweet . I stayed safe and ordered the Jerk Chicken Sandwich with grilled pineapple and melted Swiss Cheese , with a side of fries the color of arbys curly fries . When served it came with a side of what I assume to be a homemade spicy honey mustard seed sauce. Either I was famished or it was delicious ! It was seasoned and flavorful ,the toppings were fresh and crisp . The pineapple was the perfect touch of sweetness and juiciness if that's a word . I also had the strawberry smoothie it was sweet and not watered down at all ! We took shots and enjoyed the cool breeze ans ambiance while it lasted . Definitely made up from our horrible dining experience the night prior . This establishment is kid/family /vacation friendly . Recommend for a quick bite. Ask for John , He's sweet and accommodating.

Food was cold and not good. I ordered the fried shrimp and fries and my hush puppies didn't even come when they were supposed to. Service was also not great and we were freezing outside. Would not return

Love LuLus. Been to the one in Myrtle Beach-but first time in Gulf Shores. Dedicated allergen menu and only a manager can take your order and serve your food. Fish tacos and queso. So good! Vibe is awesome.

The service was amazing and so was the food. Shout out to our servers James and Roger, they were funny, kept checking in on us and gave my sister a cup of water without us asking when her smoothie was almost gone. The overall vibe of the place is really nice, the live music was fire, all the workers were friendly, and the sink water in the bathrooms was really hot it felt like I was in a hot tub; would definitely give this place more than 5 stars.

Lulu's is a staple for us when staying in Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan area. I am so happy for the success that Lucy Buffett has experienced. Her team serves so many in a friendly manner. The food is of very good quality! It is a great family atmosphere, has live music frequently, and they support the community! Go have a great time at Lulu's. Also, my one suggestion.... Get the smoked tuna dip with saltines, not chips...and ask for some Lulu's pepper sauce (red)... dab a drop on your cracker and you will thank me!

Great dinner! We were able to walk right in and get a table water front at 5 pm on a Saturday! We had the fried green tomato's for our appetizer (they were great!) I had the shrimp po boy with shrimp chowder (delicious) , my husband and father in law had the grouper which was massive portions and delicious! This place is super kid friendly, we made a lot stop to the arcade and they also have a climbing area and gift shop (separate buildings which helps prevent toddler tantrums!) Our server (Sarah) was super nice and got our food tours right away. This place is right on the water and has open windows looking out but they have heaters and plastic coverings for when it is cold out.

The family and I came here for lunch. There was no wait and the waiter, John, greeted us immediately. He took our drink orders and came back quickly with those and took our food orders. I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos , my wife had the blackened fish tacos, and our son had the shrimp basket off the kid's menu. All of the food came out quickly and was very good!! The atmosphere is very fun and welcoming! There is an arcade, an obstacle course, and a gift shop all on sight to do while you wait if you have to or you can enjoy it afterwards.

It's been a year since our last visit and this visit the food was much better! The grouper bowl with the best turnip greens I've ever had. It was filling and a healthier non-fried option much appreciated. My 9 yr old son said kids chicken strips were good but too small with only 3 small strips and a cup of fruit not enough for kids older than 7 IMO. The allergy safe menu was much appreciated for my youngest with food allergies and he really enjoyed his fresh grilled fish with green beans. Kids gave two thumbs up to the virgin strawberry daiquiris and the frozen mojito was tasty as well but very light on rum. Wait on a Sunday night at 5:40pm took an hour get the table and about another 30 minutes to get our order. During our wait we had fun in the arcade but very humid with no AC. Love they have a smash penny machine so bring your quarters and pennies! Thanks again LuLu for a safe place for food allergies to enjoy a meal out!

I was so excited to come back here after our last girls trip last year. Although this time I was really disappointed in my food. We waited for 2 hours to be seated (which was expected because they are so poplar). They had the band out and plenty for kids to do while waiting, including an arcade, ropes course, and shopping. But when we got our food the flavor was so disappointing. I got fish tacos and they tasted so bland. The chicken quesadilla was good, my sister got a sandwich (I don't remember which one but it's pictured below) and she said it was okay but nothing to rave about. My other sister liked her gumbo and of course the key lime pie was delicious!

Not too bad! The food was good. Slightly overpriced for the portion sizes. The bbq nachos are a must! Caesar salad was a bust. Not sure if they were super busy, but service was a little slow. Cute place though with lots to keep you and your family entertained.

