Haven’t been able to visit this establishment for a while but guess what they continue to provide the most amazing service! Late lunch/ early dinner and what can I say about JOE C C our server!!! From the moment we sat down till we left ~ such an awesome time. He noted my food allergies and didn’t skip a beat! Went above and beyond and always smiled and made sure our dining experience was outstanding!!

We often cater food from here at work. My office gloves the rice balls. I greatly enjoy their Luna salad. When eating at the restaurant I love their wings. Service is lovely and restaurant has a nice ambient. They also have a paid parking lot behind the restaurant.

First time here and thought it was great. We came to Nutley to visit our oldest son who just moved there and this came up on quick google search. Staff was very nice place was decorated for Christmas and just an overall nice place. We ordered four pizzas and they were all very tasty and thin crust was great if this is what you like. We for sure will make this our go to spot when visiting him in the future

Luna is NEVER a disappointment. There is nothing on the menu that I have tried that didn't exceed in flavor, taste and the way it was prepared. The Pizza's, - all great. The main courses, great. The sandwiches, great. The Apps, - great. The Salads, great. The owner Lou and his entire staff including the cooks, bartenders, waiters and waitresses make this place what it is. A wonderful experience in my hometown! Highly recommend if you are thinking about trying. They also have a private party room that could be rented out if you are looking for a place.

Came here with hubby for Father's Day. Everything was Excellent from Service to food. Had a wonderful server who kept coming over to check on us. The Red Sangria was very good. Appetizers were amazing. Chicken Parm with Spaghetti was absolutely delicious 😋. For dessert with had the Chocolate Molten cake. OMG yum. I just happened to Google this place and give it a try..so glad I did. Already making plans to go back.

Get an extra pizza and take it home for later, it was excellent after about 5 minutes in the oven! Very good experience and friendly staff. Also reasonably priced. We started with some beer, it was standard and nice. We had the chicken bites for an app, they were good and crispy. For the entre we had a pizza with perciutto. The crust was perfect and the saltiness of the perciutto was spot on, a good compliment to the mozzarella. On the way out we ordered a Margarita pie to take home, since we had gone out earlier that night. It cooked really well at home later that night. Good environment and a nice little local spot. Overall I give Luna Wood Fore Tavern a 4.2 out of 5.

Started off with 2 pizzas, margarita, and pepperoni. Both pies were perfectly cooked, and the presentation is excellent. The bar pie size is normal. The pies have great flavors, and I like the sauce. They use the small sliced pepperoni that when baked turns into little cups and holds some of the oils from the pepperoni. I absolutely love that. To my disappointment, the bottoms were barely cooked and not done nearly enough for a traditional WOOD FIRED PIZZA experience. The MEATBALLS are very good. Taste like my Grandma Rose's from Sicily. I Recommend The SAUSAGE and PEPPERS are excellent, and I'm sorry I didn't eat more of them. Tender and cooked perfectly. Definitely Recommend The CALAMARI is very good and not overcooked like many other establishments. Frozen and not freshly made. CHICKEN PARMESAN is tender and flavorful. It's doused with a good amount of tomato sauce, and I liked it a lot. The MOZZARELLA Cheese is a part skim type and melts into a solid thin layer, but you'll need a knife to cut through it cause your fork won't get the job done. It's definitely not the gooey stretchy mozzarella we all know and love The tomato sauce is very good, and they're definitely not stingy with how much they use.

This place is lively on a Friday night! What a fun atmosphere. Came here on an early Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised by the down to earth service and food. We started with the rice balls, and they were vegetarian and delicious. The vodka sauce on the side really sent us. We also got the mushroom ravioli which was rich and a bit earthy. We would love to come back here and try the pizza! This time we were full until the next day despite splitting the appetizer and entree. There was no wait but we got there just before it got packed so I would consider what time you're going.

the food was delicious. we ordered different versions of thr steaks. The ambiance was just as stated lively but not over crowded.

Stopped in at Luna's for lunch with a friend. It was absolutely quiet - we had the place to ourselves. We got two pies and their rice balls. Everything was good but just a little underwhelming. The rice balls were probably my favorite, crispy and the sauce was good too. The pizzas were alright, I mean not bad by any means just not amazing. Service was great, mainly because we were the only ones there but overall a good lunch. Is there better pizza in nutley? Yes. Maybe I'll try their pastas next time and compare. I'll definitely give this place another try for dinner.

Ordered calamari and pizza. The calamari was over cooked and chewy. The pizza was bland no spices on it except for basil. Disappointing since I've eaten here before and the food was definitely better.

