Luna Esperanca Centro Hotel

I'm what you might call a professional traveler. This hotel has good parts and not so good parts. Nothing bad to say at all. First the room I was in was a very good size. The room was not overloaded with furniture which wasn't a problem at all. Everything you need is there , even if it is very basic. The bed was firm, more than I'd like it but that's really personal preference. The bathroom was good, nothing special just very functional. The mini fridge was usable and worked for the few days I needed it. The staff was always very helpful and attentive. They were even able to accommodate my special request on the day of arrival. The breakfast was also great and had everything you need for a good meal. The only negatives were the heat and the noise. The room was very warm. Even when I turned off the heating system it was still very warm, which made sleeping difficult. The noise I'm referring to is not something the hotel can fix. As other guests have said, the walls are paper thin and you can hear guests in the next room over, even if they are quiet. Then comes the street noise. I'm not sure why it was so noisy but the motorcycles, cars, trucks, and even pedestrians were so loud I thought there was a riot out front, more than once. This noise is the only thing that will make me reconsider staying here again.

The room is clean and based on reading past reviews, must have been updated as we found everything in good repair. Do not choose this hotel if you are interested in getting some sleep. Walls are paper thin, music in the park blares until after midnight on a weeknight, someone above you takes a shower and you are going to hear a waterfall and lastly, while AC is awesome to have- it’s loud and blows right into your face. Truly too bad as we appreciated all else, friendly staff and proximity to places.

Wonderful staff, special mention to Fatima on reception & young Luckas (plus the lady in the restaurant check in for breakfast) Great choice for breakfast with good coffee. Just a few minutes walk to the ferry to Comporta. Great value for money, spotlessly clean, we will certainly book again next time we are in the region!

SCAMERS!! I booked this hotel through an agency for 3 days in september for 390 euros. It hapened that I booked twice by mistake... and inmediately cancelled one of the bookings. Now the hotel charged me 780 euros! They say their policy is to full charge cancellations even if it is a mistake. I offered to go in a different week to use the cancellation fee and they said no. Never in my life I faced something like this. Be carefull, they are thieves!

The hotel is really cute. The room I stayed in was big. There is a mini fridge in the room.

Great location and many restaurants nearby and the market was a few mins away. Room was ok, we booked a suite which was spacious. 5/F breakfast room has great view and the ladies are very nice. We stayed there for 5 nights and heard many complaints by other customers. We heard from another couple that their room wasn’t made up. Same as ours that one day our room wasn’t cleaned, and the front desk asked both the couple and us that if we put “do not disturb” sign…. First day we arrived, someone complained that their AC wasn’t working and the front desk said they couldn’t do anything and the hotel wasn’t fully booked. Then the manager came out and said there’s a room. The service was bad and it’s unbelievably difficult to understand why they wasted such a great location/property.

Affordable rates compared to Lisbon rates, fust smell in the rooms, average beds, breakfast was not bad

I have incluse only breakfast what is litle poor , but ok. Room is clean and every day come someone to clean and this is hapened in saturday

Nice hotel VERY nicely located between the bay and the old town square. And the area is very walkable/ flat. About our 3rd floor room: Bed was ok, a little firm compared to what I prefer. Bathroom corner shower (no tub) was small. Our room was on the back side of the building away from the busy street in front so it was quiet. Higher floors on the front side will have bay views but probably will hear more street noise. Fantastic, friendly, helpful staff and beautiful breakfast buffet with lots of selection seals the deal. Parking is a challenge with free public parking located a block+ away. However, note that on Saturdays after 1pm until Monday am, the closer pay parking spots are free. Will definitely stay here again.
