Luminary Bakery

Luminary is an obligatory stop whenever I’m in London. I went for both breakfast and a late lunch during my recent trip, trying a cappuccino, the jalapeño, cheese & ham roll, the mocha mini cake, a thick chocolate chip cookie, and the pesto & halloumi sandwich on focaccia. Everything was great, but the jalapeño, cheese & ham roll blew me away! I had wanted to try a salad, but when I arrived around 3:45pm, they weren’t serving them anymore. I don’t know what time they stop selling them.

Discovered this quiet gem in the middle of loud bustling Camden. Friendly pleasant staff in relaxed setting. Really clean toilet (important). Tea was delicious and cheap and the milk came in the cutest little milk churn. They’re a social enterprise too. Next time-cake!

Nice coffee, tasty cakes with vegan options, but what I like the most is the staff and the ethos of the cafe.

Came here to try Luminary's famous carrot cake and it did not disappoint! Lovely texture, flavour, and not too sweet. Just perfect.👌 We ordered the same cake (large carrot cake) for a birthday via their website. I had a special request, the customer care was absolutely amazing and accommodating. It was most probably one of the most beautiful cakes we've ever seen. Everyone at the birthday party loved the look and flavour. Highly recommend Luminary Bakery!

Such delicious cakes. If you eat in, you get a massive slice or you can choose one of the mini versions. I ate here twice because I wanted to write a review for my blog. I tried two different cakes and had a Caramelised Onion, Goat Cheese and Rocket Focaccia for lunch. Everything is tasty. If you love cake, this is the place to go! Order cakes for celebrations or send a letterbox delivery of brownies to friends. I want to go back again soon!

So good ate it all....amazing coffee. Come and try...staff briliant too. Everything is baked on site. Fresh bread available as well as some sublime pastries. Had the almond croissant. 😋 Unreal stuff.

This place does the best vegan sausage rolls and all the pastries are so beautiful. A fantastic coffee shop, with a great ethos. Every time we are in London, we always come here. Highly recommended!

Side note: we only ordered a piece of cake to take away The setting looked lovely, especially on a cold wet day. Super cosy and inviting 🥰 We particularly loved their campaign to offer opportunities to disadvantaged women (swipe to read). Unfortunately the cake didn't live up to expectations 😭 It definitely wasn't fresh and was borderline stale. Obviously waste not want not, even when couple of days old cake is still yummy, especially when heated up for a few seconds. However I really wish more cafes / bakeries would be honest and just offer it at a reduced price. The order: Salted caramel chocolate cake - £4.00
