I’ve stayed in nearly 100 hostels, and this was by far the worst. It’s also the first time I’ve ever left a negative review. The hostel runs a downstairs restaurant with music louder than most clubs — it plays until 5–6 a.m. every night and echoes through the entire area. Even with earplugs, I couldn't sleep. On the last night, my bed literally vibrated from the bass. Staff ignored all complaints. I have no idea how this is even legal. There’s also limited water access — only at certain hours. For 3 days, there was no water to flush toilets. The smell of urine was constant, and we had to ask for water from bottles to flush anything. The only plus: the rooms are clean, with AC and personal fans. But no bed curtains, so zero privacy. I’ve slept in many low-budget places, but this was inhumane. The extreme noise and lack of basic hygiene make it unlivable. Spend €5–10 more and sleep literally anywhere else. Strongly not recommended.

In almost three months of travelling, this is by far the worst hostel i’ve been into. The bedrooms are nasty (bugs, wood shavings on the beds, chicken bones…), the water is only available a few hours a day and the beds are small and made of some sort of plastic absolutely horrendous. And when we asked for a refund, they pulled out a cardboard that was hidden behind the counter saying that no refunds were accepted (obviously a scam). We managed to get half of our money back but please don’t go there

I do not recommend this hostal. Ridiculously loud everywhere at the weekend at night/morning. I had water cuts and couldn't use the bathrooms' flushs. The common areas and bathrooms had not been cleaned. The staff was nowhere to be found most of the time. Just very well located and cheap.

DO NOT BOOK BEFORE READING THIS – HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I had one of the worst hostel experiences here. First, upon check-in, I was asked to pay more than the amount shown on Hostelworld without any proper explanation, which felt misleading. But what happened next was absolutely unacceptable. While I was in my 6-bed shared dorm, the staff escorted a couple into the room, who then proceeded to have intercourse in the shared space without even closing the curtains. This was a deeply uncomfortable and disgusting experience, especially in a shared accommodation where basic respect and privacy are expected. I brought this to the attention of the staff but there was no action taken, no apology, and no resolution offered. I strongly advise other travelers to reconsider booking this hostel if you value safety, professionalism, and basic decency.

Horrible!! Don't stay at this hostel, it's a hostel with a nightclub, it's impossible to sleep with the noise of the club, there's no water practically all day long in the place, poorly organized, old building, the bathrooms on the second floor are horrible, and the owner and the staff are very rude.

Very nice hostel to stay in. Especially room 7 is perfect! Lots of backpackers and people to explore the city with. Chris gives a walking tour almost everyday of the week and I would definitely recommend to do this! It was a great walk, with loads of wild animal spotting, good food stops and a view over the city and the Panama Canal. Would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone!

Wow what a brilliant hostel to visit and stay in when you are in panama city I cannot think of a better hostel in the world! The common areas are very clean and they have a lot of things to do such as ping pong or reading or playing games or chatting to other travellers and it was very homely! They also have a huge bar that you can reach from the back stairs it was very cool! The drinks are so cheap and good! There are beautiful trees and little sit off areas where you can meet other travellers from many other hostels. It is a very popular outdoor bar but there is no issue with noise within the hostel rooms! Stay here it is top!!

|Luna Castle was a good hostel to stay at; clean beds, a steady stream of beer pong and great company is what to expect when staying here. Rooms were air conditioned nicely, however it would’ve been better if they kept it on throughout the day! Cheap drinks downstairs for happy hour and lovely food at the restaurant nearby! Based in the centre of Casco, you cannot go wrong. Chris operates an insightful walking tour, showing animals, while enlightened you on the history and rich culture of Panama City. This complimented with refreshing homemade smoothies and the best ceviche at the lowest local price. He brings an exciting element to the hostel and leaves everyone happy. Booked for two nights and ended up staying just under a week! ||Thank you for your hospitality Luna Castle!
