Luna's used to be a beautiful date place but new management has taken it over and since then it has gone downhill. There is no updated schedule of bands/musicians and sometimes it is not even open This is not a way to attract new customers or the way to keep old customers, which is so sad be because we have been avid customers for 10+ years. We will not be back until the management changes.

Charming, Cozy, and Classy! Luna continues to add details to their 1960's Decor, while experimenting with their menu, and expanding their patio... The live music they offer is a step above other bars and lounges; and if you're looking for an excuse to dress up, Luna is the place to do it: Semi-formal is the norm. This visit, I had the "Grasshopper," a spiked milkshake filled with absolute deliciousness. 🍫 Absolutely worth a visit. Original Review #1 from 2020: This place was absolutely charming and beautiful! Definitely stop by the patio and witness Gingerbread Men in a Ball Pit! 😂 Stopped by to see Dirty River play, and had hot tea and a chartruteri box. The seats are adorable and well spaced. Even the most coronaphobic will approve of this place. Bring a jacket, because they let in outside air. ☺️

They're bringin' swanky back y'all - no joke! This is a great place for live late-night soul, funk, or jazz performances. They attract some great regional talent, and sometimes bands from the Big Easy. It's not a huge venue, but there's a decent size dance floor, plenty of room at the bar, and an adequate number of tables. There's even a cool area on the side with those lounge style booths that you can relax in and watch the band. The bands start around 9:30'ish. If you show up after the band starts, it might be tough to get a seat, but who needs to sit? You need to get up and move and groove to the awesome tunes played in this little joint. There's a $10 cash only cover charge, but they do take credit cards for drinks and food. The sound system is perfect - no complaints about that. Parking - I'll be honest, parking is very limited. You'll probably end up parking on the street in the neighborhood behind it and you might even have to walk a couple of blocks, but it's not that big of a deal. They have decent table service for drinks, but it's quicker to go to the bar. The bartenders are very quick and attentive. They have a small kitchen with five or six choices of snacks. You'll love this place - TRUST me on this one. Get out there and get your swank on!

The place has potential. Very nicely decorated..... We paid a $15 cover each to hear a band play 2 songs after getting back on break..... and then they had to deal with something going on with their family's tab so they took another break. Decided to take our losses and leave. Too much drama ..... Music from what we heard was mediocre at best..... bartender was nice. will not be going back. What a waste.

The 15 dollar cover wouldn't be bad if the music was better and if it was in a nicer area. Nicer clubs don't charge and they get a lot of traffic. Just a suggestion 😅

It's been years since we've been here, and I thought it had closed. We happened to see cars out front and lights on, so we decided to stop. They do have new owners, so it's different inside but really nice! The cover was kinda high, but maybe it was just tonight. Overall, it's still a great music venue. We'll definitely be back.

What a great venue, wonderful live music, a good dancing floor with patrons of multiple ages- no pretentious crap that you see at trendy clubs just good live R&B music with a lively crowd and everyone welcome

Stopped by here this past weekend with a friend and it was a full house! Didn't know until later that was their last night open as they switch ownership but it was great. The band was fantastic and the singer that jumped in was amazing. Her voice was just stunning!

Are you still open? I drove by tonight and it was totally dark. No outside lights on or cars in the parking lot.

The swankiest place in town is legit. Great vibes, food, music, and waitstaff. Every time we visit, they provide complementary mini water bottles. The street mini tacos are yummy. We come for the bands but always feel well taken care of when we visit.

Good service, the price of the cover seemed excessive to me, but we went to support a local band from San Antonio, the drinks are good especially the sangria.

We stepped in for a drink. It is a beautiful lounge with great ambiance. The bartender made me a delicious old fashion! Very impressed and look forward to returning .

I visited this establishment to see a local band, the AC didn't work, the bar was understaffed, disgruntle employee at the door. That charged $15 per person to see a band that performs at other clubs for free every month. For $15 you would think AC would be included. Definitely recommend you go see The Experience Band at Horizons Night Club or one other the other venues they perform at.

Don't know what happened to this place but it's not like how it used to be. New owners I believe.

Me and my wife find parking easily in the parking lot as we get off we walk in we approach a lady who covers $10 a person after that I was amazed by The view and the music. We find a table by the dance floor at the corner we started ordering appetizers and drinks didn't take long at all. Food was amazing drinks atmosphere was awesome. You get to me the band or who's playing that night when they're done playing in the patio area very nice. I recommend to anybody who's wanting to let loose and listen to some jazz and soul music. Very upscale dress to impress.

