Google
Pleasantly surprised. Just passing through town. Great food and wine. Good service. Recommend: Diavola pizza, Spaghetti Ravi & Spaghetti alla Carbonara, and the Malbec.

Dee !

Google
Probably the best pizza in the area. I saw some reviewer complain about the prices but I feel that the prices are fair. The salad and caprese mozzarella were ok, nothing exceptional but Las Cruces is in the middle of nowhere and i think the city is lucky to have this place here.

Google
The outside of the building reminded me of some older buildings like the Alamo, which I like. The inside was also very nice. The Gelato was a sensation. That leads me to the best part, the Americana pizza it was very good with an exquisite taste for a good price too. The place fed 3 people for a good price, and none of us could even finish the meal. It was a lot of high quality food for a budget friendly price. The atmosphere and service was very good but nothing special. The food alone gives this place 5 stars, immaculate.

Came here about 7 years and was so inspired by this place. I went home and wanted to come back. I came back 7 years later and has kinda gone down hill. The service was lacking and we waitied awhile just to get appetizers and drinks. We left after the wine and appetizer. Caprese was not as good as it was years before. Had lots of potential but definitely not impressed this time at all.

Google
This place is ok. Not horrible, but not great. The pasta is always very bland. I got the salmon pasta. The salmon was cooked well and flavorful. Not overcooked or dry. The pizza is ok. Wood fired. The wine is horrible! All of it had a very odd pickled or vinegary flavor to it. Overall there are other places in town that I prefer over this one.

Google
I loved the wine tasting, it's such a good deal! I ordered the gluten free pizza and it came out cold :( I could tell before I even toom a bite bc the chesse wasn't melted in the middle. The server graciously took it back and it came back out and it was better but still not great. So order at your own risk! She didn't end up charging me for it, which I'm grateful for. The crunchy crust was good though! HOWEVER, I would definitely come back here and get a flight and do the Nutella dessert with the gf crust. Wine and dessert 🤌

Google
** First Timer Review** Excellent. Wonderful setting calm and peaceful. Great selections of wine. Pizza was cooked one the spot, and came to the table ready to eat. And after the $10 wine sampler, yes $10, you’re definitely ready to chow down. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Google
The pizza was delicious, per Atlas, but we agree. TJ killed it with the service and a few Mario Kart tips. Patio is dog friendly so Lola could hang with us.

Yelp
Never had a bad experience at Luna Rosa Food is great and service is good Been going there since it opened and replace their tasting room in Mesilla Always recommend J Dwyer

Yelp
Nice and cool inside. Very cozy excellent tasting food. Great service. I had the Panini and potato salad. Both were excellent. Definitely be back.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. We shared the Luna Rosa pizza and the Insalata Paolo salad. The food and wine were excellent.

Yelp
A must stop spot for wine and pizza if you're in Las Cruces. I visit family here a few times a year and have never been impressed with pizza options in town until I tried Luna Rossa. Ingredients are very flavorful and if you order it "well done" it's the perfect mix of being crispy on the bottom but still soft, chewy crust. I especially love the green chile topped options! The wine is always amazing and the prices are reasonable. Always good service, great ambiance for lunch or dinner, and a nice patio if you prefer to sit outside.

Yelp
Fun fact: Luna Rossa is the largest grape grower in New Mexico with over 200 acres of vineyards. They grow all of the varietals they offer on their menu and the types of grapes are extensive. I would think that having so much variety seems like a hard thing to do well. But I do have to admit, I enjoyed a number of the wines! Things I loved: they offer "bambino" sizes of their pizzas and pastas which gives you so many options to choose from for the kiddos. The wine selection does not disappoint. The pizza. Oh. Em. Geeee. So so good. Try the Bianca and add the green chilies. To die for. Where they can do better: I would have appreciated learning more about these wines through the servers. It's more of a choose a flight and here you go. Also the bathroom situation is tough; there are single stalls that are gender specific. They should make these non-gender specific so the ladies don't always have a long line. If you're feeling wine and pizza, this is your place!

Yelp
I am not sure if people from the area are not used to a good italian restaurant but I did not find Luna Rossa to be a good italian restaurant. First, the service was slow and not that great. The restaurant was not that busy when we came in and was seated right away but no one came to drop off menus or water for about five minutes. I ordered a pizza because it is a pizzeria after all and a sangria. The pizza had some good ingredients but it was not an authentic italian pizza. The cheese was not really good and it kinda took away from the pizza flavor. The crust was weak and the pizza fell apart every time I tried to hold a slice. The Sangria wine was also average. The server also changed couple of times which I was not sure why and it took a long time to order, then get food and then cash out. So overall I don't recommend this if you are looking for an authentic italian cuisine with good flavors.