Party Room review: love the size of the party room, it's great for smaller events. For starters, we had calamari and arancini which were both so delicious. For the buffet entrees the eggplant rollatini was my favorite, so delicious! The chicken Marsala was and pasta were ok. Caesar salad had too much dressing for my preference. For desserts - the cannoli's were my favorite! Big and flavorful. The Nutella pizza was ok, nothing special there. I think the thought of Nutella on pizza crust is exciting to some but I prefer it to be a little more flavorful with toppings or something else. The white sangria was also delicious and the service was great! Very attentive and friendly. Would come here again and possibly book my own event here.

Food was amazing. Servers were very nice. Just seemed like they were taking advantage of their servers by not scheduling/hiring enough people to actually adequately service the floor. Seems they were more focused on the venue space then diners. Food timing was an actual mess because we were not the priority and it showed.

Stopped in for a meal and a drink after conducting some business in Nutley, and wow what a great meal we had. I enjoyed some bruschetta, some beet salad, and the best Philly cheesesteak sandwich I ever had. They beat Philly hands down. The red peppers in the sandwich tasted amazing. The beet salad was absolutely delicious, made with lots of fresh beets. The best part though was the service, every employee works hard to please each and every customer, and they do it with a genuine smile. Our server Joe was awesome, he was attentive, gracious and polite. A real gentleman. The whole vibe of the place was cool. A great place to visit. I will be back!

The food is always delicious! Try their rice balls!! I also very much enjoy the Italian Chicken Sandwich. They put balsamic glaze on it which takes it up a notch! The service is pretty good and the place is usually comfortably packed. It is a little dark in there, but it's not too bad.

Wonderful atmosphere excellent bartender Alexis. I forgot the waiter's name. He was amazing. We were there Friday afternoon for lunch. We had a great time. The food is on point. Definitely will be back.

Very friendly service today. The meatball sandwich tasted okay, unfortunately it was not hot, balls were a bit cold inside. The chicken Nutley Raider sandwich also was not hot enough and the prosciutto did not taste fresh. Three pizzas at a table next to us looked quite boring. We won't be back.

What ever I've had their has been outstanding. It could be their pasta or pizza it is delicious. Of course the service is top notch and it's a great looking place.

The rice balls are to diie for!! My son ordered the garlic parm wings and sadly the garlic was beyond burnt (as you can see), and it ruined the wings. That won't stop me from ordering the rice balls!

Happy Sunday Adventurers! I was here last weekend to meet up with some friends in the area. We tried a variety of drinks--old fashioned, some sort of spritz, my first espresso martini and of course an extra dirty martini. I've been trying them at different places just see how they're made. The service was quick and efficient, really great vibe at the bar. I loved the steak crostini, the meat was cooked perfectly and tender with great flavor. I also ordered a special pizza from an older menu--it wasn't bad just very tart/acidic. I'd still recommend it I think if they added ricotta it would break all that up. I did not like the espresso martini, too sweet. I think that's how they are suppose to taste but I'd prefer less sweet more espresso. They host parties in the larger room next door so unless the doors closed you'll hear a lot of kids running/screaming. Parking wasn't too bad, but it was a Sunday and cold, you'll probably have a harder time on a different day. I'd like to come back here during a happy hour if they still offer it. I think it would be a good time with wine and pizza!

Moment my friend and I walked in we did not feel welcomed. Hostess walked up to us and gave us a seat then took her time to come back before asking us for drinks (it was empty). We asked questions about the drink options and she responded rudely -- then asking for ID's (my friend and I are 21). She assesses them in the back then tells us they are not valid and "should not attempt to use them in other establishments." Not use my license in other establishments? I dared her to call the police because this is just ridiculous. We were looking to spend good money on food and drinks and were met with a rude waitress with an ego problem. Good luck!

Decided to drop by Luna Wood Fire Tavern on a whim, as we were in the area for another shop. My party of three wanted to have dinner somewhere there would be a lot of options which is how we landed here. The tavern was at a quiet point in the evening so we were able to take in how cozy and detailed this restaurant feels. After browsing the menu and asking our server a couple of questions, we decided to get the Steak Crostinis, a Margherita pizza, and the pasta faglioi. We were first served a bread basket with olive oil which was a pleasant surprise! We didn't wait too long for our food to come out and to be blown away by our selection. I dipped a piece of bread into the soup which tasted nice. The pizza was the perfect size to be a personal pie or to share. The steak crostinis stole the show for us - the texture of the steak was soft, seasoned beautifully, mixed with arugula, red pepper and a horseradish sauce, on top a little bread... pure perfection! Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Luna Wood. Would definitely recommend!