If I lived in San Antonio I'd be here all the time. Seriously, I love the hole in the wall vibe (beware it doesn't look appealing from the outside but it dazzles inside). First thing that impressed me was the service. I love the model of having a particular server, but any server can help you and will stop at your table if they notice you're low on something. We ordered a bottle of wine ($25) and I think 3 different servers poured us glasses whenever they passed by and noticed we were low. One comment on the menu, they don't have prices next to their drinks. I'm not a fan of this practice. I think it's a privilege to just order things with no clue of how much they cost. I asked our server, but she couldn't really tell me how much things were. So here you go- the cocktails are about $8-9 and glasses of wine are about $9. This means that buying the $25 bottle of wine is totally worth it and saves you money! Another bonus? FREE endless chips and salsa! And the salsa was good quality so we went through a couple. Ms. Mack & The Daddies (soul band) preformed and were fabulous. We were very well entertained! Note that there is a $15 cover charge and it's added to your bill.

What a gem on San Pedro! I've wanted to come here for years and just never made it happen. Recently a couple of friends invited us to a show so I finally got to experience Luna first hand last night. From the outside, it's really easy to miss and parking isn't the best but the second the door opens, you're greeted with a friendly face. At least I was last night as they charged a $15 dollar cover which was totally worth it. The band they had was an absolutely stellar act playing funk and R&B favorites. They had a DJ spinning actual vinyl as well making the whole experience feel... real! I know that's a bit subjective but something about the place, the band, the textures all reminded you of a world where you talked face to face, danced with friends, and enjoyed the company of strangers. Living in a digital post (I think right?) COVID world, this was refreshing. We live in the area and one of things we like here is the atomic modern aesthetic both in the neighborhoods and the businesses. Luna nails this. The place is gorgeous inside and they added a Texas must with outdoor seating and a food truck. This blend of class and casual is a San Antonio staple that I will absolutely revisit. Oh and one more thing... the staff was on point and friendly. I stayed hydrated and dehydrated as needed. The drinks were not amazing but passed muster. I may stick with beer next time to save a little coin though. I look forward to seeing more acts there and kudos to Sugaree and Cold Sweat for putting on a fantastic show!

Awesome atmosphere!!!! Katie is the absolute best waitress and Jacob makes the best drinks. Great bartender!!! She has some of the best recommendations, and her service is truly unmatched! Also, I love the live music. I'm slightly sensitive to noise, I have a sensory thing. I typically sit outside just to avoid getting overwhelmed! HOWEVER this place is such a vibe. Ask for Katie if you go in!

I'm not a jazz connoisseur by any means, but I do love live music and appreciate musicians creating their works of art in real time. LUNA is doing everything they can during COVID to stay operating and allow us some for of entertainment during this pandemic. So please don't be jerks to them. The workers were busting their butts hustling from table to table to accommodate everyone while also cleaning tables immediately after patrons would leave. LUNA's mask policy basically requires you to wear a mask in the establishment unless you are seated at a table. Simple. If you're on the dance floor: wear a mask. If you're going to the restroom: wear a mask. I watched this couple hit the dance floor maskless and were quickly ASKED by staff to wear their masks. Instead of politely putting on their masks and returning to the dance floor they were offended and left. Minutes later another couple hit the dance floor with their mask on and no problems. You can still have a good time in a safe way. Shoot - wearing the mask adds more mystery to you and your dance partner haha Anyway! Cover was $8 on a Thursday. Plenty of parking around the area. The snack menu is online. I recommend eating before coming here as they only really offer chips and dip type of snacks. Everything was bagged or put in plastic due to COVID which was fine. My experience wasn't ruined at all by any of the protocols in place. This was our first time at LUNA and we had so much fun! I love that San Antonio has a place like this and that LUNA is still able to operate during the pandemic. Be sure to support the musicians and the establishment! I 110% recommend LUNA!

Nice atmosphere of your looking for night out to chill and listen to good music and drinks was on point and the taco truck have good food and I can't forget about the servers they made sure we had a good time

Ahhhh finally a place for grown people to relax and listen to some great music. It's been a couple of years since I visited Luna. Back in the time before (COVID), I recall the music was great but fairly limited seating options and the bar area was shoulder to shoulder. Since the renovation there is plenty of comfy seating. We in the age 40+ category love a nice seat lol. And the aesthetic is like a cozy warm speakeasy. But Luna attracts a diverse crowd of all ages. I went to see the Right Now Society band and they kept the crowd rockin all night. Probably the best night out I've experienced in SATX. The only downside was there wasn't much table service once the show started so I had to leave my comfy couch to get in line at the bar. Plus I didn't know there was a food truck outside until I read another review after the fact. But the drinks I had were delish and so will be back!