Yelp
This place is hit or miss. My husband go often & it's like one day food is great but next visit it's terrible. I've had to send pizza back & Pasta has been served dry in sauce. I don't get it. I'm glad there are more good pizza places available.

Sam L.

Yelp
Wine was excellent, first ordered lasagne which was tasteless, cold in the middle and basically inedible. Ordered a pizza which was excellent but kind of skimpy on cheese and toppings. I am giving 3 stars because of the excellent server Leeana. If not for her making things right would have been 1 or 2 stars. Funny, a table next to me ordered the lasagne and he poured about half the bottle of red peppers on it, so maybe the lasagne had negative taste. Like a black hole of flavor (lolol). Ordered carrot cake (my fav). Like the lasagne it was missing taste and carrots. I was hungry and ate it.

Yelp
I came here after a long day of hiking and was craving pizza. I got the pepperoni and green chili which perfect. I also got lemon gelato - my favorite part! The service was definitely a bit off - my server was very nice but seemed like the servers would all stand around behind the bar and talk with backs to customers. Cute place and worth a visit if you are in the area.

Yelp
Craving pizza and salad we decided to try this place. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we were seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and efficient and provided great service. We ordered the Insalata Misto(House Salad) and Margherita Pizza. The salad being a house salad was delicious with feta and cranberries. The Margherita pizza was excellent with a thin crispy crust, just how I like it! We ended our dinner with gelato which was tasty and pretty darn close to what we've had in Italy. What a great idea to have a gelato case right there in the restaurant with a variety of flavors. We certainly satisfied our craving at Luna Rossa! Don't miss this place if you're traveling through Las Cruces.

Yelp
Found this little gem while staying overnight in Las Cruces We orders a pizza . It was quite unexpectedly great. The wine is very good as well. Next time I'm driving through I will make a point of dining again.

Yelp
Decent pizza and pasta place! Out of the 3 places we tried in Las Cruces during our road trip, this was our favorite. Proscuitto e Funghi pizza: enjoyed the prosciutto and mushrooms. Husband wished there were more toppings. I felt that the crust could have been chewier. Overall not bad though! Carbonara pasta: pretty good but I think there could have been more egg. In addition it was at warm/room temperature so I suspect it wasn't freshly made. Menu says it takes 15-20m for the pasta to be made but came out within 10 minutes. House salad: typical house salad and exactly what we expected. Appreciated that they were willing to swap out the feta cheese for mozzarella! Pistachio gelato: good pistachio flavor but a tad too sweet. Overall this seems like one of the better places to eat in Las Cruces. If we didn't have to drive right after eating we would have definitely tried some of the

Yelp
Great pizza. Love the atmosphere. Often jump in for a quick lunch. Their woodfired pizza is scrumptious. Not forgetting the gelato.

Yelp
Loved the vibe here, very comforting, felt like I was in someone's home. I had an excellent Luna Rossa wine, Negro Amaro - glad I liked it because I bought it earlier in the day at their winery in Deming! My friend and I shared the pepperoni, green chili pizza, it was loaded with toppings, and had a nice thin, stretchy dough, and the caprese salad, also delicious - it had a nice amount of balsamic on it! We also shared the antipasta salad which was loaded with pepperoni, and feta, and fresh greens - just great, and what we needed! I had a gelato afterwards, and was wishing for a chocolate gelato, none of the flavors truly spoke to me, I settled on a vanilla which satisfied my sweet tooth. Service was fast, and friendly. I completely enjoyed my experience here, and left full, and happy. This is within walking distance of the La Mesilla shopping area., and our hotel was across the street, so we just hopped back over!

Yelp
It's always great here. The food is always good and the service is normally attentive. I'm not a wine drinker, but my friends say it's very good. Nice ambiance.

Melly M.

Yelp
Love the calzones that's what we have always had from there. Stay away from the pasta, under cooked and no flavor. Served in a bowl with so much unflavored sauce it was like soup.

