A wonderful place to stay while on Capri. The rooms were clean and spacious although not luxurious. We had a room with a garden view, yet still had a nice view of the water. The hotel has a wonderful pool area with excellent service for getting towels and moving umbrellas. If you have not been to Capri before be warned that getting your bags to the hotel is not an easy task. Even if you are a light packer, navigating the crowded uphill streets with a bag is challenging. The hotel will have a porter waiting for you at the dock, be prepared to spend 20 euros per bag to have them delivered to the hotel. The best part of the hotel is without a doubt, the rooftop bar. The views are breathtaking.

A stunning hotel with an attentive staff! Just away from the downtown area but so quiet that it feels a world apart. We had a beautiful seaside room with a large balcony overlooking the Fraglioni rocks… what a way to wake up in the morning. The pool was lovely, the breakfast was very good, and do yourself a favor and have sunset cocktail or dinner at the rooftop bar. You won’t be sorry. A truly wonderful experience all the way around!

I just went on honeymoon to Capri and we loved Hotel Luna! The location has an amazing view of the Faraglioni, especially with the deluxe rooms, and it was nice to be tucked away just a short walk from town. The rooms were nice and had stylish tiling. I highly recommend staying here, and a room service breakfast with a view of the sea is impeccable. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful property. Semi-Clean rooms with great views. Pool is clean & refreshing. Drinks/food are delicious. Roof top terrace has great atmosphere. Music selection is very fitting. The Garden is a peaceful walk in and out of the property. Local Cats/Birds make the environment that much more enjoyable.Majority of the staff are respectful with positive attitudes. However the Female at the Front desk was Disrespectful, and Discriminatory to me & my family on multiple accounts. There was moderate presence of black mold in our 1st floor bathroom on the Ceilings/walls. We stayed in rooms on the 1st & 2nd floor. 1 garden view & 1 Sea View. Due to the disrespect to my Company & Family we will not be returning to this property again.

I liked La Luna hotel. However, I was disappointed by a few things. Pros: The location is absolutely perfect. It is right next to the center of town with all of the high end shopping, but it is slightly tucked away so you feel like you are out of the hustle and bustle as soon as your step on the property. The views are gorgeous, especially from the sea front rooms- you have a front and center view of the Faraglioni rocks. We had a garden view room, and we could still see the sea and the rocks over to our right, which was nice. The rooftop bar is a very nice place to get a drink. The pool area is beautiful. Cons: The service was underwhelming. - This was our first time on Capri, so we didn't know about the logistics of arrival, how to use the funicular, and transport bags. The port of Capri is absolute madness. I thought it would be easy to just catch a cab, but the line was at least 100 people long. When I called the hotel to ask what to do, the person over the phone was not very helpful. Additionally, nowhere on their website or on my confirmation email did it give instructions as to how to get to the hotel. We eventually figured out how to use the funicular (pro tip: you actually have to wait in line to buy tickets, and then wait in a DIFFERENT line to get on the funicular, and it is not easy to do this with big bags because there are some steep steps at the end). It would be nice if they helped make the arrival process more seamless, or at least provided instructions. - Another issue was our check out. We were supposed to leave on a Friday, but we noticed looking at the weather that the wind speeds were going to be very high, so we were worried about our ferry back to Sorrento that day. On Thursday morning, we asked the front desk if they thought the ferries would be cancelled on Friday, and they said that most likely they would be cancelled. Because we did not want to miss our flight, we checked out of the hotel early on Thursday to get back to Sorrento before the high winds. This was the right decision, because they did end up cancelling all of the ferries on Friday. They would not refund us for the Thursday night when we did not stay over. Also, I don't think that they would have informed the hotel guests that the ferries would be cancelled if we had not asked them, and we would have been stuck in Capri another night and missed our flight, so I though that was a bit unprofessional. I think there should be a policy where hotel guests are warned about the potential for inclement weather affecting their travel plans. Our hotel in Positano was very proactive about warning us about storms and helping us make alternative travel arrangements, which Luna did not do. - The rooms are nice, but not 4 star hotel nice. I think they need an update. - The restaurant was just okay. All in all, I would consider staying here again if I came back to Capri, but I would rank this more of a 3 star than a 4 star hotel.

The service and rooms at this establishment are 1-2 stars MAX. The gardens may be a 4 but you can just wander around without having to stay at the hotel. The breakfast staff were so rude and ridiculous. One our first morning we sat down at a table with some sun and then I see what appears to be a grown man having a child’s temper tantrum. I was of course under no impression it had to do with me, until another man came and told me that I couldn’t sit there and FORCIBLY moved me to a table in the back with no sun??? He didn’t even bring the rest of my things and it was so embarrassing. Nobody else was sitting there nor did anyone else come the entire time we were at breakfast, but they have favorites and treat everyone else like crap. The man at the front desk is especially painful to deal with. I emailed the staff beforehand asking if someone could help meet us to carry US AND our bags and she said “yes of course” only for us to then find out they just took the bags. When I then called to ask for directions for the hotel they were not helpful at all despite it not being in an obvious location. Finally, the room. Omg… I’m so glad everywhere else we stayed in Italy was 5 stars because Luna’s room was like a Norwegian prison with cheap IKEA furniture and no decor. 4 stars for this hotel is a crime. The difference between this hotel and all the 5 stars ones we stayed at was astronomical, so unless you are really trying to save some money, save yourself the back pain from the horrible mattress and the bad attitudes from the staff (except the bartenders at the front, they always greeted everyone with kindness and smiles) and go somewhere with a heated pool. Literally no one could even swim it was so cold. I believe I stayed in room 102 and the reservation was under my name in case they try to claim this is a fake review :)

The views are amazing from Hotel Luna especially if you get a superior sea view room. |These rooms are updated (but not reflective of the photos on tripadviser so go to their website to see). The service is fantastic. My only complaint is that the breakfast was very basic and un-inspiring and when you are spending 850euros/night you expect it to be top notch and not have to pay extra for an omelette.