We had a 45 minutes wait that was actually 25 but if you've read in my other reviews I DONT CARE about wait time as long as the food is great and it was. I wish I could have gotten a pitcher to put on the table with water but that may just me and my pregnant self drinking my water to dang fast. We started off with the shrimp quesadilla which was Perfect... cheese was great and I wanna know where they get it because it's super flavorful. I got a side of guacamole with my pieces and I have to say it tasted pretty fresh and also ate it with the chips that come with the shrimp taco. The slaw on the taco was great and flavorful as well and also not dry. The grouper HAD TO BE FRESH. It's terrific and I ate every bit of it and dealt with the consequences later . Our server was awesome and super nice. He was busy but kept his smiling face together and as a server I know that can be hard with a bunch of drunks around (this is a joke and it's very family friendly endless Becky has one to many margs.

This is our first time at Lulu's! It was one of the BEST restaurants that we have been to in this area! I am gluten allergic and I have to order off the children's menu for other health reasons. They have an entire menu for any kind of allergy with adult and children's plates on there. One person that is in charge of the allergy plate takes your order and brings your order to ensure no cross contamination!!!!! Y'all this has been the best experience ever. They are all so friendly and answered all of my questions. They never treated me differently when I let them know all of my health issues either. I got the children's grilled shrimp with green beans and my husband got the fried shrimp plate with fries. Oh...the coleslaw..... We had Q as our server and the young lady that helped me with my gluten allergy request was Taylor! They were both AMAZING!!!!!!

I downloaded yelp just to write this review! Lulu's has a fun atmosphere with a variety of activities (arcade, ropes course, gift shop, etc.)! This would be a great place to take kids and is even fun if you are a big kid like me. We searched "lunch with a view" and didn't expect this place to be so fun! We ordered the mahi bowl, fish tacos, and jerk chicken sandwich- all of which were excellent and very fresh. 10/10

Went here last night and enjoyed the meal!! Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. I had the grouper sandwich fried and the fried green tomatoes that come on it on the side. First off the sandwich was huge, seasoned perfect but not over done, tomatoes were tasty also. Friend tried the gumbo and loved it. Others had the choose 2 with grouper and fried and grilled shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their meals and said they would return.

Food, ambiance and service were great. We came here starving and though place is full, the wait is not bad at all. Love the food and the staff were so friendly. They also got a free EV charge in the area so it makes it more convenient to all with EV cars. If we get back to this place, I will have to try other food as there are lots of choices. Fish and shrimp were good. This place is always full so be ready to wait in line to get in but it's all worth it.

This place is super busy most of the time. I've attempted a visit several times but the wait was crazy. I ended up over there on a slow day. Seated at the bar. Wasn't much of a wait for a table either. Friendly couple at the bar. Bar tender and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered a simple shrimp basket. Fresh and very tasty. Great seasoning. Ask for some extra sauce! Tried their local fairhope beers, very tasty. I grabbed a 6pack from the shop on my way out. If you can get in, it's worth it

Our go to on vacation! I wish prices were lower (but like everything it increased) but we will continue to make this our stop in Gulf Shores we love the staff and atmosphere! Food is always good, love the Shrimp PO Boy

Been meaning to drop by here and eat for years, and just now made it. What a wonderful place. The food and service were excellent. We enjoyed it so much! The place has an awesome Jimmy Buffett vibe with its music and laid back atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again when we come back to gulf shores.

Hubby found this spot while searching for Tesla Superchargers in the area. The chargers are complimentary for guests. The charge up speed isn't fast but everything helps! We were seated immediately and our 7 & 8yo loved the Fountain for Youth kids area. They played in the sand until our food was served, so fun! There seemed to be a bit of a miscommunication to which server had our table as I had to check back in with the hostess stand after 10mins without a server. Our drink and food orders were placed with Adam and everything came out fairly quickly, order was accurate. Food was good, nothing crazy spectacular but we would come back. When we were finished and needed to leave, I had to track down Adam and request our check - found him in another section of the restaurant. Again, it seemed like a miscommunication with our server-table assignment. The music was perfection, great song mix and volume was good. The weather was excellent, sunny and breezy. The gift shop had a great variety of Lulu's brand, Crazy Sista. I got a couple cute Crazy Sista shirts for my little girls and my teen wanted a Lulu's Tee. Crazy Sista also has everything from apparel to beer to accessories and some home goods. A lot a expected beachy stuff like sunglasses and jewelry. Fun souvenirs like magnets, coozies and ornaments too. (Separately, hubby drove back over the next morning in attempts to get a bit of a charge before we headed out of town. Two vehicles that were charging while we ate lunch were still there the next morning. Maybe employees? Maybe marina goers? Maybe not count on this providing much juice or being available?)