Yelp
Great Find!!! When you entered, there's a sign to inform customers that service will be slower than expected due to shortage of personnel due to COVID and mask wear is required in order to enter. We were there at 4:30 pm on a Saturday and it was already packed. While we were seated fairly quickly, like as advertised, it took a bit for our waiter to arrive to take our drink orders. The delicious aroma in the air was making us hungry but we were distracted by watching wine flights being delivered around us. Of course, I had to inquire about the wine flights. OMG, what a deal! $6 for your choice of 5 wine tastings. No wines from their wine list were excluded. Deal!! My husband was the designated driver so he ordered a Diet Pepsi. For our meal, we ordered prosciutto wrapped melon and the spicy Italian sausage pizza to share. It was delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed it. Although we were both going to order gelato for dessert, a neighboring table ordered a slice of carrot cake and my husband had to try it. I ordered a mix of Caramel Pecan and Butter Pecan Gelato. The Gelato was delicious but the cake! O-M-G!! It was a huge slice. The cake was super light, not overly sweet and the whipped frosting was wonderful. We will definitely stop by again the next time we come through town!!

Yelp
Simply outstanding. The wood-fired pizza - Diavola (Salamino piccante [spicy salami], mozzarella and tomato for me and Salsiccia [spicy Italian sausage], mozzarella and tomato for my brother) - may be the best I've ever eaten. So good! After a round of golf at NMSU Golf Course, I was hot and in the mood for a cold beer - vice my usual go to red wine when eating pizza - and the Dos Hefe Double Hefeweizen hit the spot. A little ice cream - caramel pecan for me and butter pecan for my brother - was a great way to finish the meal. While I didn't try any of the wine on this trip, I did get bottles of their Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay to go. Run, don't walk, to Luna Rossa Winery & Pizzeria if you're in the Las Cruces area and jonesing for a great pizza!

Marc Anthony P.

Yelp
Get the wine samplers. We basically ordered all of the wine lol. We were feelin nice afterwards. Fire. Love the pizza. Fiancé and I enjoyed the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was great, food was GREAT, (had a panini that came with a side of pasta which was also good) and loved that they had a pet-friendly outdoor patio.
google avatar

José A.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream dessert! Generous portions, excellent location, ambiance and service, but not the best Italian restaurant in town. For example: lasagna is too dry and needs more sauce. Sauce could use more spices. Great appetizers too!

Ricardo S.

Yelp
Food: don't wast your time. The pizza was totally undercooked. I asked for it to be cooked longer and the pizza came back out in less the five minutes and still raw dough. Ambience Was completely absent. Two pictures on the walls and felt like sitting in Walmart. Server was a nice guy and the best part of the restaurant. Turn off was a sign posted on the wine rack that said do not touch the wine.

Yelp
We love Luna Rosa! Food is always great. The insalata Paulo was full of fresh greens, olives, artichoke hearts, feta cheese, and pepperoni. The balsamic dressing was delicious. We both enjoyed our entrees of penne with shrimp, and penne with salmon. The wines are fantastic! I don't normally like Viognier, but loved this. The port was very decadent. Our server Fabian was kind and attentive. We can't wait to come back again and again.

Liz P.

Yelp
Dam Good. Perfect NY style pizza! Can eat the crust plain. Heavenly. The salads are a meal. Had the shrimp salad. Big fat juicy shrimp. Sautéed to flavorful perfection. Too full for dessert in house baked cakes and ice cream! Gotta come back! There wines are delicious and enchanting bring some home or for gifts. Great food, great service and great experience!

Yelp
Cordial! I had a fine glass of Montepulciano. They make their own wines in nearby Deming. They ought to lower the power of the overhead lighting. I started with a piece of salmon on a salad. They asked me how I'd like the salmon grilled. I said medium. It seemed overdone, but I've been thinking about the gradations of salmon grilling since that plate. Maybe I should have said "rare." The pizza with sausage was great. The meat really was, as billed, spicy! Really good service! I did not try the gelato but it seems popular. PS: our waiter asked us if we would like some parmesan cheese on our food. We both said yes. He returned with several sealed packets of cheese! I have never before seen packets of parmesan that must be torn open and sprinkled. The contents were clumped. Please Mr. and Mrs. Luna Rossa, fix the lighting and serve real parm.

Erika A.

Yelp
Pasta Carbonara was incredible!! Prosciutto and Pancetta were authentic. Wine flight was delicious and inexpensive. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Let me start by saying you can see and more importantly taste the fact that the ingredients are fresh. The calzone I had took me back to Italy, and I've never been there, so that says a lot!. It was so good I can't wait to go get even more. You get to build your own calzone and even considered pursuing a career in it until I remember that the credit goes to the geniuses in the kitchen. I just got to choose already fresh and delicious ingredients. The service was really friendly and given they were and have been understaffed says a lot about them. Keeping that amount of energy when the place is full and not much help takes a lot so kudos to them. It's a great overall place and having great food in the menu just makes it fun to try everything you can without having the fear of getting something bad. Great for family time or just a date. Buon appetito!