Food so so very loud cant here yourself, leaves a lot to be desired Cramped if your looking for pizza there are plenty other places

The food is excellent and comes in large portions! The ambiance and setting is perfect for a date night or have a seat at the bar, grab a bar pie and watch a variety of programs on their 5 large TVs. The service is second to none. All servers are friendly and have great personalities! Saved the best for last, Lexi the bartender offers top notch service! Very fast, efficient, and fun to chat with. 10/10 Recommend! P.S. Try her espresso martini!

So I met my friend here for lunch. We shared the calamari with teriyaki. Calamari was tender with a bit of crispness. Very good. My friend had the Italian chicken sandwich. He stated it was pretty good ! So I saw they had a pork panini with Broccoli Rabe with provolone. ( Which is probably my favorite sandwich when made right). So my husband and I returned for dinner on the same day!! We ordered the potato, sausage and long hots as an appetizer. Excellent.... Very filling. Mozzarella sticks for the teen.. The pork panini was surprisingly delicious. The pork was sliced thin, seasoned perfectly, juicy with the correct amount of broccoli rabe and provolone. Paired with an Au jus sauce on the side!! Hubs ordered the Luna rib eye sandwich. He said it was good but tried my panini and said he should have ordered that instead. Service was great.. inside is very nice. Cool place to come hangout. Will definitely add to my rotation.

I'd say 3.5/5. The main server was very helpful and nice but her food runner (who I'm assuming is new?) was pretty rough, slamming our plates down and forgetting to bring us extra utensils. We also weren't brought bread when sat down although every other table did. We started with the stuffed meatballs, eggplant stack, and Tuscan style calamari (balsamic glaze, sausage, hot cherry peppers) for appetizers. The sauce for the meatballs was great (and would have been awesome to dip bread into) but the meatballs themselves were lacking in flavor a bit. The eggplant stack was nice and refreshing, but the calamari was not what we were hoping for. There wasn't a balsamic glaze but a puddle of balsamic dressing pooled at the bottom of the dish and the hot peppers were chopped so tiny that I only found two in the whole plate. The amount of balsamic, and the fact that it was the liquid and not a glaze, made it almost inedible. I got the Italian Chicken Sandwich which was honestly so good it made up for the fact that the calamari was so bad. The fries were nice and crispy and delicious. For dessert we got tiramisu with caramel drizzle and it was really tasty. Since this was my first time at Luna I wasn't quite sure what to expect. We went on a Tuesday around dinner time and just expected a simple dinner with family but it was LOUD. We were almost shouting to hear one another across the table. And it seemed as though every 20 or so minutes they were dimming the lights more and more which seemed unnecessary as it was already relatively dim at 6pm. All in all it was good. Won't go back on my own but won't complain if somebody else chooses it.

The food was delish!! They have an outside area you can bring your puppies with you. And they bring out water for them. The service was amazing.

I've had 3 experiences here. First time food was amazing with the exception of a small piece of wire (possibly from a metal cleaning brush) on my pizza that I bit into. Staff was profusely apologetic and offered to comp the pizza which we declined. Second was a take out order and everything was really good except the cannoli pizza which was lacking in any real cannoli substance. Third was a visit in person, and everything was okay, not great. Their mezzalune pizza is a favorite but again, last visit was just okay.

Been going to Luna for a while now, the atmosphere is great. The food is good, sometimes the service is not so good, you have a lot of young kids just standing around, playing on their phones and talking a lot to where they forget about their customers. Love going there especially during football season .

I. Don't know what happened but I used to love this place &. Went almost every other week. A room was added, seating in main part changed ... don't like it ! Waiter was slow, food was not the same. Haven't been there since our last time in Fall 2023. It's a shame because the place was great without all the changes.

My first review in over 5 years. Stopped in for a quick dinner because my restaurant of choice was booked for a private party. Unfortunately, I wish I remained hungry. I was sat at a reasonable time 8:30. I have never felt so rushed in my life. The server asked me how we're doing every 2 minutes as if she had somewhere to be. The food arrived and she asked how everything was within 2 minutes, great. She comes back in another 2 minutes asking us if we need any boxes. Huh!? Mind you I'm a big guy. I must've took 2 bites before she asked if I need any food wrapped up. Then after being pressured for 20 minutes I gave in and asked for the bill. 5 minutes later the server was counting her money 2 tables behind me. As a former server myself I remember 1 rule: do not count your money in front of guests! Is this a fair review of the restaurant? I don't know and I don't care. Treat your guests like you want them there.

First time catering and it won't be the last! Food was fresh, tasty, & made me with quality ingredients! The Harvest Salad was one of the best salads I've had in a long while! Hot food was excellent as well! Looking forward to enjoying anothe meal from Luna!

Quaint restaurant with a nice fish tank at the bar area. Food is excellent from the pizzas to the Luna Burgers, Italian Chicken sandwich, pasta dishes and much more! Servers and bartenders are excellent. Especially Lyna, Lexi, Max, Pat, Medium, Chris, etc All friendly and personable.