Great place for families to spend a couple of hours!! We came here one evening at the recommendation of many others, and it did not disappoint. The entire restaurant is surrounded by sand making it a great environment for kids to run around in and play, and also for adults to choose any of the Adirondack chairs and kick off their shoes. There are sand mounds for the kids to play on, bubble stations, a water fountain area with buckets to play with, a water gun station, and of course the ropes courses. I do believe there is also an arcade and hair braiding station but we never made it to those. When we arrived we were told the wait would be 1.5 hours which we expected. We immediately headed over to the ropes courses. My oldest made the height requirement by an inch (phew!) but maybe because of his age he had to have an adult with him. I was not aware of this so thank goodness his dad was there and could do with him! There are 4 levels of climbing, and he stayed on it for the entire 1.5 hours! My youngest did the smaller ropes course. It's VERY simple, and best suited for toddlers IMO. She had fun on it but looked bored. She played in the sand pit making castles after getting off, and I sat in a chair with my shoes off and watched. Once we were seated, our server was out quickly and was very attentive. We ended up ordering the spinach dip and quest dip as apps, and I got the Crab Bisque and Gouda grits as my entree - both were delish! I'd give the food overall a 4/5 at best. We were also seated by the stage and got to listen to some lovely music which was fun for all! Ultimately I gave this 5 Stars because it's all about the environment. You're probably not coming here if you don't have kids, and it's a great place for them!

Went just recently and they removed the reason I came back. Why in the world did y'all remove the Crab Melt from your menu????

This was our second time in Gulf Shores and we knew we had to go back to this place it does not disappoint! They accommodated our large party really well (12). We also had one person who had a shellfish allergy and the precautions they take were above and beyond. The food was delicious the drinks were top notch everyone was happy. The manager Steve was a riot and took really good care of us we had an amazing time and will think of it every time I have a rum punch

First, I would like to say that I love that there are activities outside the restaurant that you or your family can do while waiting for your table to be ready. It was so much fun playing volleyball with my family. Our food and service was great!

I loved Lulu's! I will go anywhere that has shopping, games and food! Once you put your name in you can shop their gift shop which is all reasonably priced. They also have some fun games that you can partake in! I got the nachos and it was so good! They were huge so you can definitely split! I tried my parents burger and that was delicious as well. They had live music which was such a fun touch to this restaurant. Our server was SO friendly and attentive! We will definitely be back!

Good food and customer service. Also, l loved the gift shop. Plus the location was great, got to watch the river while dining.

Everything but the fried green tomatoes! Oysters and grouper sucked. First time in 24 years I was completely disappointed!! Nice server but he has zero idea what service would look like. Never asked how our food was and took forever to get the check. Sad, that I will never go back.

This place can get ridiculously crowded/busy. We came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner during off season (end of September 2023). We had a 20 minute wait, but there were things you can do to past time. There's a gift shop, arcade and a couple of outdoor activities. Our server was great. We knew he was slammed with 2 other large party tables, but he still did a great job. Now, to the food: it is mediocre at best. There was nothing bad about this place, but also not a place I would come back to dine if visiting OB again. This place is popular because it's Jimmy Buffets wife's restaurant, but the food is just "meh." If you like cocktails, DO NOT ORDER unless you like pre-made alcoholic beverages. My drink and my husband's drink tasted pre-made and his tasted like sweet juice. The music was ridiculously loud. We had to shout and still could not hear each other. I left with a sore throat afterwards. I actually enjoyed my dish and the onion rings. But after dinner, my stomach was soooo upset. My nephew's stomach was felt the same too. We felt heavy with all the oil. The Manager of the restaurant stopped by to ask us how dinner went. I hate bringing up any issues, but I did let her know we did not like the cocktails. She was really nice to take them off the bill. Overall, the dining experience was loud and I had an upset stomach. I don't have a negative review, it's just that there isn't anything special about this place (food wise).