Yelp
Luna Rosa, is a very nice restaurant and a wonderful find for my wife and I. Th staff are very friendly and the food and wine are excellent.

Gloria C.

Yelp
We picked up a pizza to go and were very disappointed. It looked like it had been reheated. Crispy cheese and burnt crust. We're marking this one off of our list for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's be real, New Mexico is lacking in Italian food. There aren't a lot of options and many of them don't do a good job. I was pleasantly surprised with Luna Rossa winery. First and foremost, they're affordable. For the quality and portion size - they do an excellent job. I had the pasta with prosciutto and peas, it was delicious and a big enough portion that I have leftovers for tomorrow. The bruschetta was OK. Not great, not bad, just alright. I think next time I would try the caprese instead. Salads looked delicious... I almost regret not ordering one. This is what I would order next time. I didn't try any wine while I was here so I can't speak on the taste, but the price is relatively cheap per glass. Areas I think the restaurant could improve: noisy inside. Seating is kind of crowded. Upgrading the restrooms so you have multiple stalls instead of just one per gender.
google avatar

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Location; if you are traveling it's not too far off the freeway if you are traveling! Super cute place with inside and outside seating, since we were traveling back they allowed us to bring our new puppies to the patio seating. Menu; we ordered the Bruschetta was yummy!! Get some extra EVOO/balsamic to dip and its bomb! We tried the Pizza Bianca, one of the best I have tried! Super cheesy with perfect amount of garlic and seasoning! Highly Recommend! Ice cold beverages! Service; our server Marco, was friendly !! Very helpful with the menu!

William S.

Yelp
food service ambiance 1000000/10 lots of people go there yum yum tasty busting bust . . . .

Yelp
Best wine and pizza, service terrific. Patio or indoors, and did I mention gelato? Highly recommend a visit!
google avatar

Carissa T.

Yelp
We have stopped many times and never had a negative experience! Came in at lunch time on Saturday and they were hustlin!! The service was amazing with Momma and her boys catering to many tables. We had the petti al pollo (the name now escapes my memory 20 mins after ), pizze bianca, bilberry Gelato, and a sweet flight for me (Ma). Everything was great - no leftovers, not even enough time to take pictures !! We will be back again!
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza, salad, and a scoop of Gelato for $34? We sat in the patio on a rather busy Friday night and ordered the insalete Paolo and a prosciutto pizza. Both were fabulous and a relative bargain. The gelato was creamy. There were young families with kids, a table with three couples celebrating the end of the week, and kids on dates. In short, it was a restaurant for everyone. Service was attentive and quick and it was really a surprise given that it's across from a Comfort Inn. Good food, great prices, and fabulous atmosphere.
google avatar

Edward D.

Yelp
The staff is friendly and the pizza was delicious! We don't live in the area but we would definitely come back if we did. The pecan beer and outlaw lager are pretty good. We recommend trying them out..

Yelp
Had to add one star in order to post review. We won't be coming back. After reading the reviews we thought we made the right choice. Our teas tasted like water, our salad was soggy and drenched in vinegar, with zero flavor. The smell of vinegar was so strong, it was hard to eat. The pizza was a disappointment, the toppings slid right off to expose a thin, wet, triangle of dough, that was undercooked and plasticky and OMG the pasta was worse than the pizza. The chicken and pasta were tasteless (adding salt to the boiling water for the pasta helps fyi) the chicken pieces had a rubbery consistency, the pasta sauce was an overload of bacon or prosciutto fat, mixed with water, to create the "fatty tasting" sauce. We ate and paid without complaining because we were hungry - plain and simple. It truly sucks losing money to restaurants that don't give a shit what they serve up. I don't understand the popularity at this place. On our way out we paid for a scoop of gelato that was decent.

Luis G.

Yelp
This was one of the worst service experiences we've ever had in Las Cruces. My family got to this restaurant and we were in our table by 5:30. 10 minutes later not a hello, May I help you or even we'll be with you shortly. Nothing. Not even an acknowledgment that we were there. We stood up and as we were leaving, server said he was too busy delivering checks. Never mind there were 6 servers at the bar with several doing nothing. And there were many tables empty so it was not that they were crazy busy. This is the second time we have bad service at this restaurant. Never again. If you want good service, go somewhere else.