The hotel is just perfection. Capri is a beautiful island, really jaw-dropping beauty - but it does get busy, particularly during the day, with day-trippers. And the hotel is perfectly positioned - close enough to everything in Capri for access, but just separate enough to really feel special and secured. The views of the sea and the Faraglioni are just mesmerising. The people are so warm and welcoming. As one walks through the streets and laneways of Capri, we see lots of beautiful hotels - but this hotel is just a perfect choice! We couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Yelp
Stayed at Hotel Luna during our visit to Capri. It is a lovely hotel, with wonderful views of the Faraglioni from just about every room. It is clean, quiet and well maintained with beautiful grounds surrounding the premises. It has a popular roof top bar that enjoys the same views as the hotel, which as mentioned, are exquisite. Breakfast is very good and offers a wide range of day starters. The hotel's location makes it a fairly long walk to the Piazza and is generally uphill going, so it may be difficult for some, but if you can, you should. The staff is professional, and maybe a bit stiff at the front desk, but the hotel and pool waiters are very attentive. Francesco, who attends at the pool anticipates your requests and acts quickly to meet them. Bravo!

Yelp
Wow wow wow. Just wow. Loved my stay here at Hotel Luna. Great prices for the high season. Still pricey, but so worth it. The pool is huge and very nice to go for a swim and tan. The staff at the pool is also very welcoming and attentive. Francesco does everything with such delight, and that's how employees should work. He actually wants to be here to help out. Anyways the lunch at the pool area is also delicious. I recommend the shrimp avocado salad and the king prawns. Loved it. The breakfast is so delicious as well. Very fresh. It's more of a continental buffet, but you can order from the menu as well. The omelette I ordered with prosciutto and tomatoes was amazing. The coffee spectacular. The view of the hotel is nothing like I've seen before. So beautiful, you can see the mountainside and the ocean at the same time. It's also a quiet hotel, where everyone respects that. Perfectly vintage as well. The rooms are very clean and the staff does a very good job at keeping it that way. One criticism I have is that the concierge were not that helpful in helping us make reservations with restaurants. They should've tried more I feel. Other than that that we had a beautiful stay! Thank you hotel Luna! We will come back again next year !

Yelp
That time you were exhausted from traveling cross land and sea to Capri, an island so magical it can not be told by words or done justice by photo. True Isola de Capri beauty will ever only be captured through first hand sight. Venture your way up and through the main piazza to cliff side Hotel Luna. Bella Luna. Promptly greeted; suitcases/ bags lifted from your.. eh, I mean the boyfriend's tired body - What? Pictures don't take themselves, I needed free hands. Nothing can prepare you for the escort up to your room where they walk you into a fresh, unexpectedly well sized area.. with a bed. A fluffy, done-up, white, pillowed bed. Waiting for you. Never mind the bed, Luna escort peels back the curtains to reveal only a sight seen on postcards. A sight not truly appreciated until you wake up to it, drink your coffee with it, get lost in it & sleep with it- ya, I said it. 5 stars.

Yelp
A lovely, clean and well serviced hotel with the most outstanding views on Capri. All of the photos you see of gorgeous landscaping, lighting and vistas are absolutely real and accurate!

Yelp
THE place to stay. Five nights of perfection in room 215. The room to get. Setting, service, space, privacy, food, cappuccino, pool, views, on and on, all top drawer. Every day we said there is no other place on the island we would rather stay. Luna doesn't put on airs. It doesn't need to. It was very difficult to leave. One of my favorite hotel experiences in all of my travels!

Yelp
There are few pleasures in life sweeter than watching the full moon rise between the giant rock formations off the coast of the Hotel Luna. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a cocktail on the cliffside terrace while viewing the parade of boats below, tucked away from the cascades of tourists that tromp through town barely five minutes from this peaceful perch. The Hotel Luna is an oasis of style and elegance straight out of the late1960s, a place where it's easy to imagine Sofia Loren holding court poolside. Built in 1968, the hotel has aged gracefully. The grounds, facilities, and rooms are impeccably maintained. The interior floors are clad in colorful ceramic tiles. The suites feature white walls with tiles glazed in shades of indigo to turquoise, reflecting the glimmering light of the surrounding sea. The wood furnishings are of an antique style suitable to the hotel. The only problem is maintaining a steady temperature in the shower as the old plumbing can be unreliable. Rest assured that the AC works marvelously, offering a welcome respite from the summer heat. Downstairs the staff is attentive to guests both in the restaurants and at the front desk, where Pepino or Constanza arrange restaurant reservations and outings at a moment's notice. The breakfast buffet is an absolute treat for those who like to indulge in a bit of everything. Eggs and omelettes are available upon request. As for dinner, we stayed only one night and the food was good, nothing special. We experienced a few kinks in the restaurant service due to the mishaps of rookies in training. Also, the bartender servicing the cliffside terrace was MIA sometimes at the height of cocktail hour. I highly recommend the Hotel Luna, whether for family or romance. It's hard to leave such a beautiful place, and I hope to return soon for La Dolce Vita. The glitches mentioned here are merely for purposes of full disclosure. The overwhelmingly positive aspects of the hotel far outweigh these minor inconveniences. If you go, make sure to hire a private boat for a tour of the island. Ask the captain to stop at one of the secluded beaches for the swim of a lifetime. Do not miss the Grotto Azzure where you will be awed by the cerulean glow of light traveling through shimmering water in an ocean cave. With all the amazing natural sights on the island, It's no wonder that Tiberius made Capri the capital of the Roman Empire!