Shrimp bisque...I consider it chowder...fabulous!!! The cheese burger was exceptional too! Great service while sitting at the bar.

This place is a nice open concept. So if you like air conditioning when you eat, you probably won't enjoy yourself here. As far as appetizers go I don't recommend the chips and queso. The crab claws are ok but not the best in the area by far. The onion rings however are amazing! Best I ever had. The main courses we had were decent but again far from the best sea food in the area. Basically, the reason we go here every time we go to Gulf Shores on vacation is because of the atmosphere. Pretty neat place to have a few beers and enjoy the view.

Lulus is just fun, relaxing and low key vibe. Kid friendly. Great beach area(basically sand pit) for kids to play in with some games to play. Older kids and those young at heart really enjoy the high ropes. And of course everyone loves the arcade! Newer games as well as some of the older ones. You get tickets for points that you can turn in for prizes And then there is all that Barefoot landing has once you have your fun at Lulus. Food is good, nothing special a little pricey. Fried okra is one of our crowds favorites! But you are outdoors, along the Intracoastal waterway. Sip your favorite beverage while watching the kiddos have fun and the boats motoring down the waterway.

Great outdoor seating and live music. Had to wait for a table. Gift shop and yard games you can play while you wait.

Great place to come with the family for lunch when we arrived early for our condo and needed a fun place for the kids to spend some time. Fresh food was amazing enjoying on the water way and the kids loved the arcade and things to look at and do. Super chill.

First off, took wayyyyy to long to piece together that Lucy Buffett is Jimmy Buffett's sister, hence the Crazy Sista beer. Maybe it was the rum punch? Place is an absolute spectacle and pretty sweet if you have little kids and want to dine out. Ours had a blast, food was good, drinks were good, merch is kinda awesome too. Coming from the Bay Area in California, we have nothing like this so I enjoyed the whole thing.

Food, service, and atmosphere are all great! We went for my daughter's 21st birthday all the way from St. Louis and she ordered her first drink ever!! (Legally anyway ) Moms never think their babies do those sorts of things!!

Nice atmosphere and water view. Server was good but bartender was barely pleasant. Food and drinks were ok but best was the nachos and onion rings. BLT was bacon on a cold hogie bun, no dressing and a slimmy fried green tomato. Nothing was hot but may be because it took so long to get food. Maybe just a bad day at LuLus.

Went on a night that was actually not too busy. The food was good, just not great. Priced reasonably. Loud open restaurant. The experience of the various things to go and see and do outside the restaurant exceeded the quality of the food. This place is iconic and well lived in the area. As long as the prices remain reasonable the place should be around a long time. I'm done giving restaurants 5stars for above average but standard menu choices. A 5 star has to include a signature dish that I likely cannot make or wouldn't make at home. This place didn't have that but the service and charm of Lulu's is a reason to give it a try.

Tourist area.. something g for everyone in the family. Inside and outdoor activities. Large gift shop and plenty of room for kids to play. Plan on waiting for a table to eat... bar does serve food as well. Cheeseburgers were cooked to the perfect medium rare( hard to get when eating out)! Drinks were made well and bartenders we're having fun making them!! Local bands play during the week.

Be aware they don't do to go orders. I specifically detoured on a road trip from Florida to Texas. I was in the parking lot. I could not go inside because I had my dogs with me. I called from the parking lot and said I wanted to place a to go order. She said we don't do to go orders. I said I'm actually in the parking lot, I have my dogs with me and can't come in. She said sorry, no to go orders. Too bad. I was looking forward to eating there and shopping. Oh well.

After waiting for hrs to get a seat we ordered our food when it came out it was cold to luke warm we had waited so long that we didn't want to send it back so we ate it. We were comped 25%. Waitress was lacking we had to ask for her to come back and get us refills my wife ordered a drink never got it we did make sure it wasn't added to our bill. We were told about this place and it was told it's the best the entertainment was good and it was staff at the bar were great. We won't be going back sorry LuLu's.

Great place for kids to enjoy! The live music was an added bonus. The service was a little slow, but it was a busy place. Food was good. I had the blackened shrimp and everything was reasonably priced.

Went there over the summer. I loved the whole idea of this place. Food was good, they had arcade games, other obstacle course games for kids and viewing docks for the boats. I get it that it's in a tourist trap town but the prices are so expensive
