May/2024:
$15 for five wines is their standard tasting fee now. They do have a fairly spectacular view, so enjoy your tasting outside on the patio if weather permits.
The wines we enjoyed:
2022 riesling (normally petroleum notes this one seemed sweeter than the average riesling, but not necessarily a bad thing)
2022 Pinot Blanc
2022 Chardonnay, this one was unoaked
2022 Pinot Noir
2021 Cabernet franc
Overall, a decent representation of what this area has on offer for wine.
August/2023:
It was smoky the afternoon we decided to take in a tasting at Lunesscense. You’re given a choice of five wines. My selection was as follows:
First was Viognier
Second was vin gris
Third was Pinot noir
Fourth was a Cabernet Franc
Fifth and final Merlot
Today, my taste aligned with the deeper, darker reds, and the Merlot ended up being my favorite of the day.
I got a taste of my partners 2022 rosé and frankly, one of the better roses I’ve tried in the area. Taste fresh and crisp, lively with flavor. A very good rosé.
If you get a chance to visit this winery, you will not be disappointed.