Ok... so if you're one of those people who's perhaps a bit put off because there's a pretty steep cover, let me tell you that it just helps to assure that the place has an amazing look, an awesome vibe, a great crowd, and excellent live entertainment. Because everyone paid that cover to get in, people are into what's being laid down and it adds something wonderful to the already amazing energy of the place. This is one of those places that make you feel like you're one of the "cool" people in town because you're hanging out there. And it is definitely one of those places where you just want to hang out and vibe. If you love music and love cool, funky places, and especially in you're an SA resident... then you need to come here. Nuff said.

The magic of Luna continues! I was skeptical of the new renovation at first until I walked in. It was nice. The seating options got updated and the stage was moved to accommodate the seating arrangements. There was a dance floor with no chance of bumping into someone's table. The staff was kind and courteous. The drinks were great! The food options were outback on the patio provided by local food trucks. Me and my spouse had a blast. Can't wait to play Luna one day soon.

Poor communication with foreign visitors, they do not accept an apology, they are thrown out of the restaurant without explanation and apology, the music is very loud, which lays ears, I would not advise immigrants to visit this institution

Girlfriend suggested this place on a whim; neither of us has been and werent sure about it as we saw some older folk leaving the venue. as we walked in we were greeted with soul and livelyness. some of the best live music ive heard ever in san antonio PERIOD! beers were like 6 bucks, not too bad with todays beerflation prices. i had a great time; the ambience: beautiful, the music: perfect, the drinks: flowing.

Finally found my go-to spot in SA. The drinks are great, workers are friendly, and the live music is so much fun. The crowd was a bit older so it's a chill vibe here. If the music gets too loud, they have an outdoor seating area with a food truck. Highly recommend!

Great live music and very well organized. I have been here for several occasions to celebrate birthdays and the staff is always accommodating. No reservations - so if you have a larger group- get there early !!! Drinks are good and reasonably priced. Food options are limited but very good ! Bathrooms are clean and well stocked - always a big PLUS for me in a busy bar !!! Cheers!! and go try this place out !

The service is not very good here. Long waits for drink service and the drinks are weak. Always a great time experiencing live music from independent jazz and soul/rnb artists tho.

This is a hidden gem. The ambience is amazing and the line up of live bands couldn't be any better. Everything is reasonable priced. Definitely a great place for date night or just a night out.

Man oh man!!! If you come here and dont feel goosebumps from the amazing vocals - i dont know whats wrong with you. We checked this place out on Saturday. Small from the outside. Plenty of room on the inside. 10.00 cover for the band. Very mixed crowd which we love. The band was phenomenal. Drinks werent crazy priced. Really good venue to take a date. Hang with friends or whatever your Occassion. The energy is off the charts. If you like jazz and blue and endless soul - GO!!

Luna is one of my favorite places in San Antonio! Do not be fooled by the outside experience, Luna is a very classy establishment. My favorite thing about Luna is the amazing variety of live music that they offer at a very fair cover price and sometimes no cover. Luna is a great place for jazz, soul, and salsa lovers alike. When I hear the term grown and sexy...Luna comes to mind (lol) My favorite night is Wednesday nights with Daniel Wyman con La Clave. Great music, great atmosphere, no cover! The music is so good people dance in the aisles. Do yourself a favor checkout Luna asap!

Not sure why I've not made it a point to spend an evening at Luna before - but I'm so glad my friend made the suggestion! We went on salsa night (no cover btw - shocking) and what a great time we had! Dance floor wasn't too crowded, plenty of tables and chairs and great drinks and service from our bartender This place will soon be a frequent check-in for me, with or without friends to join me...dance or don't dance, that doesn't matter. This is just a great spot to be...so, I'll be going back soon!

Oh my goodness, I love this place. We saw Ms. Mack and the Daddies on a Saturday. So good! Ambience was awesome and welcoming. Its just a nice mixture of people of all age groups that are there to have a good time and listen to some good music. Super chill vibe. The bartenders and wait staff are friendly here despite it being pretty crowded. The bathrooms were clean. There was a $10 cover. We didn't order any food but they had quesadillas, meatballs, and nachos. I'll be back for more!

Yessssssa!!!! Found this establishment while looking on the Internet for somewhere to go for our anniversary while in San Antonio. My husband and I love reggae music and I came across Luna. Perfect. I read a couple of reviews on it and feel we should give it a try. Anyway Luna was jamming a live reggae band, great drinks friendly people, The atmosphere was relaxed and laid back. The place had a long seat along two walls. It also had a elevated level with tables and chairs mirrors on the wall. On the other side you could see where you could seat people in clusters for a party or gathering. Luna had a nice size dance floor as well. Back to the band they found out it was our Anniversary and they dedicated two songs to us now that was the bomb

I really had a great time here. Even tho it's a small spot the vibe was def great, especially the live band! More grown up atmosphere that I loved.