Yelp
I found this place online as a potential dinner option. I called ahead and got on their seating list. It was a Tuesday evening, so I was somewhat surprised that there might be a wait. We drove about 10 minutes from our hotel to reach the restaurant. It didn't seem to be located in a super-commercial area. There appeared to be ample parking. We checked in and only had to wait 5 - 10 minutes. We got seated, but service was a bit slow since they were ramping down from (what appeared to be) a big dinner rush. This place makes their own wines, apparently. The menu sort of implied that, but we happened to pass their winery on I-10 the following morning. They have a variety of pastas available, as well as pizzas (and probably sandwiches. though that wasn't my focus that evening). I opted for the (equivalent of) capellini pomodoro, which I enjoy. They ended up just bringing me regular spaghetti with tomato sauce. I understand that they were busy; I was hungry and didn't ask them for a replacement. The food was okay. Others in our party enjoyed their dishes. If I lived in the area, I'd probably check this place out as a go-to Italian venue.

Mya R.

Yelp
Best pizza I have ever had! It was great service and there was no wait! Not to mention the gelato is to die for! I am coming back for sure!!

Ricardo S.

Yelp
food was horrible. pizza was completely soggy and lacked flavour. let the staff know they took it back and it came back less the 5 minutes later and was still the same. atmosphere was cold and without any character. service was okay and the waiter was a younger gentleman very courteous. avoid if at all possible.

Tom S.

Yelp
No flavor and bad value. Clams and Pasta tasted like boiled water for sauce. Bruschetta tomatoes were unripe and not the sweet flavor needed. Save some money and go to Olive Garden

Rogers G.

Yelp
Family place with good service. Good pizzas and their carbonara is great. I usually get the sangria, however they have nice wines to choose from.
google avatar

Denise F.

Yelp
Seated right away, decent service. However we stopped in as my husband really wanted Lasagna. When he placed his order (5pm on a Saturday night) he was told they had no Lasagna but they would have some in about an hour. He made do with his second choice-spaghetti and meatballs. Mediocre at best. Bread was dry and tasteless. I had pizza and it was good. No Parmesan cheese offered and none on the table. Crust was good-hit the sweet spot of crispy and chewy.
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
Wonderful pizza with good wines! The pizza taste like real Italian pizza from New York, which is hard to find in the Weset.
google avatar

Debbie I.

Yelp
Great food! The pizzas and pastas were outstanding! Not to mention the wonderful wine! I came with about eight other ladies and we all left happy campers. We ate outside on a beautiful day. We had excellent service for the entire visit (Roughly two hours) and we were able to easily ask for and receive separate checks. I'm ready to go back! Great experience overall!

Yelp
I like a nice slow-paced meal, but the wait here was pretty unbearable. Very long time after being seated to even place a drink order. Long wait for the water and drinks to come. Long wait again to place our food order. People who came after us somehow got their pizza before us. We wanted to get up and leave, but we were told by some folks that the pizza was amazing, so we continued to wait. And then the pizza arrived and the toppings were laughably cheap. Expect a nice crust though, thin and crispy, with very few pieces of topping. It's not even worth paying for a topping in my opinion bc the sausage was gross. Just get plain old cheese/margherita if you decide to go. It gets two stars instead of one because their crust is good, they put a nice char on it. They have gelato as well. We went with the intent of getting gelato afterwards. But we were so put off by the long waits and were let down by the pizza, so we didn't even bother getting gelato. Anyone who knows me would be shocked I passed up gelato. That shows how much I wanted to just get out of there.

Ann F.

Yelp
We sat at the bar because we didn't make a reservation. Jack was awesome and shared places to go since we are new to the area. We did a flight of wines that we selected. All were very good, even the Pinot Noir (and we come from Oregon Willamette Valley). The Cabs are very nice! Jack gave us a tasting of the pecan beer; yum. We ate off the appetizer menu; the jalapeño shrimp were amazing! Then we split a salad that was plenty for two; fresh and delicious, especially the dressing! The ambiance is very comfortable and happy. It will be a regular spot for us to dine and enjoy wine.

Denise W.

Yelp
Food was poor, one of my party and myself ordered panini s, mostly bread and tasteless, they were credited, another order a pizza, crust so burnt it was inedible, this too was credited. Service was subpar as well. Not intending to go back.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing authentic Italian food! Panini, spaghetti, pizza and salads were superb. Grateful to find this place. Nice visit with Monica, the owner's daughter, who grew up in Italy. Save room for gelato, tiramisu and chocolate ganache!