Never had a bad meal from Luna. We generally order take out, but it is always hot and to the order. I highly recommend Luna!

Very nice pizzeria and restaurant. Great pizza sold 12" pies. A lot to eat for one person or share for two with appetizer. Great service. Very nice decor. Also had TV's mounted in bar with sports.

Pizza is good, everything else about our food was awful. It was the worst food I've ever had at restaurant. The soppressata on our pizza tasted like spoiled meat. The slices without it were excellent though. I ordered the teriyaki salmon. The rice was undercooked and inedible, the salmon was very low quality and was not cooked in the teriyaki sauce, so it had no flavor. There was a piece of hair in my food before I even touched the dish, so it certainly wasn't mine. This entree should never have left the kitchen. There's no way any experienced chef (or person who knows how to cook) would send that out. Awful and Definitely not worth a $100+ dinner for two between the service and quality of food. Additionally, I ordered an old fashioned, it wasn't balanced at all. It also didn't taste like bulleit, closer to rubbing alcohol.

This is my local go to... The food is consistently delicious! The wood fire pizza's are very, very good. Cocktails are primo. Love Luna's fried potatoes w/ long hots and sausage, stuffed meatballs, short ribs, fried calamari, pasta w/ brandy cream sauce... I could go on and on!!! TV's everywhere, never miss a game. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Owner Louie always makes you feel at home. Service is great! Enjoyable, social atmosphere. Establishment is clean and well kept. Quality catering. Plenty of parking. Front and rear entrances. Private party room coming soon! Highly recommend!

Very often, I like to make a "meal" out of multiple appetizers. Here, I like to start with the calamari and DEFINITELY get the wings.. with the onions. A friend and I frequently meet here to catch up, so those are our 2 staples, and we usually add a 3rd app, depending on our moods.

A nice little family restaurant. Their food is so good. Some of my favorites are the nico, the Fusaro, the domenico, the chicken Milanese, the hotsy tots shrimp, and the luna salad. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food travels well for take out too.

Came here with friends on a weekday evening. We made a reservation but we didn't need on. Overall the food was OK, the pizza was delicious. For starters we tried the Tuscan style calamari which was tasty. We also split the Margarita pie which was fantastic. Would definitely get again, along with other pies. For entrees I got a sandwich, while my friends got a a salad or pasta. The portion sizes were big; I think we all thought our entrees were just OK. Overall would definitely come back for pizza. They also have a cool cocktails list.

Always great! It is our go to place in town been their countless times. This is a review of all of our visits. Super friendly staff. A bartenders and wait staff are awesome . Very personable . Usually start off with the Calamari. Either the traditional or buffalo style very good. Steak Crustini one of our favorites. Oven Roasted Chicken Wings great. One time they were better overcooked. Garlic Shrimp with wine sauce is incredible. The bread at the table gets dipped to that fabulous sauce.. The pizza is always great. Usually usually order the traditional with vodka sauce and mushrooms. Also, the calzone pizza are awesome too. The cheat code here is to ask for extra well done. Well done Dave Portney style

I've ordered delivery and pick up from Luna Wood Fire Tavern on several occasions. Customer service is Very Good all around! As of now, I've ordered their Italian steak salad, Beet salad, Harvest salad, Steak Crostini and of course their DELICIOUS & FRESH PIZZA!!!. All the salads are very good. The harvest salad is one of my favorites. It has sweet butternut squash and apples with a side pomegranate dressing! I have yet to actually dine in the restaurant. However, I will keep all of you updated on the dining experience. Parking is plentiful- specifically street parking and a lot in the back. Definitely recommend this place!!!

Fun place. Good food. Nice selection. Tasty. Fairly priced. I'd go back. Nutley needs a Place like this.

Wonderful place to go to eat the food is delicious the place is clean and everybody there is friendly and I had a party for my son last week and I catered from there and it was awesome my favorite is the rice balls and the stuffed meatballs

This was my first time having Sicilian and oh my god!! Luna's does it right! The pizza is cheesy, saucy, and somehow, always hot even by the time we get home. We found this place during the pandemic, and have ordered out twice. Each time, it's been 1. grandmas Sicilian 2. Meat lovers (which is also a Sicilian). The pizzas are huge and delicious, thus worth the price. Each pie can definitely be two meals for one person. I'm not sure if things have changed, since the two times we've ordered, but my only hesitation was that the kitchen staff and the people answering phones/ringing me up had their masks around their chins.

I love this place. The pizza is one of my favorites. Not crazy about the decor but the food is fantastic. Parking is available in the back so don't pass it up just because you don't find street parking.
